Him and his team at ICD have worked with numerous multinational brands of repute and have produced award winning work over the years. Check out their website linked below to get a flavour.
Our conversation goes far beyond design—touching on existential questions like Who really runs the world? We discuss the intricate relationships between art, design, and craft, and Itu shares his powerful insights into how technology and AI are reshaping our lives and future.

I don’t know if you also feel it, but there seems to be an air of anxiety around health. People seem to be more worried about their health than ever before.
‘aaj kal kisi ko bhi kuch bhi ho raha hai’, - We hear this phrase way too often these days, especially when we hear the news of someone passing due to a sudden cardiac failure, or stroke, and the scariest of all - Cancer. Young, healthy looking folks with apparently good habits are being diagnosed with conditions that were unheard of. Regular folks who work long hours in stressful jobs, don’t workout, and have more failure than success in all their attempts to eat healthy - invariably suffer from a bunch of metabolic diseases. But even the apparently fit ones, the likes of endurance athletes are also developing cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes and in worst of cases collapsing at races. It’s not only shocking but also very sad.
But then bulk of these conditions don’t develop overnight. They are a result of a bunch of things being done wrong over a long period of time and that onset of a disease begins long before it starts screaming for attention.
I’m a great believer in testing and early detection which is why I’ve done two episodes with youwecan foundation on breast cancer, one with Madhur daga on heart health - both emphasising on getting tested instead of living in darkness.
Are there any tests we can get done to know diseases that we’re prone to before they become serious? There is a startup in Gurgaon that collects not blood sample, but your biological samples, runs them through a bunch of algorithms, and comes up with disease prediction upto 10 years in advance. And they also give personalised recommendations on what you need to do in order to alter that destiny.
Welcome to Episode 51. This conversation is with Sushant kumar, who’s the founder and CEO of genefitletics, the startup that I just talked about. This is a super informative conversation that’ll blow your mind about the extent to which your microbiome affects every aspect of your health. We also discussed how it’s not just the gut microbiome but also the oral microbiome that plays a crucial role in keeping us healthy or sick. This episode is a master class in microbiome.
Listen carefully, make notes, do your own research and if you have any questions, feel free to connect with Sushant and know more.

Welcome back to the show!
When we’re young, let’s say in our early 20s, we barely ever think about age, or how we want to be when we enter old age.
But what is old age anyway?
In fact what is being young?
Today’s guest is 71 years. She is a runner who has run marathons across the world including the likes of Antarctica marathon, The Great Wall of china marathon, the Sacramento marathon, Everest base camp marathon, Kilimanjaro Marathon any many more such exotic races.
When she used to run competitively, she used to regularly grab podiums at events of repute such as the Tata Mumbai Marathon which earlier used to be SCMM. In fact she had a hat-trick of winning gold medals at the Mumbai marathon in 50+ and 60+ age categories and she has even represented India in the masters category. So she’s an International sportsperson.
A quick side note, she has also been a coach and she even coached an elite athlete named Rigzin Angmo who went on to win Delhi Rath marathon, clocking her career best of 2hours 45 minutes and 8 seconds.
Mala is also a Trekker, mountaineer, Skier, a Yoga practitioner and coach, and she even loves Karate.
She has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Sitidhar, Stok Kangri, Siachin Glacier and many more.
And as if all this wasn’t challenging enough, in 2015, she set off to climb the mighty Mount Everest. At the ripe age of 62, she managed training, funding, and summoned the will to get to the top of the world. She was at the basecamp, and the one of the most devastating earthquakes ever hit Nepal and the entire expedition had to be called off. Nepal’s devastation was visible in many viral videos, and later in Netflix documentaries, but what about shattered dreams?
Sapne jab tootte hain toh aawaz hoti hai kya?
Jo devastation dil-o-dimag mein hoti hai, wo kitni badi hai, wo toh na kisiko nazar aati hai, our na dikhayi ja sakti hai.
But, Mala Honnatti doesn’t let anything that happens to her, define her. She keeps marching forward with her calling which is adventures and outdoors. And today, she’s the founder of Maho Adventures which organises Treks to some of the most beautiful places in the country, making outdoors and adventures more accessible to all.
It’s not her achievements, it’s the life she has lived that ’s incredibly inspiring. All that you’ve heard so far will blow your mind when you hear about the background she comes from, the hurdles she has had to overcome.
Nothing about her life is conventional, and yet, she sounds like it’s no big deal.
Without further ado, let’s get to know this adventurous, daring and beautiful person. Here’s Mala Honnatti and me in the Find your Ultra Podcast. Indulge away.

This episode has one of the greatest stories from the world of Mountaineering.
Anurag Maloo is an Indian climber who went on an expedition to climb Mount Annapurna April last year, but an accident happened and he feel into a deep crevasse. Multiple rescue attempts were made but with no luck for 3 days.
So, Anurag was stuck inside of a narrow crevasse, injured from the fall, at an altitude of nearly 6000Meters on one of the deadliest mountains on the planet that has an extremely high fatality rate.
After 3 days and 3 nights, an attempt was made to recover his body, and a team of skilled climbers manage to get inside the crevasse. To their shock and awe, Anurag was still breathing. That set off a race against time. A race to save his life.
An entire community of people from 60 countries came together and contributed in different ways to one cause - #bringanuragback
How did this happen? How did he survive? What had exactly happened? How is he now? What has this life changing experience taught him? Not just this, how’s he as a person? What’s his life story? Why does he climb? What’s his life like outside of mountaineering?

Find your ultra podcast episode 46 brings you an overdue installment out our special feature ‘What’s been up’ featuring Biplab Mukherjee. And this time, we called the national champ, Binay Sah over as well.
It’s a short episode so we didn’t go deep into anything. It was a quick catch-up, but even that was enough to bring out some hilarious stories of Binay’s national record of 100 miles at The Hell race, Border ultra last year.
We also spoke about Biplab’s #75hard challenge, and the substantial vitality he has been able to achieve on his Instagram in recent times. We tried to learn the secret formula, his work process and learnings.
This episode is a real chill pill. A break from the usual long and deep conversations. It’s awaiting your indulgence. Enjoy!

Today I’m speaking with Faizi Khan. If you’ve been at running events, I’m sure you would have seen her hosting and anchoring various events and award functions. But if you don’t follow her on social media, I’m pretty sure there are so many things about her that you don’t know.
I was honestly blown away by the volume and variety of work that she has done. Go check out her website, linked below.
Faizi is a speaker, a writer, an author, a runner, a coach and she’s a storyteller, there are just so many aspects to her and even this description I’m pretty sure will not be approved by her as she does not like being boxed. In fact, she’s also written and performed a poem about this on national television (linked below).

Trail running Is very different from Road running. Although it’s still one foot in front of the other, trail running offers a profound connection with nature.
Unlike the predictability of pavements, trails offer dynamic, ever-changing, terrain, turning each step into an adventure.
Beyond physical challenges, it provides a mental escape, a rhythmic meditation of sorts. It’s a holistic experience that not only builds endurance, but also fosters a deep appreciation for the beauty that exists beyond concrete jungles.
But we live in a concrete jungle. That’s the reality. There are no trails here, right?
Well, turns out that’s not true. This city is blessed with some gorgeous trails. We just need to know where they are, and how to safely navigate them.
Welcome to episode 43. Today, we’re hearing from Kshitish Purohit, who’s a tech entrepreneur and a trail runner actively striving to turn Delhi into a trail running Haven. He has co-founded Capital trails, which has become one of the largest trail running communities in India. He’s also the national representative for ITRA, which stands for International trail running association. So, what are the nuances of trail running? what do these guys see when they head out to explore? What are they doing to grow this community. How can we organize races that attract the likes of Killian, Jim Walmsley, and Courtney Duwalter.
It’s a super fun and informative conversation, and so without further ado, let’s dive right in this is Me and Kshitish Purohit in the Find your Ultra podcast, episode 43. Indulge away.

जब भी हम कोई इवेंट register करते हैं, और उसमें participate करते हैं, हमारा पूरा focus होता है उस event से maximum फ़ायदा उठाने का - to make it count. But because we get so engrossed in our own world, we rarely ever think about anybody else - the race organisers, their team, their efforts, for example. Apart from when you didn’t get your photos on time and wanted someone to scream at. We don’t really care about much else. But these guys are artists, they’re craftsmen and sometimes they’re involved in more than just their mandate and put themselves in situations where they can capture the very essence of endurance sport through stories that touch, move and inspire us to toe the start line, yet again.Today’s conversation is with Pushkar, who’s the founder of Bawray Banjarey, a beautiful community on Instagram, give it a follow for some enriching content. If you’ve run an ultramarathon, there’s a high likelihood that you would have seen Pushkar with a camera capturing running stories of triumph and misery in equal measure. This conversation captures Pushkar’s personal journey in great detail, and we touch upon a few conversations around running as well.A quick word of Caution: In some places, we may have used language that maybe considered inappropriate by some, so viewer discretion is advised. And so without further ado, here’s Pushkar and me in the Find your ultra podcast, episode 42. आनंद लीजिए!Follow Bawray Banjare on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/bawraybanjarayFollow the hosthttps://www.instagram.com/ultravipin#newepisode #episode42 #podcast #storyteller #photographer #ultramarathons #bawraybanjaray #loveforstories #artists #runningstories #migrant #personaljourneys
Welcome back to the show!
You’ve tuned into Episode 41 which is a conversation with a former Ad-man.
In my view, advertising folks are some of the smartest people around. They’re keen students of human behavior, they always have a finger on the pulse of culture and they consistently demonstrate a unique blend of intelligence, innovation and adaptability.
If you’ve been exposed to the world of advertising agencies, you’d know exactly what I’m talking about.
Today’s guest though, is not just a student of human behavior but also of a student of life, and I guarantee you’ll fall in love with his poetic expression.
In this conversation, we discuss his adventures in Bharat Darshan to his profound love for Hindustani poetry, technology, the intricate dynamics of social media, and the looming threats and opportunities of Artificial intelligence.
But here's the real kicker – if you stick around till the end, you might just discover the key to finding your 'ultra' in the most unconventional words. It's a journey filled with insights, laughter, and numerous TIL moments.

Today’s guest is someone who was going to be the first guest on The Find Your Ultra Podcast. But when we started recording in December last year, he was already on his annual ritual of his month-long Vipassana meditation Retreat.
I’m talking about Madhur Daga, better known on instagram as The DagaSaga. Madhur is the Managing director of a 700-crore company. He’s an amateur endurance athlete, who can be seen pounding the pavement on the roads around central Delhi in the early hours of the day. Madhur has finished numerous marathons and half marathons, an Ironman 70.3, and the world’s highest ultra marathon - The Khardungla challenge.
For me, what’s most inspiring is to see him rise early and be out there hustling every single day, and also to see his discipline when it comes to nutrition, as he shared all of this on his instagram.
But recently, something shocking happened. Despite living most aspects of his life by the book, Madhur was recently diagnosed with a heart condition. Him, and all his well-wishers including me, were in a state of disbelief. But Madhur decided to turn this life event into a period of learning. He worked with the best of doctors, he educated himself about his condition, and a lot more. He’s now on a mission to educate people about heart health, and believes that if he shares this knowledge, lives can be saved.
This message is super important and so we’ve divided this episode Into two sections - Section 01 is where we talk about heart health, and this is the part that I request you to watch watch/listen till the very end.
Section 02 is about - Madhur’s life. All the things that you want to know about the Daga Saga. If you ask me, this is an episode world listening start to end, but again, if you’re pressed for time, please pay attention to section, at the very least.
And so, without further ado, here’s the Daga Saga and Me in the Find Your Ultra podcast episode 40, indulge away!

Nishant came over to Delhi for this conversation and we had a great time getting to know the lesser known aspects of each other’s life experiences. We loved it, and I’m sure you will too.
So, Without further ado, here’s Nishant Bhardwaj and Me and the find your ultra podcast episode 39, indulge away.

Wishing you a very happy new year and a warm welcome to the Find Your Ultra Podcast, the 2024 season! 🧡Let’s begin the year by talking about one of the most important yet most overlooked aspects of our health - ‘Sleep’.Sleep is one of the most essential aspects of our daily life. It’s simple to understand as we all agree that we need sleep, it’s complicated as we disagree on how much we need. It’s complicated as sacrificing on sleep to achieve our goals is even celebrated. It’s complicated as we don’t understand the REAL IMPACT of a night’s sleep loss. Most of us don’t even understand the impact of Chronic sleep loss, which is proven by well documented studies. To tell you a few - Chronic sleep-loss is associated with increased likelihood of Dementia, heart disease, type-2 diabetes, obesity, and even cancers of Prostate, Breast, ovaries and Colon. Some of the detrimental effects of lack of sleep can be felt, experienced by almost everyone - it can affect our ability to perform the simple daily tasks of working or driving. So, if you’re let’s say struggling to lose weight, (which I’ve experienced), the cause could well be related to lack of sleep. No supplements will work, if you’re not sleeping enough. Exercise will have detrimental effects if you’re not sleeping enough.Sleep is the bedrock upon your entire life is built. And which is why we have With us today Chhavi Sahal @theindiansleepcoach who’s a sleep coach, to tell us more about why it’s important, where we’re going wrong, and how we can fix it.Let’s dive right in, this is Chhavi Sahal and Me in the find your ultra podcast episode 36, Indulge away!#FindYourUltra #sleep #sleepcoach #newyear #healthyhabits #masteringsleep
Aakash Nambiar is a barefoot runner from the beautiful state of Kerala.
Aakash is super passionate about traveling and running. He combines the two wherever he goes. He carries his Insta 360 camera, and documents his experiences on instagram, where he can be found by the name ‘barefootmallu’.
Since the pandemic, he has travelled to and worked from numerous places including Kashmir, Manali, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Bangalore, Spain, Portugal and a few more.
And wherever he has been, he has done a few long runs. For examples, he ran from
Abu dhabi to Dubai,
Madrid to Toledo in Spain
Peniche to Lisbon in Portugal
And he has done most of the LLRs that I’ve done. For those who don’t know, LLR stands for Last long run of the year. It’s a tradition we’ve followed for many years. We end the year running from one beautiful city to another and celebrate the year at a beautiful destination but not before we’ve done two back to back ultras distance runs. More on LLRs in a future episode perhaps.
This conversation though is a catchup with Aakash as he just came back from Kashmir, where he did a bunch of runs with the Indian army.
You’ll also hear us talk about Vaughan town- a program we’ve both done, if you haven’t heard of it, it’s a super interesting concept you should look forward to learning about.
And last but not the least, you’ll also hear us discuss our individual experiences of running on foreign soil.
Without further ado, let’s hear from the man himself. Here’s Aakash Nambiar and Me In the find your ultra podcast episode 35. Indulge away!
Today’s guest barely needs an introduction as she’s been out and about in the fitness scene over over a decade. A Successful Entrepreneur, a marathoner, a community leader, a role model for many, and she’s a mother to her two beautiful dogs.
I’m talking about Reeti Sahai. Reeti is the first and as far as we know the only woman from Uttarakhand to run all the world major marathons and to have earned the coveted six star medal.
She’s also an endurance cyclist, a yogini, a mountaineer, and a certified functional trainer.
But, it’s not just her experience and running abilities that she’s adored for, but for her ability to make human connections, inspire people, build communities, and for always doing whatever she can to help our 4 legged friends.
Over the last few years, Reeti has built a vibrant community called ‘Run With Reeti’ that has active folks who gather multiple times a week, at multiple locations over Delhi/NCR to run, and to run, to become better athletes, and celebrate the joy endurance sports has to offer!
In this conversation we spoke about her early life, her motivations, her love for animals, why she loves climbing and outdoors so much, and what keeps her coming back to this brutal sport of running marathons. Stick around till the end, my friends, you’re in for a treat. This is Reeti Sahai and Me in the find your ultra podcast episode 34. Indulge away!

Episode 31 brings you a conversation with my long time friend Tarun Walecha.
Tarun holds a degree in architecture from Manipal institute of Technology, and a Post graduate diploma in Environment planning and a project management course from IIT
Tarun is a seasoned runner who’s been running for nearly a decade and a half and has built a couple of amazing communities of fitness lovers by the name ‘Runextreme’ and ‘Fit with T’. He has also written numerous blogs on running, fitness and architecture.
But in this conversation you’ll barely hear about any of these. My goal with this conversation was to get to know him as a person, the way he navigates his relationships - especially fatherhood, we talk about the wisdom that he shares with young children during his talks at various schools and on a few occasions, I push him to reflect and go deeper into places one usually doesn’t often visit, especially not on a public platform.
This conversation is about relationships, it’s about life lessons, it’s about love. In essence, this conversation is about a beautiful life journey with all it’s ups and downs.

Since I’ve been exposed to the health and fitness scene over the last few years, I find myself paying close attention to everything I see during my visit to a hospital, which is often to see someone known to me.
I’ve noticed If we set aside genetic conditions, and accidents, pretty much everything else is life-style related in some manner or the other.
Even if lifestyle doesn’t directly control the onset of a disease, or doesn’t directly have the power to fix it, it certainly has the power to make it better or worse in most cases.
We can’t change the world we live in, but we can certainly take time to develop a deeper understanding of the risks that come with our modern lifestyles and the diseases they bring with them.
Welcome to episode 30.
We’re meeting Dr Trishala Chopra, who specializes in the management of lifestyle diseases such as Diabetes, PCOS, Cardiovascular diseases, Sleep disorders, Gut health, and Obesity.
Dr Trishala is also the founder of The health Medic, which is a practice based out of mumbai. She has over a decade of experience in reversing a lot of these conditions and she speaks passionately about the need to not just treat but prevent them in the first place.
And so without further ado, I present to you an engaging conversation that explains these multi-layered problems in simple words. Here’s Dr Trishala and Me in the find your ultra podcast episode 30.

Human body is a masterpiece crafted by nature over millions of years, equipped with a remarkable and intricate system of muscles, joints, and bones all designed to work in harmony for one fundamental purpose - Movement. But In our fast-paced, technology-driven world, It's no secret that our sedentary lifestyles have become the norm. Many of us spend hours each day sitting at desks, hunched over screens, or commuting in vehicles that whisk us away with minimal effort on our part. We've become prisoners of convenience, and our bodies are paying the price. But, There's hope, and it lies in understanding the marvel of our bodies and making intentional choices to regain our movement capacity. Which is exactly what today’s episode is about.Welcome to episode 29.in this episode I speak with Dr D.M.Manoj who has over 22 years of experience as a physiotherapist in the field of musculoskeletal and sports injuries. Second installment of our catch-up series where we share life updates, our own fitness (or the lack of it) updates, and life in general.
We also dive in to some of the updates from the Indian ultra running scene including the national team announced by the Athletics Federation of India for 24-hour world championships later this year. We discuss selection of some of our friends, and some race specifics before talking about the recently concluded running festival in Ladakh - The Ladakh Marathon and give shout outs to some of our friends.
Do let us know how you like the episode, and what more you'd like us to discuss in this series.
Sometimes, some people come into your life in the most unexpected ways and they have a remarkably positive impact on you.Keshav is a friend of mine who helped me conceive this podcast that you listen to and you’ve told me that you like.He was the one who helped me narrow down my thoughts, come up with a specific idea that I could begin with. He also taught me the softwares, the editing - everything. But more than that, he kept pushing me to make this happen, he ensured I kept moving forward even when I doubted everything. All that he’s done for me and this podcast was reason enough for me to bring him on and talk to him.But there is a lot more to this person - He is a regular corporate junkie turned a parkour athlete and a coach, he’s a yoga practitioner, and will soon be a teacher, he has his own podcast called moving forests, he also has a couple of businesses including an content consulting business, and he’s also a filmmaker - he does ad films, he does documentary films, and just worth a quick mention he’s a part of history. He was a part of the team that made the documentary - The elephant whisperers, the one that brought home the oscar, and he was recently invited along with the film’s team for a special screening at the Rashtrapati Bhawan by the president of India. He likes to downplay everything he does, which is also a quality I admire sometimes, but there’s so much about him that I want to know because his experiences are diverse and rich.We agreed to record this podcast to capture his super fresh 10-day vipassana meditation experience in Rajasthan. But we went with the flow, took detours, pulled new threads and had a great time doing that. I hope you’ll stick around till this end of this special episode, and so without further ado, here’s Keshav Sharma and Me in the Find your ultra podcast Episode 27. Welcome to episode 26.
At the beginning of this year, I promised my friend and podcast mentor Keshav that I will just focus on releasing 52 episodes in this year, do as good a job as I’m capable of doing with those, and until we’ve done the amount of work, I will keep out that negative voice in my head telling me that I’m doing a shitty job, or that I’m wasting people’s time, or this isn’t up to the mark etc etc, that voice can get pretty ugly pretty soon.
I had promised to let that voice have no say until we’ve released 52 episodes and then evaluate and see where we want to go from there.
The release of Episode 26 means, we’re half way there. And I can’t help but think what an amazing journey this has already been. It’s allowed me the opportunity to sit with some remarkable humans who were generous enough to give me their time, and a peak into their minds. It has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done.
Speaking of remarkable humans, I’m delighted to present to you a conversation with Mohit Oberoi, who’s a climber, a runner, a triathlete, an open water swimmer, an author, a teacher, and an entrepreneur.
He likes to live mostly off the grid so you many not have heard of him, but I can tell you he’s from our own tribe, and started paying these sports way before we had even heard of them. Consider this, he ran his first half marathon on 1985. I was born in 84. So, he’s super senior but he’s all of 54 and kicking ass as he’s out trekking even right now as I release this episode.
Just give you an idea of what he’s been up to, Mohit was among the first lot of climbers from India. He pretty much was among the very first people who started building a climbing culture in northern India, and he even wrote a book - A guide to rock climbing in and around Delhi. He’s climbed multiple well known and challenging peaks, and I’ve seen some Indian climbers refer to him as nothing short of a legend, when it comes to Indian climbing scene.
He then fell in love with long distance running - he ran a few ultra marathons, a few trail walks, and as recently as last month, he did a 600-650km long self-supported trail walk lasting 38 days, charting out a massive combination of 13 trails that can be done by anyone as one, or 13 individual trails with their own entry and exit points. This, along with a few FKTs are all work in progress.
In between he also fell in love with triathlons, and went on to become among the first few Ironmen From India.
Mo’s also an open water ultra distance swimmers, he has done numerous sea swims, and among those features the most sought after - the English Channel swim as a part of a relay team.
If this intro feels long, wait until you hear the richness, the variety and the depth of his experiences. I was honestly captivated, and blown away by some of these stories around each of these experiences and the honesty and humility with which he narrates them. They will give you a peak into what it feels like when you do things for the purpose love of them, and for nothing else.
And at 2 hours in, we dive into some of his personal life, family, raising kids, business etc.
It’s a wholesome conversation that I truly believe you should listen to right till the very end.
And so without further ado, I bring to you another life story that I promise will leave you inspired to follow your heart, head outdoors, and be one with the nature! This is me and Mo Oberoi in the find your ultra podcast episode 26, Indulge away!

Episode 24 ladies and gentlemen.
You’re about to listen to a Spanish guy in his 50s living in India for over two decades. Isn’t that interesting already? I can’t wait!
He has not only embraced the Indian culture and food but also the potholes of Delhi roads, the ridiculous AQIs and sweltering heat of Delhi, - all for the love of running.
We’re talking about Alfredo Miranda, popularly knowns as Alfie, in the running circuit.
Alfredo is an engineer by profession, he loves to solve problems, he loves to get technical about stuff, and believes in finding solutions rather than complaining about stuff.
Alfie is also a running coach and a mentor to many runners across India. He keeps sharing training plans, and writes articles that answer some of the questions new and experienced runners have about training, improving, raising your game.
If you’re familiar with the Indian ultra running circuit, you would have definilty heard if Meenal Kotak, Apoorva Chikara, and Kanan Jain. All of these torchbearers of Indian long distance running scene have raised their game from being average to extraordinary and represented India at the highest Level.
We’ve heard the story of Kanan’s and Apoorvas journey on the show, we will now get the coach’s perspective on that, and that’ll sort 0f close the loop of how ordinary folks with unwavering faith and resolve can pursue and achieve greatness.
In this conversation we talked about his early years, his transition to India, the cultural adjustments, his early days of running, his race experiences, his running Mantras, and a peak into how he makes a strategy for executing a good 24 hour race. This can be a very specific takeaway of principals that you can use to plan a race of any ultra distance.
This wide-ranging conversation has everything from stories, to Strategies, to humor, to life lessons.
I loved it, and I have no doubt you will too, and if you do, please follow the podcast on Spotify or wherever you’re listening to this, and share it with whoever you can share it with, it helps much more, much much more, than you think it does. Will you do it now? Also, rate the podcast.
And so without further ado, I bring you another conversation rich in human connection, this time across continents. Here’s Alfredo Miranda and Me and the find your ultra podcast episode 24, Indulge away!
Hello and welcome to Episode 23
Today we’re talking about Money.
I think the biggest catastrophe of our times was that our parents, I mean Indian parents in particular advised us to save. Save Save Save.
Saving doesn’t appeal to many people because sounds so defensive, One day you might need it.
Investing on the other hand has a hold different ring to it. It’s a game. It has a purpose, it’s a skill, there’s something to learn, get better at, and master. This gamification makes it exciting and there’s something to be won.
Saving doesn’t have any of this - the only thing saving evokes is - don’t spend it today, because you might need it one day. Which translates into Sacrifice your today, in fear of some imaginary doomsday.
The difference I believe lies in the emotion, I believe.
But our parents did the best they could given the limited knowledge they had access to. It’s not even been two decades that Mutual funds have become more mainstream, and we now have access to a world of knowledge about personal finance that was simply not publicly available. We now have access to experts who can guide us on what’s the most optimal way to manage our finances and build wealth with minimal risk.
Speaking of experts, we have with us today Divya Mathur Dayal who’s an ex banker turned entrepreneur and an investor.
Dipali had been a banker for over a decade managing portfolios of ultra high net worth individuals, which is where she developed a deep undertsnading of luxury - That along with her flair for fashion and grooming led to the conceptualization of a chain of Luxury Boutique salons - called - Magnifique.
She also started a toxin-free, cruelty free grooming brand aimed at Gen Z, called Super Smelly, Which also won Voted as the product of the year in 2020, and also won the organic beauty award, Australia in 2020 as well.
Dipali herself has won the prestigious Business world 40 under 40 award and is now on to her third venture called ‘Investqueen by Dipali’ where she intends to share investment knowledge for all, but especially she wants to normalize women talking about finance, making investments and becoming truly financially independent - I’ll share the links to all these in the show notes.
Finance is a mighty important subject that we’re all taught very little about, and therefore on the Find your ultra podcast, we will continue to bring on experts to help us fix our financial health. This is the first of many episodes to come in this subject.
Without further ado, let’s dive right in, this is me and Dipali Mathur Dayal in the find your ultra podcast episode 23. Indulge away!

Hello hello hello!
Welcome back! How are you? I love to see you here!
We missed the episode last Friday, which was disastrous coz I Never wanted to EVER miss an episode, but things happen. And we have to learn to embrace them and move on.
Today’s episode is one of the most awaited episodes on this podcast. I’m presenting to you a heart to heart with my dear friend Binay Sah.
Bharat ki running community mein shayad
Half marathon - 1.19.58 Full marathon - 2.46.24 24 hour run - 236.7 100k run - 7.56
He’s absolutely adored by the running community of India, not just for his athletic abilities and achievements which are simply mind boggling, but even more so for his simplicity.
इस conversation में आप सुनेंगे अभी तक कि binay की journey कैसी रही है, क्या मुश्किलें उन्हें आईं, कैसे उनका सामना किया, ये training कैसे करते है, और hopefully this will give you a peek into his mind and the way he uses it.
बिना देर किए पेश है 1 टॉप athlete के साथ बातचीत, this is me and Binay Sah in the find your ultra podcast episode 22. Enjoy!
We all have stories we tell ourselves. We have reasons for why we do, and don’t do things, we try to make sense of the good and bad that happens to us, and we also have narratives for why we can and can’t do things.
We work with stories, our brains like stories and narratives because they help us make sense of the world.
But narratives can go wrong - for one, they’re not always grounded in truth, they tend to ignore the nuances, and complexities that form our world, which is what makes potentially Dangerous.
What about our internal narratives? Do you think they’re all based on objective truth and reality? They’re invariably not.
Some of these internal narratives serve us well. They help us move forward with confidence, but some stories we tell ourselves and beliefs that we strongly hold can be very limiting. They can make us feel small and unworthy, they can restrict our growth and reduce the quality of our lives. And what’s worse, they’re not even true.
They may just be beliefs we formed in our early life and despite having a defining effect on the quality of our life, they’ve just gone unquestioned and unexamined.
David goggins says the conversation that matters the most is the one you have with yourself. So it maters what sorry we’re telling ourselves, and whether that’s helping us or holding us back.
Welcome to Episode 21. Today’s guest is Dr Divya Parashar who’s a clinical and a rehabilitation psychologist with over 20 years of experience helping individuals regain their ability to function at their best. Divya holds a PHD in Rehab psychology from the university of Wisconsin-Madison USA, and masters in applied Clinical psychology from the university of Delhi.
Divya now has her own practice, but until a few years ago she used to head the department of psychology at the Indian Spinal Injuries centre, Vasant Kunj.
I truly believe the key to a better life lies not in better understanding our world, but in better understanding our brains - the softwares and the algorithms that run in our brains, the lenses through which we interpret the world and make sense of what’s going on. - Psychology surely has some of these answers, and which is why we’ve got Dr Divya Parashar, with all her decades of experience with therapy, traveling, and long distance running to explain some of why we do what we do.
It’s a wide ranging conversation covering internal narratives, Anxiety, Addiction, Therapy, Coping mechanisms, and how extremely painful experiences can actually transform, and even heal us.
Let’s go straight to the conversation, this is me and Dr Divya Parashar in the find your ultra podcast episode 21, Indulge away!

On the first day of 2020, I was on a trek with my friends Milind, Ankita, and Sarthak. We had climbed Mount Takao, in Japan and when we got down from the trek, we were amazed to see that People were washing the soles of their shoes with a brush and some running water to ensure they don’t carry the dirt of the trail into the city. We were zapped, and making videos of them doing something that was routine for them but so extraordinary for us.
And just a day before that, we had run a 120 kms from Tokyo to Mount Fuji, and we had all challenged ourselves to find a piece of trash or any instance of littering. But in the entire stretch of 120kms, all 8 of us collectively found 1 candy wrapper on the street. And we all suspected that this must have been thrown by one of us - Indians. I know it’s shameful to think that way, but you know, and you KNOW, it’s quite likely to be one of us.
At home, unfortunately, what ought to be common civic sense isn’t common at all. Here, we can’t walk a 120 meters without seeing litter on the road, let alone kms before seeing trash. Our streets and roads are quite literally, not metaphorically, full of trash. And we all get very angry when we walk by heaps of foul smelling stuff. But who’s throwing it there? It’s not me, and I hope it’s not you. But whether we are or aren’t a part of the problem, there’s something you and I can do to be a part of the solution.
Welcome to episode 17. This conversation is with Ripu Daman Bevli, who’s better known as the plogman of India, or the plogging ambassador of India, which is a title given to him by the government of India for his contribution to the littering crisis in the country and for introducing and popularizing the concept of plogging in India.
What is plogging?
Plogging is a Swedish term which is a combination of two verbs ‘plocca upp’ which means Pick up, and and Jogga (jogging). So picking up litter while jogging is called Plogging.
This is what today’s guest started doing a few years ago, all by himself. A few people joined in, and in less than half a decade it has become a national movement that has touched over a crore people. Think about that number for a second. Mind you this is not a digital service, these are not a crore app downloads, we’re talking of real human beings coming out and picking up trash not thrown by them. How’s that for an impact?
Ripu is now fairly well known and His efforts have won him recognitions such as A global Impact citizen by global impact network, USA. Social media activist of the year by cosmopolitan magazine and a few others. Most notably, at least for all Indians, he was called by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, or as you might prefer - ‘Modiji’ on episode 57 of his radio show ‘Mann Ki baat’.
But wait, how did he land up here? Wasn’t he running the corporate rat race? Where did he get the means? Who taught him, who gave him the money? Spoiler alert: Nobody.
It’s a truly inspiring story of a boy raised by a single mother with limited resources, who has ended up starting a movement that’s capable of changing the conscience of our society at large, and if you listen to this episode to the end, and you decide to do your bit, who knows, our streets might someday be as clean as the ones in Japan.
Sounds great, I know, but Kaafi far fetched lag raha hai na? Sirf mere badalne se kya ho jayega. I feel you. But Ripu’s story will demonstrate to you the magnitude of impact ONE ORDINARY MAN is capable of achieving.
Let’s dive right in. This is me and Ripu Daman Bevli in the find your ultra podcast episode 17, Enjoy!

Welcome to episode 16. This episode is about understanding our digestive health.
There is a whole universe of microorganisms that live within our gut, they feed off the food that we eat and they release a bunch of chemicals that impact pretty much all aspects of our health from digestion, to immunity, to cognitive function, and even affect the way we age.
There seems to be a consensus on the fact that a healthy gut microbiome is the key to a healthy life, and yet we understand so little about it.
In this episode I speak with Dr Ujjwal Sonika who is an associate professor of Gastroenterology at Maulana Azad Medical College. He is also a published author, and one of his books was co-authored with a friend of the podcast Dr Medha Kapoor who you met in episode 02. The book is called Gut bacteria - The secret to health, I’ll link this and his other book in the show notes, you can go check them out.
Through this conversation, I tried to form a surface level understanding of these tiny little dudes and dudettes that live inside of our gut in communities of trillions and have such a massive influence on our health.
We talked about the effects of antibiotics, alcohol, painkillers and numerous other things that affect the microbiome negatively and also some of the ways in which we can improve this.
Even if you’re not interested in this subject, I urge you to develop an interest for this because I believe learning about health isn’t just for coaches and trainers and doctors. It is equally important for you to gain an appreciation of your inner world, because in the end, it is you who makes the all important choices, it is you who executes the plan, it is you who brings about the change.
with the hope that you’ll listen right till the end, I present to you Dr Ujjwal Sonika and me in the Final your ultra podcast episode 16, ENJOY!

I take immense pleasure in welcoming you to episode 15. I’m so happy for you that you’ve tuned in to this one because you’re in for a treat, my friend!
Today you will meet Apoorva Chikara, who until a few years ago was confined to the cubicles of one of the high rises in Gurgaon, and living a life that barely had anything to do with athletics.
But in a dramatic turn of events, she met Kanan Jain who conceived and sold to her, a massive dream of representing India at the pinnacle of ultra running - the world championships.
These two were absolute nobodies in the world of running at the time and yet they had the audacity to pursue a goal that most would not even dare to imagine.
They had one year to train and transform themselves into endurance beasts if they were to harbour any hopes of earning a spot in the national team.
Guess what! They both did it and represented India at the world championships in France,
and not only that, Apoorva made history. She became the first Indian woman to run over 200kms in a 24hour ultra running championship.
Apoorva is also close friend of mine, and so this episode follows no set format, this conversation is a catch-up, it’s a story, this conversation is a biiiig hug to a friend who inspires me and makes me believe that anything is possible.
I could have said ‘impossible is nothing’, but for that adidas’s needs to make me an offer. Insert a cheeky smiley here, please.
This girl is a soft spoken, kind hearted, sunshine loving Dynamite! Get ready to get inspired!

Welcome to Episode 14. Today’s guest is Nakul Butta.
Nakul is a trained engineer who studied nano technology, turned a runner, a running coach and now a fitness entrepreneur.
Nakul founded a vibrant community called All in Running that has now become a lot more than running. According to Nakul, it now offers the most comprehensive, holistic wellness solution in the country.
Nakul himself is a brilliant athlete who has run sub-3 marathons, some ultra marathons, a few with course records and as a coach he has helped numerous runners remarkably up their game over the last 5-6 years. I say this because some of the transformations have actually been of my own close friends, so I’ve been a witness to Nakul’s and All in running’s journey, pretty much from the beginning. You’ll enjoy listening to it.
But this podcast is so much more. I’ve been in the running scene for a decade now and I’m familiar with the conversations, broadly. But I was amazed by the fresh perspective Nakul brings to the table and talks at length about the things that are either never spoken about, or not emphasized enough. Stuff like safety aspects in trail races, Running self supported, Action based community building, Exploring the city’s green spaces safely, he talks about the FKT culture and the work him and his cofounder at Capital trails Kshitish are doing to bring it to India.
Nakul is also a Vegan and a Minimalist, a philosophy that I’m curious about. There’s just so much in this conversation to keep you hooked right till the end.

Welcome to the Find your ultra podcast Episode 12. I hope you’re doing well!
New episodes are meant to come out every Friday, but man life challenges you. Despite best efforts I couldn’t release a new episode. But, here’s your new episode before the week ends.
What you’re about to listen to is a long and insightful conversation between me and Dr Raqib Ali on psychology.
Dr Raqib Ali is a Clinical psychologist and a Psychotherapist. He helps people cope with emotions though counseling and therapy. He runs this own clinic by the name of CUBBE clinics based out of Ghaziabad. CUBBE with a double B.
He also freelances with some hospitals of repute that include the likes of BLK max super speciality, & Apollo Cradle & Children’s hospital.
Besides clinical work, he is an assistant professor who teaches students of psychology at various institutes and universities.
The point is that he is a subject matter expert with a special ability to break down concepts of psychology in simple language that a lay person can understand.
I thought this will be a discussion on mental health, and IT IS. But this discussion ended up becoming a lot richer as we went with the flow and touched upon a wide variety of topics from the origin of psychology to parenting, to the paradox of choice, to small actions we can take everyday to look after our mental health.
The episode is over two hours long, so I recommend listening to it at 1.5x speed.
Without further ado, here’s me and Dr Raqib Ali on Find your ultra podcast episode 12. Enjoy!

Welcome to the find your ultra podcast episode 11.
If you’re a regular listener of this show you already know that I’m deeply interested in the science of Longevity. How can we all live longer, and improve our health spans. Two of the biggest factors that we have under our control to a large extent are Nutrition and Exercise.
According to Dr Peter Attia, someone I follow and admire, Exercise is hands down the best thing we can do to improve our health, offset some of the effects of the environment, prevent or delay the onset of the diseases that kill us.
So I want all my listeners to incorporate exercise into their routine. Now Let’s be honest, Not everyone loves running, not everyone likes the Gym. But fortunately there are alternate ways to stay fit.
In this episode, we speak with AdhirajNeogi who’s a former national level badminton player
He was National Rank #2 in sun-junior doubles, national rank #6 in Singles, and #3 in Juniors Badminton. Adhiraj is also an SRCC, ISB Hyderabad Alumni.
In this conversation, Adhiraj talks about his life journey where he played badminton, got close to the top, why he had to give it up and get into a corporate life where he consulted with the likes of EY and Deloitte, and then how a small incident reignited his love for the sport and led him to found Raquet Ninja.
Adhiraj’s story is a case study itself on how playing a sport can boost the overall quality of one’s life and improve not only physical health but also works wonders for our mental health.
It is time to dive right into this short and insightful conversation. Here’s me and Adhiraj Neogi in the Find your ultra podcast episode 11, indulge away!
Find Your Ultra Podcast episode 10
Inki tagline है - "NOT FOR THE WEAK OF WILL"!
पेश है, find your ultra podcast episode 10, this is me and Vishwas Sindhu. Enjoy!
Today’s guest Is an entrepreneur, an angel investor, an art collector, a metal head, a bird photographer and not the least of all, A runner. This is Munish Jauhar, who’s lived most of his life in Chandigarh.
I loved this conversation. In the first half we talk about all the lesser known aspects of Munish’s life and in the second half we talked about how he has managed to transcend his game from a run of the mill Ultrarunner to someone who has become good enough to qualify for the world’s most iconic ultra marathon - the spartathalon.
We recorded this conversation early march and at that time, he had only met the qualification criteria for sparta. But as of today, the day we’re releasing this interview, his name is in the final lineup. So he will be toeing the start line of this iconic race this year.
Munish’s journey is a confirmation of the fact that if you have the desire and you’re willing to apply yourself, anything is possible. Do listen to this entire episode, if nothing else, I promise it will make you believe in yourself just a little more.
Enough said, let’s go straight to the conversation. This is Me and Munish Jauhar in the Find Your Ultra Podcast episode 09, Enjoy!

Find your ultra podcast ka ye bahot hi important episode hai.
डॉ broota, was perhaps India’s first mental health professional, even if she wasn’t the first, she was definitely one of the first prominent voices in this space.
Dr Broota TV, Radio, Magazines, Newspapers - हर जगह अभी भी mental health के programs करती हैं, इनकाopinion लिया जाता है, और इन्हे बहुत सारी speaking engagements के लिए बुलाया जाता है, and she’s given multiple TED talks.
Find your ultra podcast Episode 08, this is me and Dr Aruna Broota. Indulge away!
Find Your Ultra podcast is going to surprise you a little bit today because we’re bringing this episode to you in Hindi.
As funny as that Jee haan sounds.
He’s perhaps the most good looking chattered accountant you’ll ever see. 😀 Ladies, you might want to head over to his Instagram page right after this.

This is a conversation close to my heart because in this episode I speak with someone I call a close friend, a brother, an inspiration, and someone I can count on. His name is Biplab Mukherjee. I met him in 2017 when I joined a startup he was already working for. We were colleagues who became friends because we share the common love for long distance running.
A part of the reason we connect well is also that we’re at a similar stage in life. Both entering middle age, haven’t made it anywhere in life, still finding our feet, still hustling. And also, I look up to him because he’s just like me, but better. Like in everything whether that’s running, or life in general.
Now moving on from my general admiration to some of the specifics of why you should listen to this episode till the end;
Even if you’re not interesting in running at all, you should listen to this guy because he’s a fighter. When he was laid off from his job during pandemic, he started a youtube channel from scratch, not knowing what it’ll lead to, but he kept hustling and his channel gained immense popularity with over 65000 people subscribing in a short span of time.
He is also a precision nutrition certified nutrition coach. This is your quintessential
regular guy hustling every single day managing Family, running, a full-time job, youtube, and his nutrition coaching practice.
Just in case you’re still not convinced that you should sit through the entire two hours, let me tell you that he’s an excellent storyteller. Stick around till the end, my friends. You’re in for a treat.
