Turning 30 is a journey! Join as Jarel Mac as he has conversations that relates to his everyday life which includes his sexuality, masculinity, and race.
Growing up I never knew how to manage my emotions. I would usually tell people I didn't have them to avoid having to express emotions towards people. I learned that it was not healthy at all. So I wanted to explore with you all how I learned to understand my emotions and know that sometimes they are all over the place which is perfectly fine. You just have to learn how to manage and control them.
One of my least favorite things to do is code-switch. I cannot stand having to switch from one personality to the next to accommodate someone else. So let's talk about it and dive into a conversation about code-switching. Join me as I define code-switching, why I do it, when I do it, and how I try to be my authentic self in those spaces.
I have a sit down with my friend Justin from JTee Talkin' Lit to discuss representation of Black gay men in the media. Together we define what representation means to us and look at the positives, negatives, and everything in between on how Black gay men are displayed on television, film, and music.
