We've all heard of those places where it's so safe you don't need to worry about your kids playing out at night. One of those rural towns where crimes are unheard of. That was Chowchilla. But not anymore, as 26 children and a bus driver were kidnapped in broad daylight and buried alive. This would be known as the largest kidnapping in US history till this day.

Jared Bridegan drove back home with his two year old daughter on a regular Wednesday night. Blocking the road, was a tire so he stopped the car to get out and move it. Little did he know that this would be his last few moments before he was shot and killed on the spot. The worse thing is, his two year old daughter witnessed it all.
