In case you missed it, with the news of polar ice caps melting and bushfires spreading, the world is in a climate crisis in the past several years. With this growing unrest, people are of course naturally concerned: especially environmental activists and scientists. From Greta Thunberg’s campaigns to scientists protesting on the streets, global warming has sparked a mass movement. Protesters even staged public stunts like throwing soup on a Van Gogh painting or wiping their cake on the famous Mona Lisa (some also covered a living royal’s wax figure in pie!) to deliver a message: “Think of the planet.”

But what kind of behavioral effect will the crisis have (or what effect did it already have) on us who live on the same planet, that, according to professionals, is in danger?

For our fifth episode of Season Five - #TheChanges: Climate Change and Its Influence on Human Behavior - Dr. Criselle Angeline Peñamante answers our questions and concerns in climate anxiety, emotional distress and many more topics.

Some #Changes will be inevitable, but our routine is not one of them. So, like always, grab your coffee, sit back and relax!

Back in the days, people’s negative experiences with their mental health used to be treated with stigma. However, in recent years we are gradually becoming more open-minded with various topics that were used to be seen as controversial, fortunately normalizing discussions around people’s mental health. Anxiety attacks, depressive episodes - all of us are fighting internal battles within ourselves, and sometimes even one’s mind is the hardest place to find peace in. These types of ailments cannot be seen with the bare eyes – even if our day-to-day lives are disrupted we expect ourselves to deal with it each day, hoping to find some rest.

But the truth is, regardless of what each of us carries, having this kind of “baggage” does not make anyone less worthy of being seen. #You Matter: and for many reasons.

Eunice Orpilla leads us into the 4th episode of this season, “The Truth Behind Mental Health Disabilities”, with Mr. Richthofen De Jesus as our guest speaker. As with every episode, sit back, soothe your mind, grab your nearest coffee and relax!

Season Five’s Third Episode plans to answer a question directed at all the dog owners out there: are your canine companions just pets, or are they considered as additional members of the family? While a fur parent’s love for their fur babies is indeed unquestionable, Ms. Marifel Geronimo will help us discern the complexity of the relationship present between a human and every  man’s best friend. Hosted by Elyssa Pronda, The Friday Sitdown returns once again, this time with our furry friends as the stars of the spotlight. Sit back, grab your coffee - or maybe even have a fluffy buddy to cuddle with - and relax!---Send in a voice message : https://anchor.fm/thefridaysitdown/message--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thefridaysitdown/message

This season’s second episode explores the issue of quality education’s lack of accessibility and educational equity for every student. This episode also discusses the importance of inclusivity in the educational system, in which the existence of special education plays a great role. Accompanying Elyssa Pronda – who will be returning as Episode 2’s host - is Mr. Alexandre Martin G. Pine, ready to “educate” us in The Friday Sitdown Season 5, Episode 2, “#EducationForAll: The Inaccessibility of Quality Education and the Significance of Special Education”. As always, grab your warmest coffee, sit back, and relax!
