Does following Jesus mean we are promised earthly wealth? Many believers trust God to answer prayer, provide for their needs, and bless His people. But does that mean every Christian should expect to be rich?

In this episode of Proclamation Station, we examine what Jesus and the Apostle Paul teach about faith and money, Christian contentment, and God’s provision. Scripture teaches us to store up treasures in heaven, guard our hearts against greed, and remember that life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.

This episode pushes back against the idea that weak faith is the reason a believer is not wealthy. Jesus never promised a trouble-free life or guaranteed earthly riches, but He did promise peace, strength, eternal life, and the presence of God through every season.

What do you do when God tells you to move forward, but something behind you keeps pulling at your heart?

The Bible gives us sobering examples: Lot’s wife looked back after being told to flee, the children of Israel longed for Egypt after God delivered them from slavery, and Jesus warned that those who follow Him must not keep looking back while trying to serve in God’s kingdom.

These accounts remind us that obedience is not only about leaving a place physically. It is also about letting go in our hearts. Sometimes God delivers us from something, but our memory, comfort, fear, or desire tries to pull us back.

No marriage is perfect, and every husband and wife has faults. But when home becomes difficult, painful, or unsafe, wives must remember this truth: never let a bad situation separate you from God.

In this episode of Proclamation Station, we look at biblical wisdom for wives through the lives of Sarah, Zipporah, and Abigail—three women who faced difficult situations connected to the choices and actions of their husbands. Their stories remind us that God sees women, values women, protects women, and gives strength and wisdom in hard places.

Together, we discuss Sarah’s painful experiences with Abraham, Zipporah’s courage when Moses failed to obey God’s command, and Abigail’s wisdom when Nabal’s foolishness placed his household in danger. As the nation marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, this episode of Proclamation Station takes time to reflect on a powerful question raised by Reverend Frederick Douglass: “What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?”

Frederick Douglass was not only a world-renowned abolitionist, speaker, and author; he was also a licensed minister whose Christian convictions shaped his bold opposition to slavery. In his 1852 speech and in the appendix to his autobiography, Douglass exposed the wide gap between the pure Christianity of Jesus Christ and the hypocritical Christianity used to defend slavery in America.

In this episode, we examine Frederick Douglass and the Fourth of July, What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July, and the biblical call to reject oppression, hypocrisy, and false religion. We also reflect on the sobering truth behind the phrase “not 250, but 161”: while America may celebrate 250 years of national independence in 2026, descendants of enslaved African Americans can only point to 161 years of legal freedom at best, beginning with the adoption of the 13th Amendment in 1865.

Together, we consider Douglass’s Christian perspective, his critique of slaveholding religion, and his conviction that the true Gospel of Jesus Christ could never support the buying, selling, or oppression of human beings.

Husbands, God has called us to love our wives with a love that reflects the love of Christ. In Ephesians 5, husbands are commanded to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her. That kind of love is patient, kind, forgiving, sacrificial, and committed to peace.

Happy Father's Day to all fathers and father figures. Today we honor the men who have loved, guided, protected, provided for, and cared for the families entrusted to them. While there is no perfect manual for fatherhood, Jesus gave us a powerful example in the parable of the Prodigal Son.

In the book of Joshua, God instructed the Israelites to set up twelve stones after crossing the Jordan River. The stones served as a memorial so that when future generations asked about them, parents could explain how the Lord had brought His people safely through the waters (Joshua 4:1–9).

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to represent Him in every interaction. Whether we are sharing the gospel with non-believers or encouraging fellow believers, our words and actions reflect the God we serve.

Mother Mary Elizabeth Lange arrived in Baltimore from Haiti by way of Cuba in 1813, a free woman of color determined to serve others. Her mission began with education, but her faith-driven commitment to justice reached far beyond the classroom.

At a time when most Black people in America were still enslaved, Lange worked courageously to provide opportunity and dignity to those denied both. She uplifted orphans, widows, the sick, the poor, and the marginalized, rising above the obstacles she faced as an immigrant and a Black woman in early 19th-century America.

Recognizing that Black women were excluded from recognized ministry roles within the Catholic Church, she founded the Oblate Sisters of Providence in 1829 — the first sustained religious order for women of African descent in the United States. In the 19th century, the sisters’ schools and ministries spread into states such as Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Kansas, Missouri, and Washington, D.C.

Today, the order continues its work in Maryland (Baltimore), Florida (Miami), and New York (Buffalo), as well as overseas in Costa Rica (Alajuela and Siquirres). The sisters’ ongoing ministries reflect Lange’s vision of education, service, and Gospel-centered justice.

Although Jarena Lee, an African American woman, was born free during a time when slavery defined the nation, her life journey was anything but easy. Her story is a powerful chapter in Black Christian history and offers much to learn from this courageous pioneer of faith.

Recognized as the first woman authorized to preach in the African Methodist Episcopal Church—and later posthumously ordained as an elder—Jarena Lee also became the first African American woman to publish an autobiography. A self-taught scholar and preacher, she faced relentless opposition because of both her race and her gender. Even after convincing church leaders that her call to preach was genuine, her challenges did not cease.

Lee traveled long distances—often on foot—and delivered hundreds of sermons each year. She preached wherever doors opened: churches, homes, schools, courthouses, revivals, camp meetings, prayer gatherings, and even steamships. Her life reflects the cultural struggles of her era and the unwavering conviction that when God calls, obedience must follow.

Join us as we explore the faith, perseverance, and theology of Jarena Lee—an enduring voice in Black Church history whose legacy still speaks today.

“Why can’t we have our own church?” That question stood at the heart of a painful and defining moment in American church history. Reverend Richard Allen and other African American worshippers at St. George’s Methodist Church in Philadelphia were forced to confront discrimination when they were manhandled and ordered to sit in a newly established segregated section during worship. Rather than accept humiliation, they walked out.

From that courageous decision grew a movement that would shape generations. Richard Allen would go on to help found what became the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church, creating a place where Black believers could worship freely, lead boldly, and serve God without discrimination.

Today, many of us worship in churches built on the sacrifices of those who refused to accept injustice. This episode explores the faith, courage, and leadership of Bishop Richard Allen — and challenges us not to take for granted the spiritual freedoms we now enjoy.

Have you ever noticed that in a race, everyone is running as hard as they can — yet only those at the front are applauded? In life, it can feel the same way. Effort often goes unseen, and faithfulness can feel unnoticed. But God sees every step.

Scripture reminds us, “Let us not grow weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). When we follow Jesus and commit ourselves to doing what is right, even when it’s difficult, we can trust that He notices and cares.

You may not hear applause from the crowd — but heaven is watching, and God promises a reward for those who remain faithful. There are moments in life when we desperately need to hear from God. Scripture gives us a powerful promise: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). God is not distant or unwilling—He invites us into deeper fellowship with Him.

Drawing near to God requires turning away from the distractions of the world and allowing our love for Him to fill our hearts. As we grow closer to Him, it becomes easier to hear His voice, follow His will, and walk in obedience.

After the Children of Israel were delivered from slavery in Egypt, God faithfully provided for them in the wilderness by sending manna from heaven each morning (Exodus 16). It was a daily miracle—simple, sufficient, and freely given. Yet over time, they began to complain, growing dissatisfied with God’s provision and even longing to return to slavery for what they believed was better food.

In much the same way, when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, God blesses us daily in ways both seen and unseen. Still, like the Israelites, we can become so familiar with His blessings that we overlook them—or worse, complain instead of giving thanks. This episode challenges us to ask an important question: What is the “manna” God is providing in our lives today?

The Bible passage found in Mark 4:35–41 tells the powerful story of Jesus calming the storm. Even though Jesus was in the boat with them, His disciples were overcome with fear as the waves threatened their lives. In the same way, we often panic in the storms of life—even when the Lord is right beside us. This episode reminds us that Jesus is always with us, no matter how fierce the storm may be. He is ready to save, ready to speak peace, and ready to make all things right. Our part is to trust Him. Every year we celebrate the First Christmas—the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem as the suffering Servant. But Scripture points us to an even greater day ahead: the Second Christmas, when Jesus returns as the conquering King to gather His Church and usher us into eternal glory. The Bible promises that the Lord will descend with a shout, the dead in Christ will rise, and those who remain will be caught up together with Him (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17). While we rightly celebrate Christ’s birth at Christmas—and honor Him every day—our hearts and eyes must remain fixed on His glorious return. Jesus said that the greatest commandment is that we love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength; and that the second greatest commandment is that we love our neighbors as we love ourselves. The problem is that some of us do not love ourselves enough. We let other people use and abuse us. On the other hand, some of us love ourselves too much. We use and abuse other people. What is the correct balance of love that we should have for ourselves in order to love our neighbors, our brothers and sisters in a manner that God wants us to love them. Come along with us as we study the Bible to answer this question.

The greatest commandment is to love God with our heart, soul, mind, and strength. The second greatest commandment is that we love our neighbors, our brothers and sisters as we love ourselves. We find it easy to love God. He gives us every reason to do so, but our neighbors, our brothers and sisters, are a different story. Too often they give us every reason not to love them. But Jesus does not give us a choice. We are commanded to love them as we love ourselves. Let us admit that we need help. Come with us as we dig deeply into the scripture to remind ourselves of the reasons we should obey the second greatest commandment to love our neighbors, our brothers and sisters as ourselves.

Do you love God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength? If God were to rate your love on a scale from 1 to 5, what score would He give? Jesus said that the greatest commandment is that we love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. That does not mean that we love Him sometimes. We are to love Him at all times - when times are great and when we are going through our trials and tribulations. He is always with us and nothing can separate us from His great love. Are we returning that love or are we coming up short?

In this episode, we encourage all believers to hold firmly to their anchor in Christ Jesus. Our primary scripture text is Romans 8:38-39. We learn from that scripture that absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus. The Apostle Paul appears to be the king of trials. Despite all the trials that he went through, he knew that he always stood safely on the rock of Jesus Christ. No matter whether you are currently in the middle of a trial, coming out of a trial, or going into a trial, you can and will succeed with Jesus.

Can we all agree that no good comes out of our anger? We are commanded to love God with all of our heart, soul, and mind; and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We are also called upon to love our enemies and forgive them. Yet, our anger too often gets the best of us and makes us poor witnesses for Jesus Christ. Can we agree that we need help to control our anger and that our only help is in Christ Jesus? Come study with us as we examine the verses that lead the way to a peaceful (and not angry) life.

Think back to when you were young. If you were like most of us, you spent much time doing bad things, also. Yet, Jesus saved you and you are striving everyday to please Him. It is amazing that so-called intelligent people do not believe in God. God has written his signature on everything that he created from the spectacular infinite universe to our very bodies. Nonbelievers conclude that everything we perceive, including ourselves, simply created itself out of a big bang that apparently caused itself, came all of the order that we see on earth and in the universe. When we do this we reflect God’s own mercy. Our own forgiveness from God is tied to our willingness to forgive others. The parable of the unforgiving servant warns us about the consequences of holding onto unforgiveness. When we walk in obedience, forgive, and strive to love our enemies God will hear and answer our prayers.

No matter what happens in our lives, we must always remember that God is in control. The good things, the bad things, whatever occurs - God is still in control. We must trust him and seek his presence and guidance. He will bring us peace in all situations. This he has promised, and God keeps his promises! We need not have any fears or worries. We serve a loving God who has already lovingly written the end of our story here, which is the beginning of our eternal life with him.

In Psalm 90:12, we ask God to teach us to number our days as this will give us wisdom. Most of us have performance plans on our jobs. Those are the goals that we must accomplish for our annual evaluations. What performance plan have we set for ourselves for the day when we will be evaluated by Jesus? We all know that we cannot say how much time we have, so we should be very intentional about doing what Jesus calls for us to do. What are your goals? Join us as we seek to deepen our relationship with Jesus and make our walk more purposeful.

Each of us must learn how to seek and listen to the voice of the indwelling Spirit to assist us in our daily lives. God said at Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Jesus told us at John 14:15-17 that he was going to send the Holy Spirit who will guide us into all truth.This episode will teach you how to tune your heart to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. The result will be a deeper and closer relationship with God through prayer, scripture, and obedience to the direction of the Holy Spirit. This week we bring you an episode on the life and ministry of Amanda Berry Smith, a remarkable 19th century evangelist, missionary, and advocate for holiness. She was born into slavery in 1837. She overcame incredible obstacles to become a powerful voice for Christ, preaching across the United States, Europe, India and Africa. She started a home for destitute and abandoned African American children in Harvey, Illinois. Before departing this life she wrote an amazing autobiography detailing her experiences and travels around the world preaching for the Lord. Thus she made a lasting impact on the Christian world.

It was led by Pastor William J. Seymour, a Black Holiness preacher. This early 20th century movement in Los Angeles is heralded by many as the birthplace of the global Pentecostal Movement. Despite racial and social barriers, the Azusa Street Revival brought together people of all races, nationalities, and backgrounds in a powerful display of unity, worship, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. She was designated one of the 100 most significant Americans of all time by the Smithsonian Magazine in 2014. We present the amazing account of her life as an itinerant preacher, abolitionist, and women’s rights and temperance activist in this episode.

Mothers are special in the sight of God. If they live to please Him and obey God, they have His favor. He provides for them and their children even when it looks like to them and to everyone else that they have nothing left to survive on.

How can you know if you are really saved? The Bible states in numerous places that many will seek entry into Heaven, but Jesus would tell them, “Go away! I do not know you.” These are apparently people who mistakenly thought they were saved. The Bible also assures us that we can tell if we are saved.

The Bible clearly describes Hell as the destination for all of those who do not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It is a place of eternal suffering and judgment. Jesus said, “There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!” God loves you and does not want you to go to Hell. It is your choice! Listen and learn how Hell can be avoided.

Because of God’s love, he gives us mercy and grace. Mercy and grace are like food and water to our soul. Simply stated, we cannot exist without them. What is the difference between the two? We answer that question in this podcast. Listen and grow closer to God!

God has demonstrated his love for us through creation and by sending his son to die for our salvation. He loves the entire world, yet he also loves each of us personally. Through his unceasing love, he cares for us. There is indeed no greater love!

God is always with us. We do not have to write, email, text or call his iPhone to communicate with him. We do not have to make appointments or wait in line to see God. We just have to acknowledge His presence. Thank you, God, for always being with us in times of trouble.

Resurrection Sunday, or Easter, is celebrated as the day that Jesus rose from the dead. Because he rose from the dead, he has promised that we also will rise from the dead and live eternally in Heaven. Let’s learn about that great promise!

Did you know that one of the three most important dates in history was the day that Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross? That is the day that Jesus stepped forward to take our punishment for all the wrong things that we have done in our lives. He suffered, bled and died in our place so that we might have eternal life if we accept him as our Lord and Savior. Today we are going to talk about that first Good Friday.

God is all-powerful. What does that mean to each of us? God’s power gives him control of the entire universe and every second of our individual lives. God can do everything. He has promised to use his power to bless us in this life and eternally in heaven. He is a promise keeper, and he has the power to keep those promises forever.

God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and present everywhere. Today we talk about the blessings that we receive because God knows everything. We have no secrets from God, yet he still loves us! He still blesses us! That is good news.

What exactly does it mean to “walk by faith and not by sight?” What are some biblical examples? We must be reminded that we cannot depend on what we see. Our hope is built on nothing less than the blood of Jesus and his righteousness.

Our goal to accomplish the assignment given us by God is often frustrated by the unnecessary weights that we pick up and the sins that we commit. Listen as we discuss how to put those weights and sins aside in order for us to successfully run our race and hear Jesus say “Well done my good and faithful servant!”

You can pray with confidence, knowing that God will hear and answer your every prayer. God has promised to do that. Jesus said to ask and it shall be given, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be open! You can have faith and confidence in this. Let’s talk about it.

When you are saved, you get a brand-new start in life. The Holy Spirit comes to live inside you. This program discusses the importance of getting baptized, beginning to study God’s Word, regular prayer as often as possible, joining a Bible-teaching church where you fellowship with other believers, sharing your blessing and new faith with nonbelievers so they can get blessed, and getting to work helping others. Jesus said God’s Word tells us to love God, and to love others the same way we love ourselves.

Sometimes it is difficult to understand what prosperity means for Christians. Does what is written in the Bible really mean that we can have whatever we want or ask God for? Suppose we ask for something, but don’t get what we ask for, what does this mean? God provides for all of our needs. There are many who want to be saved. They want to be born again. They want to become children of God. However, they hold back because they believe it is too complicated. They believe that they are not ready to be saved. They believe that there are too many hoops that they must jump through. We want all of our prayers to be answered. If there is anything that might get in the way of our prayers, we want it fixed. Jesus said that everything is possible for one who believes. What should we do when we face seemingly hopeless situations? There is an old and popular hymn that states, “My hopes are built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.” Jesus is our hope. If we trust him and place our hope in him everything will work out in accordance with his will.

Many classes that we take are graded with a Pass/Fail system. That means we do not receive the regular A through F grades - we either pass or fail. Once we have been saved by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior, we receive a “Pass” to enter Heaven. However, we will still stand before Jesus to be evaluated on how obedient we have been to our calling as Christians. Are you prepared for your final evaluation?

No matter what we are going through or what storms we are facing, God is always with us. He has promised that he will supply all our needs in Christ Jesus. So, whether we have plenty or little, we can rely on God to give us a spirit of contentment.

The Bible says that when we are saved by Christ, we become new creatures. For those of us who are already saved, Hallelujah! Thank you God for saving us from what we used to be!

For those who are not yet saved, it means you have an opportunity to start over. Your past can be forgiven so that all that will matter is your eternal life with Jesus!

Is there a sin so bad that God will not forgive those who commit it? Jesus tells us that if we commit the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, it would not be forgiven in this world or the next? What is that sin and why is it so terrible?

The Bible states in 1 John 1:8, that if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves. Then why does the same book state at 1 John 5:18 “We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin”? Listen as we unravel this Biblical conundrum.

Have you ever stepped on someone's foot or bumped into them by accident and been accused of doing it on purpose? Happens all the time! Sometimes, the cause of these incidents IS NOT the people involved but rather spiritual wickedness in high places.

It seems like on our jobs and everywhere else in life, we do our best to be number one. He who does best, gets the promotion, the position, and the power. As terrible as bullying is, we must all remember that God loves bullies, too. As a matter of fact, many of us adults used to be bullies, and we changed, thank God! We feel our children’s pain when they are bullied at school or in the neighborhood. While we cannot go everywhere with our children, we can arm them with Biblical truths for protection. Listen and learn what we can do as parents.

Winning souls to Christ is the most important duty that we have in our job descriptions as Christians. We are to use the gifts that God has blessed each of us with to witness to nonbelievers. How much fruit have you produced? To those who have received much, much more is required. Listen and learn.

Beware of the company you keep. The godly should not keep company with the ungodly. It has been said that the company you keep is a reflection of who you are. We should witness to the ungodly, but walk with the godly. Listen and learn!

What is the most valuable thing that you own? The ability and privilege to pray. There is nothing more powerful. Your prayers can change the world, and they are everlasting. A prayer, or the opportunity to pray, is a terrible thing to waste! Listen and learn.

Our primary goal in the world and in the Body of Christ must be one and the same – to be all that we can be! The only way that we can do that is by being saved and giving ourselves completely to God. Romans 12:1 instructs how that is done. “Brothers and sisters, God has shown you his mercy. So I am asking you to offer up your bodies to him while you are still alive. Your bodies are a holy sacrifice that is pleasing to God. When you offer your bodies to God, you are worshiping him.”

Everything works together for the good of those who are saved, and under the protection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Everything? Yes, everything! We are all here but for a moment, but we will be in Heaven for all eternity. That is the reason why all things work together for our good. Please listen and learn!

As hard as it is to forgive other people for wrongs they have done against us, it is often harder to forgive ourselves for wrongs that we have done in the past. Yet, because we are saved, and because we have repented, Jesus has forgiven us. That settles it! We must forget those things that we have done and press forward to a life that is closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Fathers deserve respect and love every day. Learn how fathers who care for their children when the fathers are young are blessed with children who care for them when the fathers are old. A godly father is blessed by his family, community and the Lord.

Things aren't going so well? Do you seem to be surrounded by trials and struggles? The truth is, that you are still abundantly blessed! God loves you and is showering you with blessings right now. Listen as we count our blessings!

The words to a popular song go, “Please be patient with me. God’s not

through with me yet!” That is so true for each of us. Each of us, as a

child of God, is a “work in progress.” We are not what we want to be,
