It takes a lot of courage to say "No". Saying "No" is easier said than done. In fact, most of us feel guilty when the situation clearly warrant us to say “No”, and yet, we might give in by not saying “No”.

This episode is about the different ways of saying "No" without being offensive to the other party. Setting boundaries to protect ourselves is extremely important, especially in situations that make us uncomfortable and know that it is not selfish or wrong to say “No”.

Like always, we welcome your "I said No" stories. Please share with us - IG @aitelle.ovpodcast or email us aitelle.ovpodcast@gmail.com Talk to you next week, ta-ta!

“$168m lost to top 10 scam types in the first half of 2021 (in Singapore); overall crime up by 11.2%”. Screamed the headline of ST Online, dated 30 AUG, 2021. Unbelievable right?

This week we talked about the money scams which we came across and heard about. We want to raise awareness, and hopefully, help someone avert falling into the money scam trap.

Let us all help to keep an eye in our community. If you come across any scam, please report it to the police.

“Show me the MONEY!” Tom Cruise made this line famous in Jerry Maguire. So, can money buy happiness? Some said money is the root of all evils, some said money is simply a needed “tool” for all things necessary.

This week, we talked about how we define $$$. How about you? Join us and let us know what you think.

Following the episodes on obsession on beauty and addiction, we thought we would like to talk about 2 very common eating disorder, anorexia and bulimia. It is a form of obsession with how one perceives his/her body image.

Eating disorder affects millions of people. Recently ST reported that eating disorder here is on the rise, besides stress and anxiety disorder during this Covid pandemic.

Eating disorder is another mental health issue that no one talks about. Sometimes we may suspect that someone we know maybe suffering from it, but it is just so hard to bring up the topic.

If you know of someone who is struggling with an eating disorder, here’s some resources:

Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, or does it lie in our own mind’s eyes? The definition of beauty keeps evolving, and today the standard of beauty is so bound by society’s values. It is so easy for us to conform to the so-called standard, and willingly be led by our nose, probably well-sculpted under the knife, to follow the fragile trends, no matter how unrealistic these standards are.

Some say beauty is when you feel comfortable in your own skin. Most women would not accept a compliment of her beauty with grace. We always can find something not beautiful about ourselves. There is always one part of us that we can compare to the next person we perceived as more beautiful than us. So how far would we go in the name of beauty?

It is a sensitive topic, and it was not our intention to offend anyone. Today’s conversation is just us looking at some stereotypes and purely our own exploration of our own journey of being beautiful.

Domestic Abuse Rates shot up in early 2020 when the whole world announced lockdown one by one. Home is supposed to be one's safe haven, not their personal war zone. It sucks that not everybody has their safe space. It sucks, even more, when the people who are supposed to be the ones protecting you, loving you, giving you comfort when you need it, turn out to be the ones who are hurting you.

We urge sufferers to stop suffering in silence.

"I'm sorry I won't do it again." for the tenth time. It's all lies.

"Don't tell anyone, it's our secret." Bullshit.

Please know you're not alone. Please know it's not the end of your world if you choose to save yourself and/or others. Please know you can seek help. Please know that Ai Nee & Christelle are here for you - to listen and chat, a safe space for you. (All DMs are strictly confidential & private, we promise.)

As spoken, here are some resources that you can use & share around with those in need:

For immediate advice & help:

We're back with a very vulnerable and real topic of all time - Parenting. We're not perfect. Nobody is perfect, our parents certainly aren't (or weren't [terribly sorry for your loss :( ]) perfect as well. We talked about our parents' parenting styles and how they affected us while growing up. Now that we're both adults, Ai Nee is already a mother of 2 and Christelle aspires to be a mother in the future, we have both shared the importance to look at life with self-awareness and understand the need to educate ourselves.

It's a pretty heavy topic this week and this topic went on for almost an hour (OMG!). If you're someone who grew up with a single parent too, we hope that our stories make it known that you are not alone and that you will be able to heal from this trauma (it takes time, honey) and forgive your parents for their mistakes (this also takes time).

Or perhaps you grew up with both parents, 3 parents maybe 4, or none, and your childhood still sucked - you're not alone too darling.

Or, you had absolutely loving parents and your childhood was great - you're really blessed, sweetheart, please know that and hopefully you'll do the same for your future children if you decide to become a parent yourself!

Join us in our 8th Episode (Oh my, how time flies! It's been 2 months already btw!), where we talk about our life choices pertaining Career and Family.

Ask yourself and your peers - if you have to make a choice, based on your current circumstances, would you put your Career on hold to build a Family now or build your Career first and consider Family later?

We're often so hard on ourselves because of society standards or pressure from friends and family, to the point where we forget that we need to live life on our own terms too. Because of a very simple reason, it's YOUR life, period. Honestly, there's no right or wrong choice, there's only different outcomes from the choice you make.

Listen in and see if you agree with Christelle or Ai Nee, and tell us your choice! We're here to spark conversations and hope to be able to build a community with you.

If you thought bullying only exists in among children or teenagers, think again my friend! You can be 40 years old and still be bullied. It's not something to be ashamed of, but it is really important to put a stop to your bully's nonsense. Know your rights and stop suffering in silence!

In this episode, we touch on real life examples of Workplace Bullying and some tips to consider if you're in a similar sticky situation that you're not sure how to get out of.

And this week's episode is about Friendships! And no, it's not the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. TV Series that we're chatting about in this episode. (Sorry to disappoint you, boo! Fun fact: Christelle is a huge fan of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. TV Series too!)

So, listen in as we talk about the different kinds of friends we had in the past and have right now. As the both of us are in different life stages, so naturally we have different views about friendships and different sets of friends.

Do you have different categories of friends or friends are just friends to you? We only touched the very surface of different kinds of Friendships, if you have a story of your own to share with us, do tell!

Direct Message on Instagram or drop us an email :)

This week's episode might be a little random and specific - well, let's be honest, would you get offended? Perhaps being offended might be a little too exaggerating when it comes to describing your feelings. How about feeling weird or uncomfortable? Or are you totally fine with it?

Share with us your views, thoughts and if you do have your own stories based on your personal experience, please - do send us a message or email, we'd love to hear from you!

Welcome to the second episode! We had to make some shifts in our episodes line up, so this week, we will be talking about Doxxing.

As Singapore's covid situation worsens, we're in Phase 2 (Heightened Alert). Most people are back to Work From Home and Home Based Learning  modes. Tension is high, anxiety spreads like wildfire.

And recently, whether it's Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, there are a few viral videos of people not wanting to wear their masks in public spaces and cursing and swearing at those around them. But, is it okay for us to film these people and post it on the Internet? And is it okay to subsequently dig up their personal information such as their names, residential addresses, age, professions and so on?

Instead of spreading the negativity, we should learn to be more gracious, kind and understanding even if those people are being difficult. Yes, easier said than done, but we need to at least make the effort to try, especially during this difficult period. Take care, Stay home & Stay safe people!

WARNING: SEMI GRAPHIC CONTENT IN THIS EPISODE. LISTENER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.
