Are you ready for an exciting summary of the latest episode of the Alpine Property Podcast? In episode 20, Lesley Thomas and Steve Thomas review a 4-day French AIps trip. Here's what you need to know!

Key Highlights

• Visiting the Alps as often as I do is important to give the client confidence that you know what you are talking about. You need to understand the what and where you are selling.

• Finally getting the chance to visit Val Thorens at 2300m, somewhere l've been wanting to visit for a number of years. It certainly did not disappoint

• There is still a misperception that Courchevel 1850 is full of Russian Buyers and owners. This has not been the case for many years. Now there is a diverse mix of owners and those that visit 1850

• Les Allues sits below Meribel at an altitude of 1100m and is a place where some clients overlook. The village itself is a very traditional with narrow streets and warm atmosphere. I really like it there.

• As with Courchevel, many of the properties for sale in Meribel that I saw are sold completely off market without any advertising. This is why I cant stress enough, its important to contact us, irrespective of what is advertised on the Alpine Property lnvestments website to let us know what you are looking for.

For the two restaurants mentioned in this episode, details can be found below:

• Bistrot Serac – St Gervais (https://www.3serac.fr/bistrots%C3%A9rac/)

• L'Ceil de Beuf – Courchevel Village (https://loeildeboeuf-courchevel.com/)

Join us on our next episode as we continue to uncover Steve’s exciting adventures. Stay tuned for Part 2!

Welcome to Episode 15 of Alpine Property Podcast with me Steve Thomas, this episode is the final one for this winter season. With Easter almost upon us, I discuss here the advantages of Easter skiing and the best destinations to ski during this time of the year.

Key Takeaways

  • Easter skiing is less crowded compared to the peak times of Christmas, New Year, and February weeks. This means the slopes are quieter, lifts have smaller queues, and getting around your ski domain is more efficient.
  • With longer days, more blue sky, sunny days, and warmer weather compared to peak season, Easter skiing provides a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. Families with young children can also enjoy the snow without worrying about cold feet and hands.
  • Prices at Easter are generally less than peak season weeks, making it a perfect time to visit. Lift passes, ski hire, flights, and transfers are also much more affordable during this time of year.
  • Ski areas with their own microclimates, such as the Grand Massif, can generate above-average snowfall, making them snow-sure destinations even during Easter. This is also a good factor to consider when buying a ski property.

Keep your eyes peeled for Lesley and I will be back again with brand new episodes and guest interviews for the summer in the Alps and watch out for special episodes dropping during the interseason. I hope you found all 15 episodes of the podcast useful if you would like to have a conversation about buying and owning a property in the French or Swiss Alps, then please reach out to us.

Within our weekly show I thought it would be helpful to occasionally choose a few of the many exceptional projects we have for sale and give a more in-depth taste of the developments.

So in today’s latest episode of the Alpine Property Podcast, I’ve picked two ski in and out projects for sale in the resorts of Notre Dame de Bellecombe within the Espace Diamant ski domain and a new development just released in La Plagne within the Paradiski ski area. In addition to reviewing these developments, I also cover a question I’m asked on a regular basis, regarding reclaiming the French VAT of 20%, when purchasing and renting new properties.

During the last episode, I spoke about some of the benefits of video calls and our company mission to visit new project launches so that we can understand them fully. On that note, I will be visiting the recently launched Plagne Bellecote project from lunch time on the 13th March 2023. Should any listener wish to organise an onsite video call, I’d be happy to set this up. Please contact me via the show notes and we can finalise a suitable time.

Historically those in real estate like us would have generally relied on static high-resolution photos in their advertisements to promote their property. But with the need for the real estate market to continue during the global lockdowns, the Real Estate sector had to evolve.

In this latest episode of the Alpine Property podcast we will be discussing the pros and cons of viewing and purchasing property in the Alps using video calls, as well as the most commonly used video call Apps used to showcase properties to clients.

Given the past restrictions on travel thanks to Covid, live video calls were adapted to showcase properties. Now we can freely travel again, would you consider a live video property call to make your decision to purchase a property or must it absolutely be an in person visit? I would love to know your thoughts?

In today's episode, we're diving into the age-old question of whether to rent or buy your ski gear for your next adventure.

On one hand, renting gear can be a cost-effective option, especially if you're only an occasional skier or if you're uncertain of your skill level. Renting also allows you to try out different types of equipment and see what works best for you before making a purchase. On the other hand, owning your own gear can save you money in the long run, and you'll have the added convenience of having your gear readily available whenever you're ready to hit the slopes.

In the end, the decision of whether to rent or buy your ski gear comes down to your personal preferences and budget. Weighing the pros and cons of each option can help you make an informed decision. Ultimately, the most important thing is that you have a great time on the slopes, no matter what gear you choose. Happy skiing!
