Started in October 2022, the Dumfries & Galloway Rugby Podcast aims to shine a light on the game of rugby in the southwest of Scotland. Episodes include special guest interviews, exclusive D&G rugby news and fixture previews/reviews for the six clubs in the region - Newton Stewart, Dumfries Saints, Stewartry, Annan, Wigtonshire and Moffat. Hosted by Ross Sanderson & John Muir.
Annan Warriors star Kayleigh Warrick is our special guest this week to talk about their brilliant start to the season, playing rugby with her dad as head coach and helping organise the Pigbarians touring 7s side!
We also have Moffat as the club under the spotlight, a thought-provoking coaches' question and 9 fixtures to preview for this weekend!
Dumfries Saints legend Ross Strawbridge is in the hot seat this week to talk us through the new ethos at Park Farm, the rise of rugby in D&G and even to read us a wee poem he wrote just for the podcast!
In part 2, the community spotlight & coaches' questions return, while there are also 11 fixtures to preview for this coming weekend!
This week's episode, (unluckily for you), is just 35 minutes of Ross by himself! Due to certain circumstances, John and any guests were unavailable so Ross spent some time running through the region's results - in which there was a draw! - and previewing what we have coming up this weekend.
Although it may feel like listening to Ross' personal stream of consciousness, we promise there is a lot to look forward to in this episode as he gives us the lowdown from each and every club!
For the first time this season, we are without a guest but it allows us the chance to take a deeper dive into the new segments of the podcast, as well as some time to preview the NINE games we have coming up this weekend!
It's also John's birthday week so we, of course, celebrate the man himself by giving him free rein to do what he does best - talk!

After a few weeks off, club rugby returns to Dumfries and Galloway! Newton Stewart, Dumfries Saints, Stewartry, Annan, Wigtownshire and Moffat are all in action this weekend before Scotland host the All Blacks at BT Murrayfield on Sunday. This week, as always, we've done a results review and a fixtures preview, as well as discussed the Schools Rugby Tournament and introduced our new interactive initiative for all of you to get involved with!
We're back for epsiode two! This week we run through the weekend results, which included wins for Newton Stewart and Dumfries Saints, and preview the upcoming fixtures. We also celebrate Stafford McDowall's inclusion in the Scotland squad, Dumfries' youth championship win and Euan Muirhead's selection for Glasgow U19.
