In this 5 in 5 episode of The H-Files, we break down five key takeaways from my conversation with Jason Bryll, Founder of Parable Healthcare — all in under five minutes.

Jason explains why relying on gut feel in healthcare businesses is like using a hammer when a power drill is sitting right next to you. We dive into:

  1. Why data culture matters more than dashboards.
  2. How visualisation leads to better questions and better decisions.
  3. Practical ways SMEs can start with BI without breaking the bank.
  4. Real examples where BI accelerated growth.
  5. What the future looks like with AI and predictive analytics.

Actions you can take right now: Audit how your business currently makes decisions — is it gut feel or data-driven?
Start small: choose one area to visualise and track consistently.
Invest in building data culture, not just tools.

Whether you’re in medtech, healthcare services, or scaling an SME, this episode shows you how to use business intelligence as a growth accelerator.

In any pursuit of success, even the mention of the word failure sets the wrong tone. Failure is not something many business leaders want to talk about, but it’s a part of life and a necessary component of any success. When things go wrong in business, it can be tempting to push the experience from the road to move on as quickly as possible without reflecting and learning from it. However, by doing that, we miss the opportunity to learn and grow.

Embracing failure is all about reflecting on what went wrong and why and it can be the most valuable learning experience in our businesses.

In this episode of the Hands On Business podcast, your host, Hakeem, talks about embracing failure and why it is necessary for success.

As the new year begins, I always review the previous year with a plan to improve in the following year. During my yearly reflections over the holiday period, I noticed that without planning it, I have an exceptionally diverse workforce.

The more I reflected on it and the more I looked at what I'd done in previous years, I've always focused on getting the best people for the job, but just as importantly, the best people to make a high-performing team.

People who have different opinions from me, people who have the right attitude, strong mindset, the right skills, and confidence to deliver. And therefore, it has always led to a diverse workforce.

Today's podcast episode will be about why diversity in the workplace drives your bottom line.

One of the biggest challenges that I've seen in businesses is that no matter how small or how large they are, they don't have enough time to finish all of their daily processes. These businesses feel overwhelmed and can't even imagine what the next step would be to resolve all of their organisational issues. One of the reasons for this overwhelm is that they add poor processes to their systems.

However, the main reason is that most business owners consider implementing processes as a time stealer and as a means to drain a lot of money due to inefficiencies.

Our guest today is Alexis Kingsbury, the co-founder of AirManual, a startup that helps businesses document their processes as well as onboard and train employees. With over 10 years of experience and with a remote and global team, Alexis will explain the power of systemising business procedures and processes for both your time and bottom line.

How do you deal with objections? Or better yet, how do you obliterate objections?

This is one of my favorite topics when it comes to sales. Why? Because I found that most people get very nervous or worried when an objection to their product or service is mentioned. And it doesn't matter how good your product is or how fantastic your service is, there are still people who are going to object to it.

In this episode, I would like to share how to obliterate objections like a ninja. And the reason why I've called it obliterating objections is that I see lots of people talking about dealing with objections, but what I want to do is remove that objection so that you never have to think about it again.

Join me as we look into objections from a different perspective and help people to understand how they can turn those objections into strength.

What does rest have to do with productivity? How can you succeed when you’re resting?

Many people think that I’m obsessed with getting more done and being more productive because I’m very structured and always have so much to do outside of work. I remember one of my team members saying that they can’t ever imagine me relaxing because I’m so focused when I’m at work.
