African Stories is a podcast that focuses on great African figures. Some very popular and others you might never have heard about. Some from olden days and other from more more modern times. Either way, the aim is to help us discover these inspirational, great figures, who were passionate about the continent or their nations, who stood for what what they believed in in the face of great adversity at times and who are role models to us, as the continent of Africa is changing and fast moving towards self determination. 1st he created one of Africa’s most successful empires, the Mali empire.
2nd he created and proclaimed one of the first, if not the first ever charter of Human rights, oh yes, you heard me well. The 1st ever Charter of Human Rights, Older than the British bill of rights and the French Declaration of the rights of man and the citizen.

Nzingha is a great historical figure because of her relentless fight for the independence and stature of her people and kingdoms against the Portuguese.
She is considered one of Africa’s greatest queens because, she shun through her military, political and diplomatic skills. She was known as the ultimate diplomat, peacemaker as well as skilful negotiator and tactician. She was impeccable at drawing up battle plans and military tactics to evade the raid of the Portuguese in her kingdoms. She demonstrated great bravery, intelligence, and a visceral need to bring peace to her people.
