I started this podcast in my voice memos as part of a project; but now it’s something more. Come with me as I gather information on what it is to be an ally and what we can better do to grow as people.
Sadly, this is where our journey ends. I wrap up our prolonging conference of allyship and send you off with a heartwarming message.
This is a continuation of “MINI EP 5 1/2: Teacher Insight Part 1 - Ms. Gonzalez”. However, this time it’s with Mr. Michel (another educated and well-rounded person).
We have a perspective of the kids, but what about from the teachers? I call upon Ms. Gonzalez to answer some questions about her experience as an ally and how she feels that society can cultivate as a whole.
In America at this moment, homophobic actions are on the rise. Mx. Shaw, Andrew, Jinu and I all speak about how neighboring communities can be allies to the LGBTQ+ community.
The MRA is a distant group that not many know about, so we decided to shed light about them. Danae, Violet, and I speak about sexism and how it affects the ability to help in the lives of children.
Racism is our first stop, and we go in depth. Andrew and I have a discussion on his life as a POC and how he combats racism in everyday society (as well as how his friends give him a hand).
