The Out Of The Mines Podcast is about getting better at the X-Wing Miniatures game, brought to you by Tin Squadron with our usual brand of near-professionalism. Join us and our guests as we analyse our games to see where we went wrong and how we can improve in future matches. The goal is to release an episode a week which will run around 40 minutes and in which we will analyse a game and then lightly touch on any X-wing news. (Disclaimer: No Learning Guaranteed)
Episode 103 – A Gamble – Join Sam and Sean as they begin their practice for the upcoming Cornwall Store Championship. How has the results from the Welsh Open affected their lists? Have they refined or pivoted away? Join them to find out!
Episode 102- To The Top (Well Almost) – Join Sam and Sean as they review their performances at the recent Welsh Open. They will then review one of the games Sean played on stream vs the eventual winner John BL.
Episode 101 – Across the Bridge – Its last minute preparations for the Welsh Open! Join Sam and Sean as they get one more game to analyse before their trip to Cardiff. Today Sam wants to try out his list against some meta so Sean is flying some Rebels. Are Energy Shells good enough to fire Sam into the Top Cut? This game will hopefully give some insight.
Episode 100 – It’s Toby! We’re So Sorry Toby! - Join Sam and Sean this week for the 100th episode of their podcast! This week they thought they would do something a little fun and so are having a game of extended. Sean even convinced Sam not to play Separatists!
Episode 99 – My God Sean, remember to shoot with your ships! - Join Sam and Sean as they review another game in the preparations for the upcoming Welsh Open. This week Sean is trying out some Tie Bombers against Chris Burnett’s Rebels.
Episode 98 – Flexing – Join Sam and Sean as they continue to review games and look at what's working since the new points drop. This week they review Sean’s final practice game for the Kirton Spring Championship, before then reviewing how he got on at the event and what he learnt from it.
Episode 97 – Not Enough Time For Practice – Join Sam and Sean as they get some practice in with the new points. What lists have they come up with? Will they be any good? Will Sam’s Separatists crush Sean’s Resistance? Lets find out!
Episode 96 – This Episode Is Not Pointless – Join Sam and Sean as they skip reviewing a game this week to have a look at the recently released point changes. What do they like and what do they love?
Episode 95 - Time To Abandon Ship - Join Sam and Sean as they review another game looking for mistakes and bad decisions. This week its another Sam vs Sean game, with Separatists vs Separatists, General Grievous vs General Grievous. Who will emerge the winner and who will slink off to lick his wounds? Join us and find out.
Episode 94 – Are You Sure I’m In Control? - Join Sam and Sean as they review another game from their local club night. This week they will be looking at a game Sean played vs fellow Tin Squadron member Snappy. Can Sean’s Imperials defeat the might of the Scum Firesprays? Join us to see what mistakes and misplays we can find and how the result of the game was affected by them.
Episode 93 – The Odds Are Not What You Think! - Join Sam and Sean as they review another game played at their local club night. They will be looking for mistakes and misplays and looking at how perception can skew the state of the game. This weeks Sean’s Imperials are taking on the Rebels flown by Chris Burnett.
Episode 92 – Keep An Eye On Sam’s Cheating – Join Sam and Sean as they review a recent game played at their local club night, looking for mistakes and improvements to be made. This week Sam’s droid swarm is facing of against Steve’s 5-X-wing list.
Episode 91 – Stupid Stupid Stupid – Join Sam and Sean for another reviewed game. This week Sean is continuing to look at options for his Yavin list, whilst Sam has decided to mix it up and is brining some Republic Z-95s!
Episode 90 – What If? - Join Sam and Sean as they perform a little experiment. They were wondering what would happen if you could get 4 Sith Infiltrators on the board. Or 3 Decimators for that matter. Well lets find out. 7 large base ships, what could go wrong?
Episode 89 – Swings and Roundabouts – Join Sam and Sean as they continue their list refinement. This week Sean is back on his Battle of Yavin List whilst Sam is enjoying some flight time with the Gauntlet fighter.
Episode 88 – This Is Not How To Play X-Wing - Join Sam and Sean as they take another look at a game in their tournament prep, look at how to improve their games and lists. This week Sean is is taking his Empire decimator list up against the Resistance flown by Chris Burnett.
Episode 87 – Apparently We Can’t Count – Despite thinking this was the 88th episode whilst recording, Join Sam and Sean for episode 87! This week they will be reviewing a game as they continue to practice and refine lists. This week Sean has swapped out the Reaper for more Ties and Sam thought it was unfair to keep bringing droid swarms so has brought something a little different.
Episode 86 – Preparing Already? - Join Sam and Sean as they begin to practice lists and set their sights on their next event, the Welsh Open at the end of June. Sam is continuing to refine his list from the Sith Taker Open and Sean has decided to play some imperials.
Episode 85 – A Weekend Away From The Kids! - Sam and Sean are joined this week by Kayleigh. They will not be reviewing a specific game, but will instead be talking about there experiences at the recent Sith Taker Open. Join them to see what they thought, where they went wrong (none won it, so it’s somewhere!) and how Kayleigh felt playing at her first large scale X-wing event.
Episode 84 – Have a Break – Join Sam and Sean as they take a break from the tournament prep. This week they shake it up with some different lists as we have Separatists vs Separatists.
Episode 83 – Worldwide or Local? - Join Sam and Sean as they continue to chart their progress through the Kyber Team Championship. This week, despite having over 90 worldwide teams, we’ve been drawn against the other half of Tin Squadron! So join us as we review Sam’s game against Mat Burnett as the Empire take on the Separatists.
Episode 82 – Fully Recovered – We’re Back! Join Sam and Sean after their week off, as they continue to review their journey through the Kyber Team Championship. This week they will be reviewing Sam’s Round 4 match with some prequel thematics. Its CIS vs Republic!
Episode 81 – Will It All Come Crashing Down? - Join Sam and Sean as they review another game. This week we will be going over the missteps in Sam’s Round 2 match from the Kyber Team Championship. It is Separatists Vs Rebels in a game of Assault at the Satellite Array.
Episode 80 – Kyber Blast Off! - Join Sam and Sean as they review Sean’s Round 1 match from the Kyber Team Championship. We’ll look through the game looking for improvements and mistakes and talk about how we’re doing in the event. Round 1 is Sean’s Scum vs Kylo Rene’s First Order.
Episode 79 – Distant Horizons – Sam and Sean are looking towards the rapidly approaching Sith Taker Open and trying to settle on lists to nail down some practice. They will be looking for mistakes and ways to improve the lists as they play. This week it’s a high initiative Republic mini-swarm vs a CIS Contingency Protocol list.
Episode 78 – New Year, Same Old Us – Join Sam and Sean as they continue their practice for the upcoming Kyber Team Event. This week normal service is resumed as its Sean vs Sam, Scum vs Separatists.
Episode 77 – Dice be Dice – Join Sam and Sean as they review another game looking for mistakes and improvements. Sam is trying out his Tri-fighters and this week Sean gets a break! Its Separatists vs the Empire.
Episode 76 – Straining For Victory – Join Sam and Sean as they begin their practice for the upcoming Hexiled Gaming tournament – The Kyber Team Championship. They will review the game looking for mistakes, how the lists should be played and the overall strengths and weaknesses of their lists. This week the Separatists take on Scum.
Episode 75 – Points Mean Prizes – Join Sam and Sean as they review Sean’s game against Top Tin, Chris Burnett. As always they will be looking for ways to improve and secure that all important win! This week its Republic vs Rebels.
Episode 74- My Lord, Is That Legal? - Sam playing Imperials? Sean playing Separatists? My God what has happened! Join them both as they cover a game, looking for where they’ve gone wrong with their decisions this week.
Episode 73 – Here We Go Again – It’s Round 2! Join Sam and Sean as they continue their practice from last week. This time Sam has brought a couple of droids full of plasma to face-off the decimators!
Episode 72 – A Decimation of Decimators – Join Sam and Sean as they recount how the Allies of Convenience went. They then review a game, this week Sean’s Imperials are taking on the Droid Swarm!
Episode 71 – And Now For Something Completely Different – Have you ever wondered how devastating an Electro-Proton Bomb can be? Or what one person flying 12 droids would look like? Then join Sam and Sean as they review a game they played practising for the upcoming Duos event, Allies of Convenience.
Episode 70 – Even the Emperor is not that powerful – Join Sam and Sean as they resuming normal service reviewing games, looking for mistakes and improvements that can be found. This week they review a game between Sean and Tony. Sean will be trying out his last unplayed faction and will see what the mighty Galactic Empire can do whilst Tony will be discovering they fun that Scum can bring to the table!
Episode 69 – I’m sorry, we lied. Despite promising to be back to normal service this week, that has not happened. Sam and Sean are joined by Chris Burnett to discuss the new Battle of Yavin content, and the slim points update that came along with it.
Episode 68 – Third Time’s The Charm – Sam is back from holiday! Join him and Sean as they review another game commentating on mistakes and misplays. This week neither of them are playing! They get to sit back and relax as they review Tin Squadron’s Steve Burnett play a recent game from the Sith Taker League. Can Steve’s plucky Rebels defeat the dastardly Scum & Villainy forces?
Episode 67 – Emergency Replacement Required! - Sam’s on holiday, so Sean is joined by fellow Tin Squadron member Tony Cameron. Join them as they review a game they’ve played picking up on where to improve. This week the might of the First Order takes on …….. the might of the First Order.
Episode 66 – Execute – Join Sam and Sean as they review another game looking for where they’ve gone wrong and screwed up. This week Sam is still trying to prove Firesprays are rubbish and Sean is dipping into the First Order. (Spoilers: He net-listed)
Episode 65 – The Republic Rises – Join Sam and Sean as they review a game looking for mistakes and misplays, always on the lookout for ways to improve. This week they review Sean’s match from the recent Korriban GSP qualifier as the Republic takes on the Galactic Empire
Episode 64 – La Resistance – Join Sam and Sean as they review Sam’s recent Tin League game against Jon Vicary. They will be on the look out for mistakes and errors as the Separatists take on the Resistance, in a Prequel – Sequel duke it out.
Episode 63 – Pew Pew Boom – Join Sam and Sean as they once again review a game played, looking for mistakes and misplays. This week Sam takes on returning Tin Squadron pilot Tony, as the Separatists take on the First Order.
Episode 62 – It’s Not How You Start – Join Sam and Sean as they embark on another review of a game recently played, looking out for ways they could improve and where games can swing. This week they review Sean’s Round 1 game from the recent GSP Oriron Qualifier as the Republic take on a 3-ship Scum list.
Episode 61 – Who Let The Dogs Out? - Join Sam and Sean as they review another game, looking for mistakes and errors. This week is Sean’s penultimate Tin League match, against Champion Elect, Chris Burnett. Sean is trying to secure 2nd place in the league, whilst also trying to stop Chris rampaging through his opponents undefeated.
Episode 60 – How Quickly Fortunes Can Change – Join Sam and Sean as they review another game they have recently played. They dissect each moved and decision and see where they can improve for the future. This week Sean is continuing his Republic practice, whilst Sam sees if he can get the full worth out of a Firespray (or two).
Episode 59 – That’s The Wrong Obi-Wan – Join Sam and Sean as they review Sean’s latest Tin League match against Liam Burnett. As always they will be looking for mistakes and misplays and have a good laugh at all the rules that were bent or broken in this game!
Episode 58 – A Matter of Luck – Join Sam and Sean as they review another game they have played recently and talk about how much difference there can be between two matches with the same lists.
Episode 57 – A Never Ending Beginning – Join Sam and Sean as they review another game looking back for mistakes, misplays and ways they can have improved and changed the result. This Week Anakin and his clones take on DBS-32C and a host of droids!
Episode 56 – Lazy List Building – Join Sam and Sean as they play a couple of lists pinched from Metawing as they both decided to mix it up a little. They will be looking for mistakes, missed triggers and ways to improve as they review this game.
Episode 55 – Finally its Sean’s Turn – Join Sam and Sean as they finally review a game that isn’t Sam’s Kyber run! This week Sean plays fellow Tin Sam ‘Snappy’ Gaunt as he practices for the upcoming Malachor event from GSP.
Episode 54 – The Highest of Highs – Join Sam and Sean as they review uncharted territory, Sam’s Top 8 Kyber Cup Match. They will be looking for mistakes and bad decisions to see if they can improve in future matches.
Episode 53 – The Cut Gets Thinner – Join Sam and Sean as they continue to review Sam’s Kyber Cup Run. This Week is the Top 16 so lets see what they pick up on!
Episode 52 - The Pressure is Back! - Join Sam and Sean as they continue to review a game played over the last week, looking as always for mistakes and misplays! This week we continue Sam’s Kyber Run as we review his top 32 cut match.
Episode 51 – The Pressure Is Off – Join Sam and Sean as they see if Sam can go undefeated as they review Sam’s Round 5 Kyber Cup match as Sam pushes to top Swiss.
Episode 50 – Is 50 the new 30? - Join Sam and Sean to find out! Have we learned anything over the past twenty weeks? We review Sam’s Round 4 Kyber match to have a look.
Episode 49 – Manaroo’s Last Hurrah – Join Sam and Sean as they review Sean’s Round 3 Kyber Cup match, playing the Assault at the Satellite Array Scenario. They will be picking up on mistakes and ways to improve as they discuss the game.
Episode 48 – Our Two Cents – Join Sam and Sean as they review Sam’s 3rd round match from the Kyber Cup. Nitpicking over all the details as always looking for mistakes. We then briefly discuss the new games rules and points updates singling out a couple of bits we like the look of.
Episode 47 – We need to talk about your Connor Nets – Join Sam and Sean as they review Sam’s Round 2 Kyber Cup match, playing the scramble the transmissions scenario, looking for any mistakes along the way. We then have a brief talk about the Kirton Games Store Championship that Sean attended over the weekend.
Episode 46 – Life’s A Breeze – Join Sam and Sean, as they review Sam’s Round 1 match from the Kyber Cup as Sam aims to continue his recent run of good form.
Episode 45 – A Cup Full of Mistakes – Join Sam and Sean as they review a recently played match from the Kyber Cup, looking for mistakes, misplays and ways they can improve for the coming rounds. In this episode we review Sean’s Round 1 Chance Encounter Match.

Episode 39 – A 2.5 Event – Join Sam and Sean as they get some last minute practice in for their first event under the new rules, the Tin Squadron Store Event – The Return of the Tournament.
Episode 38 – New Blood – Sam and Sean are joined by new x-wing pilot Liam, to review a recently played game between Liam and Sean and to discuss how Liam as a new player is finding X-wing and the new rules.
Episode 37 – Triggers! - Join Sam and Sean as they continue their exploration of the new rules, looking for what's good and what's not, as well as any mistakes and misplays during the game.

They then look forward to the next 6 months to see where they think some improvement can still be found!

Episode 21 – The Tins make their own trophy? Join Sam and Sean as they discuss how the Tins have become so desperate to win something they’ve resorted to making their own trophies. Or in other words a review of the Kernow Cup.
Episode 20 – We are Blessed – Sam and Sean are joined by the Supreme Leader of Tin Squadron as he reviews Sean’s performance in his last Balance of the Force match.
Episode 19 – The Tins on Point(s) – Join Sam and Sean as they review one of Sam’s games looking for mistakes and improvements and also they have a slight discussion on the new points and what they’re looking forward to!
Episode 18 – The Tins Bring Balance - Join Sam and Sean as they review a round 1 game from the Balance of the Force 2 tournament, looking back as usual for mistakes and misplays as they continue their never ending search for a way to drag themselves out of the mines!
Episode 17 – Bye Bye Bids – Sean and Sam are joined by the Burnetts three as they talk about all the reveals from the recent X-wing stream during the AMG Ministravaganza!
Episode 16 – Hunting For Tri-Fighters – Sean has finally recorded a game! So he and Sam take their usual glance over looking for mistakes and misplays and where improvements could be made. Well at least one of them did, one was not paying attention apparently!
Episode 15 – A Cosmic Encounter – Sam and Sean analyse a game Sam has played this week in the Kyber Cosmic League. As always, they’ll be looking for mistakes and ways to improve both in the game and following through the Turn 0 plans.
