Meron Hayden is a student at the University of Arkansas setting her sights on a post college career. Tara talks to her and learns a few lesson on what college students are seeking in careers and their expectations for internships. Misty Crider went to Western Technology Center 13 years ago to learn about OSHA and Safety Data Sheet compliance. The workshops/trainings were offered at Western Tech’s Weatherford campus through its business development services division.
An employee of Western Plains Library System for 15 years, Crider became involved with the Western Oklahoma Human Resource Group, a special organization formed by WTC for human resources professionals. She frequently attends monthly training opportunities with human resources experts, networking with peers and keeping up to date on employment laws and human resource management strategies. She has served as secretary and president-elect of that group.
WTC provided much of the training Crider needed to pursue the national certified professional certification from the Society for Human Resource Management, which she recently achieved.
“The SHRM-CP certification is recognized as a national and global achievement in the HR profession,” said Marsha Morris, WTC business development coordinator.
Crider regularly collaborates with WTC business development services and WTC-Weatherford for library branch personnel trainings, using WTC’s computer lab.

Rebecca Hartwig has been recruiting IT professionals in the Oklahoma City market since 2010. She was born and raised in Oklahoma. She graduated from Oklahoma State University. She is married to her college sweetheart and had two boys. Rebecca was raised by two IT professionals, so it's not surprising that she has a passion for IT. Rebecca started her own staffing company in 2017, specializing in IT staffing and is continuing to thrive. Rebecca has been a volunteer for the OKWIT board for the last few years.

Tara and Rob connect with volunteer extraordinaire, Diana Wall. Diana is a recent part-owner of Accel Financial Staffing, where she has been a part of its growth since opening in 1995. Diana winds through amazing stories of driving through Oklahoma City at 7 months pregnant when the Murrah Bombing occurred in 1995 to guiding Sooner HR Society (SHRS) to a national SHRM Pinnacle Award. We talked about holding uncomfortable conversations as an HR professional, and what tip was given on how to determine how others view you in one word… Genuine Diana answers all of these things and more.
