Welcome back everyone to a brand-new episode of "That Ol' Gay Classic Cinema". Today I am joined by Jay Jacobson as we discuss Alfred Hitchcock's Stranger on a Train. Jay praised Hitchcock's ability to immerse viewers through suspenseful techniques inspired by German Expressionism. Robert Walker's chilling performance furthered the intrigue. Jay and I discussed the many queer themes both the film and the novel portrayed, the novel depicted Bruno as gay, but the code required removal of this. Subtle cues like Walker's flirtatiousness with Granger still conveyed queer themes. Come join us as we discuss this seminal classic thriller!
