In this video I open up 200 Chaos packs in the Play2Earn game called Splinterlands
I decided today was the day to open up 200 more packs. The goal for Chaos was max deck by the end of this month and this 200 pack opening should put us rather close to that goal. With just 24 hours left we will be hitting the market!
In total 15 legendary cards where picked up! One of the highest pick ups yet and what's interesting is hardly no options were used. That also means that that amount of cards would fully level up one legendary card and have a few left over. That's a seriously good pull in my opinion.
In total we have now opened up 1,200 Chaos packs.
Where does that make us stand?
One of the coolest things is we are ranked so far at Diamond 2 for this season. Which I account directly to leveling up this Chaos deck quickly. We still need hundreds of cards in order to max out the deck but the nice thing is most of these can be bought for pennies. Let's take a look.
Take note these numbers are rough math estimates and are subject to change.
Common Chaos Cards: I would say right now all of my common cards are at level 7 which puts me at about 250 cards of each needed to max them to level 10 At roughly $0.15 each per card that and a total of 29 total cards that puts me at roughly 7.250 cards needed and a cost of $1,087.50 to max out.
Rare Chaos Cards: For these I put them at level 5 across the board which means 75 cards needed for each. At $0.40 each that means each card fully maxed would cost me another $30 each and with 28 total cards that is $840 needed
Epic Chaos Cards: I put myself at level 3 even though many of these are on the high end of 3 and almost 4. In order to level these to max level 6 that would put us at 36 cards needed for each at about $2.20 each is $79.90 each card and with 17 total cards would need $1,358.30
Legendary Chaos Cards: This is where I've focused the most and it seems to be paying off. While new ones drop each 1 million packs sold I've been holding pretty steady with them. I put this at a solid 3 which many nearing their 4 mark. But for easy math lets just say level 3 across the board. That means each card would need 5 more in order to fully level up to level 4. At a rough cost of $15 each card that means $75 a card and with 23 of these that's $1,725 needed.
That puts me at a grand total to buy off the market for a max deck at a little over $5,000 but remember that's a very rough estimate and an over estimate as I'm not factoring in partial leveled up cards. I would realistically put this more around the $3,500 range. That would give up 875 packs with 5 cards in each 4,375 cards and honestly I'm going to say already it's less expensive to just max out on the markets right now lol.
In total we spent $4,800 so far on packs and opening. Which moving forward I will most likely keep the packs and continue to build them on the site. That means a full deck would run us around $10,000 to max out from pack openings and buying off the market. You'd most likely spend more than that just trying to get them out of decks as you'll end up with extras of cards. Not a bad thing.
The other thing I didn't factor in here is the gold foil cards. These to me are bonus as I don't in particular use them. However they do hold some solid value and the do count towards card numbers. I'd also not get these if I bought off the market. For example the Chaos summoner Quix The Devious gold foil is selling for about $275 so there's huge value there when opening your deck which could be sold off if you wanted to. Primarily what you're after on these deck opens would be a gold legendary. The other gold foils do hold value but it drastically pales in comparison to the legendary.

Splinterlands has had a very active last few days and with that has come some very heavy buying of packs in order to get these airdrop cards. To me this smells ripe of opportunity more so now than ever after opening this latest 200 pack.
In total we picked up another 12 legendary cards which would be enough to max out one legendary card and still have one left over. This actully put us a lot closer to maxing out all of these legendary cards which is pretty awesome. We even picked up a epic or two that flashed to gold foil! Even though this was a much better opening then the last 200 the market price has dropped like crazy. These 200 pakcs are only valued at $2.75 each after we combine everything together. That's crazy stupid under valued so what does that mean? That means I'll be hitting the markets for the next few days and stocking up on cards as prices continue to stay low and possibly drop even further. I think this will be the play moving forward while buying up packs while I can and simply holding them instead of opening them for right now.
This also hit a majority of our common cards up to level 7's so we are getting rather close to maxing out the deck here. The goal is still full max out of Chaos deck across the board by the end of this month. All the while stocking up on packs to resell later down the road.
What are you plans for Chaos packs?
If you're into affiliate marketing and looking to ramp up your Splinterlands game along with inviting some friends in. Right now is one of the best times to do so as cards are in abundance, rental prices are crazy low. After these packs sell out there's no telling what will happen but I firmly believe that prices are going to start going up from there which will make it not harder to get in the game but more expensive. Remember I like to play the long game. It's what took my $10,000 splinterlands investment and turned it into over $300,000 in 3 years.

I knew I wanted to open up more packs but my gut was telling me wait till you buy potions for gold and legendary. Yeah, Splinterlands is good at triggering me that way lol
Even though the potions only give a small percent increase over 200 packs that can really start to add up and in this case I wanted to open 200 without hardly any potions just to see the outcome. I have to say it wasn’t that great!
With a value of just $649.08 list and $621.73 on the market values of these cards the packs come out to be worth just $3.24 each! That’s less then the cost of a pack which is $4 at the moment on open market with no voucher. This could very well be because of the wild down swing from the crypto markets as of the last few days or simply because another 12 million packs are about to be dropped on the markets. In any case I’m personally thinking I might hold my packs for a few months and sell them later and instead buy cards themselves as they are so low cost at the moment.
What’s really cool is I’m starting to somewhat DeFi in Hive with SwapHive offering up liquidity which then actually provides me tokens to sell off and buy packs/cards with. It’s actually pretty legit and something I’ll most likely push a little harder for moving forward. On the other front I also heavily invested into Wax games last year and those pay passive crypto as well or I can just sell off those cards in the other games as they increase in value and pick up most splinterlands cards. All in all I see us maxing out this Chaos deck by the end of the month and with it I’m going to be jumping into some SPS tournaments for Chaos (if there are any there should be)
With this opening I think I only landed 4-6 legendary cards that’s about half of what my other opening have been with potions. It also gave me half the value of what it was with potions so even though potions would cost me roughly $200 (of which about $100 would be used on the 200 pack opening) it seems to be worth it so far after that opening in being that it would have in theory valued my decks at +$300 - $500 more in value. Of course there’s a big element of chance and the element of card values. I’m starting to think though perhaps doubling the amount of packs this drop might have been a little too much but time will tell!

I really enjoy doing these videos not only is it fun but it's an easy way to start doing a little marketing for HIVE and Splinterlands. I have say though this pack opening even with all of the great cards inside value wise didn't pan out to be as high as the values seem to be lowering and lowering. We aren't even out of prelaunch sales phase which has me a little worried.
In all the packs in total have a value of
200 packs $4 each - $800 + vouchers which are selling at $2-$3 each we will say $3 makes the possible cost of these packs at $1,400
At list price these cards are worth $1,202.50 and the Market value is $1,182.25 which is lower then if I would have just sold the packs and vouchers.
HOWEVER....
That's short investment strats right there and instead I'm playing the long game.
Just like Beta, Untamed and Dice packs had low values when they where being sold they now fetch a rather high price. Once all packs of Chaos sell out which might be rather quick by the end of this month I believe these prices will start to climb. Not only for the packs themselves but also for the cards.
The other thing is I'm preparing for lands this year. I believe beta cards will have a bonus for being used on lands and since they have become a little obsolete compared to untamed and for sure Chaos packs it to me makes sense to create a maxed level card deck for Chaos.
This in turn will allow me to still battle it out with a maxed newer deck Chaos while max mining lands with my maxed out beta deck.
Or at least that's the thoughts on that, time will tell if that's a solid play or not but I have a feeling it's the right play at the moment.
I'm actully pretty pumped for lands and mining resources and crafting items. I'm also stoked about what my keep might be and do! It's why I'm not selling any of my land (unless I can get a million bucks for it all lol) Overall though I'm pumped for this game and what's to come to it in 2022. Even though prices have slumped off a bit it's only a matter of when a new deck is released and values of SPS spike because of vouchers and so forth. SPS is also said to play a huge roll when it comes to land and while I only have 142 plots of land out of all of them I feel it will be a sizeable amount and pay some nice passive revenues.
I'm also hoping to soon partner up with Splinterlands a bit more and even start live streaming again. I have a large gaming community I built over the years through giveaways and working with other streamers, content creators, investors, business owners and esports teams. If things fit well I expect to be streaming a bit, creating more videos and promoting Hive as well as the gaming community heavily!

This might be one of the best chistmas eve presents ever! Opening up another 200 packs of Chaos. It for sure seems like the value of these packs have gone down but that's understanable being that there are still millions of packs that will be avilable soon at $4 each! We won't see prices on these climb in terms of packs or card values till they are sold out. That being said each pack opened today was valued at roughly $9.90 per pack. Which is down from the last time we opened up 200 packs. I did land one legendary gold that I know of maybe another it's hard to keep track of when doing a mass opening like this lol I should have pulled the number before and compared it after.
Overall this pack opening was a success. Later today and this week I'm going to start combining them and see where I stand in terms of maxing out a chaos deck. This has been a total of 400 packs opened so far. I still have 540 more packs I can open with about 42 vouchers per day being unlocked. I'll most likely hold on to these vouchers as they seem low right now but I don't want them to become worthless either so I'm debaiting on using them all now or selling them thoughts?
The other thing I'm wondering is when land rolls our will having a high level gold foil produce more then a non gold foil? Does anyone any any details on that yet?
I consider these cards and any play 2 earn game as an investment. I believe these will pay off over time not only from card value but from the other things they mine and produce as the game continues to grow and evolve.

Ever wonder what it's like to open up 200 Splinterlands Chaos packs? What about 200 Packs WITH Max potions for gold and legendary? Let's find out in this video I created my first ever for the 3speak network and splinterlands!
I tired doing all of my packs all 385 of them however the system would only let me do 200 RIP
However, enjoy the video. This is my first ever video upload on 3speak so I'm not sure how well it's going to work. My hopes are good and perhaps we will start doing more of these and maybe even live streaming on here for splinterlands and other crypto games. Besides that I'm also hopefully going to be streaming some splinterlands here soon on Twitch to help spread awareness to the game to my massive gaming community I built over the years. I'm pretty pumped about that!
In this video I opened up all the packs and quickly ran through them. I have to say we seemed to have landed a solid amount of legendaries in this opening. After checking we landed15 total legendaries! This brings our total of those cards up to 23 total Legendary cards so far in the Chaos pack set so we are slowly getting there!
Total Perceived Value came out to be: $2,949.31 for market value making each pack worth on average $14.74
That might not sound like all that much but remember new packs have tons of supply left right now. The plan is to build a two full decks of chaos using one for battle and one for renting or land when that opens up(however I might use my maxed beta deck if there's a bonus for doing so as the beta cards just don't hold up well in battle anymore sadly)
With two maxed decks we can fully compete in splinterlands and also earn passive income on the side which will most likely be invested back into more packs and then the extra sold off. I'm still debating on if I rather sell cards or sell DEC/SPS for the passive income aspect of the plan. If you have suggestions or thoughts on that please let me know down in the comments with some details as to why you feel that way. I'm curious!
Also I forgot to mention we landed a pretty solid amount of golds from that opening as you could see from the video. In total we hit 2 legendary golds currently totaling $900 on the market. In total we picked up 40 gold foil cards from 200 packs.
Do I consider this an investment?
In a way I do. I love playing the game and earning rewards and I also love the fact that there's so much more still to come to Splinterlands. With that being said to me it's also an investment now. Before it was just fun to play but now with values at much higher rates on cards, pack, SPS, lands, DEC and whatever else gets added it's to me considered a very real investment of which I will be cashing in either by selling directly or renting/selling. Also when lands become a thing I have a strong feeling that will become a passive income as well.
