Things begin to heat up as we continue on this journey of my true story. It was Christmas time, and then New Year’s came along. Mark had me doing things I never thought I would, or could. Holidays are the best memories outside of a new addition to families, whether it's a baby or even an animal. When you have unresolved issues within your relationship or marriage though, it can surface at the worst times. Unfortunately, I have countless unpleasant memories of various holidays in being with my ex spouse. Although I don't allow them to affect me now. I seem to never forget those moments that could have been amazing. Communication is everything in a marriage. Don't ruin precious memories because you are lacking in this area. Your home should be your sanctuary, and that includes your significant other after you both have gone about your day, and now it's time to come together. When anyone has to walk lightly around someone, it breaks down intimacy because you never know what will set them off. If you are in this situation, I pray that you seek counseling for yourself even if he won't go with you. Counseling is a beautiful thing when two people want to help the marriage or relationship, however; it is not a necessity and one should never decline a support system nor counsel which will ultimately assist in your self-worth.
