The Short Books – 2 John – Part 2September 14, 2025
Love flows from the realization that Jesus us the Son of the Father, and this realization is counter to the world. Love flows from the Truth! If your love does not come from the God’s Truth, it is not love, but perversion.
Truth or the confession that Jesus is the Son of God opens the door to accept the love God has for us which then compels us to not only extend love back to God, but it also love others, which is the testifying action that we abide in the Father.

It’s Okay to be ChristlikeSeptember 1, 2024
We believe God can do all things, and in our unbelief, we ask God to help us believe. But, we live among those that don’t believe. And without belief, we can have no hope.
We might wish we could all just get along, but the is not the case as the Word of God says in John 15:18-19,“If the world hates you [and it does], know that it has hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you belonged to the world, the world would love [you as] its own and would treat you with affection. But you are not of the world [you no longer belong to it], but I have chosen you out of the world. And because of this the world hates you.
So, do you identify yourself as a “Christian”? And, if so, are you Christlike? Are you willing to be Christlike and accept everything that goes with it?

We have become such a calendar society. Thanksgiving, Black Friday, then the tree. This whole season has become event after event. Then we start all over with the new year. We lose sight of what it is really should be about.

Before we get into Principle number 9, here are some guide lines: * God's voice will never be contrary to Scripture * God will never tell you to do something that will lead you into sin * God will never tell you to do something out of God's attributes and character * See godly counsel and when we seek godly counsel, it must be someone grounded in God's Word and in prayer.
Today it is especially important to keep in mind the 8 prior principles. It might be challenging on a personal level. Don't run from the challenge or conviction.

This series is not just to learn what the early church did, but how those principles apply to us. If we see these benefits, we need to position ourselves for change. Then, we can pursue those principles in application.
Today, we will have an opportunity to affirm our faith in Christ, or live in the world's expectations. But, there is no in between.

Today, Acts 6 There has been complaints since the early church, and people needed to step up and help. But, what is our principle taken out of this?
Principle #5 - Extend impartial and unbiased compassion to all. True compassion is giving what is truly needed. Compassion must be wrapped in love.

Last week we gave an overview of the expectations of this new series.
The first principle just happened to land on this day. Labor day week-end. Pastor Jason said he didn't even realize it was a holiday week-end, but apparently the Holy Spirit did.

We need to be the church that God want's us to be. And therefore, I need to be the person God want's me to be. If each of us do that, then this will be the church God intends us to be, in this community, at this time.

After 29 weeks on the book of 1st John, it is still appropriate to name the series "No Middle Ground"'
We are in the time and culture where the church has largely discounted the Bible. But, we need to gain insight into the Bible and be challenged by it.
As John concludes this book, he doesn't slack off at the end. It is actually "The Apex" and John ends the book in an amazing way!
