With relationships, you have 2 choices: stay or go. If you're going to stay, you have to come to terms with accepting your partner largely as he is while working on your ability to reset expectations, manage emotions and communicate more effectively.
Was there ANY point in this story where he was kind? Patient? Sensitive? Thoughtful? Put your feelings first? Showed that he’d be a giving and willing partner? Demonstrated the kind of character you’d want to pass along to your children?
This is HIS problem and if you think you’re scared, believe me, he’s even MORE scared. And, just like being a parent to a child who is fearful, the best thing you can do is provide reassurance that everything is going to be okay. He’s already feeling vulnerable and thinking all the same thoughts that you are – except he’s really beating up on himself.

It’s not that her feelings are irrelevant – far from it! It’s that she already knows how she feels. What she usually lacks is the imagination to consider how someone else might view the same exact situation.
There is nothing you could tell me about him or your relationship that would change my feeling. You can tell me he buys you flowers, rubs your feet, and cures cancer on the side. Doesn’t matter. He’s an avoidant timebomb waiting to explode.
Without anger, judgment, or attachment to the outcome, let him know you want to have a household meeting to go through your respective earnings and expenses. Anything you have left over, you can keep in your own bank account and spend according to your own desires.
I'm 35, I'm from Germany, and admittedly some national clichés are very true: Germans don't date well, have a sinister tendency and generally don't deal with the opposite sex in a very playful way. I was the same, plus having had unhealthy codependent tendencies in my first marriage, that ended 4 years ago and left me devastated for quite a while.
I started dating this guy on May 9th, 2017. We dated for 10 months and broke up and after that we’ve been on and off. All those times we’ve been together he never once posted me on his Snapchat and Instagram. He posts everything else but me and I just don’t understand.
