This week, i did a bass cover of another song of Joseph Hills (of blessed memories) professional known as Culture titled "Won't Somebody". I listen to his songs a lot, especially at night when i want to sleep, i allow all the songs in his album play all through the night. I also learn some good stuffs from the instrumentalists, like the synergy, the discipline, and much more.

I traced my root back to one of the songs that inspired me to love reggae music, International Herb by Culture. It is how the bass player of the song played the bass with so much discipline and harmonised with other instruments nicely that got me so into loving the bass guitar.

Hello friends and neighbours, vibes week 15 is on us and this week, so far, its been a good week with top notch entries from beautiful talents.
I have had this song ring in my mind for weeks and i kept thinking of how to do a bass cover of it in a spectacular way. Last week, i kept trying to figure out what to get on the song but time wouldn't wait for me, so in the process of creating, i missed out on week 14. Though the call to action was to cover one of Sam Feldt's discography but the tune of this song was still in my mind.
This week, i took it really personal and decided to face my fears squarely. To some degree, i love what i incorporated into the song. My brother and friend @utyalban came around and added a great cent to the creation of this tune.

I lent the voice of the legendary Bob Marley to respond to this week's Pain theme. Legendary Bob described in this song how waiting in vain could be a painful thing. The lyrics in this song is a true experience to so many persons, therefore waiting in vain by the legend, Bob Marley couldn't leave my mind, so i decided to do a bass cover of it.
The heart becomes faint when what it waited and hoped for gets deferred. The time invested in the wait, the expectations saved and the joy truncated, could be likened to chaffs in the face of a wind. Though some long waiting can be shortened by simply walking away, but a discerning heart we need.

Hello friends and neighbours. How wonderful it is to be in the 11th week of the Vibes competition already. To think that this competition has galvanised my bass skill, may the blessings continually abound with the organisers of this competition.
This week, i took it on myself to cover a song by an Ivory Coast breakout star, Bello Falcao titled Dibango Dibanga. The makossa beats in the song couldn't allow me resist hopping on with some makossa lines. The melody from this song really got my gears grinding too, which i am hopeful it should get your gears grinding too.
I really had a good time doing this cover and i want you, yes you in particular to have the best time listening to it, that's why you should use make of your earpiece/headphone. So if you had listened to it before without the earphones, please listen again and feel the difference..

Hello friends and neighbours, welcome to my blog as i respond to this week's theme which is Eurovision with a groove, chordings and solo from the African continent sound. I've actually worked on this piece for some days and things kept creeping in and stopped me halfway... Today, i decided to finish it and I'm glad with the result i got.
I had to hold down (lock) the groove, do the chordings and also solo on the sound. I also employed a backing track which i mixed using the GrooveMixer app.
I believe this piece will sound more cool if you have your earphone on.., believe me, the experience with it will be awesome.

The turn over of talents in the community has really been on the better side and it keeps increasing each week. It simply shows that people are beginning to love what is going on here. I have been blessed by so many talents here and it makes me feel so good.
This week, i did a bass cover of song titled "Bad Influence" by Omah Lay, a talented Nigerian artist whose music has always been filled sweet melodies and messages. I love his style of music and the energy he uses to keep his audience relaxed and mesmerised.

Culture actually approached music with a simple but unique perspective... Musicians of that time wore discipline as a coat. You can imagine the Bassist just staying on a particular groove, lock it in and mesmerise the audience with an heavenly sounds of melody.

To participate in the week 6 competition, i did a bass cover of a song titled KPK (Ko Por Ke) by Rexxie ft Mohbad. The song is actually strange to the foreign listeners but the thing about music i have come realise is that it breaks this language resistance that exists. This means that despite the native dialect music is done with, the message and the vibes will still be passed directly or indirectly..
Which covering the song with my bass, i had so much fun doing and i hope you'll have fun listening to it. But for a better experience, headphones/earpiece is recommended.

Hello friends and neighbors, happy new month to you.. Isn't it lovely that we're in August already, a grand and dignified month…? It's good to be here and also participate in the 73rd week of the community's African music contest. One of the songs suggested by the community, which is "show me off" by Asa, is the song I opted to cover this week. I listened to @mhizerbee's cover of the song, and it was heavenly how she covered the song, cos she did it so well. Infact, I got inspired to also try some bass groove on the song. You only need to make use of amplifying device like headphones 🎧🎧, or the likes to have a good feel of the bass.
Asa has been a great Afropop, Afroswing, R&B/Soul musician for years and she's still doing the Lord's work musically till date by giving us good music, "show me off" being one of my best.
It is very good to show off the persons we love, but for some personal reasons, which might not even be relevant, some people like their love life to remain behind the curtain, atleast for the duration which they wish. Is it bad, no….!
While some other people love being shown off to the world via social media, physical show off and every other show off…, which is still very good. Whichever makes anyone happy, it is very okay…
But I wish to express my concern about my mini practice combo. The baby has been with me from when I was still struggling to grip my bass well. It's been there, helping me amplify my bass sound, so that I could rehearse well.
Some weeks ago, I picked my bass to rehearse with my big boss and friend, @utyalban, the baby refused to sound like it used to. I was a bit curious about the issue. Then I tried some few tricks I knew, non worked, I was scared that the baby had gone too soon. But after consulting the engineer and my baby combo was diagnosed with some sound issues, I smiled, knowing she can be breathed upon again.
Could it be she was upset that she wasn't ever shown off to the world, I sha don't know. So today, I have decided to show my baby off to the dignified Afritunes community make she for continue to serve me with all her heart..

What's good friends and neighbors.. Hope you are doing well today. I've been absent from activities in the community for some weeks now. Reason being that my mini practice combo which aids in the amplification of the sound from my bass had some issues… The sound I.C died too soon, so I had to fix a new sound I.C for a better sound. It's all good now.

La razón es que mi mini combo de práctica que ayuda en la amplificación del sonido de mi bajo tuvo algunos problemas... Spyro who is a Nigerian artist became popular after he released his single "Who is your guy" which featured Tiwa Savage. The single was a hit. It is very okay to build or belong to a family outside of the biological sphere but it is imperative to have those families stand on Godly principle. This will have God's goodness rubbed on the concerned families.
It is my sincere prayer that God's goodness rubs on our families that we may find peace and happiness in all endeavors.

Any country where the rate of poverty is considerably or very high, most times records a high number of death trolls and sometimes, a high level of crime rate. This is why the major concern of most developed countries is the war against poverty.

I listened to an old song by Olamide, a talented Nigerian artist titled "poverty die" and I enjoyed the vibes from the song so well and was able to relate it with the theme for the week which is War. I think the "poverty die" should be an affirmative statement people should be making daily because poverty isn't a good and war against it shouldn't be a light one.

There are various subgenre house music of which I decided to do a bass cover of one of them by a Nigerian artist by stage name Kcee. This music is titled Ojapiano. This song, since it was released, car owners over here love playing it whenever they are handling the steering. One of the things that made the song really stand out is the local flute that was incorporated in the song.

Hay varios subgéneros de la música house de los cuales decidí hacer una versión de bajo de uno de ellos de un artista nigeriano de nombre artístico Kcee. Esta música se titula Ojapiano. Esta canción, desde que fue lanzada, a los dueños de autos aquí les encanta tocarla cuando manejan el volante. Una de las cosas que hizo que la canción realmente se destaque es la flauta local que se incorporó a la canción.
The love people have for the song over here is just massive. First time I heard the song, twas lit and thought of what bass line I could introduce to the song. I tried the first day, I played several bass lines, but I couldn't get what I really needed. I retired for that day and tried again the next day. I still didn't get a nice groove for the song. I kept trying different grooves until I opted for the one in this video.
El amor que la gente tiene por la canción aquí es enorme. La primera vez que escuché la canción, me encendí y pensé en qué línea de bajo podría introducir en la canción. Lo intenté el primer día, toqué varias líneas de bajo, pero no pude obtener lo que realmente necesitaba. Me retiré ese día y lo intenté de nuevo al día siguiente. I'm always pleased to share some African tunes to international communities here on hive. The beauty of music knows no bounds because where language seems to be a barrier, melody is always there to rent down that barrier. The Spanish music I listen to, especially in this community, keeps making me appreciate international music more and more.
It'll therefore make a lot of sense if you make use of headphones to listen to this presentation because it'll give a very nice clarity of the bass.

I don't know if this relates to another person here but the themes I see here are always a drive for me, not just virtually, but in real life endeavors too.

The healing and refreshment nature blesses us with is just exceptional. During my high school days, my geography teacher, who loved telling us inspiring stories about nature one day came to the classroom and as he was about to start teaching, he said to us, "wondering how I am always able to tell stories, even though they're fictions, I present them and they sounds so real and true? We all echoed no. He smiled and said to us, I communicate with the trees and leaves. They give me inspiration for stories to tell".
We were amazed and we wondered how that could be possible.

Hello friends… Good morning from my end, hope you're holding up pretty well. And I believe the few days of this new month have been going smoothly, if it hasn't, then don't let your guard down, the forte will soon come your way, and when it does, grisp it. Ever been told to sacrifice something for something better, perhaps, been told to endure pain for a while, that joy is coming?
You see, the thing is, most times, this joy seems not to come and we as humans, we are always very swift in adjusting to numb the pains of that situation. It is a good thing actually, a very good thing. This is because most selfless sacrifices for a particular thing to happen sometimes result in a forever wait. Then the saying, "when the going gets tough, the tough gets going" seem to be the encouraging words to not give up.
Since it is not too good a thing to wallow in self pity and keep hoping for the best, we can always live the moment and make the best of it. This is the true spirit of resilience. And at the end of the day, we will have reasons to celebrate ourselves for not giving up. Hence, I decided to do a bass cover of this song,"I Celebrate" by Waconzy.
I woke up on Tuesday morning to the tunes of this song from my neighbor's room. I don't know why but the song kept making more sense to me. Earlier this week, Tuesday to be precise, I woke up to the sound of Charlie Puth's songs from the radio station. His style of music feels so special and I couldn't help but head on to Boomplay and download his album. I kept playing the song over and over again and I didn't feel bored listening to the songs. He speaks some reality in his songs and that made me fall more in love with his music. I opted to do a bass cover of most or all of his songs but I got so engaged this week. I decided to score the songs this weekend but I still didn't have a chance to touch my bass. Even though I know for sure that some of the songs have some technicalities, I will sit my ass down and make the best of my time with the songs.

I Did a lil research about Charlie and I learnt he started dedicating his time for music at a very tender age of about 4 years. He started learning how to play the piano back then. Was also wondering how he's always able to flow very professionally in jazz music. I learnt from my research that he majored in jazz piano while in music school. I'm sure if I can dedicate some time and score one of his albums, it will give me more insight into jazz music and will augment my music morale.

Had a friend who was slowly dying in silence, refused saying a thing to anyone, was feeling he'll be okay on his own. But he forgot that sharing bad moments with close friends is a big flex. It will already halve and okay some considerable percentage of the problem. Being okay entails sharing what is bothering you with some close people. You don't know where your help will come from. Though a lot of people ain't worth entrusting confidential matters with. But there are still trusted friends.

The Nigerian music industry stands out very unique amongst all other music industries of the world. This is because her artists dedicate so much energy in not just making the music, but also promoting it. The afro music in Nigeria has engraved the country's image on the world's tablet. That's why Nigerian artists always have their shows sold out anywhere in the world.
Recently, one of Nigeria's finest artists, Rema left most people in awe when he sold out his show in India. Taking afro pop to India was really a big flex for Nigeria as a whole because a thing of such hasn't been boldly recorded in the Nigeria afro pop history. He said it five years ago, and he did it a few days ago.
Davido, another unique artist, dropped his new Timeless album two months ago. His music trended and is still trending. The love most people have for the songs in the timeless album just bursts the roof.
Music is one of the things that has kept the head of Nigeria really high. I'm not just talking about secular music alone but also gospel music. I don't think it's just talent these artists have. They also have grace. Their hardwork in making music has always given them good results.
From Davido's timeless album, I did a bass cover of Over Dem. I think this was Davido saying, despite how tough life might seem, I am tougher, no matter how hard life might feel, I'm harder. Hello good people of the Afritunes community, greetings from my end.
This week, I thought of bringing something different here. But before, here's a briefing I've got for you, yes you reading me right now.
Few years ago, I met this guy in the church. He was invited to come play the bass. In my ears, I heard some simple but first class grooves from the bass but I didn't know whose fingers those grooves came from. I decided to wait till the end of the program, then I walked up to the stage and saw this guy who did all that stuff on the bass. I shaked him and we exchanged contacts.
I initiated a conversation on reaching home with him and the nigga was too cool to flow with. I told him I would love to learn how to play the bass, and fortunately, this guy agreed to show me the rudiments of playing the bass.
Not long after, we became close like we've known each other for decades. Seeing us was no more a boss and student but two good friends. This was how I became friends with @utyalban and till date, this guy has been a great bass teacher and a good friend.
He came to my place and we created something. I did the bass chordings while he did the solo as oga where him be.
The harmony from this play got me really thrilled and twas a nice time with @utyalban and I believe this collaboration will keep happening in the future.

In Africa, Nigeria precisely, there's a style of music popularly known as highlife music. This music is specifically about incorporating the melodies from musical instruments with native songs. Highlife music is played in occasions like Traditional marriages, funerals and in church services. Though other occasions do play this kind of music but the above mentioned first two places are where it can frequently be heard.
En África, en Nigeria precisamente, existe un estilo de música conocido popularmente como highlife music. Esta música se trata específicamente de incorporar las melodías de los instrumentos musicales con canciones nativas. La música highlife se toca en ocasiones como matrimonios tradicionales, funerales y servicios religiosos. This highlife music is what inspired me to learn how to play the bass. It teaches instrumentalists core discipline while on stage. There are times a bass player will be on a particular bassline for a couple of minutes without doing any riffs and runs. This is to teach the bass player how to maintain his role during a gig. Though we young musicians find this style of play to be boring, the experienced musicians will always tell us to stick to our role.

Imagine a bass player leaving his role as a bass player during a groove to do what the guitarists should do. This will leave a vacuum in that gig at that time of switching. It's not like it is bad to be free and express oneself during a gig, but there are times riffs and runs kind of become noise. This is when it is too much. All of these are the advice I got from an experienced musician. So I've been trying my best to stick to my role when I should and switch when it is necessary.

It's been a great year so far and it makes more sense that we are already in the second quarter of the year. That's enough reason to be grateful.
The 60th week of the Afritunes music presentation is already here and all I can see here is growth that knows no bound.
I feel I express myself better with the bass when it has to do with music. Singing would have been my most preferred actually, but I have a knack for playing the bass and it grinds my gears pretty well. So as it supposed to be, I present to y'all a bass cover of a song titled "Breakfast" by Ugoccie ft. Phyno.

Some years ago when I was a toddler, when I see people on stage with the bass hung on their shoulder, I really used to admire it and always wish it was me. My aspirations to play the bass was on a level really high. Glad I didn't let that dream die or dim.
Some years later, I enrolled as a student to learn how to play the bass. The highs and lows on the way was just running me down but I held one thing to heart which was that every thing I needed to pull through this endeavor was behind those huddles so I couldn't give up. I pressed on and on untill I got here. This is me trying to introduce myself as a first timer in this community and a bass player. My name is David Thompson in full and I am happy to be in this week's hive music festival.
I've gone through the rules of turning in entries and I am glad they aren't cumbersome or insurmountable.
As it is my first time, and I brought you a bass cover of a song titled Lagos city sung by a Nigerian artist known by his stage name as Bella Shmurda. Many people have different philosophy about money. The Holy book say "the love money is the root of all evil", and still added that "money answereth all things".
Some people believe that money brings happiness while some say money doesn't bring happiness. The different views about money from different perspective is endless though.
As for me, I just need the money then I will test the amount of happiness it can bring and the amount it can't bring, and i will also coin my own philosophy. Make the money just dey make man for just use am level up😁😁😁.
Davido, in his recent album which he titled "Timeless" has something to say about money. Though he was actually referring to the way women love money, which is not a bad thing, after all, who no like better thing.
He featured Cavemen and Angelic Kidjo in the song and infact, those guys really did the most of the song. The Timeless album has so many songs I will do bass cover of in the nearest future but for now, "Na money" bass cover I don bring to tingle your ears small.

When the theme for the week dropped, I sure knee exceptional entries were going to flow in. And I really appreciate everyone for their top notch entries.
Was at a colleague's place when I heard a song play from his music box. The song is titles "Shame on you" and it is sung by Morris D'voice. This song has been in existence for over 8 years but I just heard it for the first time two days ago. This Ghanaian artist really did noble for releasing this song. I tried to get some handful information about him but couldn't really get enough. But I will still research more and check out if he has some other songs. But if you know of other songs released by him, please do recommend.
The song actually sounds very funny but there are funny truth embedded in it too. If I say I'm a friend to someone, I must be a good one. In the words of the great Abraham Lincoln, he said "Whatever you are, be a good one". So if you wanna be a friend to someone, be a good one, also wanna be an enemy, I think being a good one will be ideal. But it is more blessed to be a good friend.
As a bass player, I am good at expressing my feelings about a particular song with my bass. So I did something on this song, a cover actually. So please do make use of headphones or earpiece and believe me, you would have a better feel of the bass than listening to it without headphones on.

Hello everyone... It is me again. I hope you're all holding up good... For some weeks now, I have been busy trying to finish up my thesis. The project is a bit broad and requires me to move from place to place in order to conduct some interviews with the related persons so as to get salient information and also conduct some practicals for the purpose of clarity of the research. This has kept me away from my gigs but this week, I couldn't afford to miss out on such a captivating theme from our spotlight artist @sleemfit. It feels so good to realize that the Hive Open Mic, a project that began with just a few members, has actually escalated to a wide audience with super talented members. I won't be wrong if I say that this is indeed the Work Of True Love birthed by our very respected @cabelindsay. I must say a big SHOUT OUT to @donirosayandi for the wonderful theme for the 139th week of the Hive Open Mic. I just wanna say that flesh and blood didn't reveal that theme to you, but it can only be the supernatural spirit 😆😆.
As part of my own work way of expressing the work of true love to other community members with my bass, I got inspired by a song by Johnny Drille which say How are you my friend. I don't know what your response would be but I would love to ask, How do you do, my friend?. How has this year been with you? Has it been fair enough as you expected? If not, how are you feeling? Would you re-strategise and give yourself another chance next year to try again?

Hello everyone, it is my pleasure to be a part of this week's Afri tunes. I took the time to explore the community after I was invited here by the community's official account in one of my entries in the Hive Open Mic community. I have really seen top notch participation here which makes me feel really impressed because there's a lot to learn here.

Hello everyone, trust all is well.Today is actually a remembrance day for the young men and women who got killed on this day in the year 2020 by the security agents who were supposed to be protecting the lives of the citizens.
Those young men and women were out on a very peaceful protest to set things right for the Nation. Security agents who are supposed to be friends with citizens are always out there, brutalizing young people, using their guns to threaten youths, forcing them to search their bags and their mobile phones, even without any search warrant.
But in the process of this protest, while chanting songs of freedom, all they got was bullets from the same security personnels. Twas a tragic day for us as a nation. The memory is still fresh in our mendula. We will never forget.
I wish this week's theme was Human Life Freedom. But since there is still Life and Freedom, I decided to still go ahead and do this song titled 20 10 2020 by an African giant in the music industry known as Burna Boy. Hola a todos, confíen en que todo está bien.Hoy es en realidad un día de recordación para los hombres y mujeres jóvenes que fueron asesinados en este día en el año 2020 por los agentes de seguridad que se suponía que estaban protegiendo la vida de los ciudadanos.
Esos hombres y mujeres jóvenes estaban en una protesta muy pacífica para arreglar las cosas para la nación. Los agentes de seguridad que se supone que son amigos de los ciudadanos siempre están ahí afuera, maltratando a los jóvenes, usando sus armas para amenazar a los jóvenes, obligándolos a registrar sus bolsos y sus teléfonos móviles, incluso sin una orden de registro.
Pero en el proceso de esta protesta, mientras entonaban cánticos de libertad, lo único que recibieron fueron balas de los mismos cuerpos de seguridad. Fue un día trágico para nosotros como nación. El recuerdo sigue fresco en nuestra mendula. Nosotros nunca olvidaremos.

I really love how @ruthlopez gave us something to reminisce on. Infact, the theme is an exceptional one. Trust is an endeavor everyone need to imbibe. From trusting the process of every step one takes in life to getting to the point where one can look back and see how far he or she gone, is a super power, because without trust in both self and the process of every journey, giving up will always be inevitable.

Hello world, it is my pleasure to be here again this week. Trusting the Process is simply a theme that can be found in all spheres of life's success.
Every step to success always begin with a process and that process will not be of fruition if the person taking that endeavor doesn't believe and trust in himself that the process will work out smoothly. Without mincing words, I must say that this week's theme is one my best theme ever since I started participating in this community.
My entry for this week is inspired by a song titled Mama Yo by Simi. It seems I have really been doing bass covers of Simi's songs recently. It is all because of the inspiration i get from her songs.
In the song, Simi was all out praising her mom for all she did for her from infantry. For me, our mothers deserve all the accolades for caring for us from day one. They believed in the process of our growth despite all the challenges they went through. This is why I hold my mom in very high esteem because she trusted God for every process of my growth. With love, I want to say that God should bless all mothers.

Hello great minds, I am glad to bring to you all my entry for this week's Hive Open Mic. The Hive Open Mic community has really travelled this far to it's 124th week and it's been a great journey of unleashing great music prowess in people.
This week, our spotlight musician @anna-newkey gave a theme which is so hilarious to me "Moonshine".
As always, there'll always be a song for a particular theme and this weeks theme isn't an exception..
I paid great attention to Soldier by Falz ft. Sumi (both Nigerian superstars). This was Simi, an innocent gurl whom Falz came to profess love to but believing that his influence as a soldier will make Simi get flipped over. But Simi on the other end wasn't intimidated a bit by the uniform Falz was in and so she made him know that his assertive love shots were just nothing but moonshine😁😁😁.
I would recommend headset for this my entry so that a better feel of the bass can be filtered. And also, don't forget to help me suggest ways I can improve because I get better when constructively corrected.

I decided to try something different this week by harmonizing my bass play with my boss and friend @utyalban. I earlier told @fernanblog that I'll sometimes be doing stuffs like this with @utyalban. I'm sure he'll want to see this.
I actually did the chordings while @utyalban made the melody. This piece was inspired by the theme of this week which is "A Better World for All." I believe being able to have a better world we musicians have a great role to play by sending something that is worth harmonizing the world.
This piece came from the reservoir of our creativity as musicians and I couldn't think of a better place to share it than this great community. I would really love to have your constructive reviews on this piece and please don't forget to let me know better ways I can improve.

Yes...! Love hurts... it's damn true that it hurts but for love to come out really true so that it can be defined as true love, it needs to be refined. And it is that process of refining that the hurts is felt.
But does that really mean we should give up on love? No... I don't think giving up on love is a great idea, even though some persons already have given up on it. The hurt is still part of the game just like how failure is part of the game on the journey to success.
I made a cover of I'm Available by Waje ft Yemi Alade, both of them are Nigerian artists.
In the song, the two great artists were announcing their availability for the person whom they love. A verse of the song say I'm Available, waiting for your love. It simply doesn't mean love doesn't hurt but sometimes a little wait is of great essence.

I really love the theme of the week chosen by the great @ovey10. The theme took me back memory lane to a song by the Cross River Nationale titled Nyong Eyen Unen meaning a wayward chick who refused to listen to the mother and then ended up being endangered by the predator. It is actually not the meaning of the song that motivated me to do a bass of it but the instrumentals of the song. The trumpeter and did a great work in the song. Hello everyone, I humbly bring my entry of this week's theme which is "Doing the Work", being the deep thought of @Ik666. The thing is, refusing to work is as worst than what I'm don't know the best adjective to classify it with.
Most people tend to give on their work to success because they feel discouraged as a result of what they've been through. But for me, what I've been through should be what I should grow through. If I give up on the way, then I've fucked up.
I played along the rhythm of this soft salsa music of the legendary Nigerian musician, Fela Kuti. The title of the song is Trouble, Yanka Wake Am. It simply means that trouble was just in it coolest state, just resting, but all of a sudden, because one wants to show off, he ended up waking up the sleeping trouble. I just love the groove. I hope you'll love it too.

Hello great people. This week's Open Mic really got me smiling when I read about it.
It immediately reflected a recent song by Ladè, a Ghanaian artist titled "Adulthood na Scam" in my mind. I can remember the freedom and peace of mind of being a child and having everything given to me at just a request. But getting to the adulthood stage, life begin to happen to me. I realized that it's either you get back up when life knocks you down or remain on the floor and be a coward.

Hello great musicians, I am glad to present my entry for this week's hive Open Mic. I first want to thank @ebingo for unleashing such creative piece from the reservoir of his uncommon faculty. It just pictures a lot about our dear Nigeria.
A lot happens, infact, we Nigerians most time begin to feel like the world is coming to an end because of the shits that happens here. But we are very optimistic that there could still be a glorified peaceful country for us.

Hello everyone, happy weekend. I believe y'all had a blissful week.
This week, one of the musician I respect so much, @eugelys birthed a fantastic theme which made me understand that music embraces all aspects of life, whether good or bad.
I was thinking of a song to to relate the theme and then "Fvck You" by Kizz Daniel, a Nigerian artist, hopped into my mind. The song is an expression of pain by the singer as a result of the fact that all the loyalty he trusted to his girlfriend was sent to trenches by his girlfriend. The girlfriend was believed to begin to be bent over by some rich guy she came across with.
This is to say that music embraces heart break in a way we can't even imagine, infact we breathe music because it has a way of rejuvenating our swaying hope.

When I saw this week's theme "paper kites", I was kinda asking myself, what really made @elisonr13 chose this theme because it really coincide with one song I've been playing very often lately. This theme is really striking and I loved it. Thanks so much broh @elisonr13 for this theme.
One of my favorite song, "Take You To Hell", sung by Ava Max came to my mind and it really sound so cool to me to use for this week so I decided to try something out..
There's a verse of the song that says, if you gonna treat me right, I'll fly you to heaven every night but if you leave me by myself, I'll take you to hell. That verse alone captured my attention and I said to myself, I must try something with my bass..

Hello.... It's been some weeks submitted an entry. I actually had some issues with my recording device. It got faulty and that really suffocated me knowing that not being active in this blockchain means starving my audience. But I'm back now and I'm grateful to God for helping me figure another way of recording this week's open.
"Brave" is really a powerful word everyone needs to tie to their hearts wherever or whatever situation they find their selves. I always remind myself that I need to be brave to push through whatever situation it is, knowing that with a brave heart, success is always achievable. Hello everyone... The Hive Open Mic community keeps igniting the music man in me. There was a point I just almost gave up on music because of some stuffs, ranging from the fact that I didn't have a bass of my own to be rehearsing to not having a practice combo. Like, everything was just there and I was just always upset and fucked up.
One day, someone gifted me some cash and I first rushed to where combo was sold and I deposited the money there. Poco a poco, I was able to pay it all. Then few months after, my boss gave me this bass guitar to use for my practice. This is how I was set free from the shackles of giving up on music. My freedom was given to me on the platter of silver and ain't taking it for granted.
I'm saying all this because this week's theme just revamped the music man in me so I decided to take this song Joy by Whitney Houston to express how much joy I feel, plus, this is my birth month. It's just a great combo and it keeps grinding my gears.

Imagine a virtual world where we could stay and then have no freedom to express how we feel. Such a world would be so suffocating but this is hive, a Blockchain where everyone is allowed to express how he or she feels about a particular thing. And it even makes more sense that we musicians are even allowed the freedom to express our feelings with our instruments, the expression I love calling "Soul Expression".

The song is sung in Igbo, a native dialect in Nigeria. It simply talks about love. Every living being who aspires to be successful should in the understand what the ethics of life entails concerning success. For example someone who wish to be successful should first know that fear of failing has to be dealt with.
