In today's episode, we’re diving into the often awkward topic of money, especially when moving in with your partner. Why is it so hard to talk about finances? Many of us weren't taught about money, and there's often a lot of shame or embarrassment tied to it.

I’m not a financial professional whatsoever, but for some reason I get a lot of finance questions from my audience so decided to dive into it.

We'll discuss key conversations you need to have: how much you each make, your credit scores, budgeting, and how to split expenses. Whether you’re a 50:50 kinda person (you know my stance on that), one person covering everything, or a percentage-based approach, we’ll explore what might work best for you.

We’ll also cover the pros and cons of joint accounts, and avoiding feeling financially taken advantage of. Plus, we'll share tips on understanding each other’s spending habits and ensuring both partners feel secure.

47. It's my BIRTHDAY! As a (now) 32-year-old woman, my birthday is a time for self-reflection and growth. I've come to realize that focusing on myself has been the most important factor in my personal improvement. By doing things that truly make me happy, understanding my own needs, and being on my own timeline, I've been able to take control of my life and make things happen.I used to be desperate, constantly seeking validation from others and pretending to be someone I'm not. But by building confidence in myself and embracing my true self, I've attracted positive people into my life and cut out toxic friendships. This has allowed me to surround myself with people who support and encourage me in my journey. In short, I've learned that the key to a happy and fulfilling life is to focus on myself, understand your own needs and desires, and take positive action towards your goals. Most successful people talk about how self reflection improved their lives, and I’m so happy I finally listened.Hope you enjoy this solo episode!Xoxo, Koko

  1. Welcome to this special episode of Boujee Best Friend, which has been a long time coming. For some reason, I couldn't bring myself to sit down and record the whole experience. But in honor of March being endometriosis awareness month, I decided it's time for me to share the full story.

In this episode, I'm going to take you on a journey through my personal experience with endometriosis. I'll talk about the moment when I discovered the cyst, the emotions that followed, the countless doctors visits, the actual surgery, and the ups and downs of recovery and healing.

Endometriosis affects an estimated 1 in 10 women worldwide, but it is often misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or simply ignored. It is a chronic condition where the tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus grows outside of it, causing inflammation, pain, and in severe cases, infertility.

My journey with endometriosis started when I discovered a cyst back in November 2022, during a routine gynecological exam. I'll never forget the fear and anxiety I felt when I heard the news. It was a scary and confusing time, but I soon realized that I was not alone. With the help of my family, friends, and healthcare providers, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery and healing.

Through this podcast episode, I hope to shed light on the reality of living with endometriosis, and to help others who may be going through a similar experience. I want to emphasize the importance of listening to your body, advocating for yourself, and seeking medical attention when necessary.

So join me as I share my story, and let's raise awareness and support for those who are fighting this silent battle.
