Dr. Rebecca R Block, an experienced educator and passionate advocate for student engagement, authored the book Can You Help Me Give a Sht?* after speaking with teens across the country.
Her deep dive into the lives of these young people revealed a profound disconnect between their school experiences and their genuine engagement.
Many students shared stories about when and how school fell short, and what made a real difference when it didn’t.
Rebecca's book combines these candid conversations with extensive research in psychology and education, offering a practical roadmap for fostering lasting motivation in young people. Her approach aims to cultivate the kind of motivation that sustains energy and enthusiasm over the long haul, rather than merely triggering short, panic-driven bursts of productivity.

Late bedtimes with kids can often feel like an uphill battle for parents. The struggle is multi-faceted, as it not only disrupts a child's essential sleep routine but also tests a parent's patience and stamina. Kids can become increasingly irritable and difficult to manage as the evening wears on, making bedtime routines a real challenge. Furthermore, late bedtimes can lead to sleep deprivation for both children and their parents, impacting overall well-being and cognitive functioning. Balancing work and family life becomes more challenging as late nights result in tired, cranky kids the following day, potentially affecting school performance and extracurricular activities. Finding a way to establish a consistent and early bedtime routine can be a daunting task, but it's a crucial part of maintaining a healthy and harmonious family life.

In this very first solo episode of my podcast, I am talking to my fellow cycle-breakers.
Understanding the impacts of generational trauma on our parenting, helps to put things into perspective and focus on what we can actually change now.
We understand ourselves better, knowing that we are not wrong. There is nothing wrong. We are merely the result of generations before us.
And we can break the cycle. We can uplift all the women before us.

This episode is so exciting! It gives you an introduction to human design and how it can help you to raise your children.
We all have our own human design chart, based on the date and time of birth, and the location. It provides a map of who we truly are, authentically, without the conditioning of our upbringing and the environment around us.
This is where I got my human design chart.
I'll be using human design in my parenting programs in the future, so stay tuned.

In this today’s episode, I talk to Monica Cox about unexplained infertility. So many women are experiencing delays in conceiving, a journey paved with emotional distress, guilt, sadness, and shattered hope time and again.
Monica dealt with years of unexplained infertility, failed IVF & survived several miscarriages before becoming an IVF mom & getting pregnant naturally even though the doctors said there was nothing she could do to improve her situation.
We talk about what consciousness means when becoming a mother, and how to trust your intuition and gut feeling when it comes to medical treatment. We also talk about sexual education and what TikTok has to do with it all.
This episode is full of valuable information about unexplained infertility and a conscious start to motherhood. I hope you benefit from our conversation.

My guest today is Jennifer Maroney. Jennifer has an incredible story of resiliency that began as a young child, witnessing family violence and being a survivor of sexual assault.
At such a young age, with minimal coping strategies, she began to create a “secret life” which only led to poor boundaries, low self-worth and confidence, and disordered eating patterns. She began at an early age putting on various masks to try and hide from the pain of her life. A public success but a failure in private, her poor choices ultimately caught up to her and she came to a crossroad.
As a mom myself, the thought of my children being sexually assaulted turns my stomach. While I know I cannot protect them from everything in the big wide world out there, I can make sure to create a safe home for them where they feel seen, heard & understood. Where they can trust me with whatever happens to them outside of this loving home.
Jennifer talks to us about the impact this lack of safety in her home had on her future decisions.

There is a strong focus on the baby after birth, which is understandable and totally necessary right? I mean, we need to be sure the baby is healthy, growing well, breastfeeding, or bottle feeding well so they can thrive.
For a baby to thrive, it is also of utmost importance that the mom is well. If the mom of a newborn lacks support and guidance, this will have an impact on the baby.
Dr. Obidi is a board-certified pediatrician practicing in Maryland where he owns a multi-provider family practice. He is also CEO of Newborn Prep Academy where he runs an online newborn preparation course that helps new expectant and recently delivered moms understand how to care for their newborn baby and what to expect so they can feel confident, empowered, and ultimately enjoy their babies.

I talk to Desiree Argentina from the wellness project with des who uses play her sessions with children all the time. It’s a great episode to break the stigma of therapy for kids and change the perspective that play therapy is not real therapy.

This is such a vulnerable episode about the stillbirth of Tonya's babyboy at 40 weeks.
A stillbirth is the death of a baby in the womb after week 20 of the mother's pregnancy. The reasons go unexplained for 1/3 of cases. The other 2/3 may be caused by problems with the placenta or umbilical cord, high blood pressure, or infections, just to name a few.
My guest today is Tonya Montella. Tonya’s first pregnancy resulted in stillbirth after she and her husband found out that the baby didn’t have a heartbeat anymore.
Tune in to hear what helped her to move on and which support really helped to go through this incredibly difficult time.

In today's episode, we will be talking about hypnobirthing. The stories and images we see about birth condition us think about birth in a certain way, such as “this are scary” or “or this is very hard”.
I recently launched my hypnobirthing course and I am so excited to be supporting parents to be in their preparation of the most significant event in their lives so that it also becomes the most beautiful one.. As a hypnotherapist, I am aware of the power our mind has in our day-to-day life. This is no different in pregnancy and birth, and even beyond in parenthood.
Ronja describes her birth experience as sacred, and even 11 years after, she still remembers this event in detail, calm and beautiful.
If you are interested in hypnobirthing, here are a few book recommendations:

The amount of women who experience abusive relationships is mindblowing.
Abusive behavior, where the intimate partner intends to exert power and control over another, affects 1 in 3 women worldwide. 85% of domestic violence victims are women. Women between the ages of 20 to 24 are the greatest risk of becoming victims of domestic violence. This can include, physical violence or threat of physical violence to get control, emotional or mental abuse, and sexual abuse.
Today’s guest is Grayce McCormick. Grayce ended an emotionally abusive relationship of 14 years, finding the strength to raise 3 children by herself.

In this episode, I am talking about growing up with a mother who suffered from mental illness with Lisa Arterton.
It has been long suggested that negative events in childhood may be associated with poor mental health throughout the life course. Parents' psychological problems may lead to negative parenting behaviors, lack of attention to children's needs, or increased dysfunction within the home. As such, mothers' and fathers' mental health problems are key sources of stress for children and have been linked to worse mental health and more behavioral problems for children during their youth up until adulthood.
My guest is Lisa Arterton. Lisa grew up with a manic depressive mother and learned to survive her environment by people-pleasing, pacifying, and being unable to communicate needs or wants.
Lisa Arterton - Self Esteem Queen, is a qualified Hypnotherapist, Brain Wave Recursive Practitioner and a Neuroscience expert. Lisa is a passionate & purpose-fuelled therapist on a mission to reduce the proportion of women stuck as doormats, people-pleasers, stuck in undesirable situations thanks to rock bottom self-worth! Using the power of neuroscience Lisa helps women break free from the trauma of the negative relationships of their past, so they can rewrite their future & cycle break.

Exhaustion is overwhelming and it's not like normal tiredness. It’s like trying to move through thick mud and think through thick fog. All you want is to lie down and sleep, and then sleep some more, after that. You can't function because everything leaves you wiped out. Trying to juggle different aspects of life and having less time to prioritize their own health is quite common among women with symptoms of exhaustion.
In this episode I talk to Jessica Pozo, a Registered Nurse and Registered Health Coach certified in Functional Medicine. Since she can remember, she has always had a passion for helping others in any way she can. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree with Honors from Ryerson University in 2014. Naturally drawn to the prevention side of healthcare, Jessica worked for many years in oral surgery, sedation dentistry, and finally IV nutrient therapy.
After years of testing the limits of her body, she started to struggle with burnout. Through a combination of naturopathic medicine and lifestyle modifications, she was able to revive her energy tremendously and set out to help others do the same.

Gaslighting is very common in abusive relationships. It makes the abuser look sane, and the victim insane, sometimes even believing they have a mental illness. How do you detect this? How do you get out of such a relationship?

Covid-19 was first detected in December 2019, with an estimated 6 million deaths worldwide according to the world health organization Covid-19 has exposed persistent inequalities by income, age, race, sex, and geographic location. People still face complex and interconnected threats to their health and well-being, rooted in social, economic, political, and environmental aspects to their health. The impact on mental health is wide-ranging: griefing the loss of a loved one, isolation, and loss of income can trigger mental health conditions or exacerbate existing mental health conditions. Many people may be facing increased levels of alcohol and drug use, insomnia, and anxiety.
