The Virtual Democrat National Convention shed some light on the Democrat’s game plan in the coming weeks - full of lies and innuendos. The riots are getting worse, but the Democrats ignored them. And the Israel-UAE agreement to normalize relations.

Where is Kim Jong-Un? That is the deep mystery of the week. Kim Jong Un is the Supreme Leader of North Korea – the driver of its nuclear ambitions and the potential launcher of deadly missiles aimed at its neighbors – like Japan and South Korea – and even at us. And he’s been MIA for more than two weeks? What’s up with that?

Several major stories connected to the pandemic and how the left is trying to politicize it by blaming every difficulty on what they want us to think is the President’s incompetence. But they can’t fool us. Despite being misled by those who were supposed to provide him with their expertise, Donald Trump has acted in a timely manner and with the power of his office.  Image: AP

Yes, Virginia. It’s Okay to Blame China! Because China is responsible for one of the worst pandemics in history. They created a monster of a virus, they released it (by mistake or on purpose), they hid the local epidemic that resulted, they allowed thousands of Chinese people to leave China and visit the world, and they refused to take responsibility and blamed America.

“It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.” The virus has brought the world to a screeching halt. And as we approach Passover and Easter, the realities of this nightmare are balanced by the hope that our scientists and doctors will use today’s technology to find a test, a cure, and a vaccine to prevent this from happening again.

We are in the middle of a great plague. Life is almost surreal, COVID-19 still has not yet reached its moment of greatest fury – and Americans are still sitting on the cusp. Plagues have been with us since the beginning of recorded history. It’s how we cope with this one that will be the measure of who we are.   Image: AP

Political Intrigue from China, Iran, and Washington -  Panic buying in the midst of a growing pandemic. The news is alarming but it doesn’t justify the panic, at least not here in the U.S.; But in Italy, the situation was different and the entire country was locked down completely. In the U.S., the number of cases has passed the thousand mark, and new recommendations are coming from the CDC to keep us safe.

COVID-19 is likely to be the worst public health crisis since the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918 which killed somewhere between 50-100 million people worldwide. This is largely because there is so much we don’t know about it. But we’re learning, and there are things we can do. This week we’ll talk about what we know and what we can do to keep ourselves and our families, our communities and our country safe and secure.

The Wuhan Coronavirus is on a rampage and we aren’t close to understanding it. The Democratic debate was raucous and the fighting was getting really mean. And what they call suicide, I call MURDER.

Democrat Presidential Candidate Mike Bloomberg insults the entire farming industry with his comments on describing how easy it is to plant, water and ooh-la - crops on demand. We need to take a look back when Radio Icon Paul Harvey elevated farmers and their importance to not only our dinner tables, but the bigger economy. As China continues the losing battle with the virus it created, China’s secrecy has kept critical information from the rest of the world and has put the entire world at risk. And it sounds to me like Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) was carrying out his own foreign policy discussion with a foreign leader - without authorization.

It wasn’t a particularly good week for the Democrats. First there was the impeachment acquittal, and then the fallout from the absolute chaos of the Iowa caucus. The New Hampshire primaries with a Socialist winning the prize. And Virginia’s new gun law. Wow! What a week! Also, we cannot forget the scary coronavirus, which has experts worried, and that cruise ship from hell.

There were three big stories this week  -  the debacle of the Iowa Caucus, the President’s State of the Union speech, and the ongoing story of the Coronavirus. And a sad story about one of our favorite people.

Two big stories this week: The coronavirus called 2019-n-CoV that’s raging in China. It’s a killer! And President Trump’s Middle East Peace Plan – the “Deal of the Century”. And, oh yes, the impeachment that goes on and on. But the Republican defense was awesome!

The Riot That Didn’t Happen and Other Stories - The big story this week was the story about 16,000 Virginia gun owners who converged on the capital in Richmond and didn’t start a riot. But Oh! How the governor and his fellow politicians panicked! Also, the other big stories were the beginning of the Senate’s impeachment trial, and the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. Did you know he was a Republican?  Image: AP

The big story this past week was the dangerous confrontation with Iran after our drones killed their most senior terrorist. It could have led to war – but didn’t. Instead the people of Iran are in the streets throughout the country, fighting for their freedom. And meanwhile the dysfunction in Washington continues to get worse, Hong Kong is strangely silent, Jeopardy! hit a snag, and Austin Texas is in real trouble.

Two major stories hit the news at the beginning of this week: the announcement of the two Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump, and the release of the Horowitz report on the FBI. A lot to talk about. But that’s not all. There is a discussion about new gun laws coming down the pike, and a gun battle in the streets of Jersey City. And the growing importance of Term Limits.  Image: NYT

An inside look at Benjamin Netanyahu – the man behind the indictments – and what it means for Israel and the wider Middle East. Hong Kong elections have turned the tables, and now China must decide what to do next. One nation, two systems will meet new challenges as China comes to grips with Hong Kong’s overwhelming vote for democracy. And Iran turned off the Internet and all the cell phones – in a nation of 80 million people! The “Witch Hunt” in Congress is driving America crazy, and the reports that may contain criminal referrals are getting a lot of people in Washington very nervous. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is not far behind. Iran is rattling its sabers, Hong Kong is becoming a dangerous place and China doesn’t know what to do about it. And Israel took out a dangerous terrorist and now faces the wrath of the PIJ. But there is still the light side with crazy people and crazy cities, and you just can’t make this stuff up!

Events on the border between Turkey and Syria are changing rapidly since President Trump pulled the U.S. troops out of the area. But the changes are not what anyone predicted. The presidential polls are not what they are supposed to be, and the damage they do is disturbing. There is a variable in the dynamics of the U.S.-China trade deal that no one is talking about – but it may spell the difference between either failure and success – and very soon. The President’s speech at the U.N. was Epic! Still, an unidentified whistleblower in an anonymous complaint has attacked the President - again. But the most outrageous attack against him came from a fellow Republican. Israel’s elections and another stalemate. A secret mission for the head of Iran’s elite al Quds force. Followed by Iraqi Shia militias massing on the Iraqi–Syrian/Iraqi-Jordanian borders. Israel and Saudi Arabia carried out joint bombing raids on both. What a week!

Israel spying on U.S.? Not likely. The story didn’t pass the smell test. And Netanyahu says, “War with Hamas is inevitable.” But he may not have won the election? So what now? And what about Iran. The troubles that are brewing in China are now centering around the trade talks and the incipient confrontation in Hong Kong are a recipe for trouble. Debates and Conferences Take Over Prime Time - The big stories of the week revolved around the Democrat debates in Florida and the G20 Conference in Osaka, Japan. As the Democrats sharpened their wits in order to “out-left” their opponents, the President did his best to negotiate his way through the G20 and succeed he did. Meanwhile, Israel discovered a 2,000-year-old tunnel in Jerusalem, and reports of a Russian submarine going down off the coast of Alaska raised fears of new tensions between the U.S. and Russia. All in all, it was another interesting week.

America is now at a crossroads that will spell the future of America for generations to come. Our Congress is dysfunctional, the left is off the rails, and the President is on his own to make the policies that will save the nation. So consumed are the Democrats with their loss of the 2016 election, and the failure of the Mueller Report to find a single crime on which to indict the President, that they have been relegated to wild accusations, based on lies and blather. In the mean time, Hamas has lit the match that may set off a new and bloodier war against Israel than has ever happened before. And because Israel is our strong ally, this will involve America as well. This is a story that hasn’t ended yet.

The attack against a synagogue in California was one more reminder that the rise of anti-Semitism in America is raising specters of Germany in the 1930s. And the push by new Congresswomen to promote a switch to socialism in America reminds us of the Soviet Union then and Venezuela now. Santayana said “Those who don’t learn from history are destined to repeat it.” So this week we will look to history to see if we can find the clues to our own national salvation.
