A car accident saved Mike Stramaglio's life, but at the cost of his hearing.

Years ago, Mike and his wife were rear-ended on their way to a surprise birthday party for Mike's father. When doctors searched Mike's head for brain injuries, they instead found an acoustic neuroma: a potentially life-threatening tumor. The tumor was removed, but the procedure left Mike completely deaf in one ear and with significant hearing loss in the other.

This week, Mike opens up about his Single-Sided Deafness (SSD) and hearing loss. Joined by his daughter and ConnectWise executive Jenna Stramaglio, the father-daughter team talks about the technology that could improve life for people with disabilities - and the humanity that is so critical to good communication. This week, we dive into:

  • What role can AI play in improving communication?
  • What can you to do help people with disabilities acclimate?
  • How much automation will we see in the near-future?

"Stay far from timid/make moves only when your heart's in it/live the phrase "sky's the limit"

Maurice Allen lives his life by the words of The Notorious B.I.G. and - judging by his impressive resume as one of the best long drivers in golf - it's definitely paid off.

Not only is Maurice the first (and probably last, because it's illegal now) person to drive a golf ball clean over Niagara Falls, he's also a multiple-time record holder and competitor. Growing up as the son of a NASA engineer, surrounded by a family of athletes, Maurice knew he was destined for great things. And in this episode, he joins Mike to talk about developing a competitive mindset, building confidence, and achieving goals. In this episode of Next Week's Life, we cover:

  • Growing through hardship
  • How competition creates opportunities to learn
  • How to promote positive change in your life & community
  • Just how in the world do you become a professional long driver?

Check out some of Maurice's videos in the links below. Thanks for listening!

Bob "Judge" Goldberg remembers when business leaders declared "going paperless" to be just a fad:

"We'll go paperless in the office when we go paperless in the bathroom," he once said.

It would never catch on...

Now, he, along with former Muratec President Jim D-Emidio, join Mike to talk all about changing with the times. As the longtime legal counsel for the Business Technology Association, Judge Goldberg advises business leaders on the ins and outs of an industry that has completely transformed - from print, to digital, to work-from-home - and only looks to keep evolving.

Jim, who led Muratec for over 30 years, remembers a time when workplace culture wasn't a priority. Now, he insists, it's essential. Together, these three talk about adapting, creating empathetic cultures, and how to lead your team into the future on this special installment of Next Week's Life.
