So if you’re going through a storm in your life right now, or even if you’re unknowingly about to enter into a storm… this episode will help you to prepare.

I thought today would be a good day to discuss our faith and values for preparing for storms.

When you think about it… the transition from summer to fall is more dramatic than fall to winter, than winter to spring, and even from spring to summer.

Unfortunately, this time of the year is also known for unstable weather patterns. Names like Isabel, Sandy, Katrina, and Irene are reminders of the devastation of major storms that happen during this time of the year.

And this is the time of the year where We are bombarded with information on how important it is to prepare for the possibility of storms. We can be certain that there will be a storm, but the severity, the timing, the location and the duration, no one really knows.

Experiencing these storms is also a reminder that life has its storms. health storms, when you are faced with a diagnosis that catches you off guard; financial storms caused by unstable economic conditions; emotional storms that happen as the result of the loss of a loved one. …Those relational storms that occur when we have to care for an ailing relative or become a parent to our own parents as they deal with the challenges of aging.

Yes, life has its storms, and just like the meteorological storms we face, we can’t predict them. But, we can prepare for them.

Psalm 46:1 says these words, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

The message Bible says it like this, “God is a safe place to hide.” Why is this important to know?

Because, Your devotion to God helps to reduce the effects of the distractions that the storms of life may try to bring your way. The promise in the verse is not that we won’t experience troubles and trials in life — the storm will come.

But the promise is that God will be a refuge, a safe place to protect us from the effects of the storm. Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still and know that I am God."

**Jesus consistently demonstrated His authority by doing things which were totally beyond human capacity. In this case, while the disciples were crossing the Sea of Galilee by boat, Jesus fell asleep on a cushion. A great storm arose, and the disciples panicked.

In desperation, they awoke Jesus saying: "Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?" He got up and calmly rebuked the wind and the sea. The storm ceased. He then turned to the disciples and reproved them for their lack of faith. Though they had seen Jesus perform many miracles, they were always amazed by each new one. They said: "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?"**

Note -- Let me ask you, How well do you sleep? Considering the things that the disciples had already seen Jesus do, their doubts about His ability to quiet the storm are astonishing. They had seen Him heal multitudes of people, cast out demons and prove Himself equal to any task at hand. Suddenly, they despaired because of a storm on the sea. Obviously, they didn't really think Jesus could solve this problem because they were amazed when He did. How could they have been so slow and so distrustful? What about us? Do we not believe that Jesus can handle any situation, if we trust and obey His will? Have we not seen in the Scriptures how Jesus can solve every problem? How do we react when we confront a fresh crisis in our lives--do we trustingly and confidently turn to Jesus, or do we throw up our hands in despair? How well do we sleep?

**Today, we are going to learn about how Jesus frequently taught in parables.

A parable is a story with a spiritual application.**

As a result of His teaching and miracles, Jesus' popularity grew rapidly. So many people wanted to hear Him that they filled the house in Capernaum where He was teaching and crowded around it. There were, five men who arrived, eager to see Jesus too.

One of them was paralyzed and the other four carried him on a stretcher. Because of the crowd It was impossible for them to get in through the door, so they climbed up on the roof, cut a hole in it and let the paralytic down through the opening they had created. Can you imagine the commotion among the crowd in the house below as they were cutting the hole in the roof?

When Jesus saw the faith they demonstrated, He told the lame man that his sins were forgiven. ….That was probably not what the man had expected to hear, but it is every man's greatest need, right?. To be forgiven of our sins…

Well., The scribes who were present thought Jesus had blasphemed because God is the only one who can forgive sins. Jesus read their minds and asked: Which is easier to say your sins are forgiven, or get up and walk?

And so, To prove His ability to forgive sins (something invisible and therefore impossible to verify), He healed the paralytic who then got up and walked. So, Jesus proved His power to conquer invisible, spiritual problems by overcoming a visible, physical problem.

The crowd was dumbfounded. They had never seen anything to compare with Jesus.

In the very first verse, Mark announced that he would write about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It is surprising, therefore, that he did not start out by telling about Jesus Himself; instead, he described the work of John the Baptist. This was because John was to prepare the way for Jesus. John fulfilled this mission by preaching to get people ready for the coming of the Lord.

John's message focused on two themes that will help us get ready to receive Christ.

First, he preached about repentance. To repent means to decide to change. It means to ask for forgiveness of the sins that you are in and turn away from them.

Here, we see John was telling his hearers that they had to reverse their life's direction to get ready for Christ; and those who were unwilling to change could not come to Christ, right.

And then Secondly, John declared the greatness of Jesus. He said Jesus was so great that he himself was not even worthy to stoop down and untie His shoes. This was an amazing declaration because we don’t have to have much worth to untie somebody's shoes. In fact, in John's day, untying shoes was considered to be a slave's lowest duty - John wasn't worthy to be Jesus' slave!

So, for us to be ready to receive Jesus, we must repent (change our lives) and recognize His awesome greatness.

This week I want to talk about the benefits of reading the Bible. There are many people who don’t take time to spend reading the Word of God. Which is the most important and best-selling book of all time: I, myself, have been guilty of this as well.

Let me ask you: How often Do you read your Bible? How much time Do you set aside for God to speak to you through His Word?

And God has commanded us to do this over and over again in the scriptures…

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

We all want to be a successful child of God, right? And If so, then a constant reading of the Word of God will be indispensable for you. This is the only book that God has given to mankind to read. And so Every other book comes secondary to the Bible.

And so for those of you who are taking notes, Today’s topic is the benefits of reading the word of God because the Spirit of God impressed upon me that it is time for His people to read His Word and to know it…. well.

And so I’m speaking on 21 reasons why… I believe… you should never neglect the reading of God’s word as a part of your daily routine. And it’s With the intention of giving you some motivation and encouragement to carve out some time every day to read the word of God…. So here we go! 21 benefits of reading your Bible…

Hey family, Great Monday! I want to remind you that there’s power when you are persistent. Know this… your call is greater than your mistakes! So don’t quit!! I know it looks rough, you probably didn't see it coming…

A few weeks ago, actually about 2 months ago now, I was met with what I could only think of as spiritual turbulence. And this consisted of me feeling like I was being met with some resistance, opposition’s, and interference in the spirit realm. And then a couple of weeks ago my husband called me one day without me ever saying to him what I had felt and was like, I don’t know how to explain it… but I feel like I’m stuck spiritually. And that conversation with him actually sparked me to record today’s topic. Because if we are experiencing this then I know others are as well.

And  I want to touch on 4 things that can help us and that I’ve learned about Enduring Spiritual Turbulence…

If you've ridden on a air plane, then you're probably familiar with Turbulence. You can be flying through the air and everything is smooth, There's not a cloud in the sky ... The pilot announces that It's going to be great flying weather. No bumps or turbulence to worry about. And so you just sit back, and relax so that you can enjoy the flight right…

This is part two of last week’s discussion titled which road are you on. And as We talked about the deceitfulness of sin I asked you that question, which road are you on… If you missed it, go over to listen to that one and come back over to this one, which is part two.

In part one we talked about the first step to living a saved life and getting on the narrow road, repentance… because God's Word tells us that our part in the new birth is to

  • repent
  • believe and
  • Receive.

And so today we’re gonna talk about believing and receiving. The number one question we often ask ourselves and maybe others is what do I have to do in order to be saved. How do I become saved, right…

And so In part one we saw God's great love for sinners. And if we’re honest, we know that If we are unsaved, then we are lost to God. God considers us lost. But God cannot bear to lose us.

Have you ever considered how much it cost God to seek you?

I want to talk about some of the sins that come into life as a result of self. There are many more than what I’m going to be talking about, but we’ll only focus on these for now. There is no key verse or scriptures for studying this week, but of course there will be scriptures that I call out for reference.

The Bible talks about the deceitfulness of sin.

**deceit: the action or practice of deceiving someone by concealing or misrepresenting the truth.

This means that when we can sin, which is bad enough, yet after we have sinned we become blinded or deceived into thinking or saying it's not sin.**

Well scripture says in Psalm 101:7 that he that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house; he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight. (in other words stand in His presence) and so basically It is covering up sin. Right…

"The way of transgressors is hard." (Proverbs 13:15)

"He who covers his sins shall not prosper." (Proverbs 28:13)The truth of the matter is that We must all choose the way we will go in life. Jesus classified people in two categories. He taught there are two destinies in life or two roads of life; The broad road and the narrow road… He didn’t give us a third alternative or a middle road, so it’s either one or the other.

He said we can only enter into the kingdom through the narrow gate. He said the highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gate to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.

The broad way on which so many are traveling leads to destruction, and the narrow way leads to life everlasting.

Last week we talked about do you enjoy God, and I briefly touched on how to enjoy God. But I wanted to come back and elaborate more on How to enjoy God, because God wants us to truly enjoy the great salvation which we have in Christ, right…!

And This salvation takes us out of the place of judgment and puts us in the very presence of the Lord Jesus.

The apostle Paul said,

"For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. Who died for us, that, whether we wake [live] or sleep [die], we should live together with Him." (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10)

And so, What wonderful verses these are! Christ died for us, that, whether we live on in this life or die, we should "live together with Him."

Have you realized that It is possible to be a child of God and truly love the Lord; yet not know God's attitude toward you?

Many of us think that God is continually displeased with them, or at least disappointed in them. Because we are thinking of our faults and failures, and cannot see how our perfect Father can love us in our imperfectness… or imperfections…

See we think that because for a moment we allowed flesh to rise up and we say something that we shouldn’t have said or we do something that we shouldn't have done that God has just thrown us away. But God understands this because he said in Genesis 6:3 And the Lord said my Spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh…

And so we begin to feel bad about what we just did or what we just said and instead of allowing that moment of conviction and correction from the Holy Spirit, we allow the enemy to distract us with his lies! Well you just said that or you just did that, God isn’t in in, God don’t love you, oh you can’t be a child of God. But God said He chastens those whom he loves.

So when you start feeling bad, thats God chastening you. He’s saying hey, you acted out of character. For a moment you forgot whose you were… But i need you to repent and ask for my forgiveness. And work on not doing that again!...

Because, Regardless of what we may think about ourselves, God takes pleasure in us, His people, His chidren. The Bible says,

"The Lord takes pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy." (Psalm 147:11)

The Bible is the story of how man fell into sin, and it talks about the nature of sin, it’s rebellion against God and His will. It talks about the source from which sin came and what the consequences of sin are.

It is also a story of God's great salvation in Christ! It tells us how by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. (Romans 5)

When we think about a diamond, how it is flawlessly displayed against a black velvet background, so is God's great salvation, right… It shines forth against the dark background of man's sin and rebellion.

Who Gets the Blame for Original Sin—Adam or Eve?

As I was studying for this topic I remembered my husband saying to me just a few weeks ago, that we wouldn’t be like this if it weren’t for Eve. I don’t remember what we were talking about that made him say that; but You have likely heard the saying as well right…, “We wouldn’t be in this mess [meaning the sinfulness or the fallen nature of this world] if it weren’t for a woman.”

When we read In the book of Genesis we see that Eve ate the fruit first. And so This has led many people throughout history and even in our modern times to believe that she was the person responsible for original sin.

But I want to ask you all this morning, is that an accurate statement? Is Eve to blame for original sin?

Let’s talk about it!

Today’s podcast, we’ll be talking about being doubt.

And the Wikipedia’s definition of doubt is: a mental state in which the mind remains suspended between two or more contradictory propositions, unable to be certain of any of them. Doubt on an emotional level is indecision between belief and disbelief. - Wikipedia

I want you to think of a time when you were at your lowest point; a time when your doubts were just overwhelming, and then I want you to answer this question… or even now you may be at your lowest point and doubts are overwhelming you…

Who are you doubting, or “Who were you doubting?”

Were you doubting yourself or were you doubting God?.....

Let’s talk about it…

For those of you who said yourselves… you're not alone. It may appear to you that you are doubting yourself. In fact, the idea of thinking that you were/are doubting God might even humiliate you.

But the truth is, you are actually doubting God. No matter what you believe about yourself, or what you don’t believe about yourself, the root of that belief is in God.

When you believe you can do something, your belief is in God. When you believe you can’t do something, your doubt is in God.

Welcome back, family! Well as you can tell from the title, we are talking about our thoughts…. So basically I want us to talk about how to Take authority over your thoughts.

You may have heard the quote watch your thoughts, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions….

And we all struggle in our minds with negative thoughts and emotions at times… right…. Scripture says in Proverbs 23:7 that as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 4:23 tells us to guard our heart above all else, for it determines the course of our life.

In fact, the bible says in 2nd Corinthians to take every thought captive. And what does that mean… well it means to be kept within bounds or under control…. That means that we have a chance to do something about our thoughts before they enter our hearts and become a part of us!

So if we can learn to take our thoughts captive and take authority over our thoughts, then we can live the purpose God created for us

because our thoughts determine our destiny… our thoughts determine the course of our life right

Maybe you’ve been wanting to take your thoughts captive and make them obedient to Christ, but how do you actually accomplish this difficult thing? So now how can we be transformed by the renewing of our minds… as scripture instructs.

Well, Let’s talk about it…

I wonder if any of yall are like me, you find it easier to talk about God when you’re talking to like-minded people who share the same interest and feelings about God, right… Or do you struggle with how to represent the Savior who changed your life to the outside of your Christian circle?

Like we may know broken people, hurting. Searching for meaning and hope, but they don’t want to hear about Jesus.

We may know people who have been shunned by their families and labeled by society who do not want to hear about Jesus. right…

We may know people bound to guilt and shame over choices they’ve made who do not believe God will offer them forgiveness. So they don’t want to hear Jesus right.

And God forbid, but You may even know someone who truly believes that Jesus has nothing to offer them. Or that it’s all the universe… that blesses them… right…

Today, I want to talk about how we can share Christ with those who don’t want to hear about Jesus or who don’t believe that Jesus is the answer they are looking for.

So let’s talk about it!

Hey family, Heyyy... I wanted to come on and drop a gem of inspiration Today. I want to pray an affirmational prayer with you that you can recite daily and make a part of your everyday life. And then begin to walk in the blessings of God.

In Wikipedia: Affirmations refer primarily to the practice of positive thinking and self-empowerment—fostering a belief that "a positive mental attitude supported by affirmations will achieve success in anything."

Let me say it again, affirmations is the practice of positive thinking and self-empowerment—a positive mental attitude supported by affirmations will achieve success in anything."

I believe that the thoughts that we feed ourselves and The positive thoughts that we tell ourselves daily will achieve success. I want you to pray this prayer with me. Meditate on it and make it into daily affirmations and receive the Prosperity of our Heavenly Father. Hello to everyone who is tuned in! Thanks for joining. As always, I’m so glad to have you on! Today’s topic is about the dynamics of marriage, and we have a very special guest coming on to share his story of how he found himself divorced not once but twice and is currently re-married for the third time. So you definitely want to press play to hear his story!

And I, I'm in my 2nd marriage. I was married for 3 years, and that husband passed away. I’ve been married to my husband now 2 years this year. So I still consider myself newlywed and still learning and gathering as much advice as I can from seasoned married couples…right…

When we think of marriage, we consider it to be a blessing, and we value the stability of being married. And we know that marriage is a covenant before God.

Marriage is the first institution created by God. right

As we know in the book of Genesis, God made the first man, Adam, but declared that it was not good for Adam to be alone. So God then created a woman, who Adam named Eve. And so Eve was Adam’s wife. and God blessed their union and gave them dominion to rule over the earth…. right… if you read further in the book of Genesis 1.

Marriage was a part of God’s perfect design for mankind and was created before sin entered the world. God created marriage to be perfect, but then sin came along and changed God’s dynamics of what marriage should be right…

So, God’s design for marriage never included abuse of any sort, violence, or control. Even emotional abuse can bruise or severely harm a person’s heart, mind, and their soul. Right… and let me add this…

If you are in an abusive relationship, leave. Go to a safe place. Get help. You can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233, or you can also visit them online at thehotline.org. for assistance if you’re going through a domestic abuse situation. Their website offers different resources to read on, such as how to identify abuse, understand relationship abuse, why people abuse, and so on…

Now, press play so you can hear us talk about the dynamics of marriage and how three isn’t a crowd in marriages!

Many of us will feel down from time to time. right…. It’s a normal part of life and a part of what makes us human.

But, for some, feeling down can turn into something more that affects our emotional stability. And that’s what depression is. It affects us mentally and causes us to be afflicted with sadness and hopelessness for an extended time.

It produces a loss of interest in activities, life, family, and work….  causing significant impairment in daily life.

Depression is a heavy burden to carry, and Jesus reminds us that he will lift the heavy loads off our souls.  Want to read Matthew 11:28-30

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. That's the KJV of the bible.

I thought that we should talk about Unity in marriage. We talked about the dynamics of marriage last week, and if you missed it you might want to go and listen to it first and then come back to this one.

Today’s guest is the author of How can I lead if she doesn’t want to follow…. So stay tuned because we’ll be talking to him about his book and hearing some advice from him!

My purpose for today’s show was To help married couples be more unified and to help single listeners prepare to enjoy unity in marriage.

As I was preparing for today’s topic I saw something that said 1+1=1… and I thought hmmm That is exactly how God intended for marriage to be right… He commanded husbands and wives to be one.

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh (Genesis 2:24). And so our Heavenly Father wants our hearts to be knit together as one…

I’ve read that one of the reasons for such a high number of divorces in the first year is because most love is not realistic. And so, we’re going to talk about the roles of husbands and wives.

An important principle of unity in marriage is that husbands and wives should value each other as equal partners. Marriage, in its truest form, is a partnership of equals.

In today’s episode, we will be talking about faith and hope. What the difference between faith and hope is, and how do we use faith and not hope?

And my purpose is to inspire someone to try faith. And to also give a biblical understanding of faith.

Faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something. That’s Wikipedia’s definition of faith... Complete trust or confidence in someone or something.

I'm talking about the biblical principles of faith here… And when we think of the biblical principles of faith, it comes only through God’s word, and it comes only from God’s word.

**Faith starts, however, with the belief that God does exist and what He says can be depended upon

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing the word of God- and that Romans 10:17**

And so it simply means that faith comes from the word of God- Notice it did not say that faith comes by praying. So that means that you have to be listening to God’s word. You have to be in a position where you are hearing God’s word; you are reading God’s word and feeding His word to yourself.

Faith is God’s word, and it’s always based on God’s word…

It's not having faith in man; it’s not having faith in money; it’s not having faith in a job…. The biblical principle of faith is having faith in God’s word.

And anything that is not based on the word of God is not biblical faith.
