Hello, Friday! It's time for another edition of #alivevideomaster series. Today, I'm going to talk about changing daily habits. I'm pretty sure we all have that habit we want to work on and change for the better. So, how do you work on changing a habit? Well, I shared some of the ways by which I lessened my dependence on checking my mobile phone. I do believe that was a good habit to break. Now, I enjoy more time for other things.
One way to change a daily habit effectively is to identify what exactly you want to change. As we all know, change does not happen overnight. We actually need to plan for it, have a goal in mind and set a timeline as to when we expect results. Of course, it really helps if you start small and work from there. Also, if you wish to change to a new habit, make the new habit easier to achieve. I don't think that needs further explanation. LOL! Remember to reward yourself every step of the way so you'll be motivated to keep going.
It helps to track your progress and make adjustments or revisions along the way as it suits you better. If it's such a habit as quitting smoking, I think it's helpful to find a support system in your family or loved ones. They can really cheer you on and work as motivators so you'll be able to develop new habits instead. Lastly, carry on and keep going. If you're determined to change something, I'm sure you'll always find a way to do so. You can do it. I'm rooting for you.

I'm back on video! It's been a few weeks since the last time too. Today I just felt like sharing a bit more about my container garden. If you follow my posts, I mentioned about my productive and satisfying Sunday. After waiting for a while, I finally found someone who could and did help me fix and improve on the container garden. I have my hands full and have less skills when it comes to gardening that I usually just put it off. I'm super happy that before the year ended, I was able to tick off another task on my list of goals for 2022.
Do share with me some gardening tips. I welcome that a lot.

I'm back after a hiatus of some weeks from being in front of the camera. LOL! What better way to get back oncam than showing you where we have been yesterday. We finally pushed through with the visit to the columbary. We decided to go ahead of the holidays next week to avoid the crowd. Besides, there are more restrictions when there are more folks visiting. It was quiet and peaceful. We're glad to be there to pay respect to Mom. We have arranged flower arrangements and blessings for her for the 31st October.
The good thing about the columbary is it's still in the metro, although in another part of town. We got there via Grab taxi. We also went around a bit at the nearby mall. I will share a separate post on that.
What traditions do you follow for the Halloween / All Saints' Day?

It's the day after the typhoon supposedly made a landfall, but we woke up to a slightly bright day. However, in the afternoon, the weather took a turn for the worse. There's intermittent rains throughout. In fact, as I'm writing this, it started raining really hard once again. Oh boy! My daughter will be on her way home from work. Uh-oh! She might come home to a bad mood. Yaiks!
Well, I guess we need to be prepared for any weather, not just in the literal sense. I'm also referring to challenges in life or unforeseen circumstances that may pop up suddenly. My late dad had the best advice: "Expect the best, but prepare for the worst." I try to embody that in my daily life. I also try my best not to be reactive, but I'm only human and can sometimes get really pissed off. LOL!
It's the last week in September. I hope you'll prepare for the last quarter of the year. I'll see you in October for my next edition. That's next week!

It's been rainy and gloomy the whole day, but I totally love it! This is the perfect cool weather I have been waiting for the whole year. It's not a typhoon but probably just monsoon rains. It's perfect just the same. I wonder how long it will stay.
It's been a week down into using our fiber connection. We love the faster connection. Now I can have two video channels open and working simultaneously. That is definitely great!

I'm sharing the latest on the homefront. The latest upgrade was the migration of our DSL to Fiber connection. The tech guy is a pro and I'd say did a rather good job of doing the installation.
I also mentioned upcoming plans amidst changing climate and weather. DIY skills need to be acquired and with the help of DIY videos on YT, my daughter and I might just pull it through.
I also have a featured guest on the video, my sleeping apprentice.

Anyway, this comes to you a day after we have been catified. That simply means I have added some cat wall shelves for our cats to enjoy. It started as a dream. We adopted some of the outdoor cats (Xin, Nian, Kuai, Le) when Mom passed on. It has been a year last May. It took us a while to put away and give away a lot of the old stuff. It became part of my goals last year to adjust living beside the cats inside the flat. From goals, it became part of my plans to catify. Some plans take time. Some need to be adjusted to circumstances. Long wait is over. One of my plans just got achieved over the weekend.
Having goals and converting them to plans really helps. It's like having a road map that guides you where to go. The map helps lead you back on the right path, in cases of detours. It worked in my case.

When you find yourself working too hard or when you're pushing yourself over the limit, remember that health is wealth. Try to find some rest. Take it slow sometimes. Go according to your natural rhythm. It is important to stay healthy and well at all times. I'm pretty sure medical expenses can be very expensive.

The first part which I inserted last was a bit of tour of outside the flat. I just came home from the neighborhood 7-11 then.

My answer is every chance you get. Life is a work in progress. Learning is a lifelong process. On the video, I'm in the cats' room showing the first step I took in the catification of Mom's former bedroom. I need to make room for the cats and make them feel at home. That way, they won't be all over the living room. ππ€£ my last mention of this upgrade was in March, but the added costs made me hold back a bit. Now I have come to realize that if I don't act on it, nothing will get done. A small step is way better than none. One day at a time... Perhaps my next update and feature on this in six months. π€π€
Each day I strive to be a better version of myself. It takes time, but at least I have made that commitment. I will keep working on it.
PS. My pc has been upgraded. I also mentioned that three months ago. It's almost ready. I will share more about it next time. Like I said, work in progress...

I'm back for #thankfulThursday and #aliveandthriving. This was the video I recorded yesterday during the thunderstorm in the late afternoon. It turned out to be freakish as it sort of wreaked havoc in other parts of the metro. I just saw the video clip on twitter. ππ€£ I'm staying away from mainstream news. This early on I'm preventing myself from getting stressed.
I'm focusing on 3D life goals, mainly catification (I borrowed the term from researching online on how to make the flat more cat-friendly). It will be a long process and will require effort and patience, not to mention time and money. ππ€£ plus I will need to up my DIY skills. Slowly but surely...

It was a Saturday well spent outside of the flat. Got the short hair I've been meaning to get. Plus spending time away from the keyboard was refreshing.
The Sunday afternoon thunderstorm made the weather cooler and an afternoon nap suddenly felt good. However, all other tasks got pushed back.

It's Philippine Independence Day celebration. For me I say, what freedom?? Aside from being robbed of two years due to the plandemic, most happenings seemed to have been predetermined or chosen for us. I can only think of the dismal results of the national elections in May. Sure we want change, but we didn't exactly get the change that we wanted. Personally, I'm not at all looking forward to the coming days, months, or years. Inshallah!
'Nuff for now as it's my birthday week (Saturday is the day). I intend to enjoy a worry-free, stress-free week... Just for the week! ππ€£ I'm pushing aside all concerns for now. I'll be back soon for my #aliveandthriving posts.

It's mostly great waking up next to the beach. Well, that would be a dream come true for me, given the plandemic for the past two years. It's running on its third year now. Travel restrictions are still in place in some places.
Woke up to a Sunday morning to find our very own bentonite beach right in the main living area. Oh no indeed! Turned out some cat frenzy may have happened that my unused half of a 10L pack bentonite litter sand got strewn across the room. Luckily, it was clean up Sunday so I had a cleaning person coming in to help clean. Whew! Otherwise, it would be a nightmare cleaning up all that sand. ππ€£ all's well that ends well. I will need to secure my bentonite litter sand next time around.

I'm back for #thankfulThursday and #aliveandthriving. We had a really bad connection yesterday. Telecom company was probably doing maintenance work but we didn't get the memo. I waited for my daughter's videos to upload (her side work), but it was moving at 1% every 10 minutes. I tried napping on my comfy chair while waiting, but I realized that I might as well go to bed and leave it uploading all night. Unfortunately, I woke up with a bad lower back. ππ€£ oh well.. Getting old is no fun for me. I feel like an old, worn out machine. π’π’ anyway, just gonna upload this and hitting the sack. I need to catch up on more sleep.

Time flies! May is coming to an end in two days. This week will be a solemn one for us as we remember Mom's passing. It will be her first death anniversary on Tuesday, May 31st. ππΌππΌ

A big package came today. It was sent from Spain last March and arrived today. It took awhile but at least it arrived in good condition. ππΌππΌ lots of knick knacks and what have you.. Just when we've been actively decluttering π€£π we'll find ways to share the blessings with others.
We're still awaiting confirmation on the day tour this Saturday. I really hope and pray it pushes through as I have not been out and about for over two years now. ππΌππΌ

Serious talk for today's #midweektalk. I pretty much ranted and gave my opinion on what's to come in the Philippines. If I thought the outgoing administration was bad, wait till the incoming one gets sworn in. ππ I'm not excited to find out really, but I will just take things as they come. Perhaps I will block out the news and focus on my three P's -- people (me & my daughter), plants, & pets. I pray we survive what's coming ππΌππΌ I still believe the Philippines needs a miracle BADLY. AliveAndThriving for my Chooseday thoughts series. What did you choose to be / to do today?
Being a fur parent is a commitment. It's like being a parent all over again. My daughter's an adult now and takes care of her guinea pigs. I just assist her in cleaning them every Sunday. The cats are another matter as I need to clean them daily. Having kittens is no joke as they need to be potty trained. That's my huge challenge at the moment. I've been doing extra cleaning lately. It's pretty tiring but needs to be done. Oh well... That's it for now! I welcome any tips you may have in potty training kittens. πΉπΉ

Time for #mindfulMonday.
Today let me share two things that made me smile. The first one is postcards in my mailbox. I love sending and receiving postcards. I have organized boxes for them. They are arranged per country. I've had this hobby for seven years now. I did lose two years when we couldn't send out any postcards nor receive them either. Hope we get back on track soon and be able to send out to all countries once again.
The second thing is the arrival of my gardening tools. It's like a sprinkler or automatic dripper. I just need to attach a water bottle to ensure my plants won't dry up even if I'm not able to water them right away. I just need some water bottles.
That's it. Life is simple. I like simple things that make me smile. ππ

We're entering the last full week of May. In less than ten days, it will be the sixth month. That means 2022 is half way through. I believe it's time to look back and assess how far we have come in the year. How close are you to achieving your goals? In case you have achieved them, it's time to set new ones. If not, find out how you can accomplish them.
I'm in need of a getaway. I hope my daughter's plan pushes through, so I will have news by next week. Until then...
