In this episode, we'll be discussing the power of regret and how it can be used to move us forward.
We'll start by discussing the concept of regret and how it can be a powerful motivator. According to Daniel Pink's book "The Power of Regret: How Looking Backward Moves Us Forward," regret can be a powerful force for change. By looking back at our past mistakes and learning from them, we can make better decisions in the present and future.

In this episode, we'll be discussing the lessons that I learned about myself over the past few months. These lessons cover a wide range of topics, from what motivates me to how I respond to internal and external expectations to how I can lose focus on the spiritual nature and drift into survival mode.
First, we'll be discussing the lesson I learned about motivation, which was drawn from the book "Drive" by Daniel Pink.
Next, we'll be exploring my tendency to respond to internal and external expectations, as outlined in Gretchen Rubin's book "The Four Tendencies."
We'll also be delving into the war between the spiritual and animal nature, as exemplified in the story of Jacob and Esau in the book of Genesis. We'll discuss how easy it is to get caught up in survival mode and lose focus on the spiritual nature, and how we can stay grounded in faith.
Finally, we'll be talking about my personal experience of commanding a pain to leave my body without forcefulness, just faith. We'll discuss the concept of spiritual authority and how we can tap into it to achieve great things.

Looking for a better approach to time management? Look no further than the book Procrastinate on Purpose: 5 Permissions to Multiply Your Time by Rory Vaden.
According to Vaden, these five permissions will help you multiply your time so you can make the most of each day.
The Bible tells us in Ephesians 5:15-16 to "walk circumspectly, redeeming the time, because the days are evil." This verse reminds us that our time is limited and valuable, and we should strive to use it wisely.
Let's explore the concept of procrastinating on purpose and how it can help you make the most of your time.

Where do dreams come from, what do they mean, and how do they impact your life? I'll be answering those questions on this episode of Marketplace Ministry. Our foundational scripture for this episode is Joel 2:28 which says, "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions."

Ready to have your best year ever? If so, this episode is a great place to start. Find out the importance of goal setting and how to set SMART goals to help you achieve success in 2023.
Before we get into what it means to set SMART goals, let's talk about those things we need to start, stop, do more of, or do less of in order to reach our goals. I share some of the things I'm committing to stop doing, start doing, do more of, and do less of in 2023 so I can have a better chance of achieving my goals this year.
After that, I'll dive into what it means to set SMART goals. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Setting goals according to this framework will increase your chances of success.
Habakkuk 2:2 instructs us to "Write down the vision and make it plain on tablets, so that he may run who reads it." The practice of writing your vision and goals down is important, but it's not enough to merely write them down. You must keep them in front of you if you have any hopes of achieving them. Read them frequently. Meditate on the action steps necessary to reach them. Then you will make your path straight.

The Master Mind Principle, first described by Napoleon Hill in his book Think and Grow Rich, describes a principle Christians learned from Jesus over 2,000 years ago. Jesus said, "Wherever two or three are gathered together in My Name, there I am in the midst." Hill's notion that whenever two or more people gather together create a third mind that transcends time, space, and wisdom really describes the spiritual presence of Jesus and the Holy Spirit whenever believers assemble.

Last time, we began our study of Deuteronomy 28:15-68 by examining the six types of curses that exist in the world. These curses exist because of original sin; you don't have to do anything to be cursed except being born. This week, we'll pick up where we left off with the next three types of curses: natural disasters, desperation, and loss.
If you're anything like me, you may have started your business on-fire for God but then through operating your business, you've fallen away from including God in your business. If that's you, chances are the Five-Fold Attitudes of Business are out of balance in your life. Download a free copy of my Five-Fold Attitudes of Business. Print it out and post it around your home, in your car, and even at the office so you can stay aware of these attitudes so you can maintain them in your daily life.

Is your business cursed? Here's how to tell. The Bible is very clear about what happens when we position ourselves outside the covenant of God. In Deuteronomy 28:15-68 is a list of all the curses that befall a person who is not in a covenantal relationship with God. There are six categories of curses found in this passage of scripture, and in this episode we will discuss the first three categories of curses: oppression/slavery, illness, and failure.

The covenant of God promises great benefits to those who accept its terms. And because God is faithful, we can trust that He will uphold His end of the agreement 100% of the time. God promised these blessings to those who accept His covenant: positional blessings, blessings over your business affairs, blessings over your home life, blessings over your finances, and blessings over your children and legacy.

Jesus gave credit to John the Baptist's ministry. He confirmed that John was the fulfillment of Malachi's prophecy, and declared that the anointing of Elijah rested upon Him. By recognizing John's ministry, Jesus gave us a clear example that as leaders we must give credit where credit is due instead of hoarding all the praise for ourselves.

If you are not doing this, you are missing out on great returns for your business and ministry. After Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, He demonstrated outstanding leadership by doing this. What He did worked so well over 2,000 years ago that military organizations still use it today.

"Show, don't tell," and "Lead by example." These are simple leadership concepts, but they are easy to overlook. Resist the temptation to tell people what to do. Stop thinking that the best way to get things done is to do it yourself. What did Jesus do? The only command He gave His disciples when they first started following Him was, "Follow me." After that, He showed them what ministry is. He showed them how to follow Him. This episode is brought to you by the Wow Marriage Conference. After the Holy Ghost launched Jesus into ministry, and after Jesus had proven Himself through 40 days of fasting and temptation by the devil, the next thing Jesus did was He called His followers. In this episode, we'll talk about why that's important and why you can't rely on the Field of Dreams mentality of "if you build it, they will come" to build a profitable business. It is interesting that Jesus, who was God, needed to be led by the Holy Spirit, who is also God, in order to be launched into His ministry. If Jesus needed the leadership of the Holy Ghost, how much more do we, mere humans, need the leadership of the Holy Spirit in our lives? When faced with a problem, you have a choice. You can choose whether to focus on the problem or you can choose to focus on the solution. When we choose to focus on the problem, we magnify it. The problem becomes bigger in our sight, and then we become discouraged and perhaps we even think it is impossible to solve. But when we see the problem and then focus on the solution, we begin to see the possibilities of what could be. That’s the first step in solving the problem. As a recovering perfectionist, I know a thing or two about always trying to get everything "just" right. In this episode, I want to talk to you about letting go of perfectionism, and instead, exchanging perfection for excellence. Perfection is not the same thing is excellence. In 1 Timothy 4, the Apostle Paul exhorts Timothy to be an example in word, conduct, love, spirit, faith, and purity. Today, we are going to examine these six attributes of biblical leadership. When you are an example to others in these six things, you create a culture in your business that will flourish no matter the circumstances. But when you don't exemplify these things in your life, your employees and customers will know it. It's not enough to strap the label "Christian Business" on your business. You must walk out your faith by being a good example in these six things. Many times, we shy away from saying, "No," when we know we should. We often do this because we want to be seen as helpful, courteous, and reliable. We become so accustomed to saying, "Yes," that we lose the ability to say, "No." What's worse is that we become ashamed of saying, "No." But the truth is learning how and when to say "No," is just as valuable as knowing how and when to say "Yes." In this episode, we will talk about flexing the no muscle, and today's message comes with a challenge to start saying No.

We are in a spiritual war. The battle lines are drawn against angels and demons. The spirits of darkness want nothing more than to drive a wedge between your relationships. They won't stop until they have conquered your business, marriage, kids, and every area of your life. As spiritual leaders and business people, we must stand against these forces of darkness. We do that by donning the Armor of God. And this isn't merely a Sunday school lesson for children. Spiritual warfare is real, and if you don't take it seriously, you will lose. If you are ready to reclaim what the devil and his minions have stolen from you, this episode is for you. Get ready to fight back with the Spirit of God on your side. If God is for you, who can stand against you?

When people say negative things about you, it is usually an indication that they are experiencing pain somehow. How a person treats you has more to do with them than it does with you, so when you're faced with someone spreading rumors, gossip, slander, or complaints about you or your business, the best thing you can do is respond with love. It isn't always easy to do, and it certainly isn't the first instinct for many of us, but if you can train yourself to respond in love if you can learn to hug your haters, your life will be so much better.

Where do limiting beliefs come from? We suggest that they come from labels that others put upon us. What's worse is when we accept those labels as truth in our lives and start putting them on ourselves. In this episode, we discuss the limiting beliefs that held us back and how a relationship with Jesus is the only way to overcome limiting beliefs in your life.

We all face adversity. When we do, we have a choice. We can either submit to it, or we can overcome it. If we decide to overcome, we must accept that we have chosen to fight for what we want, for what God has called us to be. When we accept the responsibility of fighting and overcoming adversity, we empower ourselves to achieve the success that only comes by the grace of God.

What threatens your business? That is the focus of today's challenge episode. Be careful not to confuse weakness with a threat. A weakness is an internal problem or struggle that you have, while a threat is an external force that acts upon the business environment as a whole. It is Day 5 of the Discover Your Business Idea Challenge, and today we are exploring the topic of weaknesses. For today's challenge, we ask you to dig deep and be as honest as you can about answering this question: What are my biggest struggles? None of us are good at everything; we all have weaknesses. Having a weakness doesn't make you weak, it doesn't make you a failure, and it certainly doesn't make you inadequate. However, knowing your weaknesses allows you to plan around those weaknesses, so you can be successful in what really matters: your strengths.

In today's challenge episode, we are talking about mindset. Your mindset is all about how you perceive the world and how you perceive yourself in the world. How do you define success? Is having money equivalent to having success? Do you let your past failures define you? Zig Ziglar said, "Failure is an event. It's not a person." When we truly understand that, we can learn from our mistakes instead of becoming defined by them. For today's challenge, ask the tricky question: Why do you want to start a business? Examine your heart and check your motives. Are they coming from a place of purity and service towards others? Or is it clouded by judgment and hurt? After today, you must decide whether to continue with the Discover Your Business Challenge. If you find that your heart is in the right place, join us again tomorrow for more of the Discover Your Business Idea Challenge.

It is Day Two of the Discover Your Business Idea Challenge. In today's show, we are talking about identity. When you know who you are, you'll know your purpose. But if you don't know who you are, you will never discover your true purpose for being here. Take time today to pray and ask God, "Who am I to you? Why am I here?" Meditate on these questions and allow the Holy Ghost to deposit the answers into your spirit.

A comfort zone is a place where we feel safe, secure, and confident. If you stay there too long, you will become complacent. That's a dangerous place to be because it means that you will stop growing. And when you stop growing, you start dying. Why do Christian businesses fail? Not all Christian companies fail, but many do. And if we serve a God who gives us the power to get wealth, a God who blesses His people with wealth and adds no sorrow with it, then why do they fail? In this episode, we will explore the Five-Fold Attitudes for Business. If any of these attitudes are wrong, then your business will surely suffer.

Today, we are talking about how you can overcome your fears in business. We talk about our fears and how we overcame them while providing a seven-step checklist that will help you overcome your fears. When God called Moses, Moses gave numerous excuses about why he couldn’t do what God asked him to do. But every time Moses gave God a reason, God gave him a solution. Joshua was a brave military commander. He was known for being among the ten spies Moses sent to spy out the promised land. Out of ten spies, he was among two who gave a favorable report. He was brave as a military leader and a soldier, but when God appointed him to take over for Moses, God felt it was necessary to reassure him to be “strong and courageous.” The fear of failure is one of the most significant setbacks of an entrepreneur, but it is also one of the basic requirements of being an entrepreneur.
Fear does one of three things. It will either drive you to fight, flee, or freeze. How did the fear of failure influence me to close my first business? Having a mentor is critical for success. A mentor can serve as a sounding board for ideas and provide feedback and insight into the next. How do you frame success or failure?
On the one hand, what appears to be an utter failure could be a great success, depending on your perspective. We explore how to understand the fear and the antidote to fear from the Lord’s language. General George S. Patton once said, “Courage is not vacant of fear. It is facing the issue in the midst of fear.”
Seven Steps to Overcoming Fear
Acknowledge the Fear
Determine if the Threat is Real
Focus on What You Can Control
Cast Your Cares Upon the Lord
Trust God to See You Through
Do Your Homework
Do It Scared

Welcome to the Marketplace Ministry Podcast. We designed this show for small, local business owners with up to 20 employees. In this episode, we introduce ourselves by sharing the stories of our business experiences. We have experience ranging from starting a business to transitioning out of business and becoming an entrepreneur again in response to COVID-19. We exist to bring encouragement to entrepreneurs who have companies that the pandemic has ravaged. We want to help you get over the pandemic and get back on the winning track. But that means you’re going to have to get comfortable being uncomfortable. What are the challenges of being the chief everything officer of your own business? We all start from a place of inexperience. We must trust God to help us in our business. We discuss why receiving correction is an integral part of the process, even though it can be uncomfortable. There’s no shame in getting a job if you’ve run a business as an entrepreneur and your business failed. The skills you’ve learned as an entrepreneur are an asset in the marketplace. Are you focused on the natural stimuli all around you, or are you focused on Jesus? Do you draw strength and courage from your past victories? How getting cold feet is like starting a business or starting a podcast.
