Authentic conversations with fellow travellers and seekers exploring topics of spirit, science and world.
Unmedicated childbirth. Natural childbirth. What images , thoughts or feelings spring to mind upon reading these words?
This conversation is the result of a series of talks and explorations with guest and close friend Mandy Cai, host of podcast Nurtured Perspectives.
Mandy shares her unmedicated childbirth experience with me and this really led to us asking deeper questions about what we (and medical professionals) truly understand about the physiology of a woman's body, beyond the physical and technical workings of how a child is birthed. I found it remarkable to hear about what takes place and to realise that there is so much we don't understand. And what became even more evident, and I have always believed this, is that as marvellous as modern science is, it can never replace the genius of the human body, nor can we even begin to grasp what levels of consciousness are tapped into during this process and how this can impact the parent-child relationship going forwards.
ABOUT MANDY CAI
Mandy Cai is a documentary family photographer based in Shanghai. Passionate about childbirth and breastfeeding advocacy, she believes in birth as a powerful rite of passage to love, heal, connect, grow and transform.

Through difficult or traumatic life events and living lives that do not fulfill us, we can feel depleted and 'less than' we were before, as if a piece of our soul were missing. What if there was a way to call back these soul parts, so that they can be of service to you again? I talk to DeAnna Torres a certified Hypnotherapist and Shamanic Practitioner who shares with us her experiences and perspectives on what the soul 'is', the process of soul retrieval and how soul retrieval can help us, not only spiritually but with the physical and emotional body to empower us to live more fulfilling lives.
This is a process I personally experienced for myself and if it speaks to you on any level, I can highly recommend it.
ABOUT DEANNA (www.hope4youtoo.com)
DeAnna Torres is a certified Hypnotherapist and graduated from the California Hypnotherapy Academy in Sacramento, which was directed by Katherine Zimmerman PhD.
In conjunction with her hypnosis training and therapeutic studies, she began an apprenticeship in shamanic healing, studying intensively with Dr. Hank Wesselman and Jill Kuykendall to learn the beautiful art of soul retrieval and spirit healing. She found that these two practices blend very well, and that together they allow her to guide her clients into an even more balanced way of being in the world.
Her greatest joy in this work comes from helping people to find freedom: both from the debilitating effects of soul fragmentation and from the tyranny of unconsciously-held beliefs about themselves, others and the world around them.

Maria Souza, founder of GAIA Learning, shares experiences and insights from her time living with an indigenous tribe in the Amazon over a 7 year period.
We discuss their deep reverence for nature, the importance of ritual and nurturing children and their animistic beliefs and cosmology.
We do not need to imitate but we can certainly listen, observe and learn. What can we learn from the wisdom of indigenous tribes? As it turns out, a great deal.
ABOUT MARIA
Maria Souza is a Social Ecologist and Educator. She holds a Masters in Ecology and Spirituality from Trinity Saint David, UK and a postgraduate in Indigenous Subjects from Schumacher College. Maria founded GAIA LEARNING to design and deliver innovative experiences for self connection and environmental change.
Originally from Brazil she has worked for 7 years in the Brazilian Amazon with the indigenous people and Conservation Units. Maria spoke at the 13th United Nations Permanent Forum for Indigenous Issues and participated together with Vice President Al Gore at the Climate Reality Leadership Corps Training. We find ourselves in a time with tremendous advances in science, with enormous amounts of information out there ( often contradictory) on how we should look after our bodies.
How about we start to look to ourselves as to what our body needs to stay healthy? What tools are available to us to help us track and maintain our health on a deeper level?
Perhaps you've started questioning these things, and possibly started considering that the body's innate wisdom has the answers.
I dig into these thoughts with biohacker and cellular microscopist Mark Hathaway, who has developed a common sense approach to bring the body back into a state of health, his exciting new venture and how our consciousness impacts the body's ability to heal and stay well.
"Prevention is the new cure"
ABOUT MARK
Mark Hathaway is a former organisational change agent turned biohacker, cellular microscopist and trainer. In 2000 Mark suffered a mild heart attack and upon further investigation more serious underlying issues were revealed, including fibromyalgia, systemic inflammation and chronic liver congestion. Preferring to pursue natural methods of healing and confronted with contradictory information regarding his condition, this led him down the rabbit hole of self analysis and into his current career path.
Mark studied and trained extensively on how to reverse chronic and serious illness (including his own) using the wisdom from medical geniuses including T C McDaniel , Carey Reams, Emanuel Revici, Thomas Riddick and Dr George Watson.
Mark has guided thousands of individuals on how to create a healthy internal metabolic, biochemical and bio-electrical environment conducive to healing. He has worked with clients from all over the world since transforming his own state of health, with the majority of his clients suffering from serious long term health issues and degenerative diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disease.
He has practiced both live and dry cell microscopy extensively for 10 years and his new company Biosynergy Health Technology is about to roll out the first of many blood imaging labs in the USA which will in particular provide support to holistic health practitioners. The aim is to build a global culture of focusing on prevention as the new cure. Because if we’re healthy, we cannot get sick.
Mark’s philosophy is clear “Your body is more than capable of healing itself, if only you give it the environment that it needs, in order to do so.” Yes, it’s as simple as that.

What is divine feminine energy? How do we embrace this energy in a modern landscape?
Lorraine Glatigny joins me in a frank and honest conversation around her discovery into embracing this energy, the challenges modern society is facing around feminine and masculine 'roles' and how we can step into this power together, to shape times ahead.
ABOUT LORRAINE
Lorraine is a Western healer, who commits her work to creating a bridge between traditional medicine from the Amazonian forest and the ancient knowledge of European medicine that we have lost. As part of her initiation into healing, she realized that she needed to understand what constitutes the essence of feminine nature, and to find the "wild" woman within her.
Her exploration of the feminine energy among various traditional women drive her today to share this knowledge with women all over the world, in order to help them to listen to their body and femininity.
She learned with Panshin Beka a “Muraya” women, a title given to the most advanced level of Shipibo medicine and did a one year diet in the Amazon. She spent several months with various traditional Filipino healers who passed onto her the oldest practice of healing, the "Hilot", therapeutic massage. She went to meet the Queeros, the last Peruvian Andes descend from the Incas and lived among the Tao't Batu (people of the rock) in the Philippines, one of the few tribes isolated from the rest of the country, where her integration was possible because they recognised her as a healer.
She dedicates her life to being at the service of others. She uses what her masters taught her and the tools she developed to help to heal, to feel more in harmony, in peace with ourselves. She works with western plants, with flower elixirs, as well as workshops focusing on the reconnection with the sacred feminine energy.
