Dr. Janda came from a big, medically driven family but wasn’t sure where his path would take him. After shadowing lots of different types of medical professionals, he landed on his first hunch, dentistry. While most dental school hopefuls stress over getting an interview and doing well, he had an Ace up his sleeve by attending Creighton University. Creighton prefers to accept their undergraduates for their graduate programs and that’s exactly what happened!
But that isn’t where the story ends. Dr. Janda still had one interview to attend at Colorado University. This interview would end up being his proving ground where he had to justify to himself and the faculty that he belonged at CU. Listen to this episode to hear the thoughtful insight Dr. Janda shares about his experience in getting into dental school and a residency.

Dr. Tagarman wasn’t going to take “No!” for an answer when applying to medical school. Even though she was initially rejected into med school on her first go round, she knew that wasn’t the end of her journey. By getting a Special Master’s Degree, she was able to fill in the gaps her first application had and ultimately got accepted to Tulane University’s medical school.
Dr. Tagarman is quick to credit the host of mentors she had at her disposal as she prepared for her interviews. Whether it was the physician’s she worked for previously or the professors in her Master’s program, many of them gave her valuable insight about what the process looked like and how she should respond. That advice paid off as big for her and it can for you too!
