We love to see Jesus change lives!! Often times his greatest work is done through our hurt... We're continuing to unpack the reality of "Church Hurt" on the journey toward healing.
I bet you have a story about someone from a church that either directly or indirectly hurt you which caused some issues with your faith... We'll be talking through those wounds and bringing them to the one that can heal them... after all our faith doesn't rely on Christians or "Christians" (if you'd prefer) --Your faith relies solely on ChristWe're called to belong to his body though and his body is represented by the Church (which is the thing that He's coming back to redeem)... I know... that's a lot... So we gotta figure this thing out
If you involved in a church, you going to deal with some kind of church hurt. If you haven't yet, more than likely you will. But, have you ever thought about if you are causing the church hurt? Nick, Derek and Lizzie share an open and honest discussion about church hurt: both being hurt and causing the hurt.

Yo! Time to move "Beyond This" series as we wrap up the journey through the book of Joshua. The final stop will lead us through the final chapter and one of the most well known statements in all of Scripture.... As for me and my household, we'll be hanging out at Rise on Sunday... How about you??
Identity is one of those big cultural things right now... everyone is trying to figure out who they are and what their "true self" really looks like. The crazy thing is most of us tend to just keep getting better at putting on disguises. This week we drop the disguises and get beyond all of this to the heart of who we are..
It's "Super" Sunday!! What that means is that someone is about to taste the agony of defeat... but how do we move on after we've fallen? How do we comeback from from a failure? Glad you asked because on this "Super" Sunday we're gonna dive into how we move on after "missing the mark."
What's buried in your yard? I know, weird question, right? But we all do it... We take things we shouldn't have and put a bunch of energy into hiding them so no one will know we have them, but somehow that thing we buried begins destroying us and those around us. So what's buried in your yard that you need to deal with before it destroys you? It's time to stop being shortsighted and start looking "Beyond This"

Sooo thankful it's almost Sunday!! How about you? Also thankful it's almost Thanksgiving and that means it's almost time for that Thanksgiving feast🦃🍽. Which also means it's almost time for all the awkward discussion that comes with getting together with the family and friends you only see a couple times a year. Are you ready?? This weekend we'll talk about how to talk about some things that might be pretty important... even more important than the latest sports headlines or political news... I know, you don't know what could be more important than that.

Definitely "no place I'd rather be!" .... We're back in Rooted this week and we're talking about feet 🦶.. I know... gross 🤢... Feet can play a big part of moving us to that place where we're making the most of our lives so I guess they can't be all that gross.
Yo.... It's the last weekend of October and our gathering will be a complete "treat" . There might be a surprise or two, but definitely no "tricks."
Sooo.. our community has been shaken up these last couple of weeks and even though we're getting back to what we call "normal" many of our neighbors are a long way from getting back to "normal"... With all that's gone on it seems right to pause our 'Rooted' series and work on something that speaks directly to what we've all experienced. For the next few weeks we'll be unpacking what it means to build on 'Solid Ground'... that something that will keep us stable and strong regardless of what storms may come our way.

This is a weekend for "kickoffs"🏈 and a call to remember... As new seasons begin and old wounds reopen we might be prone to wonder.... "Where is God in all of this?" --- "Where is God in the midst of suffering??
Shhhh 🤫... be vewy vewy quiet... If you listen closely you just might hear Him.... Do you seem to have trouble hearing God speak?? I bet it's not because He's not speaking to you. We're continuing to get "Rooted" this week as we work to understand how God speaks to us.

This service is a bit different. The Sunday service was done to honor the persecuted church. The actual service was done with none of the normal lighting, sound system or live streaming. You will be listening to a pre recorded message from Pastor Nick. This was done just for the on line members of Rise Christian Church.
