Chris spent many years trying any and everything to help her end cyclical binge drinking, including CBT, DBT, ACT (all the 3 letter therapies) , 12 step meetings, spiritual rituals and more. Nothing was more powerful or effective than using nutrition and supplements to naturally rebalance her brain. She found that by using targeted amino acids and food she was able to relieve ALL the symptoms, like stress and overwhelm, that led her to pick up a drink in the first place. She now lives happily sober and passionate about sharing how to biochemically rebalance to achieve sobriety as the missing piece to any recovery program.

Matt Was a pretty successful decent guy who had it all effectively, beautiful wife, 2 kids. Decent career. Good friends. Nice house. Always there to sort everyone else’s problems out.
But underneath was hiding a massive issue of huge anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts and then drinking so much alcohol it was ridiculous to make those thoughts go away each night.
The threat of divorce and a night in a police cell later, Matt made the decision to go completely alcohol free.
Over three and half years later, Matt’s health and body is better than it’s ever been. His relationship with his wife is incredible and better than the day they got married. He’s a better father with far more understanding and compassion and as a result of him getting sober the happy couple even welcomed a new baby boy into the family! His career skyrocketed along with now coaching others and organising the largest charity event in Birmingham, with the goal to rase over $100K pounds for Birmingham Children’s hospital.
Matt is here for many reasons, but what things he noticed in recovery and now in coaching is that more men need to be represented. 85% of large recovery groups are female oriented - this doesn’t mean that only 15% of men are struggling, it means they are hiding behind the curtains and need help.

Joe Ortiz, Interventionist
Today Joe is 55 years old. He used cocaine and drank for 20 years. Joe then tried to recover for 9 years. By the end, he lost everything. His first year of sobriety was extremely hard. Divorce, supervised visitation with his 2 small children, car breathalyzer, loss of my job, etc etc. etc. It was the deepest depression of his life, and Joe nearly died 90 days sober. Thanks to AA, his sponsor, his friends, family and most importantly, GOD, Joe just celebrated 10 years of recovery on June 5, 2023! :)
Joe enters into the space of mental health and SUD treatments nearly 5 years ago. He has been professionally trained in two methods of intervention. The Break Free method by Brad Lamm and the CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training) method by Dr. Robert J. Meyers, Ph.D. Both these methods align perfectly with the principal that recovery is for the ENTIRE family and not just their addicted loved one. Joe simultaneously launched his intervention company, Transcend Interventions.

For as long as she can remember, Steph has always struggled with feelings of low self-worth. She used overworking, obsessive dieting and exercise, and alcohol to escape and numb those feelings of not being enough.
Steph dabbled in removing alcohol for weeks or months at a time, with the goal of drinking in moderation, but after multiple attempts at this, she experienced more blackouts, worsening hangovers, and feeling further and further away from the person she wanted to be. Steph finally said enough is enough after a couple of regrettable blackout episodes.
Today, Steph is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Sober Coach. She owns The Sober Rebellion, a virtual private practice helping clients use nutrition and functional wellness practices to enhance recovery efforts, repair their body from the damage done with long-term alcohol use, and address underlying health conditions.
More than a nutrition practice, at The Sober Rebellion, clients learn to live a fulfilling life with passion, purpose, and permission to rest, fueled by restoring physical and emotional health and becoming aligned with their values.
Steph feels a deeply rooted calling to be in service to others. Her goal is to show others they’re not alone and believe that they can and WILL break free from addiction and build a life they never want to escape.

When released from her fifth hospitalization for life-threatening alcohol use disorder in February 2020, Angie was given two choices by the medical team: keep drinking and die... or choose to stop drinking, and have a chance at a better life. Angie chose wisely, and entered an intensive outpatient treatment program with face-to-face counseling and group therapy.
Forty days later, COVID happened and put a halt to the in-person services that had become the foundation for her newfound sobriety. At a crossroads with no clear path forward, Angie turned to what she knew best from her graduate work in leadership development to continue leading herself away from what no longer served her, and she leaned toward values-based, self-empowered leadership.
Today Angie, SOBER, is the Founder and owner of Mindful Leadership, Angie Chaplin is a sought-after consultant and speaker known for her inspiring journey of courageous authenticity. Overcoming severe alcohol use disorder to achieve recognition as an alcohol-free industry leader and advocate, Angie's self-leadership story exemplifies her values of integrity, curiosity, clarity, connection, and love.

Sonia started drinking daily when she started a business. It was a work hard play hard philosophy. She was functioning professionally at such a high level that no one even considered she could have a problem. The business was exploding and the better it did, the more she drank, and as a result the more her mental health deteriorated.
Sonia received an offer to sell her business, and I couldn’t turn it down. But she knew that she would start drinking more with her days less busy and she didn't know where or how that would end. So she quit……White knuckled with great difficulty. Sonia had a list of things she had wanted to do, and one by one she checked them off. She went to school for photography, took writing classes, and jewelry-making classes. She started exercising, eating healthy, making art, and writing about her sobriety. Sonia calls it - “doing all the things.”
Today, Sober since 2017, Sonia is the founder of EverBlume which provides small group recovery meetings where members are matched into groups based on what they are struggling with. Since then, she has become a recovery coach and has dedicated her life to making a difference with social impact investing and volunteering with the incarcerated, formerly incarcerated, and victims of sex trafficking. And now she hopes to create her biggest impact by leveraging the power of peer support to create community for those on their recovery journey.
Sonia believes that even though the specifics of everyone's recovery journey are unique there is a common thread of shared human experience. She wants to share her story so that people can see that when you least believe it - the resilience of the human spirit is an undeniable force that is in all of us.

Tawny, a NYC based millennial, also known as The Sober Sexpert, started a blog in 2015, called SobrieTea Party, to learn about her relationship with alcohol and why she drank the way she did. Tawny’s book, Dry Humping: A Guide to Dating, Relating, and Hooking Up Without Booze, comes out September 19th, 2023. She is the co-host of the Signal Award-winning “Best Buddy” podcast, Recovery Rocks, and mom to a one-eyed cat named Meg White.

Alcoholism runs for generations in Stephanie’s bloodline, it grabbed hold of her in a way she was no longer in control of in her mid 20's. After losing her 18 year old brother due to drinking and driving, being pregnant and in an extremely unhealthy relationship, it just became Stephanie’s way of escaping.
What began as fun times and an outlet ended in her eventually spiraling to a place she is not proud of. After years wasted in shame and an unhealthy lifestyle Stephanie finally woke up, She made a decision to quit drinking on August 1, 2015. She has not and will never look back. Her own life, her children, her parents, her health and so much more is more important to her. She decided it was time to face her pain and trauma rather than running from it, and that is what her life has been since then.
Stephanie sharing her story is a brave act of vulnerability, honesty and breaks through the things she hid and ran from. It is facing the addiction and admitting the control it had over her. Her purpose in sharing is so it may motivate or encourage others to take those steps toward a healthier mind, body, and spirit.

Kim, a 37 year old fur mama from Toronto Canada in the food sales industry did not appear on the outside to be suffering the way she was on the inside.
People around her would never have known about my hidden addictions. Of course the people she used and drank with wouldn’t have said she had a problem, but the truth was she was breaking down mentally, emotionally and physically.
Kym told myself she had troubles with habit and habit formation- if she could just figure out the secret to better habits, she would be so much happier and healthier.
The hard truth was she was an addict and needed help on a much deeper level. Kym found a supportive community that was able to guide her through recovery and is now almost 2 years clean and sober, one day at a time.
Kym knows first hand the importance of showing that addicts can look just like everyone else, we are community members, we are the women in line at the grocery, we are the dog-moms at the dog park. You, dear listener, think we have it all together.

Chris was a high-functioning heavy drinker who worked on the radio and felt incredibly unfulfilled in his career and life. This is what kept him drinking more and more. Chris knew he was meant for more and knew alcohol was the one thing holding him back from that life he wanted. He knew he wasn't living his life to his full potential and he knew that if he was going to have the life he was meant to be living, alcohol simply could not be a part of it. So he decided enough was enough, and from that moment on, starting June 20th 2021 Chris became a non-drinker and hasn’t looked back. Now, simply put, Chris helps others do the same. Today Chris, based in Minneapolis MN with his wife Ashley, and 5 year old daughter Myla, is a certified life and sober coach who helps high-functioning drinkers change their relationship with alcohol and live the life they know they're meant to be living. Hillary, a full-time work from home pregnant mom of soon-to-be 3 boys, a wife, entrepreneur and lover of personal development never considered herself an alcoholic but many of the events from her personal journey have led her to think quite differently about her relationship with alcohol now.
Processing the role alcohol played from her childhood and past trauma was the beginning. Hillary found herself in toxic friend groups and communities that spotlight “mommy needs wine” and the “hot mess mom” lifestyle. She realized that her relationship with alcohol either revolved around reducing stress or feeling as if she could “let loose” and be less of herself in certain situations – in an effort to be “more fun.” It just didn’t add up. And Hillary is excited to share some of her methods for overcoming many of these scary social norms.
Hillary is the biggest cheerleader of the Together SOBER Podcast. She believes the show is incredibly real and raw and appreciates the perspective and information she has gained as a listener. She believes in the Together S.O.B.E.R. mission and is here to contribute to the massive wave of change for addicts and for what recovery looks like and how to talk openly about it.

Todd, a renowned attorney in Omaha NE, who loves to read, write and travel was a classic gray area drinker who looked like he had it all together on the outside. But he was tormented by his relationship with alcohol. He didn’t like how he couldn’t control it no matter how hard he tried, he didn’t like how he felt after drinking too much and he didn’t like how much alcohol consumed his every thought.
Todd Eventually reached a tipping point where from a systematic point of view, simply put, the negatives outweighed the positives. After trying 48 different moderation hacks, Todd realized there was only one thing left to do: give it up for good.

James says that his story can be considered the same as many addicts, but like all of us our stories are uniquely ours. He started using at a young age and continued to use for most of his life as it progressively got worse and worse until after much trouble with the law a judge gave him the option to go to a 2 year in patient treatment or go to prison. James chose treatment. During treatment and after graduation from the program he started working with the Program of NA and that is what has kept James clean for the better part of 5 years.

Like many of us, Kelsey, a Minnesota born and raised adventurer, started drinking in high school with friends and almost instantly knew she had a different relationship with alcohol than everyone around her.
But because she got good grades, played competitive soccer throughout college, started my career, and had a very "normal" looking path, there was never a reason to second guess anything.
Over time, things started to shift, on the outside, she had a great life! But… on the inside she was completely depressed, anxious, lonely, and started to battle with suicidal ideation. It was no coincidence, during this time, that alcohol had become a part of her daily life.
Kelsey’s relationship with alcohol continued to decline. She found herself creating all the rules, trying to moderate and had numerous failed attempts to “take a break” from drinking. November 7th 2021, Kelsey found herself months away from her 31st birthday, hungover, miserable, and absolutely hating her life.
It was at that moment she decided she was willing to do whatever it took to change her life. The decision was a 60 day break from alcohol until her 31st birthday.
During that 60 day period, Kesley dove deep into recovery and personal healing. She started to document her journey on TikTok (which you must check out! @kelseygoessober), she sought out and built a community, redefined and rebuilt her life. Before the 60 days were up Kelsey realized that she wanted to live a sober life. And today she is living it!
Kelsey says, she felt so alone in her relationship with alcohol and the horrific internal battle. Today Kelsey vows to keep talking and sharing her story to help others come out of the darkness and recover out loud together.

Sometimes the key to lasting change comes from taking a Birds Eye view approach first, perhaps not focusing on that ONE thing. This is what Ammar helps people with.
Ammar is not an addict, Ammar does not identify as sober And Ammar is not a recovery coach…BUT Ammar is in the trenches every day enabling individuals to identify for themselves what is holding them back, ultimately leading them to exponential growth.

For way too many years K has felt the pressures of drinking alcohol as a must for social events, relaxation, winding down, as a busy parent, and everything in between. It’s exhausting living up to the standards of supermom, superwife and super professional. Now her mind is wide open, curious and thirsty for the truth. Katie considers herself to be sober and curious and she lately has been suffering from the anguish of the cognitive dissonance of living a whole foods/yoga/organic life while drinking the irrefutable poison. K also has 3 children and is navigating the complexities of being open and honest about her past of drinking and the knowledge she is starting to gather today. K is on the podcast today to start normalizing the concept of being a non-drinker and to support the conversations of anyone who wants to explore their own relationship with drinking. This week Martin celebrates 2 years of freedom after serving 17.5 years in Prison for DUI.
Martin Lockett grows up in a tough neighborhood in Portland Oregon and by the time he's fifteen, his parents don't know what to do with him. He and his homies steal cars, drink, and smoke dope and even though Martin's bright, the only time he does well at school is when he gets kicked out and has to attend alternative classes. As soon as he's returned to his friends though, he's right back into trouble.
After Martin serves three years in prison for his part in a robbery, he finally seems to turn himself around. He gets a good job, moves up in the company, meets a nice girl, and he's proud to buy his first car. But his decision to get behind the wheel one drunken New Year's Eve, leaves two innocent people dead, several families destroyed... and puts the twenty-four-year-old Martin behind bars for nearly twenty years.
In what he realizes is a palpable irony, it is in prison that Martin finally finds meaning and direction in life. Devastated by the tragedy he has caused, he takes advantage of the educational opportunities offered to him. With his study of psychology, he begins to unravel the tangled threads of his life, gaining wisdom and insight that he puts to use in understanding his own youthful motivations and in counseling other young men, like him, who are headed straight for disaster. Penned within prison walls where the author still resides, Prison to Purpose Pipeline movingly chronicles a lost man's discovery of himself and his potential as an instrument for good.
While incarcerated, Martin earned a BS in sociology, MS in psychology, and got state certified as substance abuse counselor. Since his release, he has shared his powerful story at DUI victim impact panels, alcohol highway safety classes, conferences, and high schools across the country. Currently, he works as a substance abuse counselor and speaks nationally to spread DUI prevention and awareness.

Dallas grew up being shamed and embarrassed of who he was on the inside. He lived, according, to social norms, a normal life until, at the age of 36, he came out as gay and immediately left his wife.
As a gay man the shame of his upbringing compounded and that’s when Dallas found crystal meth, a drug that numbed the shame and made him feel temporarily desirable.

Vanessa Gordon is the CEO and Publisher of East End Taste. She is also the Founder of the Hamptons Interactive Brunch event series. Alcoholism has been part of Vanessa’s life since she was child. Her father owned a renowned nightclub in the Hamptons and she was surrounded by alcoholics and battled that cumbersome relationship. Vanessa had a very skewed reality and never truly understood the significant issues around her until 2018, when the drinking escalated to such an extreme she knew she had to take action.
The most recent catalyst for Vanessa was in early June of 2022 when she finally reached out to a well-known addiction center in Manhattan regarding her qualifier. Side Note: a Qualifier is the term used in Alanon to keep anonymity about the person in your life who is an addict. (ironically, at the time of this call, Vanessa was suffering a hangover while in London celebrating the Queen's jubilee!).
Her life has never been the same since that call.

Janet stopped drinking during the first lockdown of 2020. She was always been a big (BIG) drinker and never saw it as a problem. Yes, she’d regularly be hungover and tired, but that was just what everyone did, right?
The big change for her came when her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2018. She was devastated and we didn't know how long he would live. He's doing really well having had 2 major operations and radiotherapy. At the time though, Janet’s reality was that she would lose him and be left to raise 3 children alone.
Her drinking became very dark and she was undoubtedly drinking to numb the pain and to forget. She was deliberately reaching blackout. Her children started to notice and became the catalyst for Janet’s transformation.
Coming out of her journey is Choose Sunrise, a UK based organization on a mission to eliminate the stigma surrounding asking for help with alcohol use. Janet is bringing her message into the workplace, helping employers to reduce absence, improve productivity and help their employees make positive choices for their health and wellbeing by creating an alcohol safe workplace - without killing the buzz.

Kyle is an HR and Marketing consultant for Ironwood Business consulting and she is 4.5 years sober from alcohol. Prior to sobriety, Kyle spent 20 years in the restaurant industry, 10 years in restaurant management which helped magnify/intensify her addiction. After giving up alcohol she finally was able to beat lifelong, debilitating anxiety and now Kyle makes it her mission to help others on their own sober journey and work towards healing their mental health.
Kyle and I first connected on the linked platform. As many of the listeners know I worked 10 years in the Restaurant and events industry and another 10 in the Hotel industry. Like Kyle, the culture of these industries magnified and expedited my addiction too. We are excited to have an honest conversation today to learn Kyle’s story but also highlight some of the issues facing the service industry and its employees.

Kristi Lyn is a published author in True Stories Volume II & III. and is currently working on her memoir. She is a childhood abuse, domestic violence and two time cancer survivor. And now you can add recovering alcoholic to the list…. Although, for a long time, Kristi would never have called herself an alcoholic. In fact, that was the most difficult part for her when it came to visiting AA. She handled the God part far easier than many, but saying out loud, to the world and to herself that she was an alcoholic was tough. For her that term was drenched in failure and shame. In time, through her journey it became one of the most freeing things she would ever call herself.
When people approach Kristi Lynn and say, "May I ask you a question?" Her response is, "Anything, my life is an open book." Having lived a life where all secrets, shame, failures, embarrassment and uncertainty were kept silent, Kristi is determined to speak up. She believes it is in speaking our truth we learn, grow, discover, heal, help and restore, Ourselves, and others. That is why Kristi Lynn is here.

Vicki is 62 years old, she's a self declared army brat and the other of two incredibly smart girls. She began drinking at age 14, sex followed. She did well in School and made it through college, getting a job as a middle school art teacher, which lasted 30 years. She began recovery in May of 2017, no relapse. She began with a first step program (15 days inpatient followed by 6 weeks intensive outpatient) Over the past 5 years many good things have come to Vicki.
On January 25th 2022, Vicki Asked her only remaining relative, her uncle, if there was anything disturbing on that side of the family. As it turned out, Vicki’s mother caught Vicki’s grandfather doing something to her…it was the mid 1960’s when this happened. Vicki has no memory yet.
Vickie is still searching for herself, she knows she’s in there somewhere. While she processes that work, Vicki loves to share with others who have questions about sobriety…

She is a mother of three mighty girls who live with chronic illness. Heather has been in recovery from alcohol for 4 years and has 10 months of consecutive sobriety. She is so grateful to have found some magic in the messy middle of my life.
Heather has a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University in New York. Over the last two decades she has found her calling working with children, teens and their families in a variety of settings. She currently coaches women and teens experiencing a period of change or transition, and is training to become a She Recovers Coach and Mindfulness Coach and Teacher.
Heather is here today because she believes in the importance of recovering out loud. She says, “I would not be as far along in my own recovery if it weren’t for women who came before sharing their experiences. I believe in the power of stories.”

She was able to start practicing self-compassion, set a sober date, stick to it and she’s never looked back.
Today Cynthia is an international speaker, author, researcher, and founder of InnerAlly, a company building tools, courses and mobile apps to improve mental wellness. She has extensive experience in learning and behavior change and has been developing mental health technologies since 2009. Dan is a social media and digital content guru for HiHo. He has worked for JibJab, ABC News, NowThis News and other well-known organization.
In 2018 Dan was in a horrible car crash where he was pushed off the highway by a hit-and-run by a driver who was under the influence, which left his wife with brain damage. 2 years later he was asked by his mother’s sister to help her write a book about her lessons in long term recovery from heroin use. Dan has been passionate about sharing new solutions because addiction affects everyone…quite literally everyone.
These stories are what prompted him to do what he does today, which is as digital content leader to prompt people to check-in daily on the new Sober Together app which allows people to ask for support from others who have been through it, on a video message platform. Dan has been working with the team behind Sober Together on and off for 15 years. They're known for building innovative technology that connects people, and for the last two years the team has been focused on building apps where people can send public video messages in communities based on shared interests. Support networks have proven to be the most powerful application of this technology!
I was welcomed by Dan as a member of the community, and I have to say it is real, raw, unique and the connections I am making on the platform are deeper than ones I’ve made in years.

Two thirds of addicts report being abused as children. That means that the war on drugs is just a war on traumatized people who simply need help. The link between childhood trauma and adult personality traits can not be ignored. Many of us have addiction in common as an adult mechanism to cope with past trauma, but what about the other 19 traits?

Because her father was an alcoholic, Kelly always said she would not drink. Before she knew it, she became the life of party. She held her drinking at bay for several years UNTIL divorce where she discovered her schedule of freedom and new found independence.
Up until about 2 years ago Kelly never reflected on her drinking behavior because it never seemed to get "out of hand". Now, in a new marriage, Kelly was forced to take a mirror to her own habits and is now acutely aware of her own dangerous binge behavior.
After exploring a Sober Curious lifestyle with her new husband, Kelly is celebrating 90 Days Sober TODAY!!!

I claim to have found mental peace, and while most days that is true and I’ve grown exponentially from the debaucherous years of my past, my Mental Health battle never ends and my Journey is ever evolving, and to be honest, I hope that's always the case.I can’t “cure” these things, I won't ever fully “overcome” them. But I don't need to. By practicing Mental Toughness & learning Emotional Intelligence in a systematic way I've changed the game. I've created a radical disruptor to the concept of "overcoming."Overcoming what?!?! Ourselves???Stop Hiding! Breathe. Take your mask off too.Stop trying to FIX yourself, you are not broken.Together S.O.B.E.R. I have never shared this truth before. I am boldy stepping into the area, stripped of all my pride, to share my naked and raw story of shame. It has been buried in the vaults for years and serving no one there.
I seek the Together SOBER community’s compassion in hopes we can all come together to learn how to break ourselves of this toxic cycle of shame.
This demonstration will teach through experience how we can all work through our own shame and move it from a place of fear to a place of love.

At 25 Melissa, the author of Madness to Magic, was a victim of a violent crime as she was held captive for eight hours. After she escaped, the trauma continued as the small-town justice system attempted to cover up the crime. Leaning into the only thing she knew best, Melissa became friends with the darkness she couldn't escape and for seven years struggled through addiction, mental health disorders and suicide attempts. One day she woke up. Got sober. Took her healing into her own hands and went back to everything she had been drawn to when she was younger. Especially the law of attraction.
Today, Devine uses her personal experience as an:
📚 Author of Madness to Magic
🗣 Speaker
🪄 Law of Attraction/ Enlightenment coach
🔮 Tarot card reader
🙌 Energy healer
Melissa wants to present her book that starts as a true crime but ultimately serves as a self-help guidebook. It is written to lead her audience, both those suffering from addiction and the loved ones of those suffering, towards their own healing and what Melissa likes to call magic.
Melissa is passionate about animals and stopping/helping survivors of addiction, sex trafficking, rape, and domestic violence. Melissa will donate a portion of the profits from her book sales to a charity focused on these issues. This month the charity will be “To Write Love on Her Arms” which focuses on addiction and the related issues of mental health issues such as depression, suicide, and self-harm.

Here’s a reality check. You don’t need to quit drinking to get sober. Let me rephrase: The act of quitting drinking will not KEEP you sober.
Look at your life today. How much work have you done over the past 6 months to improve your own self-awareness, emotional-intelligence and mental toughness? And I mean actual work. Using tools, taking courses, studying, joining groups, reading, meditating, journaling and visualizing. If you haven’t done something every single day to grow 1% in these areas, your sobriety is at risk.
The booze is the smallest part of the equation. Focus on these three legs and sobriety will be effortless.

Missy looked like she had it all. For many years she was an executive in an incredibly successful family business in the design industry. Missy then became a stay at home single mom and is now an empty nester working for a renowned plastic surgeon in NYC. For years, Missy acted like she had it all together. But what no one knew was that she was slowly and privately unraveling from the inside out…Drugs and alcohol were her best friends, her peace of mind and her oxygen mask… until they weren’t and she almost lost it all.
Missy wasn’t sure about coming onto the podcast, she says, “Sometimes I think I have nothing to say. Then I speak up in a meeting or to someone who’s curious and I realize that my story has a listener and someone who can learn and grow from my mistakes and my journey.”
And THIS is exactly why Missy is here today.

Tune in to today's episode to hear the 4 tactics I used (and still use today!) to find Motivation for any goal. If you know any of my story you know I’ve faced adversity, created obstacles for myself and have still persevered. The most common question I receive from individuals is, "how did you find the motivation to finally bite the bullet and get sober?" I'm about to tell you here.

Tay was born and raised in Hawaii. Tay's drinking and meth use started at a young age. By 17 she moved to the west coast with her boyfriend and things got worse. Finally she moved back to Hawaii where she entered into an abusive relationship with a drug dealer and found herself single and pregnant. Her son is now a teenager and Tay has been sober for almost 60 days after 20 years of daily drinking.Tay’s purpose for being here today is to share her story. She’s had lots of rock bottoms that didn't stop her from drinking, and simply put she finally had enough of her own BS.Tay Danielle is in the thick of it, which I absolutely LOVE. I never hit the illusive “ROCK BOTTOM”…at least not in the way we conventionally view it or see in the movies. I was never arrested, never got a DUI, never went to rehab or needed to detox. No one in my life has ever told me I need to quit, slow down or change. I was screaming inside my own mind for help for years, but the compulsion to drink and numb and hide all of it took on a life of its own, I was completely trapped. How could I expect anyone to HEAR ME when I was hiding, sneaking and concealing EVERYTHING. How could I ask for help when no one suspected I needed it? Julie's Story: Drinking was her solution to absolutely everything, celebrations, coping skill, reward, her shoulder to cry on, her trauma counselor…..it was her best friend....Until it wasn’t. Julie went into treatment when she couldn’t stop even when she wanted to. It had a hold on her.Coming out of recovery, Julie wants women to hear that recovery is not only possible but it’s worth the fight, she says, " Sobriety cracks you open and shows you the true person beneath all the pain. Living in that place, honoring that self…that’s where the magic is."Now, Julie is Certified Professional Recovery Coach whose passion for coaching mirrors her passion for her own personal recovery. Finding sobriety in January 2020, she embraced the power of connection to help other women in recovery find the authentic self they lost during addiction, trauma, co-dependency and perfectionism.
