This week we dive in to Mike’s health journey when it comes to fitness and health.
Mike, and I don’t think he’ll mind me saying this, was a big boy throughout most of his life, and only in the last couple of years has started making active steps toward maintaining a healthy weight. What I love about Mike’s journey is that he did this primarily through reducing his caloric intake by means of intermittent and long term fasting.
This really opened my eyes to the practical and real world effect fasting can have on the body. It’s really impressive that he was able to do this and I hope his story inspires you!

In this episode you meet Elijah, a senior in film school who is producing a short film a part of that program. We connected on Reddit’s r/Screenwriting and now I’m writing his film! How cool is that?
This is one of our first meetings where we were still working out the major plot points of the story. Hopefully it’s easy enough to follow a long, and not that confusing. But it is a behind the scenes look at the creative process, which is what I promised!
I hope you found it at least a little bit interesting and maybe it even gives you the motivation to start your own passion project!
As you can probably tell, neither of us know exactly what we are doing. We are trying to write a movie, and trying to make it as coherent and compelling as possible. That takes a lot of work, especially for a couple of novices. But we are trying. And we are learning! Which is the whole point of this podcast. To improve at our craft, our passion projects, in the hopes that we will become successful one day.
It's these types of conversations that inspires me. Just a couple of dreamers hoping to take over the world. This isn’t clean, it isn’t polished. It’s raw and it’s real. I hope it inspires you too.

Oh snap! Episode 2 is done! How about that? Two weeks going strong!!
I think I undersold this episode in the beginning, because listening back, I actually really enjoyed it! It’s clearly not as high of quality as I would prefer, but I suspect it will be a good place to look back at in a couple years to see how far we’ve come.
Something I mention in this podcast is The Accountability Group (TAG). It’s a work out group chat I started with my friends (you will meet all of them eventually, I’m sure). It’s essentially a group chat where we talk about our goals for fitness and health. It’s had such a monumental effect on my fitness journey.
I was already working out and running semi-consistently, but I wasn’t dedicated like I wanted to be. Brian and I started talking and I mentioned I was thinking of starting a group chat where we could hold each other accountable to our fitness goals. He gave me the motivation and encouragement to start the group chat.
We didn’t really dive into the specifics of TAG, but I think it would be worth a dedicated podcast to. Maybe in the new year I’ll organize a little group podcast with the TAG members. I bet it would be a lot of fun.
If you don’t have a work out group you should try to find one! Or start working out on your own, that’s even better!!
Oh! I did get my 10 miles in this week btw. I also cracked the story on my new screenplay and am going to finish the outline and start the first draft here shortly.

Woah! What a podcast this was. Episode 1 is in the books! How did I do? Do you think it makes sense? I hope so!
With this episode my goal was to give you all the background and motivation behind starting this podcast. As Simon Sinek would say I ‘started with why’ – I wasn’t thinking about that when I recorded this but looking back that is definitely what I was trying to do.
Am I the only person who has noticed that The Improve Podcast as an acronym would be TIP? I thought about the naming convention for episodes being ‘TIP 1. Welcome to the Podcast – Chase’ but I think that would be a lot and maybe a little cheesy. Who knows, maybe I’ll still do it. I guess it’s better than just ‘1. Welcome to the Podcast – Chase’ … actually, I think writing this out has convinced me to use the former. Actually maybe not lol, who knows. You do! What does the title say? Leave a comment! Did I make the right choice? Tell me!!
