Hello everyone, for this week on the vibes Web3 Music Competition, I'll be doing a song titled "OLUWATOSIN" by Steve Hills ft Tkeyz, I'll be doing an acapella version of this song so I do hope you like it. Singing Acapella is not my style, but this has been my vibe these past few days. I love this new era of appreciating my vocals and trying to sing without accompaniment from any instruments.
This song is viral here in Nigeria and there has been a trend of people doing a cover of it, so I decided to hop on the train too.
This is not like my regular entries, because this is my first time doing a song like this, and also because it's beautiful and just raw vocals.

This week's theme is so beautiful, and the entries have been wonderful. I'm dropping mine a little late, but I hope you enjoy this one.
This song is a dream, and whenever it comes on, I stop whatever I'm doing and close my eyes to listen to it. Honestly, I can't believe I still remember this song word for word hahaha*.
My neighbors are so noisy, I begged them for a few minutes to record a video and they didn't disappoint me by being their true selves 😩
Pangako sayo is a Filipino series that was so popular and still is because of how interesting the movie is.
Pangako sayo series is my childhood, my teens because I can tell you for a fact that I've seen this drama more than 10 times lol.
In line with this week's theme "Legendary Movie Soundtrack," I thought, why not make a cover of this drama's theme song? Hehe. I went back to perfect the lyrics and pronunciation before singing.
I can say for a fact that I love Filipino series and their songs are just so packed with so much emotion.
This is more than just a cover song to me, because just singing it brings back beautiful memories from my childhood and I hope anyone who listens to this cover gets why I love this song.
Who would've thought I would make a cover of this song after so many years hahaha. I just remember back then, my sister's friend would ask me to sing this song and I would, and she would praise me and buy me sweets and juice hahaha. Even tho I was singing rubbish hahaha.

Vibes Web3 Music Competition wk#37, in line with this week's theme, I'll be doing a song by Doris day " Perhaps" .
I was so busy I forgot to post for week #36, it was until I saw the polls I realized the week was over lol... Guess what? I almost missed posting my entry for this week too. I checked the vibes official post for the new week on Tuesday and saw that It was ending on the 17th.... Well instead of giving up, I just had to look for a song from the 30's and 40's era and trust me when I say this has to be one of the hardest themes ever... After hours of looking for a song , I finally stumbled upon the "Que sera sera" song and searched the artist and found out she had a hit song from the 40's era and the song was so catchy... I couldn't have picked a more lovely song for this week than this.

Before now, I normally categorized EDM as Hip hop lol .. I thought they were the same type of music, but yh! We learn everyday.

Vibes web3 music competition wk#34, for this week, I'll be doing a song by the legendary Toni Braxton titled "Ubreak my Heart" You know there are a couple of songs that even in a 100yrs to come, they'll still remain timeless and beautiful.
I love this song and it just popped up in my mind some days ago while I was struggling to pick a song for this week.

Vibes wk32, for this week's theme 2nd language, I'll be doing a Spanish song by Carla Morrison titled Disfruto.
Disfruto is a very beautiful song and I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do. After that, let's talk about my Spanish hehe, sounds good right.
Music is very beautiful! it motivates, it triggers emotions, but most importantly, it speaks. I mean, how can you listen to a song you don't even understand what they're saying, yet you're crying your eyes out. I remember when this song was trending on tiktok "Mesias" , trust me when I tell you that more than half of the people who sang to that song didn't even know the meaning of any word. Yh, I'm also on that list I don't know the meaning of that song till today, but I can even count the number of times I cried and poured my heart to that song. Should I talk about Voila by Babara pravi....... Hmmm that song will always be special in my heart, I sang that song with so much passion and beauty without even knowing the meaning any word in that song (maybe voila, but I wasn't sure hahaha)
Yh yh! I know I deserve a trophy for always posting my entry videos late all the time lol. Like why wait till the night before the deadline to submit 😂, well it's not intentional,nor is it a habit. I honestly lose track of time most times, getting a quite space to record has become a constant problem and most of all, getting a phone to record too.......
I almost didn't post an entry for this week, reason because, I made a recording about four days ago, but the noise in the background was so loud it sounded like they were my backup singers. Funny thing is that all the takes were bad. I only realized that yesterday when I finally had the time to edit the video, now it turned out not only the audios were bad but also the videos, all of them were lagging for no good reason.........
I recorded this video today around 7am this morning, edited it and now I've finally posted it . So I hope it puts a smile on your face

I've been doing cover songs of other artists for some time now, so I thought to myself, why not do an original for week#32 since there's no theme for this week.
I downloaded this beat from YouTube sometime last year and ever since I only did some simple freestyle to it. Fast forward to this year January, I was playing the instrumental and did a little freestyle to it, my roomie asked for the artist and I was shocked because I was practically singing rubbish. The tune sounded right, but the lyrics were a total mess lol. I told her it was just a freestyle and she was so impressed. Well since I remembered the tune, I decided to write an actual lyrics that made sense to the song. At some point, I was stuck ( should I say I had a singers block) I'm not sure if that's a thing hahaha......
I didn't write this song alone, but with the help of a friend. At some point I was scared of doing an original because of the constant thought of "what if it's not good enough"

Hi guys, it's Hive Open Mic wk#260, and for this week's theme "Sudden change", I'll be doing a song by Olivia Rodrigo titled "Drivers license Life is filled with unexpected twists and turns, one moment you're happy and in the blink of an eye everything is been thrown off balance. Sometimes you're just there without knowing what step to take coz everything happened just too fast. Hive Open Mic wk#257 for this week's theme, "Quarezma," I'll be doing a song by Hillsong titled "Lead me to the cross." I love this song so much, it's a reflection of the death of Christ and the sufferings he had to go through just so we could be saved.
According to Google, "Quarezma" is the Spanish term for "Lent." It's the period of celebration of the death and rising of our Lord and Savior. I chose this song because it's perfect for this week's theme.
It's the season of Lent, and we're constantly reminded of the love and intimate sacrifice Christ had to make on the cross just so we could be saved.
Lent is a season of repentance, reflection, and a time of renewal. It's a time to reflect on our lives, acknowledge our sins,and ask for forgiveness from our maker. This season is a time to drop our pride, fears, wealth, and doubt and just surrender ourselves as mere mortals to the one who gave us life.
Normally during this season, the Catholics always make a playlet of Jesus Christ being beaten and killed on the cross. They act this walking on the road, and I'm always moved to tears whenever I see this because I can only imagine one person being flogged, stoned, and killed on the cross just because of our sins, just so we can live. Vibes web3 music competition week#20, for this week, I'll be doing an original song I and my sister @caithlyn wrote titled "Oblivion".
I saw a song Raye did where she talked all about her flaws and how everyone wants her to be this perfect girl but she's not. After listening to Raye's song, I decided to be vulnerable and do the same thing. I downloaded the free beat from Tubidy and have been working on the lyrics and tune for days.
This song is about me, how I felt at a point in my life, and I still do some days. I wrote this song years ago but in my diary. My younger sister is a poet, so she did all the magic. We added some new lyrics and changed so many things.

To me, it's the desire to escape a painful experience and also a longing for freedom. That's why I called my song Oblivion
Body shaming people is not okay; they didn't create themselves, so why make them feel bad. We're not perfect beings and can never be. You have a pointed nose, but that doesn't mean every other nose that isn't pointed is ugly.
Words are so powerful, Just saying you're ugly to someone can change the whole course of their life, make them commit suicide, or even hide themselves forever. Not everyone is strong.
Let's be mindful of that and live life. Your opinion about my skin color wouldn't change it from black to white, so let's just live life and mind our business.
I've seen a couple of people put their insecurities on others just to feel better about theirs. I've experienced that. These people feel good when you feel bad.
Sometimes we never outgrow the pain and it's stuck with us for life
The thing about toxic people is that it's hard to disconnect from them. They're like leeches; they only disconnect from you when they're full, and then they leave you sinking.

I love how inviting and simple this week's theme is. To me, it's more like a be yourself kinda week and show us what you got week together, hahaha.
I chose this song because I feel happy whenever I listen to it. I always can't help but sing along whenever it comes on.
It's such a lovely and crazy song if you ask me( I meant the crazy in a good way lol) so singing this song gave me so much joy because you can see me singing and dancing my heart out( I'm not a pro dancer so don't judge me 😂)

Hive open mic week#229, For this week's theme, I'll be doing a song by Ed Sheeran, "Photograph." I do hope you like my cover of this song.
The mind tends to forget easily, so having a photograph to look at helps us to remember things that happened in the past. There are some places we've visited and activities we did with our loved ones that we've forgotten about, but seeing a photograph from that day would send all the memories running back to you.
I lost my mom some years ago, and honestly, I haven't forgotten about her, but I'm human, so not every day is the same. I have her picture on my phone, so whenever I'm down or just when I randomly see a picture of her smiling, it brings back a lot of good memories, and it makes me smile. On most days, just looking at her face comforts me a lot and brings back all the memories of all that happened that day. That's the power of a photograph.

Hive Open Mic week #228. For this week's theme "Sounds Of Freedom" I'll be doing a song by James Fortune "I'm healed by the blood". This is one of my favorite gospel songs because whenever I listen to it, I reminisce about the days when I was still in the teenagers choir back in church hahaha.

Hive Open Mic week#227. For this week's theme, I'll be doing a song by Shania Twain, " When You Kiss Me," Shania is an amazing artist, and I think all of her songs are just so calming, relaxing, and also amazing.
When I saw the theme for this week, I was a bit shocked because "Power of a kiss?" Hahaha, well, I think it's an amazing theme, and kissing someone you're in love with can make the whole world fade away.
As funny as it sounds, just a mere kiss holds a lot of power. Some people were conceived from just kissing, and then nine months later, boom, there's a baby lol. I'm just kidding.
The power of a kiss, Kissing has a lot of benefits; it creates emotional bonding, helps relieve stress and anxiety, and the list goes on and on.
I chose this song because it goes in line with the theme of the week, "power of a kiss." In this song, the artist talks about the power of love and how all her troubles and insecurities are forgotten when she kisses the one she loves. It's a song about a perfect relationship where she feels safe, loved, and respected.

I was so excited when I saw this week's theme because for me Disney was a huge part of my childhood and even up until now, I'm still a Disney girlie hehe.
Most of the songs I sang a lot while growing up were from Disney, from snow white to Cinderella to you name it; the list goes on, and they all made my childhood.
It made me reminisce about the old times.
I love the movie Pocahontas. I remember watching it when I was younger, even tho I did not get the full message behind it, I still enjoyed it.
I loved this particular song because of how beautiful the lyrics are. To be honest, the first song that came to my mind when I saw this week's theme was "Let It Go" from the animation Frozen 😂😂. Plus, don't tell me I was the only one who had it in mind lol.
It was very nice learning a new song from A-Z and I'm glad I could finally sing one of the most beautiful Disney songs of all time.
My favorite line from the song is

This song has a deep meaning for nature and how much we need to protect our planet at all costs and not just cut down trees and burn everywhere to build houses for incentives.

Hive Open Mic week#226. For this week's theme, "My Prayer" I'll be doing a song by Hillsong," I Surrender".
Prayer is a way of communicating with God. Praying is like making a request from God for something you want because you can't see him.
I love how spiritual this week's theme is and how it makes me reflect on my relationship with God.
Some time ago, I drew far away from God because I felt like he wasn't there, and all of my prayers were just hitting the roof and coming down back to me.
I only got to understand that prayer is like planting seeds, you might not get the results instantly, maybe your proposed harvest time has come, yet you have nothing to show forth. Just know that your prayers are heard.
I chose this song for this week because it's a prayer of surrender. God is the only one who can hear our cries and also solve our problems. Surrendering dings you all to him gives him access to you, and that allows him to take total control over everything that concerns you (there comes faith). I hope you like my cover of this song

Hi guys, it's another edition of Creative Sunday, and I'm glad I got to share this video with you all.
On Friday was my younger sister's matriculation, so she asked me to make her hair for her.
Her school is about an hour's drive from the house, so she comes home most of the time, and since her sisters can make hair, why pay for it in school hehe. I started braiding her hair around 12pm and finished around 6pm since she was going back to school that same day. It was an easy style so it required less time. I'm glad with how the hair turned out and I'm glad she liked it.
She specifically asked me not to film her face, because she applied lots of powder on her face 😂😂. I didn't get to attend her matriculation because I was busy with work, but I'm glad she's now officially a student. Happy matriculation sisi @caithlyn
We used the big pack of attachments since the braids were a little bit big, and also because she wanted it long. Am I the only one who thinks attachment is now smaller and pricier? Well, at least that pack was enough and there was even a little left for me to use In braiding my all back 😂
This is my first time making video content like this, and I can boldly say that this is so stressful and fun to edit at the same time 😂😂. I'm so happy with how the video turned out ☺️, and I am looking forward to sharing more hair-making videos with you all. Until next week, bye for now☺️

Afritunes week#126, for this week, I'll be doing a song by Good Girl LA, "Bless Me". I love this song and I think this is the second time I'm doing a cover of it hehe.
This is the only song I know from the artist, I don't know if she has other tracks, maybe she does, but I think she deserves an award for this song because it's just beautiful.

Vibes Web3 Music Competition Week #16. For this week's theme "Roots" which was chosen by @pandamama , I'll be doing an original song I wrote about 10 years ago titled You're A Liar. I know it's crazy because I had to go back to my old books to get this one out. I've always loved writing songs and this right here is the first love song I composed. I was 13 years old and already writing about heartbreak hahaha. For the record, I hadn't experienced heartbreak before.

For this week, I did an original song, titled "Shades of Blue" and I hope you like it. I saw this beat on TikTok some days ago and decided to do a little freestyle on it and it came out perfect. I didn't do this in one take. It took me a couple of days to finally come up with the song.
I wrote so many songs on this beat hahaha. Funny how it seems music is very easy to write, but it's not.
I just allowed myself to flow with the beat and everything came naturally. I was surprised at what I cooked haha.

Some days ago, I was having a little chat with my younger sister and we got talking about this particular song, I told her I'd be making a cover for it this week, but I'll do it differently.
I did a little freestyle for her and she said she didn't like it. She said some songs don't need to be altered, you just have to sing them the same way the artist did.

Vibes web3 music competition week #8, for this week, I'll be doing a classic by James Brown " It's A Man's Man's Man's World" which was released in the year 1966. I chose this song because firstly it goes in line with the theme of this week which is 60s vibes, and secondly, because I fell in love with it immediately after it came on.
You know there are some songs you just love but don't really know the lyrics lol.
Yup, I thought I was a pro at this one, I only realized I couldn't sing the whole song from the beginning to the end with just the instrumental hahaha.
I practiced this song for some days, which is unlike me. I have to admit that this has to be the toughest song I've done so far. After so many takes, I finally did it yay!!.

While some people still think the song is sexist, I Believe it's not. It's more like a husband giving credit to his wife for his achievements, That doesn't mean she didn't put in any effort, it just shows how valuable and important she is.

I was listening to some songs on YouTube music and I allowed it to do its thing by randomly playing songs for me. Something in the orange by Zach Bryan came up and I instantly fell in Love with it. I couldn't help but put it on repeat for days, okay just kidding, I listened to it for more than a week hahaha.
Let me let you in on a little secret whenever I hear a new song that's very nice, I tend to listen to it for days until I get sick of it. But the problem is I never get sick of it , I just discover another one and do the same thing over and over again hahaha.

This song is about the end of a romantic relationship.
You know it's over , but you still have a little bit of hope that someday it would go back to how it used to be.
It's also about love and hope.

He misses her in the morning when he sees the sun and admits that it's over between them. But somehow in the evening when he sees the sunset, he has a little bit of hope that it's not over, that just maybe they'd get back together.
Something in the orange is from his top album "American Heartbreak" which was released on May 20th 2022.
Although the original version is different , I did the piano version of it because I felt the emotions more.
I had so much fun making this video, and I felt like I was telling my story but just with the lyrics of someone else. I hope you like my cover of this song.

Hello! I'm so excited I got to share my entry for this week. #Afrtuneswk90 I've not been able to make a music cover for some time now, because well the laptop I use has now finally given up even after repairing it.
I've always felt like acapella doesn't sound nice ( when I'm the one singing). So singing and recording without an instrumental was a bit of a struggle.

This song was about his Aunt who committed suicide.
Hard times are part of life. You would never know what the other person is going through, because they wear a big smile every day, and laugh like there's no tomorrow, we feel we have the most problems and the other person doesn't.

I chose this song because it talks about our earth and how we just take, kill, and pollute everything around us. In our world today where everything is being destroyed, animals are being killed, and almost everything is going into extinction still yet just a few people care and are creating awareness for it. Thank God they are.
mother earth gives to us and it seems like we aren't satisfied with what she gives and we want to take everything all at once and by force. Even when she gives, we waste it because we feel there's much more from where that came from.
In my part of the world, water is just like having to see the sun every day so we tend to use it anyhow we want. Later, I started seeing on the internet and in ads about how wasting water can dry out the ocean lol,( you know what I mean😆).
I was in a taxi when we passed a very beautiful place but the next thing I saw was a very big river, and it was filled with waste floating on it. The funny thing about it was I saw some people throwing things inside the water not minding if the fish in the water might die. Still, yet they didn't care.
I hope we all do our part for mother earth and nature by recycling, reusing, and reducing the number of things we use to make our world a safer and better place for everyone.

I am really glad I got to work with @meyateingi on this post. I have been traveling for a while, and getting to Port Harcourt has been a nice time to rest and relax. I was very happy to meet @meyateingi. I heard her sing on Hive and commented on her posts (even though I can’t recall which ones). I was thrilled to work on this post with her, and I am sure she was happy to work on it with me too.
This week’s theme is about "fraternity," which is weird considering Hive Openmic has sort of been like an online fraternity for me. I have been out of participation from the weekly contest, but I was glad to meet someone who is family and was willing to join voices and energy with me (shout out to her for the video edits).
This is for everyone who has left our beautiful fraternity, including me. I am still going to be out for a while as I prepare for my exams because I hardly ever have the time to be around. I will be back with a different account and hopefully, I'll be able to participate more.
Enough about me @ebingo… Hive Openmic is such a wonderful place to build and sharpen your singing, instrumental, production, and video editing skills among others. If relationship was measured by the number of calls, texts visits I think I would be the worst friend anyone has ever had. It takes a lot of time to experience healing, it is a gradual process. life throws things at us that we feel are too heavy for us and it causes so much pain. life throws physical pain, and emotional pains and we break down and find it very hard to get back up. Sometimes we find it very hard to heal and get back up on our feet.
Surround yourself with the right people that will show you love and help you heal. Just like a patient needs a doctor and their family to tell them it's gonna be okay and that also aids in their healing process.
No matter how broken you are, or how down you are physically or emotionally, just know healing is a gradual process and in time you will see results.
I chose this song by Maroon 5 because whenever I listen to it, I have this joy, this feeling that everything is gonna be okay. I've lost some very important people in my life and I've been depressed for a long time trying to find peace and heal emotionally. I won't lie it's very hard but our good memories keep me going. Like I said healing is a gradual process❤
