How much is social media affecting your daily life?
Do you get stuck in a scroll hole and eventually re-surface feeling overwhelmed, deflated and confused?
Us too – so this month we decided to delete our social media’s (yes all of them) to see what changes it caused on our mindset and general wellbeing. And the results, after only one week, have been incredible.
In this week’s episode find out what led us to the decision to come off social media, how it has affected our daily lives and what lessons we will take forward.

This week we are doing things slightly different and answering questions sent to us by previous interviewee and avid listener, Ian - founder of CBDiablo! Ian has sent us in some really interesting, if not slightly tricky questions that we are answering based on our varied experience over the years. These questions range from how to build a team, dealing with tricky customers, staying true to your vision, when to get lawyers involved and more! We found this such a cool way of answering questions that we might not usually cover/think to cover and want to encourage our other listeners to write into us with their questions. Use the links below to send yours in and we promise to discuss all that we receive on an upcoming podcast episode!

Welcome back to this week’s episode of the corporate dropouts! This week we are revisiting a topic that we have covered previously, but with new wisdom and learnings gained since the previous episode two years ago!
That’s right - we are talking, Imposter syndrome! Aka lack of self confidence, fear of being unworthy/undeserving, scared to dream too big etc etc.
Sadly we’re not here to tell you we can cure you of ever feeling this way again, but we are here to give you some real fail safe methods to overcome the feelings and still get everything you want!
This is a perfect time to face your imposter syndrome to ensure it doesn’t affect any of your goal setting this year!
Tune in and let us know what you think!

A lot of people go running head first into the new year - ‘new year, new me’ and all. But often, by forgetting to look back at the year just gone we lose touch with a lot of vital lessons - both positive and negative - that we should be taking into next year.
Reflecting on the year past is a great exercise to do during the last few days of the year. Read back through your journal (however cringe/painful), reflect on goals achieved, or not, reflect on what patterns of behaviour you’ve overcome or instigated etc.
All of this allows you to move forward from the place you are now, without forgetting anything you’ve learnt so far. It’s crazy what things you’ll come across in your journal that you will have completely forgotten about.
So finish off your 2022 chapter with a reflections exercise, using this podcast as a guide to help you get it all out, and set you up for an amazing 2023!
During this episode we do our own reflections and share our 4 key learnings from the year, which we hope will provide you with some wisdom, comfort and guidance in your own journey.

In this week's solo episode, hosted by TLC's avid reader Christina, she discusses the 3 books that have changed her life in 2022 which she would recommend to anyone who asks.
As always, personal development books frequent the list but other hobby based books also get a look in this year as Christina discusses the burn out you can feel when you focus solely on development books! Make time for other enjoyments too!
In this list you will hear about:
1. The Everyday Hero Manifesto by Robin Sharma
2. Do Less by Kate Northrup
3. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

Welcome back to series 3!!
This week we want to talk about shadow work! Now, if you don't know what this is, that's okay. Shadow work is almost like self therapy. It's getting really honest with yourself and addressing the blocks you are feeling that are stopping you from levelling up.
Do you feel like you've hit a plateau in life? Even though you're hitting your 10k a day, eating your protein, organising your day to a T, you still feel stuck?
That's exactly how we felt!
But don't worry, that's exactly why we recorded this ep, to help you (and ourselves) get over these blockers.
Are you living by your values? Could this be stopping you from feeling like your true, authentic, amazing self? We go into lots of things that could be blocking you on this ep, so take a listen!
Your hosts are Christina Gough, owner of the very successful Marketing agency - Formation Marketing, and Ellie Gough, the owner of the cutesttt lingerie brand - Untold Story
So, if you're a business owner, start-up, side hustle queen, or merely thinking about dropping out of the corporate world to start living the dream boss babe life, then join us every week for new episodes!

Welcome back to series 3, and this time you can watch us in action, as well as listen to us waffle on, as per.
This week we have ditched the wine (can't handle the hangovers) and discuss how we are finding our perfect routine for optimum productivity.
We find being out if a routine really triggers our anxiety and makes working productively very hard!!
We wanted to share with you the ways we have found that help us stay on track, and keep the anxiety and guilt at bay.
With every self employed boss-bitch, it can be hard to find a balance between work and play. It can also be tricky to be disciplined with yourself and make yourself accountable! Sound like you? We are here to help... so take a listen!

Welcome back to series 3, and this time you can watch us in action on YouTube, as well as listen to us waffle on, as per.
This week we have a glass of wine and chin-wag about our ways to deal with anxiety. We found our anxiety creeps up when we feel less busy, and less "distracted" (dont worry, we are in therapy).
We know this is probably the case for most people, especially when running your own business, you feel guilty not doing anything!!
Ebs and flows are inevitable in life, whether you're in full time employment, working for yourself, or a stay at home mum! Life is never predictable (no matter how much we try to change that). So in this ep, we talk through our ways of coping in those moment of "ebs" and how we manage our rising anxiety levels in these times.
We also touch on our ways of working with our menstrual cycle to optimise our work efficiency, and not feeling guilty when we are having a slow week. At the end of the day, it's all about working harder not smarter...!!

Welcome back to series 3, and this time you can watch us in action, as well as listen to us waffle on as per, over a glass of wine (of course).
This week we chat about the week we have had since our last ep. This includes a deep dive crystals have changed our lives! After reading Positively Wealthy by Emma Mumford, we went on a crystal adventure which we talk about in this ep, and we provide our recommendations for both business purposes and personal life.
We also chat about the importance of reflecting on your goals, instead of constantly making new ones - as this can have a bad effect on your mental health!! Remember to focus on your achievements and not dwell on that one goal you haven't achieved this year.
We try and keep things pretty light hearted over here! If you haven't listened to our podcast before, we go through all the ups, downs, the habits and processes it takes to be a successful business owner.

Depending on what school you went to, and your parents perspective on it, getting a degree can be an assumed right of passage for many. But for some, choosing to go straight into work can seem like the preferred option - although this doesn't always go down well.
For our interview with Millie, we start right at the beginning of her career - as in, from when she left school and decided university wasn't for her. Going through her road to success in the fashion industry is an incredible insightful one for those perhaps just deciding their choices beyond their a-levels in particular.
Millie started literally from the bottom, deciding fashion was where she wanted to be and hustling her way in in her gorgeously stubborn way. She started as a receptionist, learning the ropes and moving up the ranks over the last 12 years.
her story is insightful, inspiring, different, hopeful and exciting. All before we even get to her modern day venture of Coria Ltd, which qualifies her as a Corporate Dropout.
Please share this with any of your younger friends who may feel the resume of making some serious life choices at the young age of 16 - 18 and encourage them to listen to an alternative life story to someone who went to university,
If you want to find out more about Millie, head to Instagram and follow @coira_ltd.

Welcome back to the Corporate Dropouts! On this week’s episode we have not one but TWO amazing guests in conversation with us. This one is interesting as we have both the entrepreneur and the investor on – so we are getting two sides of the coin told on one juicy episode. Let us tell you more….
So Lily – a digital marketing guru who is THE go to for fashion and retail brands worked for VERY for about ten years, during which she got both technical digital skills as well as brand side creative skills – a very rare mix for digital marketers now. She has used this to become the go to when a fashion brand is looking to produce digital marketing campaigns. Because of this, Andy, our second guest, spotted Lily and her potential very quickly. In a story that sightly differs from the norm, it was Andy who persuaded Lily to go out on her own and then eventually start her own agency – Reform The Fold which Lily was very sceptical about to start with – however, almost 6 months in to corporate dropout life and she’s loving every minute.
Now, Andy is also on our podcast and his story is equally as interesting. He has been a Corporate Dropout a lot longer, and now runs Captivate Group which essentially invests in and nurtures marketing agencies of all different disciplines – and this is what Lily has joined in to. This gives her the investment and the support that we all so desire when starting out on our own as entrepreneurs. As an investor it is so insightful to hear Andy’s expertise and wisdom on what he would look out for when looking for businesses – and even if you’re not in the marketing space, this is a really key interview to listen too.
We were thrilled with how this interview came out, and we hope you find it as useful and interesting as we did. Find out more about our guests at the below links:

Ok guys, the subject of manifestation. chakras and human design is something Ellie and Christina have got quite interested in during the last few years - however, we are quite aware that this may be something that is more understood in the US rather than the UK and so we wanted to get an expert onto the podcast to discuss what it is, how it works, what the benefits are and if there is anything scientific behind it to help us believe in it a bit more?
We wanted to bring this episode to you to help all the small business owners, and anyone else, who are listening to this episode understand a bit more about manifestation, human design, karma, and all things spiritual that can help you manifest the life of your dreams.
We know this can all sound a bit woo woo, we get it - which his why we made Ashlie dive deep into why this can actually help you as a business leader, whether you believe in it or not.
Maybe you're feeling a bit confused about the message you are putting out there, a bit misaligned to what your business stands for - that all comes back to who you are as a person and what your true identity is.
We promise, if you take a minute to fill in the charts below you will be shocked at how much it teaches you about yourself and where you should go as a business. We did it live on the podcast and have been shook ever since!

On this week's episode we are interviewing virtual CFO and finance QUEEN Christina Christoforou.
Christina has worked in finance for 20 years and is a UK qualified accountant, and now helps online business and service providers scale their business with more profit and cash in the bank.
Finance is typically a word we as business owners pass off to our hired accountant and only tend to thin about it when the VAT and tax bills arrive. Christina is hear to change that stigma and help business owners take back control of their business finances - to ensure they build more wealth, profit and cash within their business.
This was an eye opening interview for us, and I think most small business owners would agree, we could all understand our finances a bit better, and we all want to generate more wealth right?!

This week we are chatting to Anika, Founder of Aurea Search. Anika is very much a woman in a mans world, but has she let that stop her - hell no!! She dominates this industry, and the conversation telling her stories of start up woes (she has had a fair few legal issues on the way), explaining how her feminine energy has helped make her the success she is and why B2B Tech recruitment in the Nordics is such a great industry to be in.
This is an interview where we literally laugh out loud every five minutes, and you will recognise why Anika's infectious personality has helped her stand out in her industry.
She tells the story of how she became an entrepreneur by accident almost, and the many many lessons she's learnt along the way.

On this week's episode we are interviewing our own father, the man to thank for the entrepreneurial spirit we benefit from (although our mother is equally entrepreneurial minded herself).
Alistair, who now runs £40m business Ocee International (which he took overin 12 years ago when it was turning over just £4m), also had an incredibly successful career in corporate life over 29 years.
We think it's fair to say this interview is packed FULL of incredible advice, wisdom and tips for anyone starting there journey to show just how big you can dream, and to show that whatever age - it is possible to become a dropout. It may even show you that staying in your corporate job to gain as much experience as possible to allow you the best chance at success when you do start up, is a good choice.
We love the variety of our guests, and Alistair brings something completely new to this series.

Welcome to this episode of The Corporate Dropouts. This week we are speaking to Freya who has created a very successful side hustle, Gather and Graze, and is planning to keep is as that – a side hustle. She also works at an advertising firm and loves having the variety of both to be able to keep her creative juices flowing. §Unlike most, she is happy keeping the two running side by side.
Gather and Graze provides grazing table for events, parties etc and became particularly successful over lockdown. Balancing the two is of course – keeping Freya very busy – but luckily Gather and Graze can be done in the evenings and weekends, allowing her time to do her day job too.
She’s always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and the hard work attitude Freya demonstrates is incredibly inspirational. It just shows, hard work does pay off, and Gather and Graze is a testament to this. Not all side hustles need to become full time.
On the podcast Freya will explain how she’s grown the business using social media, particularly Instagram and how she manages both her day job and side hustle. A great listen for those hoping to start up but not wanting to quit their day job either.
Breaking the mould – is going straight from university to starting up on your own a blessing or a curse? Lessons from Posie Lingerie founder on why she avoided corporate life altogether and how it’s affected her journey – good and bad.
We have broken the mould with this one – our latest interview – with Posie, founder of Posie Lingerie – is not a Corporate Dropout, in the sense that she never actually went into Corporate Life in the first place! Quite an unusual decision, going straight from university to starting her own lingerie brand – and one which has come with its highs and lows.
Possibly everything that could have gone wrong with manufacturing a lingerie line, has gone wrong for Posie. And when she was finally able to launch in 2019, the pandemic, and Brexit, hit a few months later.
Posie has learnt a lot in her short time as a business owner, and this is a must listen for any students, young entrepreneurs and anyone looking to go into a fashion focussed business. It is also a great lesson in never giving up, no matter what obstacles are thrown in your way – it can really teach you resilience and to Posie has still built an incredibly successful luxury lingerie line despite the bumps in the road.
If you would like to check out her lingerie line you can find her at:

Are you one of the 1843 people who started a business in the UK this year?
How’s it going? Sadly, statistics dictate that over 80% of businesses will fail within their first two years - throw in a pandemic and chances are you might be feeling slightly deflated.
Often, the problem starts with not having a clear understanding of who your audience is and how to speak to them, which then makes it difficult to find your niche of customers who will actually convert.
As tempting as it is to shout from the rooftops to as many people as possible about your amazing new product or service, taking a scattergun approach to communications will soon leave your fledgling business floundering.
It’s far better to define your true audience from the outset. In fact, according to SME finance expert Fundera, 42% of failed small businesses offer products or services that don’t bring anything new or useful to the market.
That’s nearly half of start-ups and scale-ups that failed to find and target their niche.
At The Lifestyle CEO we are committed to helping women-led start ups turn their passion into six figure profit within twelve months, and to help you get started we have created this free ebook to help you build an audience for your start up.
Head to https://thelifestyleceo.co.uk/e-book to find out more and download your copy and find your niche of converting customers!
Cannabis – an industry that has truly exploded in the last 2 years, and it has been suggested that the market for it could surpass the £2billion mark by 2024.
Succeeding in this type of market is certainly not without its challenges, especially in the UK which still stops CBD businesses from promoting their products on social channels or google, and is very strict around the type of messaging that can be used.
So speaking to Ian and Sam from CBDiablo – arguably one of the most successful CBD brands in the UK – was incredibly fascinating. We certainly did not know much about how the industry works, how hard it is to work in, but also how many possibilities lie ahead for this industry.
Ian and Sam are two of the most genuine people we have come across, and it came as no surprise to learn about how they are using their voice in the market to help men with mental health struggles by donating 20% of each sale to the charity Calm.
If you are looking to break into a new/up and coming market (cannabis or not), or if you are looking to understand how to stand out in a crowded market by being truly authentic to yourself and your mission, this interview is not to be missed

We are back baby! Season 2 has officially began and this season we are so excited to be focussing purely on interviewing those in the driving seat of their careers, who have taken the leap and created their ideal life by dropping out of corporate life and starting their own business.
Our first guest for Episode 1 is Kate Bennett, of Maid Green and A Clean Education.

We recently read the 5am club by Robin Sharma and the teachings within it are something we know will immensely increase the success rate at which businesses grow, as well as hitting personal goals. As you know, we love to practise what we preach, so this week we both undertook the 5am club experiment - implementing the practises and teachings within the book to see if it can really make our life and success rate better,
On today's Epsiode we review the teachings we implanted over the last week and have explained how it worked for us, how we might amend it and how it could be improved to fit around your own circumstances.
Listen in and let us know if you'll be implanting any of the practises yourself!
