We didn't have time for a traditional book club, so we started our own! We are a mother daughter team who talk about books from all angles and enjoy boozy drinks related to the book as we talk! Join us as we conclude the summer read The Five-Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand. This book wraps up nicely and makes us want to go to the beach with friends! This was a great book to end the summer on! Also, remember one of our favorite quotes from the book "the thing I love best about reading fiction is that it gives you a way to connect the experiences of your own life to the larger world." Five Star Cocktail Recipe:
- 1/2 oz 151-proof rum
- 1/2 oz peppermint liqueur
- 1/2 oz tequila
- 1/2 oz cinnamon schnapps
- 1/2 oz of jagermeister
Just put all of them in a shot glass and put it down!

Rock Candy Cocktail Recipe:
- Pop Rocks, for garnish
- Ice
- 2 oz vodka
- 5 oz soda water
- 1 stick of rock candy
Brush the rim of your glass with simple syrup. Place pop rocks on a small plate. Rotate the glass upside-down on a plate to coat rims in pop rocks. Fill the glass with ice and pour in the vodka. Fill the rest of the way with soda water. Add in a stick of rock candy and serve!

Beetlejuice Cocktail Recipe:
- 1 oz vodka
- 1/2 oz melon liqueur
- 1/2 oz raspberry liqueur
- 1/2 oz blue curacao
- 2 oz sweet and sour mix
- 1 1/2 oz cranberry juice
- Ice
Fill a double old-fashioned glass with ice. Add vodka, melon liqueur, raspberry liqueur, blue curacao, and sweet and sour mix. Then pour the cranberry juice on top of the drink. You can let the juice float or stir it in for a creepy color change!

- 1 shot of Vodka
- 2 shot of Lemon Juice

Mix all ingredients together!

Gin Daisy Cocktail Recipe:
- 2 oz dry gin
- 3/4 oz orange liqueur
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
- 2 tsp grenadine
- Splash of soda water
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine gin, orange liqueur, lemon juice, and Grenadine. Shake and then add to glass with ice and add a splash of soda water.

Stumbling Scientist Cocktail Recipe:
- 1 oz vodka
- 1/4 oz flavored liquor
- 1/4 oz lemon-lime soda
Put the vodka and flavored liquor into a cocktail shaker with ice, then shake for 10 seconds or until cold. Pour into shot glasses, then top with lemon-lime soda. serve right away!

This book provided characters we fell in love with, relationships with love and hated, and there was also a murder. What more could you ask for? WhoDunnit Cocktail Recipe:
- 1.5 oz Cointreau
- 2 oz Blood Orange Soda
- 0.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 2 oz Tonic Water
Mix everything together and stir!

Irish Maid Cocktail Recipe:
- 2 slices of cucumber
- 2 oz Irish Whiskey
- 1/2 oz St. Germain
- 3/4 oz Simple Syrup
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
Muddle the cucumber slices in a shaker. Add ice and remaining ingredients to the shaker , shake vigorously to combine well. Strain into a cocktail glass over ice. Garnish with cucumber slices.

- 6 cl Scotch
- 2 tsp Blue Curacao
- 2 tsp Amaretto
- 1.5 cl Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp Sugar

- 4 oz Banana Liqueur
- 2 oz Coconut Vodka
- 12 oz Coke
Pour a can's worth of Coca-Cola into a highball glass. Add banana liqueur, then coconut vodka, then it on like Donkey Kong!

You know the ending to the book is something to talk about when you get a text that says "I JUST FINISHED THE BOOK I CANNOT TALK TO YOU". And that could not be more true about the last half of The Guest List by Lucy Foley! We hope you join us as we open a book, open a bottle, and open our minds.
The Perfect Storm Cocktail:
- 2 oz spiced rum
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 2 dashes of bitters
- Ginger beer, chilled, to top
- Garnish: lime wedge
Add the spiced rum, lime juice, and bitters to a highball or rocks glass filled with ice. Top with ginger beer and stir briefly and gently to combine. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Elephant Ears Cocktail Recipe:
- 1/2 oz Gin
- 1/2 oz French Dry Vermouth
- 1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth
Stir with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Add an orange twist.

Journalist Cocktail Recipe:
- 2 oz Gin
- 1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth
- 1/2 oz Dry Vermouth
- 1/4 oz Orange Curacao
- 1/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- Garnish: Lemon Twist
Add all ingredients to your shaking tin. Add ice and shake until frosty cold. Strain into a pre-chilled cocktail glass. Express twist if using and discard. Drink!

Truth Serum Cocktail Recipe:
- 1/2 oz Vodka
- 1/2 oz Rum, light
- 1/2 oz Liqueur, raspberry
- 1/2 oz Curacao, blue
- 2 oz Pineapple Juice
Add ice to the glass. Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Add ice to a shaker and shake well until chilled. Strain into glass. ENJOY!

Zombie Sleepwalker Cocktail Recipe:
- 1 oz Dark Rum
- 1 oz Light Rum
- 1 oz Jamaican Rum
- 4 Dashes Cherry Brandy
- 4 Dashes of Papaya Juice
- 1/2 oz Lime Juice
- 1/2 oz 150-Proof Rum
Pour all rums, brandies, papaya, and lime juices into a glass with cracked ice. Top with 150 Proof Rum. Stir. Garnish with a cherry and orange slice. Serve with a long straw

- 1/2 oz sweet and sour mix
- 1/2 oz orange juice
- 1/2 oz midori melon liqueur
- 1/2 oz blue curacao liqueur

Octopus Cocktail Recipe:
- 1 shot light rum
- 1 shot orange juice
- 1 shot passion fruit nectar
- bitters
- soda water
Pour all the ingredients, besides the soda in a glass. Fill with finely crushed ice. Top with soda and stir.

Tropical Mermaid Cocktail Recipe:
- 4 oz coconut rum
- 2 oz banana rum
- 1 oz blue curacao
- 8 oz pineapple juice
- 1/2 oz lime juice
To a pitcher, add coconut rum and banana rum, pineapple juice, and lime juice. Stir to combine. Top with blue curacao and stir lightly. Serve over ice and a few lime slices.

- ice
- 2 oz silver tequila
- 1/2 to 1 whole lime juiced
- Topo Chico Sparkling Mineral Water
Fill a glass about halfway with ice and add up to 2 ozs of tequila. Squeeze in the lime juice and then top it off with Topo Chico. Stir with a long spoon and garnish with fresh lime slices.

Peanut Butter Old-Fashioned Cocktail Recipe:
- 2 oz peanut butter whisky
- 3-4 dashes of bitters
- 1 large cube
- Orange twist (optional)
- Cocktail cherry (optional)
Pour peanut butter whisky into a rocks glass and add bitters. Place a large ice cube in the glass. Stir until chilled and the ice starts to melt. If desired, garnish with an orange twist and cherry. Enjoy!

Forbidden Apple Cocktail Recipe:
- 1 oz Apple Brandy
- 1/2 oz Orange Liqueur
- 3 dashes of bitters
- Champagne
Mix the apple brandy, orange liqueur, and bitters in a champagne flute. Top with champagne.
OR Ambrosia Cocktail Recipe:
- 1/4 cup coconut rum
- 2 Tbsp orange juice
- 2 Tbsp pineapple juice
- Splash of grenadine
- Garnishes: marshmallows, coconut flakes, and cherries
Fill an 8 oz glass with ice. Stir in rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, and grenadine. Garnish, if desired.

The Scream Cocktail Recipe:
- 2 oz dry vermouth
- 1 oz of grenadine syrup
- 1 green olive
- 4 oz white rum
- 1 dash of bitters
Mix the rum, grenadine, vermouth, and bitters. Shake with ice. Add the olive.

The Good Life Cocktail Recipe:
- 2 shots of Vodka
- 1 shot of Chambord Raspberry Liqueur
- 5 shots of orange soda
Throw it all in a glass and enjoy!
There is drama in both paths Hannah takes in Maybe in Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid! This episode certainly gives us a lot to think about and so many questions! But we think we nailed the cocktail this time!
Girl's Best Friend Cocktail:
- 16oz pomegranate juice
- 16oz sparkling water
- 2 tsp granulated sugar
- 1.5 oz vanilla vodka
- sanding sugar for glass rim
Combine all ingredients and stir until fully combined. Pour over ice. If you want to rim the class take a lemon or a bit of water and run it along the rim of your glass and rub in sugar to coat.

Cinnamon Roll Cocktail:
- 3 shots of RumChata
- 1 Shot of Kahlua
Fill a shaker with ice. Pour RumChata and Kahlua in shaker and shake to combine. Pour over ice.

This ending is one of those endings where there is not enough time to talk about everything. Author Liane Moriarty wrapped up this book so well it left mom and Mant wanting sequels. Mom and Mant brainstormed some sequels to the book if Liane Moriarty wants to take their ideas.
Spiked Double Apple Spritzer (Elphaba's aka Savannah's Revenge):
- ice
- 2/3 c. apple juice
- 1/3 c. Alize Apple or vodka
- 1/3 to 2/3 c. seltzer water
Place ice in a glass. Pour in apple juice, then Alize Apple or vodka and then seltzer. Stir gently!
This is a page turner! That is honestly all we got to say as we continue reading the book Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty. What is your prediction about this book? Because Mom and Mant are stumped!

Tennis Elbow Cocktail Recipe:
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 3/8 cup apricot nectar
- 1/4 cup grapefruit juice
- 1/6 cup of gin
- 1/8 cup of tonic water
Stir the juices together! Add gin and tonic water to fruit juices and stir. Pour over ice.

All the secrets of Under the Southern Sky by Kristy Woodson Harvey came to light in the best way. We talk about how these secrets were needed and came to light in the perfect time in the story. We truly loved this book and the feelings it made us feel.
Carolina Sweet Tart Cocktail Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 oz vodka
- 1/4 oz whiskey
- 1/2 oz triple sec
- 1 1/2 oz orange juice
- 6 oz Sprite
- Splash of cranberry juice
- Splash of lemon juice
- Strawberry and mint for garnish
Instructions:
Mix everything but the Sprite into your cocktail mixer filled with ice and shake. Pour into glass with ice and add Sprite. Enjoy!

French 75 Cocktail Recipe:
- 2 oz gin
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
- 3/4 oz simple syrup
- champagne
Combine gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice! Strain into champagne flute and top with sparkling wine!
Join as we sip champagne or sparkling wine and talk about our new favorite historical fiction "The Winemaker's Wife" by Kristin Harmel. We talk about the characters and how the story is unraveling!
Join us by starting the new year with a genre we are trying to explore, historical fiction. As we dive into World War II, we learn to love characters, hate characters, and get the inside scoop of when Germany came into Paris. Dry Martini Recipe:
- 2 1/2 oz dry gin
- 1/2 oz dry vermouth
- green olives for garnish

- ginger brew or soda water

- 1½ oz Absolut Wild Tea
- ½ oz Simple Syrup
- ¾ oz Lime Juice

Muddle blackberries in a shaker. Add Absolut Wild tea, simple syrup and lime juice. Fill with ice cubes. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a blackberry.

Combine ingredients in a shaker tin and medium shake it. Add tonic into tin and double strain over fresh ice into a double rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Swamp (Marsh) Water Cocktail Recipe:
For the Optional "Plasma":
- 1 (3-ounce) box flavored gelatin
- 1 cup water, boiling
- 3/4 cup vodka
For the Cocktail:
- 2 ounces rum
- 1/4 ounce orange or blue curaçao liqueur
- 1 ounce orange juice
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons gelatin "plasma," optional
Instructions
Make the "Plasma" 1. Gather the ingredients. 2. In a mixing bowl, dissolve the gelatin in boiling water. 3. Stir in the vodka and set the bowl in the freezer. 4. Just before the gelatin sets up completely, whip it with a whisk to form lumps. 5. Let it set for at least 5 minutes.
Make the Swamp Water Surprise 1. Gather the ingredients. 2. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour the rum, curaçao, and lemon and orange juices. 3. Shake well. 4. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 5. If using, carefully spoon the plasma into the glass.

Shake the vodka, Kahlua, and half and half in a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Strain the contents of the shaker into an ice-filled old-fashioned glass, and serve.
