How do we reconcile what the Bible says about sex & marriage with the cultural norms and societal expectations on the day. In this episode we're getting back to God's heart for marriage which can be summed up in the word ONENESS.
There's plenty of nuance to unpack in this one as we talk about what makes Christian marriage so special.

The strength of our faith is not as important as the object of our faith. Over time words can become skewed and slanted to hold additional meanings. Faith has become a word that seems to be more connected to our ability as opposed to God's.

What does forgiveness really look like? One of the reasons we find it so hard is because we think it means we have to ignore the injustice of things that happened.
But this is not actually the case and even when you forgive someone, your emotions towards them may not immediately change. In this episode, we talk about how to have a healthy relationship with your emotions and how that affects our capacity to forgive - including 'negative' emotions like anger, sadness and fear.

Today we're talking about the presence of God. This is an often confused and misused term in some circles but the presence of God is simply God himself revealed in a specific time and place. In the Old Testament this was usually just in one place (e.g. the tabernacle or temple) but today we each have access to the Holy Spirit and are called to be carriers of his presence.

Human beings crave certainty. This desire is fulfilled in the gospel and yet as we navigate this side of eternity, we will still find that there is a sense of incompletion and even confusion about areas of life.
This isn't a sign that you're failing, it's actually a sign that God is in control and it's an opportunity to trust him. In this message, we unpack some of the ways the gospel has been distorted and how it sets us up for bitter disappointment. There's plenty of hope in this message but it does begin with a reality check.

What makes a healthy church? Much of the Bible is filled with agricultural imagery and Jesus refers to himself as the vine and his people as the branches. So health is a journey as we continue growing and learning.
Just as there are different degrees of disease, so there can be different degrees of health. I share in this episode some red flags around church culture and encouragement for us all as to how to stay healthy as a church.

The love of God is such a 'basic' concept that many of us have heard about for as long as we can remember. So much so that it's easy to switch off when it's mentioned. But knowing about God's love is very different from experiencing it.

People will do crazy things to belong. Just look at the polarisation we see so often around us in today's age - it's nearly always driven by the need to belong. Belonging of course is actually a good thing and every human being is wired to seek it out.
In today's episode, I break down some essential concepts around belonging. Because if you don't have a strong revelation of belonging for Jesus, you'll find yourself in all sorts of nonsense to find it everywhere else.

The church is an integral part of God’s design for every human being. It’s in this collective experience that we get filled with the Holy Spirit, strengthened, encouraged, challenged and prepared for life at large.
With that in mind, it’s easy to fall into the error that the church is the end goal. But God has also placed unique desires and dreams on each of our hearts that he wants us to pursue and fulfill that often lead us into the world. Because each of us need both a corporate vision to be a part of and a personal dream to pursue.

The reason God hates sin is because sin is a sickness that leads to death. God's perspective of morality is not just a conceptual right or wrong but about tangible consequences that are either life-giving or soul-destroying.
So what do we do if we've messed up when it comes to sex and relationships and we're experiencing pain, sickness and heartache? There is good news - at the cross Jesus took upon himself not just the finality of death but also every sickness that culminates in death.
That means there's hope not just for heaven and eternity but for today. As we close our series, Let's Talk About Sex, today we're talking about ENT@NGLEMENT.

Is there a direction to love? Jesus seems to think so when he explains to the disciples that he has loved them as the Father loved him and that they should therefore love one another. The level of fun, honesty and intimacy of our relationships and friendships within the church will determine the fruit of our influence outside of it. Rest is the product of a life that fully trusts God. Conversely when our trust lies in things that are less secure, we can experience worry, stress and anxiety in ways greater than we are supposed to.
