The Journey School of Houston students explore topics that spark curiosity, excitement, and sometimes make you go "hmm."
Reality by AshtonI love to daydreamim a bird and i fly through the skysnever reaching the starsand i flap my bigs wings andfly my hopes and dreams away.Facing reality feels like a chorebut i've vacuumed and i've swept the floor and i clean the dishes til they started to clean me and i still, havent found any comfortin being me.But i packed the baggage in a tightly sealed boxand i bury it beneath the dimly lighten tree to dig it up years laterto come and comeand act like those spoiled memorieswere some kind of fun to be shared, to be spilled and clean with a dirty spongethe same sponge used to clean meand my finger have grown calluses and my hair has begun to split and ive eaten and ive bitten more than i can chew.So who am i really?
Stars by AshtonThe stars havebeen brighter since you left i realized i was only looking through your eyesand never my own.Relying on your feelings and never my own
A boy
There's a boy
a boy who loves the sea even
if it's like a mystery,
a mystery case.
A boy that loves to chase
chase after the case
he chases
he chases until he cant
he chases more than just “cases”
he chases people.
And hes eaten and bitten more than he can chew
but he tries to chew, but he can't.
He runs
runs to the safe sea
the sea he wanted to chase
notice how the five letter word spoiled into six.
An extra letter because he's given up
the sea he's so hardly been trying to understand
but it's just too hard
he loves the sea but can't seem to understand it
just like how he cant understand himself.
A boy who loves the night
he loves to wander
wander for ages
he loves the very quiet night
so quiet he can hear his breath and the ones around him.
The sound of bird moving slightly
and the sound of the trees leaves falling
so quiet he can hear everything even if its miles away
When it's night out it's like a library.
Peaceful.
A boy that loves to daydream
daydream that he's a bird a bird that can fly high
but never reaching the stars
and i flap my wings
and i fly my hopes and dreams away
Notice how i said “i”
i am the boy
i'm the boy who loves the sea
the boy that loves to chase
the boy who loves the night
and the boy who daydreams
that is me.
