Rolf Kenmo is joining #1nspiring as a mentor & coach.
This is a really inspiring story to me. We are so pleased, Rolf Kenmo is joining us as a mentor and coach in our network. Feel free to reach out if you want to know more about Rolf or HumanGuide.
Rolf Kenmo has had his own consultant company since 1981. One of his employees had a brother, who was CEO for a travel agency. They had winter bus journeys to The Alps. Therefore, they should hire bus guides every summer. His employee asked him 1986: Are there any tests based on the personality theory you talk so much about, which can be used for their selection? There wasn’t any so-called questionnaire in the whole world based on Leopold Szondi’s personality theory. Only two photo-based tests. One for clinical purposes and one for vocational guidance. Therefore, Rolf decided to develop that with a psychologist network.
The questionnaire worked well. They could even predict that a person should have a good match for the Alpes in France, but not in the Alpes in Italy… Based on that experience he started to use the test step by step in his job as a management consultant. It was hard. Very few know about the theory.
Then there was a kind of breakthrough 1999 after Rolf participated in a global conference focused on Szondi’s theory. He got praise for the lecture Using Szondi’s theory in working life. Then things went quickly. He met a psychologist from Brazil. She liked to try the test. She was impressed. So quick and so accurate! Therefore, she decided to translate the test into Portuguese. Moreover, she also did a validation study in Brazil, so the test was 2009 the first of its kind to be approved by the authority SATEPSI. At that time she got a partner and set up the company RH99 with him. Today 2022 the test is most used in Brazil. More than 500,000 tests have now been done.
