Hey, there! It's Gabby and Kendra from the Creatives' Conversation. In this episode, we're talking about what to do when you feel like giving up!
Today we want to talk about something that many people struggle with: feeling like they want to give up.
We know it's hard, but it's a normal part of life and life as a creative. There are going to be times when you feel like you can't do anything right and you want to just throw in the towel and let it all go. But guess what? That's not how life works! You can't expect things to be perfect, and you can't expect them to be easy all the time either—that would be boring!
Do you know what happens when we give up? We miss out on so many opportunities for growth, happiness, and success. We miss out on getting closer to our goals and dreams of what we want our lives to look like. Don't let that happen! Instead of giving up when things get tough, take a deep breath, count down from five… And then listen to this conversation!

In this episode of the Creatives' Conversation, we’ll talk about what a growth mindset is and why you should have it.
A growth mindset is the belief that your abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work— rather than believing that you are either born with certain talents or not. This mindset allows us creatives to take on challenges and learn from our mistakes.
People with a growth mindset believe they can improve their abilities by practicing, even if they aren’t naturally talented in a certain area. They might not know exactly how they’re going to do so, but they believe that they can get better at something with enough effort and time.
lat this anyway." People with a fixed mindset often don't improve because they're too afraid of failing or looking stupid in front of others—so instead of learning from their mistakes, they just give up altogether!
So, let's talk about it!

Hey guys! Welcome to this week's episode of the Creatives' Conversation where we're introducing a new series called "Level Up!"
Today we're talking about how to level up as a creative, and I think the best way to approach that is by asking: how do you define yourself as a creative?
We think it's easy to look at other people and compare yourself with them—and that's when you get into trouble. Because if you're comparing your work with someone else's, or comparing your skills or abilities, you're going to end up feeling bad. And that's no fun! So instead of doing that, why not try just being yourself?
I mean, who are you? What makes you unique? And what can YOU do? Those are questions that can help guide your path forward as a creative.
Tune in for more information and encouragement this season! Subscribe!

Social media is a powerful tool for your business, but it can be overwhelming to try and figure out where to start.
So what do you need to know?
Here are 7 things you need to know about social media in 2023:
Understand that not every platform is for everyone. Different kinds of businesses have different needs, so don’t assume that Twitter or Instagram will work best for your brand—research which platforms will help your company grow.
Engagement is KEY! Going live on Instagram and posting great content isn't enough anymore; you need to engage with your followers by responding to their comments and questions.
There is no growth without consistency: You need to post regularly on all of your social media accounts in order for them to be effective at attracting new customers (and retaining old ones).
It's becoming a PAY-TO-PLAY ENVIRONMENT: If you want your posts seen by more people, then you'll need to pay money for ads and boosts—this is true across all social platforms, but especially on Facebook and Instagram right now! Paying attention here could save you lots of money in the long run!
Tune into the full podcast to hear the last 3! You definitely won't be disappointed

We're back and excited to bring you season 2 of the Creatives' Conversation! If you want to succeed in 2023, you must market yourself and your artistry effectively. Here's what works — and what doesn't — when it comes to marketing yourself and your products:
Let's say you're an amazing entrepreneur or artist. You've got the best ideas and some killer strategy, but you're still not getting traction. What can you do to overcome this?
It might be time to rethink your approach and make some adjustments that will help improve results. Here are three things you need to know when marketing yourself successfully in 2023:
You need to be “end-goal-minded”.
If your goal is to become an author but all of your writing attempts have failed so far, maybe it's time for some help from someone else who knows what they're doing--and has actually published books before (because no one ever gets their first book published without some kind of guidance). Or maybe instead of trying again with fiction or nonfiction writing, try something different: why not write poetry or short stories instead? It may seem like starting over from scratch when all your previous work seems worthless now that it hasn't paid off yet; however, remember: there are no rules saying "this is how things have always been done." If there were such rules then everything would stagnate into nothingness because no one would ever want to change anything ever again...and we certainly wouldn't have any progress at all!
You Need to Find Your Marketing Engine
Your marketing engine is the thing that drives your business. It's not just a clever name for your company or project; it's the thing that gets people to buy from you, and makes you different from others.
It's also what helps them decide whether or not they want to work with YOU specifically (including things like reputation and personal style)
Create a Plan for Consistency
You can't expect to be successful if you aren't consistent. Consistency is the key to success, and it's something that many people overlook when trying to market themselves in 2023. If you want people to notice what you're doing, then they need to see it over and over again.
You may think this doesn't apply because there are so many other things on your plate right now--but let us tell you something: if there's one thing we've learned in our years of experience, it's that consistency is everything!
If we aren't consistent with our actions -- if we don't take action every day toward our goals -- then nothing will happen! We won't make progress towards our dreams; instead, they'll just stay locked away inside our heads forever...and then we'll never achieve them!
Here are some marketing myths to let go of:
Marketing is not a science.
Marketing is not a formula.
Marketing is not a magic trick, and it's definitely not easy. But it can be done!
Marketing is not just advertising or promotion--it's all the things you do to get people interested in what you have to offer, including networking, public speaking, and writing online (like what you're reading).
Marketing isn't just for big companies; it's also for small artists and businesses like yours too! If you want customers or an audience, but don't know how to attract them yet, don't worry: there are plenty of ways for you to market yourself successfully in 2023...and beyond!

We’re back with another Creatives’ Conversation! This time we’re talking about creativity in the kitchen! Yes, you heard that right — the KITCHEN! We’re talking with Cherokee Town, the owner of Balanced Meal Prep, how she creates and how she sustains her business. Is food just food? Or is it more of an artform? Tune in to hear the answer to this question and hear how this incredible woman is making a way with her business!
We're back with another Creatives' Conversation!
Do you find yourself asking questions like: "How do I price my work?", "Is my price too high or too low?", etc. If so, this episode was made for you! In this session, we're discussing how to properly price your work, which is a concept Gabriella Martay learned from the incredible Chris Do. We'll lay out an exact formula that you can use no matter your creative pursuit or project! So, tune in, and let's get your pricing nailed down!
Does having a big following equal making good money online? How does somebody ACTUALLY make a good income from the internet? Is it even possible? Well, that's exactly what we're discussing today! We've seen people with big followings not make hardly any money and have to make 9-5 jobs... while we've seen others with hardly any followings (like the nonprofit we're discussing in this episode) make a lot of money in a short span of time.
So, if you're wondering how you can make your craft profitable or get your business off the ground, tune in! This is for you!
Struggling to find your purpose as a creative? Not sure where you fit in with your art form or craft? Stress no more! And join us as we discuss how to find your purpose as a creative with our good friend and jewelry artisan, Lexi Bradley. Having started her own brand called "Sunny Side Up", she knows what it takes to get started as a creative and find your purpose.
So, here we go: tune in!

In the video, she gives quite a bit of tips, so hopefully they help you become the efficient human and creative you were made to be!

Welcome back to another episode of The Creatives' Conversation!
If you've taken part in any athletic activities, you know how competitive it can get. Sometimes, creative fields are treated the same way... There are many creatives who are cut-throat about being the best and "beating" their competition. But the reality is, creativity is not a competition. There is no way to score how well you are measuring up to others - and that's exactly what we're talking about today!
Welcome back to another episode of The Creatives' Conversation! This week, we brought on one of our Helps2 team members who works with us remotely from Idaho - Grace Robinson! Grace has been our content supervisor since 2012, in addition to being a self-published author of sci-fi and fantasy stories. She's also the co-author of our book, We Don't Need Another Marketing Book.
We brought Grace on this week to share about the work it takes to make your creative vision possible. Grace writes about this in our book, sharing a little about the efforts she's had to put in to publish her work... But on today's episode, she's sharing in greater detail some stories and advice for creatives who want to make their dreams come to pass.
Welcome back to another episode of The Creatives' Conversation!
There's a lot of opinions out there about whether or not social media is worth all of its drawbacks... Some would even go so far as to call it evil. But others see social media as a useful tool, and are even able to make a living off of it. Today we're taking a full 360 degree view as we discuss some of the pros and cons of using social media.
Welcome back to another episode of The Creatives' Conversation!
This week, we're talking about something that hits close to home... Dealing with burnout. Or more specifically, preventing it in the first place.
Burnout occurs quite often for creatives, especially when they don't see the results they want with their creative pursuit. Overworking and excessive stress can cause burnout - but that doesn't have to be the end of the story. We're talking today about some simple ways you can care for yourself so that you avoid facing burnout. Gabriella Martay and Amber are discussing everything from simple, daily rituals to helpful mindsets to maintain so that you can remain refreshed in your craft. We hope it helps!
Welcome back to another episode of The Creatives' Conversation! This week we welcomed back entrepreneur and podcast host, Andrew Trac, to share from his wealth of knowledge about time management.
We are all given 24 hours in a day... How we spend that 24 hours varies greatly from person to person, but the important part is that we use it well. Creatives and entrepreneurs are often not bound to a 9 to 5 schedule like most people, so learning how to manage time is essential. That's why we're sharing with you some tips on how to best manage your time in this episode. We hope you find it to be helpful!
Welcome back to another episode of The Creatives' Conversation!
This week, we're answering a question from the original founder of Helps2, George Temple. George asked us if we knew of any good ways to get leads in 2021, and we've got answers!
As a creative, it's important that you see yourself as what you are - an entrepreneur. And in order for your creative business to flourish, you need to know the best ways to reach people and to bring them into what you're doing. That's why we're sharing with you ways that you can organically get leads... And most of these tips are free! Be sure and watch to the end to see how we've been getting the most new leads in recent times.
Welcome back to another episode of The Creatives' Conversation!
This week, we're answering a question from one of our newsletter subscribers about how we published our book without breaking the bank.
Since the initial idea of writing We Don't Need Another Marketing Book four years ago, we have been on quite the unexpected journey. Publishing a book has taken lots of time, resources, and people - which is something we greatly underestimated when we first began. So we're here to tell you all that we wished we knew when we set out to publish our first book. Enjoy!
We've officially made it to our TWENTIETH episode of The Creatives' Conversation - woohoo! This week, we brought on a guest that is very dear to us - Andrew Trac. Andy owns a consultation company where he helps budding businesses grow into making a profit. He also hosts a podcast of his own, Cold Brew Conversations, where he interviews young people about their passions. We brought him on this week to share with creatives how they can make a profit with what they create.
Making money with your craft won't very likely happen on accident; it will take knowledge and planning. We believe that some of the planning that should take place on the front end of trying to monetize your craft is creating a business model. While that can seem like a daunting task, Amber and Andy are breaking it down into small, actionable steps that will help you make a business model that you feel confident about.
Welcome back to another episode of The Creatives' Conversation!
Creatives can get a bad reputation of not always being the most reliable people... But is it rightful that they get labeled that way? That's exactly what we're discussing today with our guests, Sierra Bruton and Kendra Reed. Everything from personal stories to honest confessions are being laid out on the table... We hope you enjoy it!
Welcome back to another episode of The Creatives' Conversation!
This week, we're answering a question from one of our Instagram followers, Vanessa. She asked us why we started The Creatives' Conversation, and how she can start a podcast of her own. We're answering her question by sharing with you the story behind the model we use for our podcast and what our aim is in creating it, as well as the practical steps of shooting, editing, and uploading for The Creatives' Conversation. We hope you enjoy!
We're back with episode number SEVENTEEN of The Creatives' Conversation! This week, we brought on some dear friends - Andy and Chelsey Webb. The Webbs met through music, and have been pursuing their careers in music together ever since. They have served on worship teams together at the International House of Prayer, and they even led worship for a few months in South Korea. They have a daughter (Capri) who has been with them for every step of the journey.
Today we're asking them how they've been able to pursue their art as a family. It isn't easy to pursue art as a single person, let alone as a family with a child. They're sharing stories and giving practical advice on how they've been able to continue making music and travelling while remaining a closely knit family unit.
We're back with episode number SIXTEEN of The Creatives' Conversation!
On today's episode, Gabriella Martay is flying solo as she shares with you some of the ways she fights discouragement. As a musician, recently published author, and entrepreneur, she is no stranger to feelings of doubt and discouragement...
