Earlier this year, I had the privilege of visiting and touring the DaVinci Inflight Training Institute which is adjacent to the Ft. Lauderdale Executive airport. Besides being impressed with what I saw at this state of the art cabin crew member professional training facility, I had an enlightening sidebar conversation with Paula Kraft that made me ask, how soon can you be a guest on my show?
Her awe-inspiring family aviation lineage along with her distinguished accomplishments in inflight catering and cabin crew member training will inspire anyone who likes cooking and traveling. Her extensive accomplishments range from world-class expertise in corporate inflight food service and corporate flight attendants services, to food safety management, handling, and mitigation. Paula is also the founder of Tastefully Yours Catering.
DaVinci InFlight Training Institute covers everything from Culinary, Cabin Safety, and Elite Service Training, to Sommelier, Butler, and Aviation Security/Awareness Training. So again, if you have ever considered a career in catering for the private jet/business aviation industry, you'll want to hear all that Paula has to share.

Now here's an area of aviation that you don't hear talked about that often, even though it is an essential aspect of the industry. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to have a roundtable chat with a couple of seasoned aircraft sales professionals along with two relatively new young aircraft sales professionals, all of whom provided great insight.
Given the great opportunities available in the industry today, it seemed more than appropriate and timely to check-in with the leadership and members of GLADA the Global Licensed Aircraft Dealers Association to get their perspective on this rewarding aviation career. A highlight was talking with the two young aviation professionals about their budding careers and the paths they took to get where they currently are.
Joining me were Christina Blair, Operating Director, GLADA; Gary Anzalone, GLADA Board Member and Co-founder as well as the Co-founder and Managing Director of Equus Global Aviation; Danielle McCauley, Sales Executive, Equus Global Aviation and GLADA member; and Mitchell Flinn, Flinn Aviation, and GLADA member.

It is not everyday that you meet and have an extended, enlightening, and candid conversation with a Black aerobatic airshow and air race pilot. Yes, outside of the Navy Blue Angels pilot, Lieutenant Commander Julius Bratton, Anthony Oshinuga is currently the only Black airshow aerobatic pilot actively performing, competing, and racing.
Anthony Oshinuga, founder, owner, and chief pilot of Air Oshi based in Temecula, California, competed in his first US National Aerobatic Championships when he was 24, followed by the National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nevada at 25. By the time he was 27, he made his airshow performing debut at the Miramar Air Show, and soon after, became the first Black pilot to perform aerobatics in the Arctic Circle.

She was NASA astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison’s (the first African American woman to travel into space) suit tech, and also suited up other notable astronauts including Dr. Bernard Harris, Frederick Gregory, and Charles Bolden.
Coming from very humble beginnings, Sharon McDougle went from suiting up Air Force SR-71 and U-2 pilots to becoming the first African American Crew Escape Equipment Crew Chief during the Space Shuttle era, and eventually first African American manager of the CEE department in 2004.

My youngest guest, Abigail Dang, is 20 years old, already commercially rated and currently teaches others how to fly.
Next, in her mid-twenties is Abby Awosanya, who also has her commercial pilot rating, and is currently training at the United Aviate Academy.
And, Kine Paulsen, currently a student pilot, was inspired to write a book about learning to fly, Demystiflying, for those who are interested in aviation but don't have a clue.
The first two are well on there way to becoming professional pilots, but what all three have in common is their passion for flying and shared experiences of learning how.
Abigail Dang, a 20 year old Commercially Rated Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor who currently qualified to teach instrument and multi-engine flight instruction at Barber's Point Flight School. She earned her bachelor's degree from Liberty University online while training and flight instructing.
Abby Awosanya, in her mid-twenties, has her Commercial Pilot Rating, and is currently in flight training at the United Aviate Academy in Phoenix, Arizona. She received her Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Maryland of several aviation associations including the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals, Sisters of the Skies, and Women in Aviation International.
Kine Paulsen, the author of Demystiflying, currently a student pilot, decided to write a book based on her experiences of wanting to make a dream from childhood, a reality as an adult. Her primary goal with the book is to help those who know absolutely nothing about aviation, understand it better and get the most out of their flight training and pursuit of a pilot's license. Kine has a Master of Science Degree in Integrated Marketing/Digital Marketing from New York University.

Recently, I visited the Tuskegee Airmen inspired RedTail Flight Academy located about 90 minutes north of New York City at Stewart International Airport. As an extra special opportunity, the first female and Black female South African Helicopter pilot, Refilwe Ledwaba from Johannesburg, who was in New York for the UN Climate Conference representing the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as a Goalkeeper, joined me as my guest co-host.
The conversations that we had with the three impressive aspiring aviators as well as the head of flight operations and safety was simply amazing. Besides this webcast being quite informative and providing insight on yet another path to becoming a professional aviator, it was very uplifting and inspiring.
In addition to Refilwe Ledwaba, my RedTail Flight Academy guests included Tanya Austin, Operations and Safety Manager; Mya Coley, Certified Flight Instructor and Program Manager Assistant; Mischa Harrigan, a Scholarship Recipient, Engineering Major, and a Private Pilot working on her Instrument Rating; and Marvin Mungo, a Scholarship Recipient, Real Estate Agent and a Student Pilot.
