Hello Beautiful!

Happy new year <3

I know it's been a hot minute since the last time I released an episode; life was very heavy in 2025 and I spent a lot of time taking care of my mental health and going to therapy.

There have been so many things I wanted to share with you, and I figured starting with our most recent trip to Saint Lucia for the holidays would be a fun place to start.

I hope you find this episode helpful, and I can't wait to hear what you think!

They're telling you your arms are the problem. I'm telling you...

YOUR ARMS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM!

What do YOU want to think? What are you WILLING to think? What do you NEED to think?

It feels like I need to yell from the roof tops right now with everything I've seen online lately that YOUR ARMS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM. Typically, I don't see diety/toxic content on social media, but two body positive content creators I follow both posted about the same IMO unhelpful workout program.

So, today we're hopping on facetime and discussing WHY your arms are not the problem, with tips and challenges you can implement to begin seeing your arms as your friend.

For so many years I was solely focused on taking care of my weight loss instead of myself. And that makes the years I spent sick make a shit ton of sense. Today I discuss ways in which you may be taking care of your weight loss instead of yourself, where those beliefs could stem from, and what taking care of you may look like.

I hope this episode is helpful!

With more holidays approaching, I wanted to share with you 8 things you can start/stop in order to be an even better host! Obivously, you don't need to do any of them, but I believe they are all low energy/low stake actions that you can take that would provide extra energy/appreciation from your guests!

Can't wait to hear what you think of today's episode and what actions you will take before hosting your friends/family this year. And if you're not hosting... feel free to share this episode to your stories in an indirect way of encouraging those who are hosting you to maybe make some simple changes.

This is not medical advice

At the beginning of this month I went to an allergist and denied being weighed. The allergist was fine with it... However, after I shared a reel on Instagram describing my experience, there were a lot of random men who were pissed.

That reel has since been taken down because Instagram continued to push it (300,000 views) to men who were making nasty comments, not just to myself but also to others who had left positive comments. I did share their Instagram handles in the episode because I thought it lightened the episode and was a friendly reminder that these strangers should not get to dictate how we feel about our bodies. But I chose the comments that were less mean and more so just uneducated/diet culturey and that we could have had a conversation about, IF they had been civil in the comment section.

With that, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on today's episode! Have you ever wanted to or have denied being weighed at an appointment? Your body is not the problem!

I had the realization over the summer that for most of my life I have been a 'Be safe' person. Which like, there's nothing technically wrong with it but I experienced the difference of being told 'be safe' and 'have fun' about the same activitity and I was like holy shit do the two of those feel different. And I would love to implement saying 'have fun' more than I say 'be safe' to others and to myself.

As I continued thinking about the two statements I realized how it can be applied to our body image, and so that's what I share with you today!

Can't wait to hear what you think :)

Are you falling into the Menstrual Cycle Box?

You might be if you get mad at your body for not having energy when you're ovulating and or using your luteal phase as an 'excuse' for being grumpy etc.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's VITAL to understand your cycle and to use it as a tool to listen to your body and decipher it's messages and I think that sometimes we get stuck in this box that leaves us feeling more frustrated or mad at our bodies than is warranted!

Graeme and I were shopping for a tshirt a few weeks ago and I went in wearing a shirt that was an XL and tried on a shirt that was XXS. AND EVEN IF OUR BODY DID CHANGE, YOUR BODY IS STILL NOT THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!

Children can start being aware of their body as young as three years old. Most of us can remember comparing our bodies and feeling insecure as young as ten years old. Body Happy Organization works to help children and young people celebrate, respect and accept all bodies - especially their own. Molly and her team work to stop poor body image from ever starting in the first place!

This episode is for anyone and everyone who has younger humans in their life. We all play a role (alongside society, social media, tv, etc.) in the body image of those around us. Molly shares realistic and doable mindset shifts and actions we can take as the adult to support the younger humans around us.

Today we chat about:

  • What a parent should do if their child comes to them saying that they want to be healthy or go on a diet
  • How social media imacts the body image of younger humans
  • How to approach family members who make comments on your childrens body (even if they're positive/well-intentioned)
  • How to know what is the right amount of exercise and how to help them fuel without it being diety

And so much more!

Molly has released two amazing books!

When will you realize that your body is on your team?!

What would it take for you to no longer see your body as the problem?

This is the question I ask in today's episode and would love to hear your answers!

I cover it more in depth in this episode! My goal isn't to convince you to do one or the other but just sharing what has been working for me lately. I can't wait to hear what you think after you listen!

Time to spring clean your... MIND!

Step #1: Write out a list of ALL of the things you are currently thinking about yourself and your body! Negative, mean, critical, neutral, random, list it all!

Step #2: Write out a list of ALL of the things you would LOVE to think and feel about yourself and body this year!

Step #3: Start disproving the first list and think of what new (maybe neutral) thoughts would help you reach the 2nd list you made of what you do want to think and feel about your body this year.

Remember, your body is NOT the problem and you do not need to change your body FIRST in order to think new thoughts and feel how you want to feel about your body.

Instead, change you how you think and feel about your body FIRST and see just how many parts of your life can transform this year!

I was on a weight loss journey from 2016 all the way until late 2020 that was soley focused on my weight. I had been mislead to believe that no matter what I would be healthier if I lost weight but that was definitely not the case for me ESPECIALLY because I went about the weight loss in such an unhealthy way but the tricky part was that it was hard to see my actions as unhealthy thanks to diet culture and the fitness industry. My weight loss was celebrated SO much and no one knew the things I was doing that are so common in our society nowadays that CAN be detrimental to our health.

I wanted to create this episode not to scare you away from diets but to give you a more FULLER picture. I created today's episode because I was under the impression for a long time that good for weight loss meant good for you but have since learned that things that are good for weight loss aren't always good for you and that you can choose the things that ARE good for you and they can be good for weight loss.

Of course, I no longer recommend weighing yourself, setting a goal weight or making weight loss your main goal BUT if you are doing it for YOU, have healed your body image (know weight loss doesn't make you more worthy or beautiful etc) and want to go about it in a healthy, sustainable and fun way then this episode is for you! And this episode will also support you if you just want to be healthier and feel your best physically AND mentally!

In a world where everyone is trying to tell you what to eat/ what not to eat, what's healthy/ what's unhealthy and what's good/ and what's bad, it can be difficult to know what the heck you should actually be eating!

This method isn't telling you what to eat or how much to eat but it's a way to determine whether or not you want to eat something and it's based off of two factors that I share in today's episode.

I hope this helps you feel your best and make more informed decisions for your body so that you two can be the best team together!

Have you ever been worried about your partner noticing that you've gained weight? Has gaining weight in your relationship made you feel less beautiful, worthy and enough? Has gaining weight made you feel more insecure in your relationship?

People are always talking about Freshman 15 and now I feel like many talk about Relationship 15.

Well, for Graeme and I, we had relationship 80. We started dating when we were 15 and between 17 and 19 I gained 80lbs due to numerous reasons but seeing as I already had poor body image, my body image only got worse. I struggled with seeing myself as more than just a body and at my heaviest I truly believed I had a bad body because of society. I ended up losing a lot of weight between 2016 & 2017 but because I had poor body image and didn't understand anything really about health, I lost a lot of weight in an unhealthy way and remained unhealthy AND as Graeme mentions, losing weight actually made me objectify myself MORE!

So today, we wanted to have a conversation and share some of the things we learned and would do differently after experiencing significant weight gain during our relationship.

We talk about comments Graeme made about my body that didn't help and whether or not he could have done things differently. We discuss how to bring up health to your partner who may be feeling like they just need to lose weight to feel more beautiful and SO MUCH MORE!

I can't wait to hear your thoughts after listening to this discussion. Don't forget to screenshot the episode and tag me on IG @_leahtang with your thoughts!

Hello December 26th... what can often feel like the most diety time of the year!

Today I walk you through an exercise that is aimed at helping you to not feel intruiged by all of the diet talk and quick fixes you may be hearing about and seeing on social media as the new year quickly approaches.

I've been able to get my mindset to a place where when someone says "I need to work off this food tomorrow" that my brain no longer thinks that sounds like a great idea and that's exactly what I'm going to help you with in this episode!

I feel as though we're only subjected to the 'shiny' 'this is good for you' side of fad diets and quick fixes and very often are missing the whole picture and hence we can't actually make a proper informed decision for what is best for us and our body!

So my goal isn't to say these things are "BAD" but if you want to start off the new year on your own terms and from a healthier mindset then this episode is for YOU!

I can't wait to hear what you think of it and how the exercise goes for you!

I put up a poll on my Instagram that had 5 options to choose from. 12 people voted that they have gained weight, 10 people aren’t fully sure but think they’ve gained weight. 2 people voted that they know they haven’t gained weight, 5 don’t know for sure but don’t think they gained weight and 4 don’t weigh themselves and don’t care!

For me personally, I have not weighed myself once since July 2021! I have noticed that I think I have gained weight but I’m able to be very neutral towards it and don’t see it in a negative light at all because I’m focused on how I feel and how I feel mentally and physically is SO good!
