Paige was twenty-three and not in a serious relationship when she learned that she was pregnant. She longed to create a family and was determined not to be a single mom. In the process, she lost herself trying to make something work that simply wasn’t meant to be.

If you aren’t currently planning, honoring, and committing to your time, you need to listen in this week.

Paige talks through her 1% shifts and how she came out better and stronger after navigating her unplanned pregnancy. We all have 24 hours each day, 24 of the most precious, irreplaceable diamonds. So what are you going to do with yours?

If you’re overwhelmed, embarrassed, and confused about navigating your own unplanned situation, then this conversation is one you won’t want to miss. Paige talks about her shame, anxiety, and depression as she was forced to embrace single parenthood.

She comes from a large Catholic family of nine children – and wasn’t married when she was found out she was pregnant.

So the secrecy and confusion about her pregnancy left her feeling alone. In fact, she didn’t even tell everyone that she was pregnant until she was about six months along.

As you listen to her, you feel the emotions, her determination, and resilience of how she mastered her mindset. She shed the dream of being a family and embarking on one of the most powerful healing journeys of self-care.

Like all of our guests, Paige shares from a place of truth. We hope her story inspires you to rise up and take care of yourself.

This year my word of the year was victory!  Now, nearly twelve months ago, when God laid that word on my heart, I had thoughts of how 2022 would work out, but let me tell you something... 2022 has been the most unplanned year of my life!   I know it will all work out because God has my story.  This is why I'm so excited to share the latest podcast episode with you.  I sat down with podcast host Keana Mitchell of Finding God.  First, I was a guest on her show, and then once we were done recording - I said you need to come on the Unplanned Mom School podcast!   And so she did. Keana W. Mitchell is a relationship Coach and podcaster who helps women work on their self-esteem and overcome their limiting beliefs so that they can have the relationships that they desire. In addition to being a relationship coach and podcaster, Keana is also a singer, and songwriter, who has a Masters’ degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Rehabilitation. For the past 10 years Keana has worked as a job coach and rehabilitation counselor for the state of AL. I love listening to her podcast because we all have stories about how we found God and what God tells us.  His relationship is different from each other by design.  We are all uniquely made. So what better time than to release this episode as Christmas approaches? If you are looking for some ideas on how you can find God or dust off old thoughts and find out just how much you are loved and cherished by our creator, then I invite you to take a listen.

Do you struggle with feeling like you aren’t where you want to be in your life? I think we can all get stuck in this trap of beating ourselves up that we aren’t where we want to be. On this week's episode of the #UnplannedMomSchoolPodcast, I am talking about where we are today at this moment. And let’s be honest - the world is heavy and hard at this moment in time.

This episode was inspired after learning about the passing of someone overnight. Death has a way of literally stopping us in our tracks and evaluating our own life and purpose. We can either let the hard stuff derail or determine us to live our best life. The first thing we must do is allow ourselves to feel the pain and sorrow. We aren’t guaranteed to get through life without a few battle scars.

So this episode is about how to turn to encouragement from our higher power and trust the process. No matter where we are in this journey called life - we are right where we need to be.

Do you feel…

  • an overwhelming sense of release?
  • are you afraid to even allow yourself to think about what is no longer serving you?
  • are you feeling off in some area of your life yet afraid to say goodbye to that aspect of your life out of fear?

In this episode, we take a deep breath and learn to understand that this, too, shall pass. Love yourself right where you are at this moment.

Personally, I talk about this season of sadness that I am personally feeling.

Everything you want starts with this first powerful step of awareness - the good, the bad, and the ugly. Accepting how you feel now and taking action toward change is the key to growth.

If you are ready to feel less alone, accept your feelings and hear encouragement in your life to help you release what is no longer serving you. Then I want you to check out this transformative episode.

We're 'Flipping the Script' here on the #UnplannedMomSchoolPodcast, so that means YOU get to hear the tables turned on ME.

This week, here’s my interview by Amy Sanders on her fantastic podcast ‘THRIVE Her’. (Be sure to subscribe here.) Amy and I openly talk about our healing and personal motherhood journeys.

A few years ago, Amy was a broke single mom healing from an unhealthy marriage. She knew that she was meant for more, but she was stuck in a self-sabotaging cycle. She made the decision to pick herself up, did the work, took back her power, and created a dream life in just a few years. Since then she's made it her mission to help other women do the same.

Everything you want starts with this first powerful step towards change. If you are ready to feel better, achieve your goals, and up-level your life then you want to check out this amazing conversation!

Newsflash: Motherhood is not measurable, nor is it an end destination

Let’s face it -- we live in a culture that is obsessed with success. Now, that’s not necessarily a bad thing because as badass women, the desire to be successful is what drives us to learn, to take risks, and grow, right?

But when we define success solely by how many hours we put into work, how much we sacrifice ourselves to keep other people happy, or how the ‘shoulds’ mount up and leave us feeling depleted, then “success” is impossible to achieve because we are culturally programmed to want more, and more, and more.

There’s a quote I love from this week's guest, Elisa Fucci, life coach “I love myself, and it’s the most loving thing you can do for yourself and others. You show up differently. You show up as a better wife and mother. When you show up as yourself, you are happier.” And that couldn’t be more true.

That’s why it is incredibly important to define your core values, trust God for your life, and know that the healing work you do now will affect generations to come -- and when you do, you’ll be so much more fulfilled as a mother and as a human being.

I get it -- it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of everyday life. But I’m here to tell you, sweet friend, that success in motherhood is not measurable, nor is it an end destination. I can guarantee that when you define success according to your values, you will find more joy in life than you ever could have imagined -- I know I have!

In this episode, you meet Elisa, that got pregnant when she was a teenager and trusted God that adoption was the right plan for her and her baby. She shares her beautiful journey of defining her values, getting out of suffering, and helping other women do the exact same thing. I promise, after listening to this episode, you will feel -- and truly believe -- that you are incredibly blessed and capable of doing anything that you want to do in your life.

You are a beautiful soul. And one beautiful soul to another - I can't wait to introduce you to positive psychologist Clare Deacon.

I want to kick things off by saying that sometimes life can be hard, and it's okay to admit that. No matter how big or small you perceive what's happening - it's your story, your feelings, and there is no right or wrong answer.

Clare has experienced extreme tragedy and shared with her three children that their daddy died overnight. Her last memory is of him tucking their children into bed that night, and just a few weeks prior, they had been together as a family in Disney World. Don't just take it from me that this woman has turned her tragedy into her purpose. Here are a few things we learned from our discussion with Clare…

Remember when you've overcome adversity in your life and what lessons you learned.

You don't need to give up - you need to give in and feel your feelings.

Everyone around you is fighting their own battles. Be kind to them.

No matter the tragedy, you can always thrive.

Ye’s recent controversial White People Matter shirt has inspired me to share more openly and share to help you get clear on what you want in this lifetime.

Getting clear on what you want and what God wants for you sounds like it would be easy, but in reality, it can be pretty tough – especially if you’re spinning your wheels on this hampster wheel - called life!

I get it. The world tells us one thing, but our internal guidepost tells us another.

But let me tell you, sweet friend -- giving your time and energy to things that do not serve you is a one-way ticket to some serious overwhelm, disappointment and frustration.

That’s why it’s so important to get crystal clear, release negative energy, and focus on your relationship with your higher power. Stop spinning your wheels on things that don’t bring value to your life.

In this episode, I unpack Ye's recent controversial White Lives Matter shirt and his recent interview with Tucker Carlson.

Chances are pretty great that you are feeling the push-pull between good versus evil. Be sure to tune in!

Waiting can make us all impatient. Over time, this gets easier with each passing season.

I'm an open book about sharing my struggles with faith, overcoming trauma, and moving into the uncomfortable while building a program to help other women do the same.

This is the stuff I WISH someone would’ve shared with me when I was going through rough seasons in my life.

There are a lot of mistakes that I’ve made that I’m grateful for. Mistakes that helped me learn pivotal lessons that I wouldn’t trade for the world. But lately, I’ve been reflecting on what to do when we don’t feel like God is there. The world is heavy, but God is here more than ever, and my goal is to help you know that as well.

Wanna know the top 3 things we discuss in this episode?

I’m digging into the details on this week’s podcast episode… here are the highlights:

  • God has planned a good promise for you (It’s easy to forget when life gets heavy and hard)
  • He is waiting on you to trust and believe Him to do what He has promised
  • Don’t let the current discouragement of whatever life event you are dealing with now rob you of the amazing future that is yours and yours only.

I only wish someone would have told me these things 10 years ago to keep my energy up.

If you’re a human on planet Earth, then there have probably been a million times that you have said, “If only I knew then what I know now, I would have ____________.”

Yes, sweet friend. Hindsight is 20/20, and it’s always so much easier to analyze and evaluate situations when you’re looking back on them in the past, than when you’re in the present moment.

The enemy loves to rob your energy, make you doubt yourself, and knock you down.

Let’s be real – we need to learn how to knock the enemy out so that we can move forward with clarity and purpose.  We aren't meant to be surrounded by negativity.

In this episode, I’m sharing what I wish I would have known early on -- things that would have given me a ton of momentum in my life and stopped the perpetual anxiety and self-doubt to keep me stuck.

I’m also going to share a couple of things I did do that really moved the needle. Things that I hope you consider doing, too.

As you know, it’s my goal to share my own experiences with you -- both good and bad -- so you can learn from them and create the life of your dreams.

So if you’re ready, pop in those earbuds and tune in!

Life happens, and unplanned moments happen every single day. In this week’s episode, I share thoughts on adaptive decision-making while I walk with my youngest daughter.

As a mom, you know how many tough daily decisions you face every day. It can be exhausting, confusing, and stressful -- especially when things don’t go your way.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again -- the ability to make quick and confident decisions is key in life. It’s certainly not easy, but it’s a very important skill to master if you want to live up to your potential and live a purposeful life.

Luckily, there are a million different ways we can make excuses not to follow through on our intentions. In this episode, I remind you that you can become the master of yourself. You can pick up right where you are today to make the changes you want to complete in your life.

Don’t believe me? Listen to the episode to find out about my crazy week. How I adapted and kept reminding myself along with you that we can do this crazy thing called life...Life Unplanned Together.

So if you’re on the fence about listening to this episode, trust your gut and give it a go -- I promise, if you struggle with setbacks and completing goals, you’ll thank me later.

There’s a reason it’s said that investing in yourself is the best investment you can make

Newsflash: Our bumps in the road aren’t permanent roadblocks. We talk about our money mindset and how we need to expand our thinking to open ourselves up for abundance.

You’re probably thinking, “Well, duh, Ashley -- that’s obvious.” And I agree, it is. But the thing is, all-too-many women completely neglect their own growth and development when things start to get stressful in our lives.

It’s super easy to do, and believe me, I can relate. You’re so focused and invested in making your life run smoother, that you forget about the person behind the scenes, in the trenches, doing all the hard work: Yourself.

You, my friend, are the force behind your life, and your actions will open you up to blessings you never thought were possible.

Believe me, after listening to this episode, you’ll understand why it’s said that the best is yet to come, and when you fully immerse yourself in what God has in store for you no matter what is going on in your life - the sooner you’ll be blessed!

As an unplanned mom, I’m sure you’ve gotten advice about how to run your life from just about everybody -- your family, your friends, your next-door neighbor, perhaps even the random barista at Starbucks that you strike up a conversation with.

Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad. And sometimes, you get a piece of advice that’s so significant that it sticks with you for years and years. It pushes you to become a better version of yourself, gives you perspective, and calms your mind.

I share past mistakes that have been on a replay loop on my mind, costing me precious time in anxiety instead of living life fully and with joy.

I talk through the importance of accepting our mistakes so that you can live in the moment. Be the miracle that God intended you to be and move on. Yes, in just twenty minutes -- I’m going to share how in this episode.

And what’s great about this advice is that it doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t care who you are or what’s happened in your past -- it’s universal. And while it can apply to anyone in any situation, I’ve found it to be particularly helpful in navigating the unique challenges that come along with being an unplanned mom.

It’s my hope that these pieces of advice help you as much as they’ve helped me.

Enjoy!

Two KEY things I’ve learned that will save you unnecessary anxiety and fears of losing yourself and lots of stress so you can start actually making progress on achieving your goals whether or not you are pregnant.

If you have recently decided to take action and stop the start-and-stop dance of making lasting changes in your life, then this episode is for you.

Yes, you, friend! The brave Mom with the beautiful vision, the passionate achiever who believes in their life and family with every ounce of their soul, and the one who’s willing to put in the hard work while also saving that sweet, sweet space for what really matters in life.

But let’s be real… motherhood is really hard, especially when it comes at you as a surprise. It’s totally normal to feel uncertain about yourself, or like you’re way in over your head, or that you keep spinning your wheels and just can’t get out of that cycle.

I’m here to tell you that those feelings are 100% a part of being a mom. Believe me, I’ve been there, and after 15 years of figuring it all out (with many mistakes along the way), I’ve had some time to look back and reflect on what it is that I would do differently if I had to start over from scratch.

In no way am I saying that I would take back the mistakes that I’ve made -- because I’ve learned so much from each and every one of them. But I am hoping that there will be something on this episode that will save you unnecessary stress from the get-go.

Grab a pen and paper (or your downloadable Gratitude sheet) and settle in to hear the top two things that I would start doing if I were looking to make some serious headway on my life goals.
