Episode 496 The S&P 500 is just 2% from a record high but over 63% of stocks are in a correction, down by more than 10%. If you’re looking for bargains, you don’t have to wait for the market to tank, the bargains already exist. Don’t try to perfectly time the market. Early this year when the market was at a top, I bought and it worked out just fine. I’m not saying to rush out and buy, I’m currently sitting on over 20% cash. But I’m also not afraid to add to my positions because I have a long term perspective and stay diversified.

Episode 495 Last Friday’ panic didn’t last long. I’ve been hoping for a pullback to buy the dip; but even if that doesn’t happen, that just reiterates the strength of this market. Bottom line, leadership remains strong and it’s mostly focused on the ancillary AI trade. What I call the convergence of Industrials and Tech.

The Dow Jones Industrial average is up over 5% year to date. And better than that, performance is expanding beyond the dozen stocks that had been driving the rally. So far, the equal weight Tech index is outperforming the NASDAQ by nearly 2x.

Episode 459: Inflation numbers keep coming in higher than “expected”. The Fed will likely not cut rates as much as anticipated in 2025. The Market hasn’t been happy about that. Beyond inflation there are several issues which could impact the stock market early next year, expect a more business friendly environment with less antitrust actions and rolling back of the Chevron Doctrine.

Episode 368: Value is a better word than cheap, but it isn’t as good of an attention getter. Here are five large cap stocks that I own and I believe they are valuable because they have a favorable price to future growth ratio: GE, GS, IBM, MU & SCHW.
Episode 362: Contrary to the Wall Street myth, bonds and specifically bond funds are not “safe”. There are a number of risk factors, and today’s dominant risk is a rising interest rate environment.
Episode 356: Ignore the crisis du jour, and fortify your portfolio with quality, diversification, and especially US equities.
Episode 355: How should you handle an individual stock collapse? In this episode I’ll discuss how I’m dealing with a 80% loss in SelectQuote.
Episode 351: The way that 2022 is beginning is likely the way it will end…volatile & profitable. In this episode I discuss why I believe that stock valuations can support further growth in the economy and the stock market.
Episode 346: I’m not at all concerned about the stock market selloff that happened on Black Friday. In fact, the rally will likely continue even longer, because now the FED will be more hesitant to raise interest rates.
In this episode I discuss the two primary drivers of COVID inflation…and neither have anything to do with FED monetary policy. This temporary, transient inflation is being caused by:
lack of ImmigrationInheritance…the greatest generational transfer of wealth in history.
Episode 344: Stocks are at record highs at the same time that 3rd Qtr GDP was way below estimates. Join me today as I discuss free market economics along with a stock market review.
Episode 340: There wasn’t a stock market correction in September and I think it’s highly unlikely there will be one in October. In this episode I’ll highlight names of companies that I own that have done well during this period of “seasonal volatility”.
Episode 339: My mantra hasn’t changed…buy the dip. In this episode I’ll discuss positive harbingers for the stock market, including how hotel stocks like Hilton and Marriott are outperforming the general stock market.
Episode 338: The media narrative this month is that a September or October stock market correction is inevitable. Maybe…maybe not.
Episode 336: Small Caps & ReOpening Trade stocks have been underperforming…but I remain optimistic and continue to “buy the dip”. The two factors that are driving the most fear right now are mutually exclusive- 1) ReOpening slowdown due to COVID Delta Variant & 2) Federal Reserve tightening the money supply by tapering next month. Logic dictates that these two events can’t happen simultaneously, because if the economy is slowing, then the FED won’t taper.
Episode 334: Since August 2020 the S&P 500 has climbed a COVID wall of worry consistently putting in new record highs. I expect that to continue, with temporary bouts of turbulence, along with limited upside potential as we close out 2021. However, I think vast amounts of opportunity still exist in the more value oriented, cyclical and ReOpening favored stocks that have taken a dip on fears of COVID Variants. In this episode I’ll also discuss the difference between investing and speculation.
Episode 329: The latest Media driven fear factor is that variants of Covid will squelch the economic recovery. I think the anxiety will be short lived, just like last month’s propaganda about hyperinflation.
NOTE to the Inflation Distraught: 10 Year Treasuries have dropped down to 1.3%, hardly an indicator of rampant inflation.
Episode 326: The subtitle to this episode could be: Why lumber prices are so high but timber prices are so low.
Bottom line, the media narrative of hyperinflation is much ado about nothing.
Over the short term, I don’t see the FED raising interest rates nor curtailing easy monetary policy. Transitory inflation is being caused by short term shortages, not long lasting scarcity.
The “experts” were wrong in 2018 when they said the “inverted yield curve” would cause a recession, and they’re wrong now about hyperinflation.
For a historical perspective, listen to this episode from October 2018: https://www.wealthsteading.com/276
Episode 325: A lot of the financial news coverage is negative focusing on shortages and price & wage inflation. But technically I think the major indexes are performing well and a great deal of opportunity still exists in the ReOpening Stocks.
Episode 324: In this episode we’ll look at current market conditions in light of investor psychology and especially drill down into the reasons why YOU keeping missing opportunities in the stock market.
Episode 322: Did you miss the post-election stock market rally? Well, the easy money has already been made, but there are still MANY opportunities. In this episode I discuss potential that still exist in the COVID90 portfolio.
Episode 320: The rotation rally looks like it has fizzled. The S&P 500 keeps failing at its 50dma. That’s a good indication that the market is headed lower.
Episode 319: The stock market has fallen for three straight weeks. There are mixed signals that this selloff could simply be a Rotation out of overbought Tech stocks and into Value and Cyclicals.
On the other hand, with over 41% of the S&P 500 already in a Bear market, maybe the Correction has just begun.
Episode 316: The market took a big tumble today. Is this just a normal September swoon? Or are we headed for a more drastic correction?
Episode 314: The Market has been incredibly resilient over the past month but I believe it could easily stumble into a rapid decline if investor sentiment turns sour. In this episode I discuss the rationale for prudent investing and give specific examples of why I recently purchasing Tyson Foods and also lessons learned from swing trading the Great Recession of 2008.
Episode 313: The COVID death toll is over 100K, unemployment is nearing 20%, and protesters are rioting and burning the cities…yet the stock market keeps going up.
Will this rebound rally continue? Or are we headed for a major downturn this summer? I’m concerned that just as the market was oversold with COVID hysteria, now there’s irrational exuberance about the re-opening of the economy.
Episode 311: In this episode I discuss how I’m planning to re-balance my portfolio to take advantage of what I believe will be an inevitable recovery.
Episode 307: Wuhan coronavirus is still in the news but the S&P 500 is setting record highs. WHY? There are a number of reasons this market is so resilient- short covering, Chinese monetary policy, and most importantly the growth and profitability of the Tech sector.
Episode 302: The S&P 500 closed above 3120 for the first time, continuing a six week winning streak. In this episode I’ll discuss the next 7% move, which could be either Up or Down.
Episode 300: In this episode I give a very simple example of the difference between an existential threat and a harmless policy decision problem.
Episode 299: Over the past eight trading sessions the S&P 500 has surged to within 1% of a record high. There are several explanations for the rally, with the primary reason being gestures coming out of China. Will this uptrend hold or is it just a dead cat bounce? All this and more in this episode.
Episode 295: Today the S&P500 dropped 3% on fears of an inverted yield curve. It’s been an extremely volatile two weeks, with switchbacks almost every other day. In this episode I’ll review the key events driving the turbulence and explain the entry point that I’m looking for to buy this dip.
Episode 293: Today the FED cut rates and postponed their Quantitative Tightening program. The move was much anticipated and therefore we saw a typical “buy the rumor, sell the news” reaction. The S&P500 was down over 1% and broke below 3000.
Should you be worried? I’m not. All that and more in this episode.

Episode 292: The month of June has been a textbook example of a counter trend rally. The S&P500 dropped around 7% from the April high, bottomed out on June 3, then went on to make an all time new record high.

Episode 279: December 2018 was the worst stock market performance since the Great Depression…January 2019 is turning out to be one of the best.
What’s driving the bipolar personality of this market? Just the same old schizophrenic internal battle between fundamentals and investor sentiment.
In my opinion, 2018 was characterized as a market driven down by irrationally poor investor sentiment, while the actual market conditions have been sound. See this YouTube video for an illustration of S&P 500 fair market value: https://youtu.be/36-148xJNBM
Bottom line, I believe fundamentals are sound and for now, interest rates will remain moderate enough to keep things moving along.

Episode 278: The market is in full blown correction and within a few percent from a Bear market. Will it get worse before it gets better? I have no idea…and neither does anyone else. But I believe this market has solid fundamentals…which is what I’ll discuss in this episode.

Episode 266: Major indexes are recovering from the past few months of gloom & doom…the NASDAQ and Russell2000 are at record highs. Episode 265: I start this episode with a quick market review and rundown of the crisis du jour and then recommend a book for summer reading.
Reminiscences of a Stock Operator is a must read classic for any serious student of investing. It’s a quick read, narrative story that’s loosely based on the real life speculator & trader Jesse Livermore (1877-1940).
Here’s my favorite Jesse Livermore quote:
The game of speculation is the most uniformly fascinating game in the world. But it is not a game for the stupid, the mentally lazy, the person of inferior emotional balance, or the get-rich-quick adventurer. They will die poor.

Episode 264: The S&P500 is back up above its 100 day moving average. Will it hold this time? I think so, because the boogeyman of wage inflation seems to be held at bay.
Wall Street LOVEs wage stagnation and that appears to be what we have. We’ll cover that and more in this episode including how you can get a raise.

Episode 261: Has the volatility of the past eight weeks subsided and was a bottom put in? Maybe. The S&P500 held its 200dma and has remained above the February 9, 2018 low.
In this episode I’ll discuss market conditions in reference to simple moving averages and specifically how stock charts can act as road maps. They can point us in the general direction, but they can't predict the future.

In this episode I’ll discuss what I’ve purchased and possible strategies.

Episode 251: The S&P500 is up 20% since last November’s Presidential election and volatility has been extremely muted with no more than a 3% pullback all year. The market since 2009 has been extremely resilient, regardless of an Obama or Trump administration. Over the past 18 months, global markets have also shown growth.
Currently tax policy uncertainty has some pundits frazzled, but overall market conditions appear favorable. Interest rates, energy and commodities are all within global growth sweet spots. As such, corporate profits are doing well and at the end of the day, despite all the gloom and doom…profits are all that matters.

Episode 211: I still expect this rally to fade given the existence of the same problems the economy has faced since the Financial Crisis of 2008. No, I’m not expecting an economic collapse but stock and bond prices are at extremely high valuations. That almost always results in a sharp correction, usually during a recession.
In this episode I’ll review some of the ongoing issues in light of President Trump.

Episode 208: The stock market has been in a long consolidation trend for about the past 24 months. If you have been using a buy & hold strategy over that timeframe your total annual S&P500 return (including dividends) is probably less than 3%.
To receive that miserly rate you’ve had to suffer through two double-bottom corrections.
Today we’ll discuss this consolidation trend and a little about the concept of ALPHA- risk adjusted returns.

Episode 184: In 2015 the market was supported by a handful of stocks, namely FAANG- FaceBook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix & Google. Now only Facebook and Amazon remain above their 50dma.
Just like last year, the indexes appear stable although many leading names are well off their 52 week highs. Sector rotation is switching from “safe stocks” like Utilities & Consumer Staple to a weekly favored sector and then back to “safe”.
Energy & Materials stocks had a nice run but now Materials are breaking down. Will Energy start to drop as the “dash for trash” recovery fades?

Episode 174: Fighting authority usually isn’t a good idea…I have scars to prove it.
Apple’s stock could be in jeopardy if it doesn’t comply with the FBI. I think a compromise could be reached that would actually be very beneficial to Apple.

Episode 167: Today the S&P500 closed near support at 1850, which is my delineation between the likelihood of a Correction or a full blown Bear market.
(see: http://www.investablewealth.com/correction-or-bear/ )
We’ll have to wait and see how this works itself out. Now is not the time to panic, a prudent investor would have already taken precautions. In this episode I draw the analogy of checking the flashlight batteries before the lights go out.
It’s also important to remember that there is nothing new effecting this market. As a refresher, listen to the below previous episodes to understand what’s causing this correction and ways to deal with it:

Since I can’t provide you with a forecast, I’ll give you a no-cast covering my thoughts on what’s happening in the current market correction. And also discuss the importance of historic data and simple moving averages.

Episode 164: The stock market is sitting on a razor’s edge…will it recover and rally up or is it doomed for a bear market? It’s likely to have a relief rally briefly before it drops to new lows. BUT NO ONE KNOWS FOR CERTAIN.
The market is at an inflection point, full of uncertainly and there is no safe place to hide:
GOLD: The fear index is up but Gold can’t get much above $1100. OIL: There’s trouble in the Middle East with the Saudis and Iran but Oil is below $32. COMMODITIES: In general, I believe we’ll see commodities regress back to the mean of pre-Housing Boom prices, ie average prices prior to 2005. US DOLLAR: Countries throughout the world are devaluing their currency and yet the Dollar index can’t break above 100. TREASURES: Despite Fed tightening, the 10yr yield is under 2.15% but if you buy TLT you’re in effect “fighting the Fed”. EARNINGS: Corporate earnings and GDP growth continue to be revised down but the market continues to trade at high valuations. SENTIMENT: The Bears have a slight edge on the Bulls but professional buying of the “dip” seems to be waning. VALUE: Defensive value stocks are trading at extremely high valuations- MO 21PE; PG 19PE. LEADERSHIP: Google, Facebook, Disney, Tesla…are fading. SMALL CAP: The Russell 2000 has fallen below the August flash crash and is testing the lows from the Oct 2014 correction. FOREIGN: Europe, Japan, and Emerging markets are all reeling.
Keep watch on GROWTH in China…not their stock market. Oil is likely to drop well below $30 before stabilizing at around $45 once the Chinese economy is steady.

Alpha is the measurement of performance on a risk adjusted basis. As a simple (and graphic) illustration, consider the risk/reward associated with the game of Russian Roulette.

Episode 159: Market volatility continues ahead of this week’s Fed FOMC meeting. Ignore the media hysteria on interest rates, instead focus on growth (or the lack of) in China. This is a reference episode, where I discuss current market conditions by referring back to previous shows that cover these intricate factors in detail. Bottom line, there are no easy answers or formulaic solutions. I use simple methods to chart stocks but my conclusions are restrained by the cold hard fact that the world is a complex place- no one can predict the future !!! So don’t DELUDE yourself or allow yourself to be swindled by an “expert”. As I’ve said for most of this year- the safest place to be is in CASH…this is not a recommendation but rather my personal POSITION.

Episode 157: (Part I) Bad news is again good news on Wall Street…the indexes were up 1% today on news of slowing US manufacturing and the hint of more stimulus from the European Central Bank.
In this two part series, I’ll discuss the global markets and then comment on 1) the IMF and the Chinese Yuan (RMB); 2) Brick & Mortar Retail sales are flat; and 3) and slowing US Manufacturing.

Episode 153: Two topics in this episode:
This very resilient market is firing on all cylinders because of a convergence that I don’t think will last- Terrorism in Europe has helped Aerospace/Defense and Energy stocks; Fed interest rate hike is helping Financials; Dollar is strong because of Housing and Consumer Discretionary. But expect the volatility to continue because these are not supportive, in fact they’re counter-trends that are likely to bring the market back down once optimism fades. Radio Infomercials- watch out for “guarantees” and hucksters claiming to know “secrets” of the rich…a fool and his money are soon parted.

Episode 144: The S&P500 has behaved well the past two weeks; it is currently trading above 2000 which was a key point of resistance. From a technical perspective, the market may be forming a double top…meaning that the next move is down. The S&P500 high point since the correction (Aug 24&25) was an intraday high of 2020.86 on Sep 17. During the past three sessions, the S&P500 has UNSUCCESSFULLY tried to top that high water mark. Volume has also been weak the past three sessions. I’m concerned about a pullback.
In this episode we’ll also discuss poor sector leadership and the threat of a false Oil/Commodity recovery.

Episode 142: This is part 2 of a two part series. The S&P500 is hovering around 1950, more than 7% below its previous baseline; three rally attempts have quickly faded. A successful fourth attempt can only occur if Q3 earnings are favorable. In this episode I discuss signs that I see as weakness and postulate about further declines, possibly in the 1700 range.

Episode 132: In this episode I explain why I remain long the US Dollar and discuss why I believe this market is likely to drop 15-20% with a good value (buy in) on the S&P500 at around 1810-1705ish.
But it’s not all gloom…this is a resilient market and any credible rumor of the Fed intervening with QE4 will bounce the market up.

Episode 124: In this episode we’ll touch on the likely (and risky) market recovery; downplay the significance of Greece (again); and emphasize my belief that the growth barometer is in China (for good or bad).
Over the past 35 years China’s mal-investments have caused overcapacity of industrial production/infrastructure (strike 1), overdevelopment of real estate (strike 2), and now a stock market Ponzi scheme (strike 3).

Episode 123: The S&500 sits about midway between two critical moving averages- it’s near 1% below the 100 dma and about the same percentage above the 200 dma. The money question is will it break up or break down?
This episode is a rapid fire discussion touching on all the things effecting the market: Greece, China, Puerto Rico, Commodities, Oil, US Dollar & the Swiss Franc.

Episode 122: The DOW has broken below its 50 dma and the S&P500 is hovering just barely above its.
More importantly, the S&P500 is only 0.5% above its 100 dma. If it breaks the 100 dma and doesn’t quickly recover, that’s a huge red flag because the 100 dma has been an extremely dependable support level.
That being said, this is an INCREDIBLY resilient market and two factors are in its favor:
Volume has been extremely tame during down days, so apparently institutional investors aren’t running for the exits. The 10 dma is comfortably above the 100 dma…last October when the index dropped nearly 10% it was precipitated by the 10 dma breaking below the 100 dma.

Episode 120: The S&P500 is again back below its 50 day moving average (dma)- not a good sign; however, today it did recover much of the morning’s losses closing in the upper 1/3 intraday range. Also, volume has been well below average during the most turbulent trading of the past week. So it’s a 50/50 call as to whether the index breaks down or up this week.
The 100 dma has been a strong support level for this market. Since January, support has only been narrowly breached 5 times. Presently the S&P500 is just below its 100 dma. For right now, that’s the key indicator- if support fails, it will most likely drop to the 200 dma around 2048. [As a reference, YTD the index has never dropped more than 0.75% below the 100 dma.]
Friday is options expiration, which could set the stage for a steeper drop in well above average volume, especially is fears over Greece continue.

Episode 118: The DOW is not only negative for the year, it’s also hovering just above its 200dma; the S&P500 is significantly below its 50dma; and the NASDAQ is struggling to hold its 50dma.
The positive news is that trade volume has been light, so there isn’t huge Institutional selling.
Is this foreshadowing of the long awaiting correction or just normal market vacillation?
Too early to call. This market has a distinct habit (PERSONALITY) of trading within a 3% range and pulling back around 6% before breaking out to new highs.

Episode 106: 401k employer sponsored retirement plans (much like 403b plans) have both good and bad features. Like all things economic, you have to make choices based on trade-offs.
The following is simply my personal opinion…it may not be relevant to your situation or preferences.
What I like about 401k:
Easy to set up a payroll contribution deduction through your employer. This encourages people to save by deducting the amount from their paycheck before they spend it. High contribution limits- under age 50: $18,000; over 50: $24,000 This is a good way to rapidly build up your retirement savings especially just prior to retirement or if you plan to get another job [assets can then be rolled over into an IRA/ROTH that offers more choices and lower fees]. ROTH accounts are now allowable. Employer match [this is essentially a 100% return on your money]
What I dislike about 401k:
Limited investment choices and designed inflexibility. These accounts are designed to encourage mutual fund buy & hold strategies. [My preference would be ETFs in an IRA/ROTH.] Most plans don’t even offer a money market as a cash equivalent. High fees. Although most fees are not readily visible, they’re there and are a major source for exorbitant profits to Wall Street. [My preference would be ETFs in an IRA/ROTH.] Targeted date funds. These are essentially mutual funds that allocate more of your assets into bonds as you get older. My problem with this is the illusion that bonds are SAFE- when interest rates rise, bond funds LOSE money. This is a positive to most people but not to me. The easier access is made to retirement savings the more people will spend it. Most employees also don’t realize that when they terminate employment, the loans must be repaid.
Bottom line- personally I would only contribute enough to receive the full employer match (this is a 100% return on your money) and then I would max out allowable contributes to a personal IRA/ROTH [which offers more choices and flexibility]. The exception to this would be if I were nearing retirement or knew that I’d be leaving the employer in a few years- then I would consider contributing up to the maximum limit, knowing in a few years I’d roll it over to an IRA/ROTH [that I would control].

Episode 98: S&P500 is trading below its 50 day moving average- half the people I talk to are buying “on the dips” thinking the market will go on to make new highs; the other half are going short in anticipation of a large correction.
I’m sitting on the fence. In this episode I discuss why I think the market is trading in a bracketed range with no discernable indication of forward trend or momentum. I remain mostly in cash, which is my favorite fallback positon.

Episode 97: In this episode we’ll do a market review, discuss why corporate earnings are declining, and the implications for the market April-August.
Two biggest factors effecting the market are: 1) 10% of S&P500 is made up of Energy Sector which are experiencing an earnings meltdown; 2) Strength of US dollar hurting earnings at US Exporters and Multinationals (disadvantaged currency exchange rate).
Earnings and the expectation of future earnings is the primary driver of stock prices.

Episode 94: Volatility has returned sooner than I expected. My profits from this run were eroding and so yesterday I liquidated almost all of my long positions. I continue to be short Gold, Oil and also just yesterday initiated a short on S&P500 (when it dropped below its 50 day moving average).
In this episode I discuss the importance of having the discipline to sell and take profits (or a loss).

Episode 91: The markets ended February nicely and volatility is down from the turbulence that was common at the beginning of the year. I’ll be watching for stability and a base to form in March to decide when to sell and take profits. I’m on-guard for things to fall apart when 1st Qtr earnings are released in April.

Episode 90: Like a Rorschach inkblot test, Wall Street interprets Federal Reserve comments to fit their narrative. Janet Yellen didn’t clarify when the Fed Fund rate would rise, so global markets are taking that as good news and generally moving up.
As always, watch the 10 year Treasury yield. It’s again below 2%. I’m assuming that baring an external shock, the markets will remain stable through March. Turbulence will return as we approach April when 1st Qtr earnings will disappoint. [Weak exports, unfavorable exchange rates, decline in Energy sector profits, and payroll headwinds at retailers like WalMart.] The summer should be rough with the Greece bailout extension expiring and a Fed Funds rate hike looming.
Oil popped today- in this episode I’ll discuss why I’m still short.

Episode 87: Watch the yield on the 10 year Treasury. As long as it stays above 2%, I think the market trend will continue to favor foreign stocks that export to the US and are energy dependent. I’m betting on commodities to fall further.

Episode 81: Extreme volatility has persisted throughout the first month of the year. Other than a few exceptions, I’ve decided to invest in the reciprocal of what’s ailing the US market- foreign nations that export to the US and consume oil.

Episode 75: The markets continue their volatility, up significantly one day and down the next. With no apparent short term trend discernable. Many factors are contributing to this volatility- global slowdown, ECB pending QE announcement, Switzerland’s recent currency move, instability in the energy sector, the pending Greek elections.
With all the turbulence in the market, I thought it would be a good idea in this episode to discuss the old Wall Street adage- Buy the Rumor, Sell the News.

Episode 72: Extreme volatility continues to rock the stock market. The battle being waged is a tug-of-war between whether lower oil prices will be good or bad for the economy. That’s what we discuss in today’s episode- short term pain and long term gain (if oil prices stabilize lower).

Episode 68: The market has been down the past four trading sessions, not a good way to start off the year. Both the S&P500 and NASDAQ are trading below their 50 day moving average.
My opinion is that this is more about the state of the global economy than about the price of oil. Today 10 year Treasuries hit 2.04%, that’s a sure sign of fear. Watch to see if the S&P500 can stay above 2016. If not, 1972 is the next stop on the way to the 200 day moving average at ~1955.

Episode 62 The Federal Reserve didn’t address any of the global issues but they did promise to be patient with raising interest rates and also mentioned that inflation could drop to as low as 1%.
The market likes cheap money and low energy costs so we’re back near all-time record highs on the S&P500. This was a very shallow and extremely short lived pullback, perhaps the market is changing personality and we’ll see more volatility and switchbacks in early 2015.

Episode 58: Today the S&P500 broke below its 50 day moving average, the NASDAQ is resting on its.
The 50 day line is a key indicator, watch to see if it ultimately acts as support for the indexes. If not the breach could result in a fall to the 200 dma (and below). That would take the S&P500 to about 1945, which in my humble opinion is likely since that’s less than a 2% drop. Today the S&P500 was down 0.63% with intraday fluctuation of 1.8%.
On Wednesday the Federal Reserve will hold a press conference- they’ll try to placate the markets. Watch to see the reaction of Wall Street. The Fed may be losing their grasp as the manipulator of last resort.
The real story is reflected in bond yields. The 10 year Treasury yield continues to drop, now at around 2.12%. That’s a sure sign of concern among major institutional investors. If they’re concerned, you should be too.

Episode 55: The bottom line- this week US Treasuries fell more than 8.5%, while at the same time consumer spending is accelerating. The Big Money is fearful of energy sector default (corporate & government). The panic has spilled over to non-energy related stocks. I've taken profits and will wait for the next opportunity.
