There's nothing quite like SDCC. I've been to conventions of all types—big ones, small ones, first-year conventions, conventions running for longer than I've been alive—but few conventions have evolved quite like this one. S
Daichi Minatsu, following in the footsteps of his departed astronaut father, willfully takes on the duty to pilot the Earth Engine and join the fight to repel an interstellar invasion by the immortal Kiltgang, an alien race subsisting on human life-force to maintain eternal life....
Transfer student Yu Narukami arrives in the quiet rural town of Inaba, where rumors abound of a mysterious “Midnight Channel” that appears during rainy nights. Together with several new classmate friends,
Since its inception, the superhero genre has been the playground of the male power fantasy. With their extraordinary abilities, superheroes exert control in an uncontrollable world. They function outside the law and society, beholden only to an honor code they impose upon themselves. Instead of being limited by their tragic backstories, they rise above them and seek to right the wrongs the villains of the world committed against them.
I found about the first half of episode 05 to be a bit boring. It involved a lot of exposition and awkward small-talk, but that was sort of just the nature of the orienteering event. The episode definitely picked up, though. I really enjoyed Aya's optimistic view of the whole event as a "happy memory."
Aaaannd ToQger is still stuck in the figurative station with no real story development. I was really hoping for things to pick up and actually happen by now, but no such luck. The only bright side is that I am still entertained nonetheless, but even that entertainment is starting to dwindle.
Psycho Red was able to catch up with Jason Faunt, the Red Time Force Power Ranger at Power Morphicon 2014 for an exclusive interview.
Psycho Red was able to catch up with Jeffrey Parazzo, the White Dino Thunder Power Ranger at Power Morphicon 2014 for an exclusive interview.

Psycho Red was able to catch up with Erin Cahill, the Pink Time Force Power Ranger at Power Morphicon 2014 for an exclusive interview.
So far, I have found Ao Haru Ride to be very engaging. I really want for Futaba to be able to right things with Kou, so I find his stubborn mentality to be very frustrating. He seems so nihilistic... This series really seems like it will be very touching - it has been thus far, even one episode in.
This year, AnmeSecrets was able to attend the annual Cosplay Contest at MechaCon X on Saturday afternoon. Below is a video of the whole show. Disclaimer, we may be missing one or two walk ons, and a skit due to changing batteries and or SD cards during the show.

It's been about two years since Sword Art Online ended and waves of fans began waiting anxiously for the next season. As you may recall, I concluded the first season of SAO with some major issues. First of all, the last two episodes irked me with the graphic nature of the scenes, and the resolutions were downright weak. Secondly, I felt like Asuna's character went from a glorious warrior to a housewife for no good reason.
This season of Mushi-shi has been a much darker, colder take on the mushi so far, but episodes 8 through 10 do much to shake the chill off. Winter remains a prominent theme in all three, but in each episode the lessons seem to focus on ‘just because you can doesn’t mean you should’ and the innate balancing act that is nature.
During Akon 25, Rizwan, Kara, Mika and Kitty were able to catch up with Kyle Hebert for an interview. Below is the video of it.
The middle run of Mushi-shi's second season takes both a darker turn and an upswing into more familiar territory. Episode five is the interesting tale of a woman who becomes tied to a mushi and must struggle for her sense of identity, but even this seems light in comparison to episode six.
In less than two weeks, AnimeSecrets.org will be hosting and operating a Photo Suite at Louisianime 2014 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Professional photographs will be taken by Rogue Pixels Photography for anyone with a valid Louisianime 2014 pass, and prints will be sold on-site.
In short, episodes five through seven introduce the audience to a new core friend named Saki Yamagishi, to Fujimiya’s mother (and the story behind Fujimiya’s memory problem), and finally to Hase craving some alone time with Fujimiya and freaking out about summer vacation.
The biggest downfall of this series is that it does not follow a tight storyline or chronology, so episodes can greatly vary in their ability to hold interest. When it is on its game though, I really love the series.
Today was the much anticipated World Cosplay Summit US Finals Round at Anime Central in Chicago, Illinois. The competition today would be picking Team USA 2014, who would go on to compete on the international stage of this contest in Japan later this year! To say the least, the stakes were very high.

On the west coast, Mike and Diana are a team called Bejitaballz Cosplay. They cosplay under the names Badman and Binkx. These are their interview answers. (dun dun!)
The Donkey Kong Country series has always been a franchise that has been loved by the Nintendo faithful. The series has never been known for its breathtaking stories, though having the story this time not revolve around the theft of Donkey Kong’s banana horde is a bit of fresh air. Tropical Freeze introduces a new group of villains to the Donkey Kong lineup: the Snomads, a group of Viking-themed animals.
One Week Friends started out with an interesting premise of friendship transcending short term memory loss problems, but as of episode 4, it’s beginning to feel more like a gimmick and less like an actual obstacle. It’s unfortunate because the first episode set something great up, but the subsequent episodes are building on that initial framework while at the same time turning Fujimiya’s disability into a conditional nuisance and convenient story telling device.
Sakura-Con is a three day convention held in Seattle, Washington on April 18th to the 20th at the Washington State Convention Center.
This was the first year for The South Texas Comic Con, a two day convention located in McAllen, Texas at the McAllen Convention Center, on April 26th -27th, 2014. This convention went above and beyond my expectations for a convention’s first year.
Cute Cosplay Cosplay is comprised of two Louisiana Cosplayers SanctuaryMemories and Oolala Cosplay, selected to compete in the 2014 World Cosplay Summits - USA Finals. The winner of this competition will travel to Japan for the International World Cosplay Summit and compete for America against representatives of the other countries involved in the WCS.
A shared burning passion for costuming, performing, and all things magical are just a few reasons why the cosplay duo Kirayume was formed. Daydreamer Nessa (Nessa) and Sparkle Pipsi (Suzanne) have been avid fans of Japanese animation and video games since childhood, and both ladies became seamstresses to express that love through costume-making.
With the release of episode four, Mushi-shi is now a quarter of the way through its second season and while the tone of the stories has changed, the method and pacing remains the same as the first season. The first four episodes cover darker stories, all relating to the death of a person close to the featured characters.
Hello! My name is Mandi, or Teca, if you like cosplay names. I’m twenty-eight and I live in Denver, Colorado! I’m about as stereo-typically extroverted as you can get. I love meeting new people and talking for hours and hours.
I’m from Denver, CO, and still live there. I have a husband, an identical twin, and an evil poodle. My day job is in oil & gas, and I enjoy it very much!
Otakon Vegas was an interesting beast of a con: a small, intimate convention focused mainly on fan-run events, run by the same corporation as one of the largest anime conventions in America. I was fortunate enough to have an excuse to be in Las Vegas around New Year’s, allowing me to attend the nascent convention.
I'm Cat-chan and I'm a cosplayer. I love making costumes and attending cons all over the country! (but mostly in Texas). I am a professional graphic designer by day, specializing in digital design for multi-touch platforms. I am also a bit of a couch potato and love watching TV and reading manga. I have two very frisky cats (Karma and Yourichi) and a wonderful Husband I enjoy spending most of my time with.
Without doubt, you can find a smart phone application for almost anything—including our beloved spandexed or armored heroes in Japan. Here's a run-down of some official tokusatsu apps and their purpose!
Cupcake Cosplay is composed of cosplayers Breathlessaire and Starlighthoney. These two ladies won the USA Finals of the World Cosplay Summit in 2013 and represented our country in the International Finals at Japan last summer, and came back with the Brother Industries LTD sponsored award, along with Second Place overall!
Like reuniting with old friends or picking up a conversation years later as if no time had passed at all, Mushi-shi (Sequel Series) continues its tradition of meditative stories and soft-spoken, thought-provoking concepts enhanced by beautiful backgrounds and beautiful music.
Juri is the only woman in a position of true institutional power in Revolutionary Girl Utena. By all appearances, she has everything: she’s beautiful, treasurer of the powerful Student Council, captain of the fencing team, and she has the respect and adoration of not only the student body, but the faculty and administration as well. And yet, rage seethes and simmers just under her placid surface.
My name is Luis Fernando López Álvarez; I am from Costa Rica. I am 29 years old, my zodiac sign is Gemini. I really love and enjoy making cosplay, especially together my nephew. I love anime since my first years like a child. My favorite anime have always been Dragon Ball and my favorite character is Goku and always is gonna be Goku.
This year, Anime Matsuri was held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston, Texas from March 14-16, 2014. Now, Anime Matsuri has become a big name in Texas anime conventions since its beginning in 2007. They were notorious for promising big and delivering little, and even I had been warned about the cancellation of panels, guests, long line times and overall disorganization.
We are pleased to announce that after many months of work, AnimeSecrets.org is now a property of Digital Phoenix Productions LLC. Now that the site has entered this exciting new phase, we’ve decided it’s time for us to do some growing! We’re looking to bring on some new writers and editors to round out our staff and give us the greatest chance at success moving forward.
My name is Kayla, but I also go by the name of Avalon Cosplay. I’m 22 years old, an art graduate, and a cosplayer based out of Orange County, New York. I’ve been interested in cosplay since high school (about 6 years now), but only started getting into it around three years ago. I loved it since the beginning and there’s no way I’m stopping now.
My name is Alex Bradford but in the cosplay community, I’m known as Alaska. The reason for choosing that for my cosplay name is because I moved her from Alaska. When I got to know people, I just told them to call me Alaska because I thought it was a cool nickname. I was born in Texas but moved to Alaska when I was 7. in Texas but moved to Alaska when I was 7.
Agent Kouichi Kimura recently attended the World Cosplay Summit and brought back a video of the entire contest.
Drake interviews Greg Weisman the Creator of Gargoyles at MechaCon IX in New Orleans, Louisiana, about his time with the Gargoyles and Young Justice Series, and his future plans.
Cassie England, an amateur cosplayer from Baton Rouge whose passion for anime helped her cope with a devastating rare skin disease whose real name (Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa) is so hard to pronounce that it’s often shortened to “E.B.”, passed away January 10th at the age of 16. Her spirit, name and likeness will live on in the film "Black Hat"
Well, I used to be a stage actress…and since I stopped that cosplaying was the next closest thing to my interests. I often cosplay characters I have the personality of or just characters I fall in love with from any media. I love seeing the sparkle in peoples’ eyes when they see some of their favorite characters come to life.
I started cosplaying because I was interested in people who dressed up as the anime characters. I started asking one of them how to be a cosplayer, then I continued to search around for shops where I could buy wigs, costumes, and stuff.
