Marc takes a well-known parable from Luke 11 and shares how proximity to the Father and the relationship of surrender can take one from survival (or an orphan) to being a Son of God (our true identity), where proximity meets surrender.The perspective shared from the Luke 11 parable is not often discussed and is typically viewed one way, whereas most parables that Jesus taught can be viewed in a number of ways. Tune in and hang out as we talk through this parable and learn more about the Father. Note: Proxology is a made-up word that encompasses: prox=proximity ology= the study of Proxology is the study of proximity to the Father, and how we can surrender and rest in that. He emphasises that God desires for people to be free, not just from sin and the law, but also from burdens and bondage. He believes God wants to rejuvenate and empower individuals with a new spirit and boldness.Kent states that many people are restrained, likening them to caterpillars before metamorphosis, suggesting that they have the potential to transform into something new and beautiful, like butterflies. He encourages us to embrace the freedom offered by God and to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us towards a more liberated and joyous life.He continues by discussing the importance of responding to God's call immediately rather than waiting until one feels ready or perfect. In Episode 10 of Acts 29, Sari shares the importance of rising above circumstances and adopting a kingdom perspective akin to an eagle soaring high. Currently, there are 20 groups operational within our church, with many of these groups consisting of more than ten people. Pania urges us to reflect on their participation and commitment to these groups, emphasising the importance of fostering connections and facilitating deeper relationships within the church.Referencing 1 John 4:7-37, Pania shares that love for one another is a fundamental teaching as a Jesus-follower, as love is a manifestation of knowing and abiding in God. She encourages us to demonstrate love towards each other, reinforcing the notion that the church is not merely a building but a collective body of individuals who accept and follow Christ's teachings and play that out in our relationships every day.
She shares a personal testimony about her journey of faith and the impact of God's love on her life, urging us to reconnect with their first love — God. She emphasised the importance of remembering and repenting and to be proactive in our faith and participation within the church.
Lastly, Glenn also shares his powerful testimony, highlighting the importance of being rooted and connected within the church community for personal support and spiritual growth. In Episode 6 of our series Dan & Sarah share. Our gathering was hosted by our own Peak Youth. In this episode both Dan and Sarah share.
Dan:In Ep.6 Dan discusses the transformative power of faith, highlighting the importance of personal change through God's power in order to positively impact the community. He emphasises the importance of actively seeking and prioritising God in one's life.
He reflects on his past life as a professional golfer, where he achieved success but struggled emotionally and spiritually due to prioritising personal gains over his faith. Despite facing depression and being unhappy, through actively seeking God, participating in prayers, and engaging with scriptures, Dan experienced a significant positive change in his life.
He shares that consistent prayer, reading the Bible, and taking proactive steps to deepen his relationship with God have been fundamental to his transformation, ultimately leading to a happier and more fulfilled life.
Sarah:Sarah shares about significant positive changes in her life and marriage, attributing these changes to her and her husband's deepening relationship with God. She encourages wives in similar situations to pray for their husbands, asking for divine intervention to bring about positive transformation in their lives.
Sarah also highlights the importance of recalling and acting upon prophetic words received, aligning actions with the divine calling one recognises in their life. She shares a personal story illustrating how God highlighted individuals for her to pray for in public, emphasising God's knowledge and care for every individual, regardless of their appearance or circumstances.
She stresses the importance of the Great Commission, urging us to preach the gospel to all and to engage in spiritual warfare through evangelism. Sarah explained that this warfare is not against individuals who may seem antagonistic or indifferent to the faith, but against the spiritual powers that hold these individuals captive. Therefore, she advocates approaching such individuals with understanding, compassion, and love rather than judgment and condemnation.
Sarah urges us to remember their state before they were saved, to contemplate God's love and salvation, and to develop a compassionate heart towards those who are still lost. This compassion, she believes, is crucial in effectively sharing the gospel and bringing others to Christ. She concludes by encouraging everyone to engage in spiritual warfare by witnessing to others about Christ's love and salvation.

We want to thank Don & Julie McDonnell for sharing with us. Don discusses the giftings of the Holy Spirit within individuals who are present, suggesting that some have let these giftings go dormant. Don expresses a desire for these dormant spiritual gifts to be revived and activated, mentioning that this awakening is not confined to a few individuals but is meant for the wider church community. Don believes there is a revival taking place, he urges those us to reconnect with our spiritual joy and not miss out on the "fire of God", the importance of expressiveness and enthusiasm in worship. Don shares an anecdote of a recent event in Wellington where someone, moved by the power of God, ran down the altar, gave their life to Christ, and experienced deliverance and freedom. Don encourages engagement with the power of God and references Acts Chapter 1, Verse 1, underscoring the importance of action (what Jesus began to do) prior to teaching. Don critiques churches that preach about healing and revival without witnessing tangible manifestations of these phenomena, urging a focus on action and the realisation of spiritual teachings in the lives of believers.

This was shared on Father's day 2023, however it is story that is for everyone. Kent discusses the story of the prodigal son, representing the human tendency to sin and the graciousness of God (the Father). The son, by asking for his inheritance early, disrespects and dishonours the father as if the father is dead. Despite the son's sinfulness, the father absorbs the hurt, remaining steady, constant, and immovable, much like God's love for humanity. The father welcomes the repentant son back, reconciling with him, much as God does with sinners. Kent emphasises the importance of fathers being accepting, patient, and demonstrating love in their families. He reflects on how humans, like the prodigal son, are discontent when distanced from God, pursuing futile ambitions and greed, and he stresses the importance of valuing non-material things, especially relationships. Kent concludes by encouraging fathers to foster a positive, loving, and accepting household, engaging with their children's lives and interests and providing both acceptance and correction as needed.

Don McDonell shares with us, emphasising our potential and importance as agents of change in the world. Don encourages us to recognise our value and authority as individuals connected to God. In this gathering, we had the honour of baptising some of our church family. This is most awesome as people follow what Jesus did, and is part of our faith journey. Kent does lead in sharing about a number of habits for a successful and fulfilling life: giving and resting. Drawing from scriptures, particularly from Luke 6 and the story of David, he emphasises the importance of being a "giver" in various aspects of life, be it time, finances, or service. He shares giving not only helps others but also enriches the giver by shifting their focus from self-centeredness to serving others.Kent focuses on rest. He talks about how Jesus took time away from people to recharge and be alone. Quality alone time and rest are essential for well-being, and Kent shares the practical impact of sleep deprivation, citing its detrimental effects on decision-making, emotional stability, and more.Kent also speaks about the power of faith, especially when faced with doubt and difficulty. He urges his you and I to rekindle their relationship with God even if we've been wavering. In part 2 of Where The Enemy Has Been, Jack discusses the significance of receiving guidance and direction from God in various situations. He begins by using the analogy of forgiveness to describe the process of seeking and holding onto a word from God. He mentions how forgiveness can initially feel complete; however, old emotions may resurface upon encountering the person who hurt you, highlighting the need for complete forgiveness that brings a positive perspective towards them.
Jack also draws parallels between forgiveness and joy, explaining how maintaining joy in difficult situations requires consciously choosing to focus on positive outcomes. He emphasises the importance of seeking God's guidance in decision-making, recounting the story of David inquiring of God before engaging with his enemies and receiving specific instructions on strategy. Jack highlights the value of receiving a "Rhema word," a specific word from God, for the current situation to gain direction and confidence.
He then shares personal stories, such as Peak's growth and building projects, illustrating how relying on God's word led to successful outcomes. Jack explains that God's guidance brings hope, joy, peace, and courage to navigate life's challenges. He encourages a simple, straightforward approach to Christianity, where seeking God's guidance, living righteously, and having a vision for the future are key components of a fulfilling life.

Jack starts with a situation where David, the future king of Israel, is facing one that is filled with challenges and distress. David had been anointed as king but was not yet reigning, and King Saul was jealous of him, pursuing him relentlessly. To escape the pressure, David seeks refuge with the Philistine King, who gives him a city named Ziklag.
While David is away, the Amalekites invade Ziklag, burning it down and taking all the women and children captive. Upon returning and seeing the devastation, David and his men are overwhelmed with grief and distress. They even contemplate stoning David, blaming him for the tragedy.
In this dire situation, David finds strength in the Lord, encourages himself, and seeks guidance through prayer. He asks God if he should pursue the Amalekites, and God assures him that he will recover all. With renewed determination, David and his men find a captive who leads them to the Amalekite camp, where they find the enemies celebrating the plunder they had taken from Ziklag.
For the rest of the story, you'll have to listen in. Within the storytelling Jack emphasizes the importance of trusting in God's plans and not succumbing to fear and doubt. He shares a personal experience about a visiting speaker who accurately prophesied about a family's pregnancy and an attack on the baby but assured that God had already cancelled the assignment.
Jack encourages listeners to find strength in God during difficult times and not allow negative voices or situations to rob them of their joy and purpose. He highlights the need to stay rooted in faith and trust that God is always ahead of any challenges or obstacles we may face.

Sunday's gathering had so many powerful and amazing moments, from worship, sharing and insights from our amazing young people.
One of the most powerful moments that we didn't get to capture in full was at the end, with everyone standing and cheering for our young people that shared. It is moments like this that we (as a church) will continue to cheer on and be the biggest supporters of our Young People. Thank you, Peak Yth, for following hard after him.
In this conversation, Kent emphasizes the significance of everyday conversations and situations in our lives. He shares that God can use even the smallest interactions to make a difference. He encourages everyone to pay attention to the people and circumstances that catch their interest.

Kent refers to Peter's statement about not having silver or gold but offering healing in the name of Jesus, emphasizing the power of Jesus' name.

Kent encourages applying the name of Jesus to various situations in life and recalls a personal experience with his daughter's eczema, where relying on the name of Jesus made a difference.

He explores waiting upon the Lord and entwining oneself in Him, comparing it to a vine entwining itself around as support and recognizing one's design and purpose to operate in the supernatural realm.
He mentions the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden as an example of how Satan tries to divert individuals from their original design. Despite any scepticism we may harbour, Kristen reassures us that, as believers, we're part of an extraordinary spiritual movement. He concludes this part of the conversation by emphasizing that the power and kingdom belong to God, a core belief that underpins our faith and vision.Kristen tells us about the striking similarities he observed between a revival at Asbury University and a revival meeting in Lower Hutt, despite the significant geographical distance between the two. This list of revival characteristics, shared by Pete Gregg, includes a tangible sense of peace, a restorative sense of belonging, authentic hope, humility in power, and a focus on the adoration of Jesus. Inspired by the "Jesus Revolution" movie and noting the growing needs of the young generation, Kristen states that a significant, drought-breaking spiritual rain is on the way. She challenges the notion of independence and maturity often associated with adulthood, arguing instead for a childlike faith that is reliant on and trusts in God. Maintain constant faith in God's goodness and sees it crucial to acknowledge our need for Him in our daily lives, including in understanding love and managing our resources.Lené shares the concept of affect regulation, our ability to control and balance our emotions relative to our external circumstances. She draws an analogy with babies who cannot regulate their emotions independently and require the calming presence of a parent to help soothe them, suggesting a parallel to our need for God's reassuring presence in managing our emotional states.--
