Welcome to RISE with your host Ellia Miller. This podcast was inspired by a father in search of new ways to connect with his teenage daughter (who was quickly approaching the age of "ew, Dad") and energize her to be the best version of herself. Each episode will feature a new guest, and we will discuss what Resiliency, Identity, Strength, and Empowerment mean to them and how each has impacted or influenced their life. The ultimate goal of this podcast is to motivate and inspire through unique stories and experiences!

Welcome back to Episode 2 of the RISE Podcast with your host Ellia Miller. This episode, we are joined by Jeff Pelon, the "man with the plan" (also commonly known as "the guy in the pink cowboy hat"). Jeff came to me a few months ago with the idea of starting a podcast to discuss resiliency, identity, strength, and empowerment, and thus RISE was born. His inspiration for creating the podcast was to develop a resource for his daughter to help her navigate the ups and downs of her teenage years. In this episode, Jeff tells us about his background and how his childhood drove him to create a non-profit (or as Simon Sinek calls it, a "for-impact") called Youth Esteem Services (Y.E.S.) Foundation. We also learn about his daughter and how she became the motivation for this podcast, and what he hopes this podcast will provide for both her and everyone else who listens.
In the inaugural episode of the RISE Podcast, we sit down with Jill Glasenapp, Army Veteran, co-owner of Cobra Command CrossFit and Functional Eating, and head coach for GRIT Performance. She gives us some insight on a variety of topics, including finding and maintaining your identity outside of your career by making space for yourself, how to embrace change, and using your failures to motivate your future.
