God created us of many purposes. The third of these is for us to become like Christ. This does not mean we become gods. There is only one God. So what does it me to be Christ like?
Unlawful sexual relations. The Lord is holy. Love your neighbor as yourself. Keeping God's statutes.
"Here I am to worship..." That comes from a popular contemporary Christian song but what does it mean to worship? What is the purpose of worship?
Every asked yourself "Why was I born?" or "Does my life matter?" or "What is my purpose?" Listen to what God has to say in answer to theses questions
Be careful how you live, not as fools but as those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity for doing good in these evil days. Don't act thoughtlessly, but try to understand what the Lord whats you to do -- Eph. 5:15-17

Jesus continues his teaching of parables with the parable of the lost coin, the parable of the prodigal son and the parable of the dishonest manager
Jesus teaches about the cost of discipleship, salt without taste is worthless and the parable of the lost sheep
This is the start of our Lead Like Jesus sermon series. We will look at the leadership attributes that Jesus used as an example for us all. The first is Blessing.
What are the blessings that God has given to you?

Do your actions display your faith? Do you trust all of God's promises in his word?
Beware the leaven of the Pharisees. Have no fear. Acknowledge Christ before men. The parable of the rich fool. Do not be anxious
What is the source of wisdom in life? Are you tapping into that source as much as you should?
Jesus speaks woes to the Pharisees and lawyers. He then warns of the leaven of the pharisees.
What is your source of happiness right now?
What is stopping you from experiencing true happiness?
Jesus finishes his teaching on prayer. Jesus is accused of being aligned with Beelzebul. Return of an unclean spirit. True blessedness. The sign of Jonah. The light in you
In a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you're going to see Me because I am alive and you're about to come alive John 14:19 (Mes)

Three ways God answers prayer
Sometimes God says Yes! Sometimes God says Not Yet! Sometimes God says No!
How do you respond when God says no to a prayer?

How do we stop worrying and start living? God Tells us He Doesn't want us to worry about anything. What is it that still has you worrying?

"For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefor and and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1
We have all heard that no one is perfect. Why then do we beat ourselves up when we are not perfect? In Paul's letter to the Galatians we find 3 reasons for not getting involved in perfectionism.
Jesus sends out the twelve apostles. Herod is perplexed by Jesus. Jesus feeds the five thousand. Peter confesses Jesus as the Christ. Jesus foretells his death. Take up your cross and follow Jesus.
Feeling overwhelmed by life? Stress of the day getting to you? Today we look at how Mary handled the announcement she was going to be the mother of God.

What would have happened if Moses would have chosen to retire at 65 and never led the people to the promised land?
What is the lesson we can learn from this for our lives?
Do we ever retire from serving God?
Jesus heals many people. Jesus preaches in the Synagogues. Jesus calls the first disciples. Jesus cleanses a leper. Jesus heals a paralytic.
"Tell your children of it, and let your children tell their children and their children to another generation" Joel 1:3
What is it that you want to pass on to the next generation?
Jesus spends 40 days in the wilderness where Satan tempts him. Jesus begins his ministry. Jesus is rejected at Nazareth. Jesus heals a man with an unclean demon.
Have you ever wondered, "Does God love me anymore?" or "Is He mad at me?" How did God respond in those times?
Happy is the man who doesn't give in and do wrong when he is tempted, for afterwards he will get as his reward the crown of life that God has promised those who love Him. Jame 1:12
Identify an area of temptation in your life. Then find out how to say No!
Jesus is born, Shepherds and the Angels. Jesus is presented at the temple, is circumcised and giving the name the Angel proclaimed. Simeon at the temple. Joseph, Mary and Jesus return to Nazareth.
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work." II Timothy 3:16-17
How has God's Word impacted your life?
Mary visits Elizabeth who is pregnant with John the Baptist. Elizabeth exclaims how blessed Mary is as Mary is carrying the Christ. Mary sings a song of Praise to the Lord. John the Baptist is born. Zechariah speaks after being mute for 9 months and prophesied about Jesus the Messiah.
"Be very careful how you live for life -- not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but Understand what the Lord's Will is." Ephesians 5:15-17
What is it that makes you resistant to trusting God with everything in your life?
The Gospel of Luke is dedicated to Thoephilus. Birth of John the Baptist is foretold. Zechariah is visited by an angel of God and does not believe Elizabeth will have a son. Zechariah is struck mute until John is born. Birth of Jesus is foretold to Mary. Mary accepts this and says "Behold I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to m according to your word."
And he answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." Luke 10:27
If you were to ask your closest friends what it is you love most, what would they say?
God gives Sabbath Regulations. Moses asks for contribution for the Tabernacle and the skilled workmen of the group construct as per God's design. The Ark of the Covenant is constructed and the Mercy Seat is placed on top with the tablets of the covenant inside. Priestly Garments were constructed. Glory of the Lord rests on the Tabernacle.
With the new year upon us we want to start 2019 the right way. We do this by growing in wisdom and character.
"And Jesus increased in wisdom and in favor with God and man" Luke 2:52
Looking at your calendar, where do you dedicate the most time?
We are all familiar with the story of Jesus' birth. Now you can hear the rest of the story.
God commands the Israelites to leave Sinai but God would not go with them. Moses meets with God in the Tent of Meeting and intercedes for the people. God commands Moses to make two new tablets and God then wrote upon them the words that were on the first set of tablets. God renews his covenant with the people of Israel
The shepherds out and found the baby Jesus laying in a manger. This December, what are you seeking?
While Moses was up on Mount Sinai receiving the Stone Tablets with the 10 Commandments and the book of the covenant, the people of Israel rebelled against God. The had Aaron build a calf of Gold to worship. God wanted to destroy Israel and start over with Moses but Moses reminded God of his promise. God punished those who refused to turn back to him by having them killed.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
When you pray to God, where do you set your expectations?
Tonight we will be skipping around a bit. The audio is in 3 parts. Moses is given the 10 Commandments and the Book of the Covenant from God. The people of Israel worship the golden calf. God gives the specifications of the Tabernacle. Talk about the Sabbath.
(Jesus) " As I have loved you , so you must love one another." John 13:34 Identify someone in your life that can get under your skin. How does Jesus teach us to treat these people?
After the 10 Commandments God gave the Israelites laws on how live should be lived. These include laws about alters. Laws about the treatment of slaves. Laws about restitution. Laws about Social Justice.
God chose us as His own before the creation of the world. What scars do we hold on to that separate us from the love of God?
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24 (ESV) What causes you to forget this promise and start beating yourself up?
Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, gives Moses advice, telling him he can not govern the people alone. Moses needs to get help from the Israelites. The Israelites reach Mount Sinai and God comes to the mountain.
How had God proven that you bad be confident in Him in your life? What robs you of your confidence and what can restore that confidence?
God provides bread from heaven. The people grumble. God provides quail to eat. The people grumble. God provides water from a rock. The people grumble. With the help of God, Israel defeats Amalek.
The Lord gives me hone; He is the source of my strength? How have you felt strengthened by the Lord this week? Here are sources from God on gaining Confidence
After crossing the Red Sea the Israelites spent 3 days searching for water. When found the water was bitter. God made the water drinkable. God provides bread from Heaven. The people grumble they have no meat.
The Lord's Prayer shows us God's answers to the struggles we face. What problems do you face in file that God has promised to take care of in the Lord's Prayer?
God parts the Red Sea and Israel crosses safely on dry land. Pharoah's men were not so fortunate.
