An area of the cryptoverse that has exploded in popularity in the past few years (and has seen an ensuing sharp decline with the recent sell-off of markets) is the gaming/metaverse space. These are networks of 3D virtual worlds (cyberspace) focused on socialisation and have now begun to creep into mainstream society. Allegra & Victor return this week to explain their impacts on the cryptocurrency market and why investors should take note of this emerging space!
This SI episode explores the metaverse and simply explains just what the heck it is. Allegra & Victor also provide retail investors with ideas on how they could on-board into metaverse/gaming tokens/coins and explain that it very much is an investible asset class. Finally, we deep-dive into the pros and cons of investing in this niche space of the cryptoverse.
It should also be said for new listeners that our discussion of the metaverse builds on our previous episodes on cryptocurrencies and NFTs; so if all this is confusing, don't be afraid to rewind back to those topics or reach out to us!

With the current inflationary environment surrounding the many developed economies of the world, Allegra & Victor have come at a timely fashion to explore the nuances associated with inflation and its impacts on you as an individual investor. The monetary stimulus provided by most central banks as a response to the pandemic has created an oversupply of currencies and this in-turn has generated unprecedented "wealth effects" among consumers.
This week's episode breaks down what inflation is, how you (as the retail investor) are impacted by it, whether you should factor it into your investment decisions (and if so, how?), and the different scenarios we have experienced across markets in the past regarding inflation (we present a brief discussion on three key inflationary landscapes across global economies).
There has never been a more pressing time to level-up your knowledge on inflation (and interest rates for that matter - rewind our podcast back a couple of episodes), and SI are here to help!

Allegra & Victor return this week to explore an element of the "wild-west" of the cryptoverse - non-fungible tokens. NFTs are unique strings of code attached to digital assets and are secured through the blockchain, giving them the property of non-fungibility - each asset is unique and derives a singular value.
We start off this episode by explaining what non-fungible tokens essentially are, how you would go about purchasing your first NFT, trading platofrms/marketplaces you can use to exchange NFTs, how NFTs are different to other cryptocurrency assets, and what the risks & benefits are of investing in non-fungible tokens.
Whilst they are not new and have been around since 2014, NFTs have exploded in popularity in recent years. The market for NFTs was worth a staggering $41bn in 2021, an amount approaching the total value of the entire global fine art market - so this is definitely a space in the cryptoverse worth understanding!

This week, we dive into everything you've ever wanted to know about interest rates - touted as the "backbone" of the economy through their determinant of the "time value of money" and through pricing-in risk.
In this episode, we explain just what the heck interest rates are, how they work, why they matter, what they mean for you as the retail investor, how you should approach any interest rate changes, and whether you should be factoring interest rate changes into your investment decisions - if so, how?
We are in the midst of macroeconomic uncertainty; markets around the world have reacted unfavourably to central bank monetary tightening (rising interest rates), and we have observed sell-offs of varying magnitudes over the past few months. Such is why the savvy investor should continue to closely monitor the global interest rate environment to identify key risks and opportunities.

In this episode explaining how to "pull" the equity from your investment property, Allegra & Victor, having both executed similar debt draw-downs, highlight the ins & outs of how the savvy investor can leverage-up (in a relatively safe manner) to acquire multiple properties (or other assets).
We cover what it means to "pull" the equity from a property, why the switched-on investor may want to do such a thing, the benefits & risks from increasing your mortgage, what we think is the proper way to execute such a transation, and share resources that we've used and that are publicly available to guide our listeners.

Your favourite duo, Allegra & Victor, are back this week to talk about personal finance. In this episode, we teach our listeners how they can better manage their personal balance sheets and profit/loss statements by maximising incomes, minimising expenses, and investing the remaining amount (into one of the various asset classes covered in our "basics" series).
Specifically, we cover what personal finance is, why it is important to take charge of your personal finances, how our listeners can better plan their personal finances, our top tips on how we manage our own personal finances (specifically focused around diversifying your income streams and cutting back on discretionary expenditures where possible), and some key resources we use to help manage our own personal finances of which you may also find value using.
Unfortunately, the established order don't teach you how to manage your own finances throughout your formal education, but have no fear, SI are here to explain how you can take complete control of your money. This is of paramount importance because the more money you have, the more you are able to invest and turn into productive assets; thereby growing your personal net wealth!

Allegra & Victor are back this week to talk all things related to cryptocurrency staking. In this episode, we explain what the heck cryptocurrency staking is, the ways in which an investor may stake their coins/tokens, key risks & benefits of staking cryptocurrency, how important of a consideration proof-of-stake consensus mechanisms are when choosing whether to invest in a particular project, and our approaches to staking cryptocurrency.
Proof-of-stake technology, as a second generation improvement upon the blockchain, has seen an explosion in popularity recently, driven by its improved fundamentals over older proof-of-work consensus mechanisms. SI are here to explain how you can partake in certain networks by 'pledging' or staking your various cryptocurrencies.
