The Whole Story - Conversations with Jamason: Recent Episodes

Jamason Daniels

Welcome to The Whole Story!Over the next few weeks, months and beyond I plan to sit down with some amazing people, some of whom are my closest friends and family to bring to you their real-life stories. People who from the outside may be perceived or labelled such things like lucky, gifted, macho, strong, independent, or may even be looked at as having the perfect life. A few months ago, I decided to share part of my own story, and it dawned on me that many of us don’t really know The Whole Story of others in our lives, even the ones we love the most. Our relationships and friendships are too often superficial for many reasons. Either we don’t want to share due to being embarrassed or ashamed, or we don’t want to ask questions in fear we may upset someone or it may be a no-go zone. This coupled up with technology, social media and humans in general having less and less face-to-face interactions. Unfortunately, because of this many of us are feeling alone, and like we carry a huge weight on our shoulders. When in reality, there are many many people going through or who have struggled with the same issues we are facing. I will speak to as many people as I can, when I can, in hopes of only 2 things. 1 – having deep & meaningful conversations with beautiful people and 2 - to help those listening who have or are going through similar situations in their life that don’t need to feel alone. I hope you enjoy the podcasts, and next time, don’t be afraid to ask the person next to you about their Whole Story.

The first conversation with my Dad in 10 years. This was a tough one. Thanks for listening!

Possibly the most vulnerable and open thing I have ever done. I very rarely talk about my Dad or our relationship. It's always been something that people don't talk to me or ask about because they know he's not around. But if I cant ask questions and find out more about the one person in my life that I fully do not understand then how can I ask others to do the same. So I travelled across the country for the first time in 10 years to ask those questions... Thanks for listening!

Lucas White, where do I start. This conversation is unlike any conversation you’ve probably ever heard between two males before.. I’m almost certain of that.

This episode will be put out in 2 parts and to be honest that’s almost not enough. 9 straight hours of conversation has been one hell of a process to get through but here it is.

Whitey, as he’s better known is one of my great friends but also my boss. He’s a husband to Bec, a father to Harry, Oliver and Bella. And as you will hear, in 2013 Lucas started a small family business formally known as GV Smoke Alarms. That has now transformed into HomeSafe GV and grown to almost 30 employees and still rapidly growing. A company in which I am honoured and trusted to be the General Manager of, and for that I am so grateful.

I can’t thank Lucas enough for his unbelievable strength in opening up. This conversation is as raw, open and as honest as you are likely to hear. Unfortunately, males just don’t have these types of conversations, and I just know this has the power to help so many others who are going through hard times.

In this episode I give a quick update after episode 1. Thank you to EVERYONE who tuned in. Now for Episode 2 and I get to sit down with Peter Hill and hear the amazing rollercoaster of a life he has lived. I will be forever grateful for the life lessons and wisdom that this man has passed onto me over the last 6 years, and after hearing his story it's not hard to see why he's achieved so much. I look forward to the many more lessons still to come my way in the future. Thank you.
