The flowers we are taking about are the Red Spider Lilies and they are linked to death and the afterlife in Japanese culture. We are also talking about some crazy murders that happened in the Appalachian mountains in the 1980's during the Satanic Panic called the Corpsewood Manor Murders. On todays episode we have another strange encounter in the Appalachia's. This time our story takes place in Panthertown, North Carolina were a group of friends are going backpacking for the weekend. High strangness occurs when one of the hikers hears many voices and other strange things happen while she is left alone in the woods.

Our second story is about an obsidian mirror that was used by the Aztecs during rituals that involved them using the mirror to communicate with the spirit world. Hello all you Scaredy Cats and Kittens, on today's episode of the podcast we are talking all about about Rael the Alien Prophet and the the alien religion he started called Realism.

Rael was hiking a volcano in France when he was supposedly saw a spacecraft with flashing lights fly near him. The aliens on board the spaceship abducted him and enlightened him with a bunch of knowledge about earth and the aliens and told him to go tell earthlings about them. This was how the alien religion Realism got started.

On this episode we are talking about the haunted Sloss Furnace of Birmingham, Alabama. These furnaces helped power the city for over 100 years.

The furnace is said to be haunted by a former forman who was mean and cruel to his workers. His name was James "Slag" Wormwood and people think he is now a demonic spirit who now haunts the furnace and physically assaults visitors. we hope you enjoy this haunted history story.

This cemetery is apparently home to a Lady in Black who is believed to watch over and protect the dead people that live in the cemetery. Our other story is all bout the Haunted Clown Motel that is two hours away from Las Vegas and has a cemetery right next to it. It is said the hotels original owner is buried in the cemetery right next to the hotel and sometimes you can see the owner roaming around the graveyard or in the hotel!

On this episode we are talking about a Mexican Folklore creature called the "La Lechutza"! This creepy owl witch creature is said to be a 7 foot owl monster with the face of an old women. The Lechutza will come out at night looking for its victims. It is said it tries to lure you out of your home by making either an annoying whistling noise or crying like a baby.

Kara tells us about how different countries celebrate Christmas and the winter solstice and the many folk stories about different creatures that visit during the holiday season. We highly recommend staying at the Stanley Hotel if you are going to be in the area. We were even in a non haunted room and still lots of stuff happen to us.

A young couple buys a remote farmhouse at the edge of a mountain. But what happens to them after they move in is the stuff of nightmares. Welcome to our show about the strange, unusual and the paranormal!

Kara is finally back from her conventions with a crazy alien abduction story from the 80's that happened in New York. The strange thing about this case is that there our at least 4 other eye witnesses that had the same experience and story.

This week we are talking about two cryptids from North Dakota.
First up is a water monster known as the Miniwashitu, this creature was covered in hair like a buffalo but red in color with one eye and a single horn. It had a backbone that stood out and was notched and jagged like a saw. This creature came in the early Spring to help break up the ice so that people and towns along the Missouri River could use it again. Next we are covering a land cryptid called the Taku-He who is a Bigfoot type creature that has special powers and ufo's encounters that happen when this creature appears. We are also talking about an the story of Sam the Sandown Clown. This story is about two children who encounter a strange humanoid looking clown who takes them to his metal shed and shares info about himself! Welcome to this episode of the Two Scaredy Cats! This week we are talking about Ireland and some of the creatures that can be found here. We will be talking about two particular creatures that roam the Irish country side, one Irish Werewolves and the second is the Puca!

Irish werewolves are different than other supernatural wolves in that their human form and wolf are two separate beings. If you kill the wolf form then the human form will also die. In Ireland Irish werewolves are not considered evil but are seen as protectors of communities. It is believed that they would use their powers to defend family and loved ones from harm.

We are also talking about the Puca which is a shape shifting trickster creature that has no fixed form but likes to be seen as a horse or goat. It is said to hunt for lonely travels on lonely country roads, fields, and mt. passes at night.

The forests and mountains of Appalachia have many folktales of mysterious creatures and cryptid's from The Greek God Pan, to were-panthers, the Yahoo (A Bigfoot type creature), Virginia Devil Monkey's to the Moon- Eyed People which are a legendary group of blue eyed , white skinned, short, bearded people who lived in the caves and caverns that run underneath and thru through the Appalachia mountains. Why are there so many strange and unusual creatures and and high strangeness that occurs in and around the Appalachia area? Hopefully some day we will have the answers to what or why these mysteries and mythical creatures are drawn to or happen in this area.

Hello and Welcome! On this weeks episode we are talking about a haunted house in Wisconsin called The Summerwind estate. This property started out as a Fishing Lodge and then got remolded into a mansion. The construction work that was done on the home stirred up a lot of spirits and the home became a hotspot for paranormal activity.

Many people over the years have reported weird smells, whispers, lights turning off and on by themselves. Construction equipment would disappear and ghost could be seen roaming thru the house, most notably a lady in white.

The last family to own and live in the house began to act strangely and the father ended up going mad. The house sat vacant for around 18 years before it got struck by lighting June of 1988 and ended up in flames!

We are also talking about the strange case of the Gary Sudbrink phone calls. These phone calls took place in one day in the 1990 with 3 of them happening within 30 minutes of one another. These strange calls came from an unidentified caller who keeps asking for Gary and tells him there is a double of him. He also tells Gary to look to the sky at night. These calls are very strange and the person on the other end sounds very weird. We have all 4 phone recordings for you to hearfor yourself how strange and creepy they sound.

Welcome back to season 4 of the Two Scaredy Cats Podcast!

We are talking about all the crazy alien stuff that started off 2024 with a bang! We're also talking abut one of the most famous alien abduction cases ever. The Travis Walton started out as a missing person case but quickly took a dark turn into an alien case. If you are interested in learning more about this case there was a movie made called Fire in the Sky that retells the story of what happened with Travis Walton.

The other story we are talking about is a haunted prison from 1582 that was used to house witches during the 1582 Witchcraft trials of St. Osyth. It is considered one of the most haunted house in England. This house has been around for over 500 years and 300 of those it was used as a prison. We also talk about one of the more recent owners of the house, Vanessa Michell who wrote a book about the paranormal nightmare of living in this haunted place.

In this episode we are talking all about Cannibals! We start off learning about Swaney Bean the Cannibal of Scotland and his 48 member clan, who terrorized Scotland during 16th century . This clan was responsible for murdering and eating more than 1,000 people.
While doing research on cannibalism for this episode, I came across a couple of recent stories about Cannibal killers that I had never heard of and thought you might want to hear about.

Our first story is from Germany and about a killer with the nickname the " The Master Butcher". Armin Meiwes found his victim on the internet and video taped himself killing his victim and butchering him to be used in later meals.

Our last story is about a serial killer named the Granny Ripper from Russia. Tamara Samsonova would eat her victims organs and especially loved the lungs. She went on a murder spree that included at least 11 victims and one of them is thought to be her missing husband who has never been found!

She is used throughout Scotland and England to scare little children to keep them from going near water so they don't drown.

Our next story is a true crime story about a pair of serial killers named William Burke and William Hare. These two made themselves famous from 1827-1828 for killing sixteen people and selling their bodies to a Dr. Knox to be used for dissection in his anatomy school! The way in which they killed there victims by a certain type of suffocation that had been named "Burking".

So far most of the evidence and stories point to them being hostile to humans.

This case is called The Guarapirange Reservoir Mutilation and it took place in Brazil during the 1990's. If you are interested in seeing the photos from the autopsy and coroner's report you can find them by doing a quick search. Just be for warned these photos are graphic in nature. The authorities in charge of this case where accused of covering up the story. Make sure to keep your eyes to the sky this summer! If you see anything strange that you think is an UFO your can report it to an organization called Mufon ( Mutual UFO Network).

On this episode we are talking about the Barney and Betty Hill Close Encounter and the Gladstone Villa.

Barney and Betty Hill were on their way home from their honeymoon in Niagra Falls, Canada when they encountered a ufo. This was the first case of what we call today a close encounter of the third kind. Listen as we learn and talk about everything that happened that evening to the Hill's.

We are also talking about the Ghosts of The Gladstone Villa which happened to Andrew Dexter and his family from 1969-1978. We have Andrew Dexter's own account of the hauntings that happened to his family during this time until 1978 when the Gladstone was sold and turned into a hotel. Our first story is about a ghost ship by the name of The Jenny. This story is about an alleged English Schooner that gets frozen in a wall of ice, while traveling through the Drake Passage in the Antarctic Ocean. This story originally appeared in an article in '' Wiener Zeitung" paper on Feb. 1841. In the several weeks following the original printing of this story it appeared in at least seven other newspapers. We also talk about where the saying Davy Jones's Locker originates from and about the real life pirate Davy Jones.

Our second story is the legend of "The Green Chirldren of Woolpit. This story is a tale of two mysterious children with green skin and green clothes who appear out of a cave. They spoke gibberish and only ate beans. This is an old Folktale that has been in circulation since the 12 century.

Hello and Welcome to the Two Scaredy Cats Podcast,

On this weeks episode we are discussing our trip to Pittsburg and a visit to the West Virginia State Penitentiary in Moundsville, West Virginia.

We were able to stop at Salt Fork State Park in Ohio. This park is said to be home to the Ohio Grassman and Big Foot. We hiked a trail where Big Foot has been spotted numerous times.

Later on we went to visit the West Virginia State Penitentiary.
This prison has been around for over a 100 years and was built in a gothic style and had the look of a fortress. Over 998 men have died inside the walls of this prison with 94 of them being executed. The land the prison sits on is said to be cursed because it is an ancient Indian burial ground. All kinds of paranormal activity have been seen in the prison.

The other cryptid we are covering is the Indiana Mud Mermaid, this creature is said to be five feet long and resembles a human but is also said to be amphibious. These creatures were seen playing on a sandbar in the middle of the Ohio River.

Welcome to the Two Scaredy Cats Podcast,

On this episode we talk about our recent adventure that included a tour of The Ohio State Reformatory. On Saturday Aug 6, 2022 we went on a tour of the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield Ohio. Most of you might recognize this place from the movie Shawshank Redemption which was from a short story written by the master of horror Stephen King.

This place has been on our bucket list to visit for a few years now. Over 215 people have died in and around the grounds of the reformatory including a farm boss and his family, and a warden and his wife. Numerous inmates have died on the property from diseases like influenza, and tuberculosis while others have died violent deaths from suicide, or being killed by a cellmate. This place has had a ton of deaths by violence on its grounds, that make it the perfect storm for ghost and spirits to exist.

Hello and Happy New Year! After a two week break we are back with season two of The Two Scaredy Cats Podcast. On our fist episode of the new year we are covering the Canadian cryptid the Ogopogo who lives in the Okanagan lake in British Columbia. Who is said to live in some caves underneath Rattlesnake Island which sits in the lake. Ogopogo is a large, slim, dark green colored, water creature that is said to have humps and a snake like head. We talk about the sightings and the mystery surrounding the Ogopogo.

We also talk about the Winchester Mystery House located in California and and some of the stories and mysteries that surround it. Sarah Winchester was so saddened by the death of her only child and then her husband a few years later that she went mad and decided to build a house with the help of spirits/ ghosts. Using her fortune and money she received from people buying the guns her husband help create she ended building this seven story, 125 room home with all kinds of crazy features.

This tour was very cool we were in total darkness for all of the tour except for the steps. We got to see the morgue that has not been previously open to the public for tours. Today we share with all our scaredy cats and kittens our first ever paranormal investigation! We went to the @madisonseminry (Madison Seminary) in Madison Ohio. This place is one of the most haunted places in Ohio and has been featured on many ghost hunting shows. We also have a guest on the show today, Kara's friend Savannah who came with us on our investigation.

This place did not disappoint, all three of us had some type of paranormal experience! We even got an EVP in Sarah's room after I had heard what sounded like a baby crying. It is in the podcast when Kara ask if the rocking horse belongs to her you can hear a baby cry! Keep in mind we were the only people in the building that afternoon. We were getting some crazy vibes on some of the floors and in some of the rooms. Very cool place! Lots of history in that building.

Stargate the was started in the 70's as a way to spy on other counties and people. This project uses an experimental technique called remote viewing as a way to spy or view other places. This is kinda what Eleven does in the Netflix show "Stranger Things". Stacie tells us about the small town of Boston Ohio and how it became know as hell town. Sadly the town of Boston Ohio no longer exist because the government took the land and used it to form part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
