Finding Bigfoot: What Bigfoot Eats-Sasquatch and Herring
If you want increase your chances of finding Bigfoot, a good place to start is thinking about what a Sasquatch eats.
Another unique perspective on where to increase your chances of a close encounter of the hairy kind with Sasquatch! Most would never equate the Pacific herring spawn as a prime area to go investigate for Sasquatch. Thomas Sewid brings to us a lifetime being a commercial fisherman plying the entire British Columbia coast for herring during March and April.
His career as a fisherman allowed him the opportunity to journey to where most Sasquatch enthusiasts would give their eye teeth to investigate at. Thomas was visiting Klemtu decades before Les Stroud even heard of the isolated Indian village out in the middle of the central coast of British Columbia. Butedale, where John Green documented a sighting Thomas explored that place back in the early 1980’s when it still was a standing abandoned cannery.
Then there’s the west coast of Vancouver Island and throughout the Queen Charlotte Islands a.k.a. Haida Gwaii where Thomas investigated for what the Haida call Gogeet. He’s even been deep into the coastal fjords/inlets to fish and explore. There he would experience at anchor on a few occasions the deep forlorn howl of Sasquatch up in the isolated hills.
Best of all though, a lifetime sitting on fishing decks, docks and bar stools allowed Thomas to ask that question to locals and fellow fisherman, “What you know about Sasquatch?”
Thomas has compiled a lifetime of reports from people that one will more than likely never see in a book or on the Internet. So sit back and enjoy Sasquatch Island Finding Bigfoot: What Bigfoot Eats-Sasquatch and Herring.
On this episode of "On the Shoulders of Giants- Talking Old Timers with Thomas Steenburg", long time investigator Ron Morehead joins the hosts to discuss the Sierra Sounds and to debate the "Quantum Bigfoot" theory. Thomas and Ron have been friends for many years and were a part of the expedition "Operation Sea Monkey" back in 2016. They discuss the famous audio referred to as the "Sierra Sounds" captured by Ron and his team back in the 70's, how it all began, his most recent book, "Quantum Bigfoot" and much more. You will defiantly want to tune into this episode as Ron and Thomas debate the quantum theory as related to Bigfoot, the differences in their opinions on this theory, and, in the end, what they can agree on. Only on Monster X Radio!
Best known for the Sierra Sounds, Ron Morehead is a renowned researcher, author, producer and most importantly, an experiencer. He’s been known for decades for his world-wide research into the Bigfoot/Sasquatch phenomenon. The Sierra Sounds are the only Bigfoot recordings that have been scientifically studied, time-tested, and accredited as being genuine. Ron has documented his personal interactions with these giant beings and produced his story on CD and in his book, “Voices in the Wilderness.” In his most recent book, “The Quantum Bigfoot,” Ron goes above and beyond, combining decades of experience and tireless hours of research into the realm of quantum physics as it could pertain to Bigfoot/Sasquatch. Besides being the Keynote Speaker at many conventions, he has been featured on countless radio programs such as Coast to Coast, BBC TV documentaries, and the Learning Channel.

One the most exciting finds in recent memory in regards to the subject of the Bigfoot phenomenon has been the discovery of a series of ground nests that closely those made by gorillas. The Olympic Project in Washington State has been studying these nests for nearly 4 years and have found much corroborating evidence that leads many to believe that this discovery is the work of the mysterious creatures known to many as Bigfoot.
Members of The Olympic Project have spent hundreds of hours at the nest site as well in the dense forests surrounding the location. One goal of OP members has been to find additional nests. In 2020 while searching a nearby ridgeline, Derek Randles and Monster X's own Shane Corson discovered what appeared to be additional nests that looked to be older than those found at the original site. This discovery set up the events that have been covered in this 3 part show with Shane and fellow OP member , Todd Hale.
While trekking into the area of the second nest find Todd and Shane heard a large creature approaching them. Curiosity turned to apprehension as this unknown entity seemed to circle around above and behind them. Back to back with guns drawn Shane and Todd waited and listened, determining that this was not behavior of any known animal. They eventually were able to leave the area safely.
In Part 3 of this interview, Todd Hale and Shane Corson of the Olympic Project further detail their field investigations, and share some exciting finds. David Ellis of the Olympic Project also joins the show, to discuss some of the audio that Shane and Todd have obtained from their recent field investigations. David Ellis shares his analysis and thoughts on the audio played during the show. This is the last of three episodes.
WHAT’S THE BEST SASQUATCH EVIDENCE?
What’s the best Sasquatch evidence to date? The Roger Patterson, Bob Gimlin Patti film from Bluff Creek in 1967 comes out for most. Then there’s other people filming or speaking about what they encountered. Some great sketches or paintings also come to mind.
Most often overlooked are the North American Indian accounts, art, crests, petroglyphs, pictographs and masks that come to life showing what an ancestor witnessed. Potlatch ceremonies in Big House structures to this day have Dzoonakwa/Sasquatch Welcoming Poles outside and when one walks inside house posts are carved with Dzoonakwa.
Upon the Big House floors for thousands of years Chiefs have shown their crest of Dzoonakwa in mask with an outfit of fur called regalia. Drum beats with wooden baton pound with over 30 men as deep baritone song is sung as the Dzoonakwa comes to life in dance. Amazing to see, but in reality you are hearing and seeing what an ancestor witnessed. It could be a lone Dzoonakwa or one with a basket on its back. Each Chiefs family story is different, as is every Sasquatch encounter to this day.
The Pacific Northwest of U.S.A. and Canada has the greatest amounts of wood Sasquatch carvings to date often referred to as totem poles. Outside in parks, in museums, at ceremonial Big House’s and even in in hundreds of collectors homes one can see the North American interpretation of Sasquatch.
As always, Thomas Sewid shares with all a podcast/videocast that very few could ever duplicate. Monster X Radio is proud to offer you a deeper understanding of Sasquatch with what Thomas shares in his reports. You are sure to be enthralled as you are educated more about our North American Sasquatch that has shared the lands with North American Indians since the dawn of their creation.
SASQUATCH AND STEELHEAD II
Thomas Sewid brings us a sort of repeat on Sasquatch and Steelhead. This type of trout is making a comeback in some PNW river systems due to the hand of man helping them with enhancement projects to increase run sizes. This fish is great target for fisherman, but also an easily accessible seasonal protein source for Sasquatch to harvest at night.
Always the one to look at often overlooked or unknown food sources for Sasquatch, Thomas once again reminds us to look for seasonal harvest locations. This time of year in winter February is the season for steelhead.
Decades exploring the British Columbia coast he reflects on isolated steelhead rivers he has explored where humans rarely venture. There he saw possible sign of Sasquatch where steelhead were spawning in winter.
As always Thomas shares his knowledge and experience for to him it’s all about helping to increase his fellow Sasquatch investigators chance of gathering evidence of the creatures existence. Monster X Radio is proud to have Thomas onboard and once again he’s sure to educate and entertain one with this podcast.
Monster X Radio host and Olympic Project member Shane Corson sits down with fellow OP member and Bigfoot researcher Todd Hale for Part 2 in this 3 part interview.
Todd and Shane get into their actual encounter that took place recently while they were out in the woods of the Olympic Mountains in Washington State and had when they were approached and then flanked by what they believe to be a Bigfoot. Follow up excursions yielded a shocking find. A partially constructed ground nest similar to those previously under study by the Olympic Project was discovered. It seems that Shane and Todd may have interrupted a Bigfoot in the process of building one of these nests. Additional evidence (including a hand impression left in the immediate vicinity of the next).

Monster X Radio host and Olympic Project member Shane Corson sits down with fellow OP member and Bigfoot researcher Todd Hale. Todd and Shane discuss Todd's history of interest in the Bigfoot phenomenon. Todd flies 'under the radar' for the most part , but is well known in the Bigfoot community. He was part of the group that captured a thermal video of 3 creatures in the Sierras in California.

WHY WE DON’T SEE SASQUATCH
“Sasquatch is all hokum, there’s no such thing! I have spent decades out in the bush and never seen a Sasquatch!”
Sound familiar? How many times have we heard this from people who are loggers, hunters, prospectors, hikers and mushroom pickers? Why is it we don’t hear about them seeing or hearing Sasquatch? Then again, maybe they do come close to Sasquatch more times than they know?
Thomas Sewid host of our podcast series Sasquatch Island brings to all great insight into how Sasquatch may just be giving them and others a sign that they were close to them. Decades of bushman experience, only he can bring us all a greater understanding of Sasquatch. Monster X Radio is fortunate to have someone be able to equate not only his experience, but knowledge from the many others from Indian Tribes he has spoken with.
This podcast is sure to tweak many to account for that time you heard and saw something out in the bush that could well be a sign from Sasquatch letting one know you too were judged. Thomas uses the term bush dancer and after listening. you may find that you are one of those that do? An interesting hypothesis into why we don’t see Sasquatch for sure.
So sit back and have a listen, for you are sure to enjoy this latest Sasquatch Island podcast and just maybe, you too will run for that bouncing branch!

ALERT BAY SASQUATCH
Alert Bay, birthplace of Thomas Sewid and a hotbed of Sasquatch reports in these modern times. Most don’t now it’s a town with the highest number of Dzoonakwa/Sasquatch carvings on earth! It’s also known as home of the Killer Whale (Orca) and a place in the shadow of the world’s largest totem pole.
Yes, Dzoonakwa is carved on the pole and just a short distance away is the U’mista Cultural Center www.umista.ca with their beautiful welcoming pole with a Dzoonakwa. Here is housed the repatriated Potlatch regalia and other cultural items. It also holds some amazing old Dzoonakwa carvings. The U’mista has a vast array of Kwakwaka’wakw art on display and for sale.
In the summer one can visit the ceremonial Big House and enjoy the local indigenous youth sharing their dances, songs and family regalia as one witnesses all come to life in dance and song. Who knows, one may even see Dzoonakwa regalia danced in their Big House?
Alert Bay is a Bucket List must for all Sasquatch enthusiasts and investigators! Don’t forget to contact Thomas’s cousin Joe Wilson to order or pick up that amazing Dzoonakwa metal ring, bracelet or other creation in metal or wood.

Thomas decided to create Alert Bay Sasquatch for just prior to recording the episode, he called a woman from the region who gave him a fairly fresh Sasquatch road crossing report from that region on Vancouver Island.
Decades living in that region, Thomas has gathered many Sasquatch reports from that small region of Vancouver Island. In this episode he explains why so many Sasquatch reports come from that region. After hearing this episode one may just want to make their way to this region and conduct their own investigation.
As always Thomas educates, entertains and intrigues us with what he knows! This episode will surely enlighten you about a small little region that who knew was so filled with Sasquatch and indigenous culture pertaining to The Big Fellas!
We talk to film director Dan Wayne and three time world champion taxidermist Ken Walker, about Dan's new documentary Big Fur.
Big Fur is not a typical documentary on taxidermy, it's much bigger than that...Way BIGGER.
"Big Fur" follows world champion taxidermist Ken Walker as he creates, teaches, competes, and judges taxidermy competitions. Walker, who specializes in re-creating extinct and endangered species out of other animals' hides, has worked as a taxidermist at the Smithsonian and has been featured in National Geographic and in the book "Still Life: Adventures in Taxidermy."
Walker is also a professional Roy Orbison impersonator. “Pretty Woman” is one of his favorite songs and, these days, his “pretty woman” is seven feet tall and covered in coarse fur - his re-creation of a female Bigfoot.
Walker lives on the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies where folks have regular Bigfoot encounters and still hunt and trap as a way of life. Is it possible that Bigfoot could exist in this remote and vast landscape? Walker’s argument is compelling; he can change minds in minutes.
Does Bigfoot exist? If she does, her habitat--which she shares with species like caribou, grizzly, and wolverine--is critically endangered. The landscape is being decimated by resource extraction. Logging and oil & gas companies influence environmental policy to protect their own interests, while wilderness is depleted and wildlife conservation is threatened.
The hunting community is dedicated to preserving wilderness. Yet they despise liberal environmentalists and refer to them as "antis". These hunters and outdoorsmen make up a large and powerful demographic. Will they be able to work together with the environmentalists that have the same interests at heart? Ultimately, the documentary discovers that we must introduce the next generation to value conservation and wilderness, because only they can save it.
While “Big Fur” is primarily a biographical portrait, Walker’s story also functions as a lens that brings wilderness and wildlife conservation issues into sharp focus.

Gunnar and Shane discuss the new season of Expedition Bigfoot as well as a couple of upcoming documentaries on the topic of Bigfoot and some exciting changes that are taking place with Monster X Radio.
Seth Breedlove and Small Town Monsters are working on a brand new documentary "'On the Trail of Bigfoot: The Journey" to be released later this year. The area to be covered in the newest STM Bigfoot film is of particular interest as it will be The Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. A Kickstarter campaign is scheduled to launch on February 2nd. If you're not familiar with Small Town Monsters Monster X highly recommends all their previous works which you can find on their website https://www.smalltownmonsters.com/. So check it out. We'll have updates as their latest exciting project progresses.
Ran across an article that announced that Hulu is producing a Bigfoot documentary their calling 'Sasquatch' which centers around some 25 year old murders that were attributed to Bigfoot (we've been scratching our heads trying to figured out what incident this refers to). We'll share more as we learn more. Who knows we may even get someone associated with the project on Monster X.
Expedition Bigfoot is back with a second season on the Travel Channel. This time the foursome is in southeast Kentucky. Gunnar watched the first 2 episodes and found them entertaining. It is yet to be seen what (if any) evidence comes out of Season 2. The concept of a group with technology focusing on one location for a period of time is solid.
The guys talked about the nest site in Washington and the subsequent find of a second nest site being discovered nearly a year ago and the corroborating evidence the was also found. Shane and fellow Olympic Project member Todd Hale discussed how this second nest was found in a three part interview. If you haven't listened to those shows or want to listen to them again here are the links.

One of the most common questions that comes up in conversation with people that are skeptical of the existence of a large hair-covered being roaming the forests of the world is : Where are the bones?
This is a podcast offering great insight into why we don’t find the bones of Sasquatch from the North American Indian perspective. Thomas Sewid host of Monster X Radio’s podcast series Sasquatch Island answers the question from accounts he has heard from fellow First Nations in Canada’s PNW and what he learned with an Omaha Indian from Nebraska.
This podcast will amaze one about the geology of North Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada that allows not only the dead Sasquatch to be hidden from us hairless humans, but also why the Sasquatch is so hard to find in his region?
As some know, Thomas works closely with Omaha Indian Lucas White who lives on the Omaha Indian Reservation in Macy Nebraska. Lucas has encountered Ci’tonga, their Sasquatch many times. He’s been and still is taught by the Omaha elders about the respect that must be shown towards Ci’tonga. Lucas is able to recognize evidence of a Sasquatch burial area and to leave it alone by leaving posthaste and never returning to the area.
Respect is what all North American Indians are taught with all burial areas. Something Thomas was falsely accused of in 2014 and he elaborates on this dark time in his past where his own people attacked him due to a Fake News story.
We hear his side, where he educates the listener to what really took place. He did learn that what took place must be used as an example of where we need to stand in regards to possibly finding a possible Sasquatch burial site. In listening to this podcast we are educated that we must adhere to the teachings of the old people and recognize mistakes that were conducted in the past.
Monster X Radio once again brings to the enthusiasts of Sasquatch another unique look into the whole equation based upon North American beliefs, perspectives, teachings and encounters with the ones from The Other Tribe.
On this episode of “On the Shoulders of Giants”, hosts Thomas Steenburg and Julie Rench welcome long time investigator, writer and book author Lyle Blackburn to the show to discuss some of the back stories to the 1972 film The Legend of Boggy Creek. They separate fact from fiction and the influence it still has on many people to become intrigued by the enigma of Sasquatch. What really happened in Arkansas all those years ago?
Join in and take a front seat to the true history of this iconic film and how it validated other sightings from as far away as the Pacific Northwest going back to the 1950’s to present day. Also, they discuss Lyle’s investigations, books, films and upcoming projects that he is involved in.
Lyle is a native Texan known for his work in writing, music, film, and cryptid research. He is the author of several acclaimed books, including The Beast of Boggy Creek and Sinister Swamps, whose subject matter reflects his life-long fascination with legends and sighting reports of unknown creatures and strange phenomena. Lyle is also the founder of the rock band, Ghoultown, and narrator/co-producer of documentary films including The Mothman of Point Pleasant and Boggy Creek Monster. Lyle is a frequent guest speaker at cryptozoology and paranormal conferences around the country, and has appeared on numerous television shows such as Monsters and Mysteries in America, Strange Evidence, and Finding Bigfoot.
From Wikipedia
The film, The Legend of Boggy Creek, which claims to be a true story, details the existence of the "Fouke Monster", a seven-foot-tall Bigfoot-like creature that has reportedly been seen by residents of a small Arkansas community since the 1940s. It is described as being completely covered in reddish-brown hair, leaving three-toed tracks and having a foul odor.
Several locals from the small town of Fouke, Arkansas recall their stories, often appearing as themselves, claiming that the creature has killed many large animals over the years. One farmer claims that the beast carried off two of his 200 lb. hogs with little effort, leaping a fence with the animals tucked under its arm. In one scene, a kitten is shown as having been "scared to death" by the creature. The narrator informs the audience that, while people have shot at the creature in the past, it has always managed to escape. In another sequence, hunters attempt to pursue the creature with dogs, but the dogs refuse to give chase. A police constable states that while driving home one night, the creature suddenly ran across the road in front of his car.
In a later sequence, culled from the actual newspaper accounts inspiring the film, the creature is shown menacing a family in a remote country house. After being fired upon, the creature attacks, sending one family member to the hospital.
The creature was never captured and is said to still stalk the swamps of southern Arkansas to this day.
